Didn't expect it to be up until later in the week, but I had a lot of free time today, so I did the show. It's SLAM!'s biggest show ever, and one of my favorites ever as well. Well, without any further adu, here are the results...
BodySLAM! Warm-up Show
Josh: "Hello everyone and welcome to the warm-up show to SLAM!'s biggest event ever, BodySLAM! 2007. I am Josh Matthews, alongside our guest commentator for the evening.. SLAM! President Joseph Frazier!" Frazier: "Josh, it's a pleasure to be here on commentary for our biggest event ever, and I must say, this show is definately going to live up to the hype we have put into it!"
A highlight video is shown, covering our four grudge matches for the evening - World's Greatest Tag Team vs. New Super Heroes, Batista vs. Heidenreich, Tyson Tomko vs. Matt Morgan, and Rob Van Dam vs. Paul London.
Warm-up Match #1: X-Division Six-Man Tag Team Mexico (Eddie, Chavo, Mysterio) vs. Team Japan (Akio, Ultimo, Funaki) This was a fast paced match up, with all of the superstars hitting their spots (619, Dragonrana, Akio Time, etc). In the end, most of the action had spilled out to the arena floor, but Ultimo Dragon and Rey Mysterio were left in the ring. Ultimo was able to hit Rey with Enter the Dragon and pin him for the three count at about the 6:00 minute mark.
Another hightlight video is shown, this one covering Tommy Dreamer's quest to get an opponent for an ECW Rules match, and finally getting Mick Foley to accept for tonight's show.
Mick Foley is shown arriving backstage. Bruce Maki interviews him. Foley says that tonight, no matter the outcome, him and Dreamer will be giving the fans exactly what they want - a true ECW hardcore brawl.
Our third highlight video is shown, covering the Tag Team, Pure, and X-Division title matches for the evening.
Warm-Up Match #2: Tag Team Match Basham Brothers vs. Second City Saints The Saints continued on their comeback tour, this time against the Heyman Family's Basham Brothers. This was some great back and forth action, and the ending really showed how equal these teams are. The Bashams set Punk up for their double Brain Damage, but Colt tripped up Doug, and then speared Danny out of the ring, allowing Punk to get a roll-up pin on Doug, and win the match for the Saints at 7:05.
Our final highlight video is shown, this one showing off the feud for our World Championship main event, inside the steel cage - Austin Aries vs. Alex Shelley.

SLAM! Wresling presents.... BodySLAM! 2007 [/u][/center] Josh Matthews and Joseph Frazier welcome everyone to the show and run down the card. Match #1: Tag Team MatchWorld's Greatest Tag Team vs. New Super HeroesThe WGTT had joined up together again while feuding with Austin Aries over the World Champion. After Kimo was released, Hurricane recruited "the French Phenom" as his new Super Hero partner. Recently, the teams had fought singles matches against each other, which lead to this encounter. It was a pretty good tag team match; action was back and forth throughout. In the end, Haas fell victim to a Michinoku Driver from the French Phenom, and was pinned for a Super Hero victory at 9:53. Match #2: Grudge MatchBatista vs. HeidenreichThis feud started when they teamed together, but Batista got angry when Heidenreich lost the match for them, and then attacked him. Batista was becoming the animal again lately, and that was no different that tonight. Batista dominated Heidenreich, even though both were big men. In a rather quick match, Batista was able to defeat Heidenreich with a Batistabomb at 5:42. Match #3: Pure Wrestling Championship MatchChampion Christian vs. "American Dragon" Bryan DanielsonChristian had won the title after a long feud with the former champ, Jericho. Danielson won a battle royal to get a shot at any title except the World, and he chose the Pure title, attacking Christian immediately after he won. This match was very competitive, with both men taking the advantage at different periods. As the match came to a close, AmDrag locked Christian in Cattle Mutilation and he passed out from the pain at about 22:30. American Dragon then became the 7th man to hold the SLAM! Pure Wrestling Title. Match #4: Grudge MatchTyson Tomko vs. Matt MorganThis match was set up by SLAM! President Joseph Frazier before he handed on-air power over to General Manager Tim White. He was sick of Paul Heyman's Heyman Family, and was sending Matt Morgan to take out their problem solver. This match was a classic big man vs. big man match. Not the best wrestling, but a decent brawl. In the end, Matt Morgan was able to plant Tomko to the mat with the F-5 and pick up a pinfall victory at 7:46 Match #5: X-Division Championship MatchChampion Chris Sabin vs. KazarianBefore the match, the two fan-favorites shook hands. They then locked it up and went into this match that Kazarian earned after winning the one night #1 Contender's tournament. Sabin hit most of his spots, including the hurricanrana from the corner and the tornado ddt, but it was Kazarian who set him up for the Wave of the Future at the end.. But, somehow Sabin was able to reverse it and hit him with the Cradle Shock for a pinfall at 15:22. Match #6: ECW Rules MatchTommy Dreamer vs. Mick FoleyThere was no heat between the two going into this match, but they certainly treated it like there was. The two men brawled throughout the arena, hitting each other with just about any weapon they could find. They fought their way back to the ring, where a table had been set up earlier. Paul Heyman came down to the ring with Tyson Tomko and the Bashams, who started to attack the competitors. Tyson hit Foley with a powerbomb through the table, and then the Bashams gave Dreamer their double Brain Damage on top of Foley. Heyman said that he never wanted to hear the letters "ECW" ever again. This all finished up at about 24:16. As the table wreckage was being cleared, Bruce Maki interviewed Alex Shelley. He said that Aries would have to cripple him to keep him from winning the title tonight, and he didn't think he was capable of doing that, so according to him, we were looking at the next champion. Match #7: Grudge MatchRob Van Dam vs. Paul LondonHeyman made a mistake saying that at the end of the last match, because despite being the heel, there were a lot of "ECW!" chants for Rob Van Dam in this match. Last month, Paul London was able to get Van Dam with a victory roll for the win. He attempted this about halfway through the match, but this time Van Dam was able to get to the ropes. They continued to fight a high-flying, face-paced matchup. RVD hit London with the Van Daminator and then followed up with the Five Star Frog Splash to finish him off at 26:17. Match #8: Tag Team Championship MatchChampions Rob Conway & Nick Dinsmore vs. John Cena & Randy OrtonConway and Dinsmore shocked the world, bringing the Lords of the Ring to SLAM! and winning the titles in a four-way one fall tag team match last month. Cena & Orton were the former champs, but they had to earn their rematch by winning a battle royal since there is no rematch clause in Tag Team Title matches here in SLAM!. This was easily the best of the tag matches we had seen tonight, and rightfully so as it was the Title match. In the end, Conway and Dinsmore were able to prove they deserved the Tag Team Titles, hitting John Cena with "The Key To Success" (MNM's "Snapshot") and defeating the former champions at 23:36. As the cage was being set up in the ring, Bruce Maki interviewed Austin Aries. Aries said that he is the second longest reigning World champion in SLAM! history, and he didn't become that by slacking off. He mentioned that he beat Shelley for the X-Division title in his debut match in SLAM!. He said this was no different, and once again, with the title on the line, he would be the one to pick up the victory. Match #9: *MAIN EVENT* World Championship Steel Cage MatchChampion Austin Aries vs. Alex ShelleyThese two had been involved in a 2/3 match series the past few months, after Alex Shelley won the Gauntlet for the Gold at New Year's Rumble. Aries picked up the first match, and Shelley took the second. It was then added that the final match would be contested inside the steel cage. This was basically a bloody brawl to end a rivalry that began 2 years ago in SLAM! As both men had scaled to the top of the cage, Aries hit Shelley with a low blow. He the attempted a back body drop into the ring, but Shelley grabbed Aries on his way down and hit him with a sunset powerbomb off the top of the cage! Both men were seemingly out in the ring, until Shelley draped an arm over Aries - 1.. 2.. No, Aries was somehow able to get the shoulder up. Aries somehow was able to get up first, and he put Shelley back down to the mat with a Brainbuster. He then climbed up to the top of the cage, and signaled for the 450 Splash. He went for it, but Shelley was able to move out of the way. Shelley got up, grabbed Aries and hit him with the Shellshock. He then pinned him again - 1.. 2.. 3! Alex Shelley defeated Austin Aries to become the 11th SLAM! World Champion and ended Aries' 213 day reign as champion (just two days short of Rob Conway's record!) The referee brought Shelley the belt and he climbed up to the top of the cage and held the belt in the air. Match length was approximately 29 minutes.
Hope you enjoyed the show. Please leave a reply telling me what you think.

