Firstly, I'll say that the red font isn't that bad. But maybe thats just me. Good Rey vs, Knox match, pretty realistic. Haha, awesome Kelly kissed Jamie! Whew! Good thing Punk went over Cody. I dunno about Cena not main eventing. Funny that you kept up Khali's playboy gimmick. I guess you're not doing the JBL owns HBK deal, which is good, I guess. You could've switched this and Cena's matches around, with Shawn clapping at the end.
You're a great newcommer, dude. Actuallly, it's almost hard to believe that you ARE a newcommer.

Nice opening segment, as well as Rhodes talking about beating former world champs. Good aggression shown by Knox there; I hope you find something for him to do though besides beating people up. Now you have me excited to see who will face Regal. Interesting idea there with an 8-person match there. Can't remember when that's been done like that. I actually thought Rhodes was maybe going to win, but Punk winning is good. Cena-Manu is an interesting match, and I like the way it was executed. Didn't see that coming with Khali as the opponent. Nice realistic tough there with Khali kissing Layla. Cena/HBK is a solid match. Interesting there with JBL smirking at the end, wonder where that's going from there. It was overall a really solid show man, keep up the good work. Please drop a reply to ECW 2007 when you get a chance.

December 23, 2008 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland
ECW opened with a video package highlighting Vladimir Kozlov attacking Matt Hardy after Hardy’s match last week. It also shows Mark Henry giving Hornswoggle the World’s Strongest Slam.
ECW opens with Elijah Burke coming to the ring. He gets on the microphone and begins talking about how now that he’s back the ECW roster better watch out. He was once named the future of ECW by Mr. McMahon himself and it’s about time that Elijah Burke prove that statement to be true. He is cut off by the music of ECW General Manager Theodore Long who comes out with his assistant Tiffany. Teddy Long says that he’s glad to have Burke on his show but now Burke has to prove that he’s the future of ECW to him, not Mr. McMahon anymore. And that he can start to show it right when he goes against an up-and-comer who hopes to be part of the future of ECW, Gavin Spears.
Singles Match Elijah Burke vs. Gavin Spears
Spears surprisingly got in some offense with a high cross body and even a stalling vertical suplex, but the crowd didn’t really back him here. Burke again showed no ring rust and looked really good in there eventually taking the win with the Outer Limits elbow drop.
Winner: Elijah Burke
Commerical Break.
In the back, Jack Swagger enters Teddy Long’s office and demands to know when he can get his ECW title shot. He’s still undefeated, yet he still hasn’t gotten a title shot. Long says that there are still some people he must get through to get to Matt Hardy. He also says that he feels that Swagger beating Ricky Ortiz two weeks ago could possibly have been a fluke and wants them to have a rematch next week.
Singles Match DJ Gabriel w/Alicia Fox vs. The Boogeyman
Gabriel looked impressive here but the Boogeyman was too strong for him at times. Boogeyman used a few slams and a big splash but only got a two count. Gabriel surprised everyone when he nailed a double underhook suplex for a two count. The finish came when Gabriel went to the top rope for his Diving Uppercut but Boogeyman knocked him off the top and to the canvas. Boogeyman crawled into the corner and came out with a handful of worms and went towards Gabriel who left the ring scared and got counted out.
Winner by Countout: The Boogeyman
Commercial Break.
DJ Gabriel and Alicia Fox enter GM Theodore Long’s office complaining about being put into wrestling matches with a freak like the Boogeyman and how he never wants to wrestle him again. Long counters by booking DJ Gabriel vs. The Boogeyman in a rematch next week, with a no count out stipulation.
Non-Title Tag Team Match John Morrison & The Miz vs. The Second City Saints
The surprise tag team that Theodore Long has set up for Miz & Morrison to take on ended up being Scotty Goldman & newly signed Ace Steel, the Second City Saints. This was one of the best tag team matches in recent memory as both teams showed great tag team wrestling and hit all their spots well. Goldman even hit both of his opponents with a crisp Asai Moonsault to the outside. He threw the legal man, The Miz, back into the ring and tagged in Steel. Morrison brought down Goldman on the outside and threw him into the steel steps. He climbed in the ring and hit Steel with a Springboard Spin Kick and Steel turned around right into the Reality Check for the 1-2-3.
Winners: John Morrison and The Miz
After the match, the crowd gives the Second City Saints a nice reaction and Todd Grisham and Matt Striker mention how close this new team was to beating the World Tag Team Champions. They also kept putting over how good both teams looked in the match.
Commercial Break.
Todd Grisham & Matt Striker remind us of what happened to Hornswoggle last week and inform us that Hornswoggle will not be back on ECW for a few weeks.
Tag Team Main Event Vladimir Kozlov & Mark Henry w/Tony Atlas vs. ECW Champion Matt Hardy & Finlay
Kozlov & Henry dominated Finlay for the majority of this match with their brute stength and power. Finlay really needed to make a tag but Henry & Kozlov managed to keep the ring cut in half. He did make the tag at one point but the referee didn’t see because Tony Atlas was distracting him so Hardy had to go back to the apron. Finlay finally managed to get free and make an official tag to Hardy, who came in and began to nail Henry with some right hands, then a clothesline and then finally a dropkick to knock down the big man. Kozlov came in and shoulder blocked Hardy while the referee was again distracted by Atlas. The distraction proved to backfire though as Finlay nailed Kozlov with the Shillelagh and then he nailed Henry, who was getting up, with it. Finlay then ran outside and pulled started beating on Atlas while Hardy covered Henry for the three.
Winners: ECW Champion Matt Hardy & Finlay
Matt Hardy and Finlay celebrated as ECW ended.

