Surprises me that nobody is giving Colombia a thought for this World Cup. I'm not saying they'll win it, but in terms of dark horses, it seems to be all about Belgium. They've got a front line of Falcao, James Rodriguez, Jackson Martinez and Muriel to choose from, and the likes of Fredy Guarin, Abel Aguilar, Perea, and Zapata in there Squad. Wouldn't fancy playing them at all if i'm honest.

Spain or Brazil are winning the WC. Sucks England lost to Chile 2-0 but lets hope we can beat Germany or at least draw against em.

Ashley Cole looks so much better than the rest of England's backline that it's embarrassing.

We dominated the whole half and Germany got lucky... It was a quality goal but a bit of a fluke. Gerrard's shot nearly gave me a heart attack. Like Hodgson said the results don't matter but the performance does and we have performed good enough so far. We need to fix up on a few mistakes but hope we fight back in the 2nd half.

Brilliant match between Portugal & Sweden, girlfriend is Portuguese so she was very happy. Ronaldo was fantastic, best player in the world right now without a doubt.

If I'm being honest, I think Belgium will absolutely flop and go out at the group stages. So much hype around them and expectation, that I can just see them crumbling under the pressure.

Would be wrong to write them off and I wouldn't fancy our chances against them, but can see where you're coming from about the hype and expectation. Good to see Ronaldo finally doing his bit for his Country. A big difference for me which people seem to be overlooking though was the service he got, a few of those balls through carved Sweden apart and Ronaldo was on the end to put each chance away. Felt sorry for Zlatan, could see a lot of the times nobody else was on his wave length when he was creating bits and he never had the ball played to his feet. Can't say I made the wrong the decision to watch that over the England Match though, what a game it was at times. No International break until March now which is good.

It would be a travesty if Ronaldo didn't win it this year.

Germany still my favourites for the WC, parts of last night were their third team. Columbia will get to the quarters/semis probably. If Ronaldo doesn't get the Ballon D'Or they should stop even bothering (although I think its a stupid award anyway).

More unnecessary hate from a certain member towards Ronaldo. I mean he's only got 47 goals for his country...

It should be no surprise that Ronaldo performs at International level though, they have a midfield consisting of Moutinho, Meireles, Veloso & Nani... all players who could walk into more than half of Premier League teams. The thing they lack most desperately is a quality striker, the likes of Postiga and Almeida will only get you so far... although Eder does well for his club and Nelson Oliveira has been playing well for Rennes and should be at next year's World Cup.

Nani on recent form would struggle to get into half the teams in the Championship.

More unnecessary hate from a certain member towards Ronaldo. I mean he's only got 47 goals for his country... It's not unnecessary hate at all. The Game against Sweden was probably the first time Ronaldo has performed, and delivered when it mattered for his Country. The only other time i can think of is the Quarters of the 2006 World Cup. They lost the Euro 2004 Final in there Home Tournament to Greece, he missed the Penalty at Euro 2012, they shouldn't of even been in a Playoff situation for the 2014 World Cup, but he was no where when they played Israel, Azerbaijan, Luxembourg. All I'm saying is generally, when Portugal need him in the big games he goes quiet, but he finally delivered when it mattered this time. I can't say it didn't frustrate me though when he celebrated as if it was all him, without paying any acknowledgement to the ridiculous through balls that put it on a plate for him. A couple of them reminded me of Crespo's against Liverpool where Kaka split there team apart with the pass.

Messi always shows up for Argentina... Messi hasn't won them a World Cup or Copa America yet but he's still scored last minute hat tricks against rivals Brazil and Uruguay, and scored against the big nations e.g. Spain, Germany, France.

Messi hasn't won anything for Argentina. In the games that have really mattered (vs. Germany in 2010 where they lost 4-0, the whole Copa America 2011 in Argentina where he didn't score a goal whilst Aguero scored 3, Higuain 1 and Di Maria 1) he has failed to make any sort of lasting mark.
Messi also has a far better team around him internationally. Who are Portugal's best players outside of Ronaldo? Nani? Moutinho? Good players on their day but hardly world class. Meanwhile Argentina have Aguero, Higuain, Di Maria and Lavezzi (all world class attackers) as well as other good players like Zabaleta and Mascherano. Argentina without Messi would still be a world class team, but Portugal without Ronaldo would be nothing.

Radamel Falcao's World Cup in doubt after 'serious' knee injury, in a game for Monaco, the Columbian striker was the victim of a very nasty tackle and hurt his nee very badly and had to be stretched off the field. Reports are coming out (although unconfirmed) that he will miss the World Cup for Columbia and significant time for Monaco.
(Colombian star forward Radamel Falcao will miss the World Cup with a torn ACL. Crushing news for El Tigre.)

Columbia request FIFA's permission for an emergency loan for Zlatan.