very good show. You really need to do more shows then what you do now. All the matches were great. Hurricane and Dupree sound like a good team. Good to see Heidenrich, even if he did lose. Surprising thing with Paul. Very cool. Overall, awesome show 10/10

-- I love your RoH & TNA influences in your shows.
Could be more original w/ the WWE guys.
Liked the Warm-Up show concept.
Fair amount of matches. Structured good. I'd give it a B grade, by far not bad but could use improvment.
Keep it up!

Hopefully this is the beginning of a comeback. I really still love Slam! and its great TNA style presentation. I love the influence that indy wrestling seems to have on the fed as well.
Anytime CM Punk is used, I'm happy. Nice to see him and Cabana score the victory on the warm up show, but it was incredible seeing ULTIMO DRAGON get a pinfall win! YAY!
Smart choice for an opener with the New Super Heros going over. How the mighty have fallen though. Dupree was once a World Champ and now he's opening shows...
I like how you mention the build up to the matches when describing them. Gives the reader a chance to connect. Batista/Heidenreich was a smart move in keeping the match short. Good idea.
I'm a huge American Dragon fan, so this match looked so good on paper. Would have liked a little more detail, but awesome nonetheless. The Cattle Mutilation RULES and I'm glad Danielson walked away with the strap. I'm betting he turns out to be dominant with it.
Tomko/Morgan looked like it could have been a neat little brawl. Morgan impresses me anyway, so go figure.
I love Kazarian, but Sabin is one of my favorite X-Division guys. I'm glad he went over clean here. That much looked like it would have been an incredible one as well. Nice to see both of those guys get some time to work with as well.
Dreamer/Foley looked brutal as all hell, but then again I love the variety it provided. You've got the mat based stuff with Christian/Danielson, the X-Division stuff, and then some hardcore action.
London/RVD looked to steal the show for me. The match got a hefty amount of time too which is very cool. I liked the bit of psychology with RVD being able to escape the pin that London had beat him with the month before. Smart booking.
Conway and Dinsmore are two of my favorites in Slam, and I was glad to see them continue their winning ways as champions. Nice finishing move for them as well.
The Cage Match looked to be a fitting end to a storied rivarly. I really loved the finish to the match. Very clean and fitting to end the rivarly again. Excellent end with Shelley and the belt on top of the cage.
Overall, excellent PPV that is fitting of the "big show of the year" billing it gets. Glad to see Alex Shelley as the new World Heavyweight Champion!

I still think Shelley would have deserved Aries' push so I was really happy to see him win your World Title. What else? Always good to see Punk pick up a victory and I would have put London over RVD All in all it was a good show.

I liked the show a lot.Its the first one I've checked out and enjoyed the whole concept of a "big league indy" fed....if that term makes any sense to anyone but me..lol. It really came off as a hybrid of OVW,ROH, and TNA to some extent.I am looking forward to seeing more of your work.