I liked Burke talking before his match to give him back some personality of sorts. Didn't like Long saying that Swagger beating Ortiz was a fluke. Why would a face GM say something like that to anyone, even if it's a heel? Nice realism there with Gabriel being too afraid of Boogeyman. Interesting to put the SCS there on ECW. I think that the WWE would bring up a new name for them though. And I'm glad that they didn't win. Good main event, and at least Kozlov didn't get pinned.

Nice too see that you have something for Goldman now. When I saw "Second City Saints" I was kind of afraid that you put Punk and Goldman togeather, because it wouldn't make too much since anymore, but Ace Steel is awesome. Hopefully Edge Vs. Jeff ends in a count out or DQ. I'm cerious to see what the major announcement is going to be, and I'll be pulling for MVP to break his losing streak.

Good openng contest to kick off ECW on Sci-Fi this week, which was just a good way to put over Elijah Burke, beating Gavin Spears ia good start. The Boogeyman beating DJ Gabriel, I dig it since both guys I despise, they're both incredibly green performers. Very intersting main event to ECW on Sci-Fi with John Morrison and The Miz facing Second City Saints...I can't see WWE using that name and they'd rename Ace Steele I think. Also that isn't the main event? I feel the tag team main event involving Vladimir Koslov, Mark Henry, Matt Hardy and Finlay unneccessary, it would of been better as a promo, but I feel there's a little too much in that show.

