Hi everyone, Lately, i've been searching hell & high waters around the internet looking for a CS9 Papa Shango - loose or mint. On here, people seem to be wanting ALOT of money for him (in excess of $30 atleast). So I was quite surprised and checked ebay - low & behold! He's even more expensive on there - even though he's only available in three locations under "buy it now's" - a LOOSE shango is being sold at $40 shipped and MOC Shango's are going at $50+ shipped. I was simply amazed. What's the deal here? Was he produced in a limited quantity? I rarely see him on ebay auctions (here in the UK especially, I've never seen a shango auction), and there's only 3 places which have him on sale on Ebay - mainstream figure websites don't have him for sale either - quite surprising since CS9 was meant for the mainstream public

It's definitley one of the more popular Classic figures. What you are seeing on Ebay, however, is people who are scalpers trying to scam people out of money by doubling the price of one figure. I would be patient and you will find one for a decent price. Anywhere from $20-$25 MOC or $15-$20 loose & complete

Again, Rare does not equal valuable. He's just as rare as any figure in that set, more or less, the problem is the demand out weighs the supply

Not rare at all. There was one in every case of CS9. He's a very popular figure, but he wasn't rare.

I regret passing on this one numerous times at Kmart. Aside from the painted on feather it was superb.

It's not rare but there's no production of it anymore, and many older figures go up in value simply because they don't get produced anymore.

You could get one on Ebay UK for MAX £15 (inc postage) if your patient. I have seen 3 on ebau Uk recently. One went for £15. One for £11 and one for about £12.50 all including postage! good luck

"Rare" is not the correct word to use but I know what you mean. It is very "sought after", yes. No idea why though. I got mine from my cousin about a year ago, he said I could have it if I lent him my copy of SD vs RAW 2008 for a couple of weeks before he got his for christmas. I snatched his hand off, LOL.

Great figure, i have it both loose and moc.
I was enough to get it loose on Ebay maybe 8 mths ago for less than US$5 complete with his necklace and hat!
The guy took ages to send it though + a Trish referee outfit figure i won. He admitted he forgot.. who knows...
I got it maybe 2 mths later.

I never saw that figure in stores around here. Every time I go to bid on the figure on ebay it ends in some ridiculous price. And good luck finding it for a decent price anywhere. I presonally would love to get one myself.

i love the fig. i had a hella hard time finding one in stores. i went every day for weeks looking, found one, bought it and never saw another... i'd sell mine for $20 loose/complete.... if i didn't make a godfather custom out of it... ( and the crowd boos softly)

Not rare as many have pointed out, but he is definitely sought after. Papa Shango was probably the best figure in CS 9 and one of the best figures in the CS line (even with the painted on feather).
