DC RP: Welcome to the World of Kineval
Sam Kineval is standing in a empty field, with a few discarded pieces of wood on the floor. The grass is very high showing that this place has been abandoned for quite some time.
Kineval: So this is were it all started, all those many years ago. My father took my two brothers and I here but back then it wasn’t this desolate field it is now. Back then it was something fun, exciting and different, this was the carnival. None of us wanted to go, it was the same thing every year, a few clowns failing to ride a unicycle and sideshows rigged to always make you lose. When we got there it was the same thing as previous years until a sign caught my eye ‘Live Wrestling’ which was propped up against a side of the tent. My father took us inside were our lives would change forever.
Once inside we took to our seats, my younger brother, Austin trying to get closer to see over the much taller adults heads while my older brother, Marc and I stand up and see a large square ring with a man inside, smartly dressed and with perfect dictation, not someone you would expect to see at the circus. We looked on and watched two large men take each other over in a onslaught of takeovers and suplexes. Marc was fascinated by how the men drew such a load crowd and how they played off the reactions. I personally didn’t care and took to punching my younger brother, Austin whenever my father was looking away.
Then the match ended, a standing ovation from most of the crowd then the voice came again. “Now it’s time for your chance to step in the ring with a real life wrestler, who wants to wrestler ‘The Crusher!’” A overweight hairy man stepped into the ring wearing what only could be described as a gimp mask with matching tights. They picked some big guy in the second row. I wasn’t really interested yet again until I heard the screams and pains of the crowd member, now they had my attention.
The man screamed in agony as ‘The Crusher’ lifted his leg closed and closer to his head while resting his full weight on his back in a move called ‘the Boston crab. I loved seeing that man in pain, he was so confident thinking wrestling was fake and now he was wishing it was all over. From that day on my brothers and I did nothing but watch, sleep and breathe wrestling.
So here we are now, years on and it’s all changed. The circus has gone but the memories are still here. Marc remembers the crowd and the skill of the match, I remember the pain and agony on that mans face and Austin he remembers the back of every bodies heads. So Kurtis Fusion lace up your boots and put on your fancy gear but when it all comes down to it you will be like that man all those many years ago, drenched in fear and cram packed with pain and I will stand over you…with a smile on my face.
Kineval walks off and the camera sees a sign on the floor which was right next to Kineval, it has been trampled on and is faded but you can make out the words on it ‘Live Wrestling’