After the weekly Smackdown! intro video plays we cut to a video package showcasing Edge stating that he will envoke his rematch clause tonight. The video then shows the events of last week’s six man tag main event and the stare down between the Undertaker and Jeff Hardy.
Tazz and Jim Ross welcome us to Smackdown! and remind us that tonight’s main event is for the WWE Championship as Jeff Hardy takes on the former champion, Edge. Also, in another huge match, Triple H will go one-on-one with the Big Show. They also state that we have been promised a major announcement once Smackdown! kicks off tonight.
As promised, something major seems to be happening as Shane McMahon’s theme music blasts over the speakers and the crowd goes crazy. Shane gets in the ring and gets a microphone. He says that he feels that Smackdown! needs a bit of a shakeup, it needs something to change it’s style and he knows just the thing. He calls out General Manager Vickie Guerrero, who comes out, accompanied by Edge. Shane says that from this point on Vickie will not be in complete control of Smackdown! The crowd loves this news. Shane says that she is now sharing her GM duties with none other than, himself. The crowd now really goes nuts. Shane says his first order of busniess is to find an opponent for Jeff Hardy or Edge at the Royal Rumble. He tells Vickie that they need to go to the back and figure out a way to determine a number one contender. Vickie, Edge and Shane leave to the back with Vickie & Edge looking upset.
Commercial Break.
Smackdown! comes back to see Shane & Vickie backstage. Vickie is screaming about how unfair this is while Shane is pretty relaxed and tells her that they could make this a great partnership and he thinks they should get to work. Vickie screams with anger and leaves the office as Shane tells her to cheer up, it’s the holidays and smirks.
Singles Match Jimmy Wang Yang vs. MVP
Before the match MVP said that he wasn’t getting wins before because he wasn’t really motivated. Now with a contract negotiation coming up if he doesn’t win before Royal Rumble, he’s finally motivated because he wants to stay as Smackdown!’s highest paid superstar and his winning streak starts tonight. With that he attacks Yang to start the match. Yang battles back after a few minutes with some high flying offense and eventually nails his finishing move, the Moonsault of the top rope. MVP manages to kick out at two though. Yang looks surprised and MVP rolls him up and puts his feet on the ropes but the referee notices and doesn’t count. MVP gets mad and argues with the referee, which allowed Yang to school boy him for the three.
Winner: Jimmy Wang Yang
Post match, MVP looks furious with himself.
Commercial Break.
WWE Rewind: After the match, two men came from the crowd and nailed Carlito & Primo while they were celebrating. While they are beating down on the Tag Team champions, Natalya came down the ramp. The two men beating down on the champs turned out to be TJ Wilson & Harry Smith. Together, with Natalya, they announced that are the New Hart Foundation and they will carry on the legacy of the Hart family. And it starts with taking the WWE Tag Team Titles and Natalya taking the Divas Title.
We then get a video package showcasing TJ Wilson & Harry Smith’s work in FCW, and also highlighting Natalya.
Singles Match Primo w/Carlito vs. Harry Smith w/TJ Wilson & Natalya Neidhart
Primo asked for this match as revenge for the attack he & his brother suffered last week. Primo was overmatched early on by Smith’s power advantage. Smith nailed a powerslam and his father’s patented stalling vertical suplex but only got a two count. Primo attempted to start a comeback but Smith caught his front dropkick attempt and locked on an Elevetaed Boston Crab but Primo reached the ropes. Primmo nailed a mokey flip and was on his way to a full comeback but he ran off the ropes and was tripped by Natalya. Carlito chased Natalya & TJ Wilson up the ramp, while Smith picked up Primo and dropped him with a Brainbuster for the three.
Winner: Harry Smith
Backstage, we see Triple H & Big Show walking on a split screen as we are told that this big match is up next.
Commercial Break.
Singles Match Triple H vs. Big Show
Triple H carried this match as for some reason, Show wasn’t on his game tonight. Triple H nailed a few decent moves but Show began to over power him as time went on. Show went for the chokeslam about nine minutes in but Triple H kicked him in the stomach and nailed him with the Pedigree. At this point, Edge, Curt Hawkins, Zack Ryder & Chavo and ran down to the ring and began to beat on Triple H.
Winner by DQ: Triple H
All five men began to beat on Triple H, until WWE Champion Jeff Hardy ran down with a chair and the ring emptied except for Big Show, who Hardy nailed with the chair. Edge motioned that he was coming for the belt as he went up the ramp. In the ring, Triple H rolled to the outside, still showing effects of the beating and went under the ring and got his sledgehammer. He got back in the ring and nailed Show with it in the knee, just as he was getting up. Triple H then hit him in the back twice and once more in the face. Referees came down to stop Triple H, who was still bleeding and hurt from the beating but ended up coming out on top.
Commercial Break.
Backstage, we see Vickie Guerrero in her office as Chavo, Edge, Hawkins & Ryder come in. She screams at them for allowing Big Show to be taken out and says that they failed in eliminating a possible number one contender for Jeff Hardy and Edge is no closer to becoming the number one contender than before. She says that now she wants to just take out Triple H for hurting the Big Show and she says she knows just how to do it. Shane McMahon enters the office and kicks all the wrestlers out, then starts to argue with Vickie over what just happened out there.
Next, we see Michelle McCool talking to the Bella Twins backstage when Natalya comes up to her. She says that Michelle better enjoy having that Divas Title while she can because she’s going to run through every Diva she can until she gets a title shot.
Commercial Break.
Tag Team Match The Brian Kendrick w/Ezekiel Jackson & United States Champion Shelton Benjamin vs. R-Truth & Hurricane Helms
Helms and Truth began the match on fire showing their athleticism and hitting their opponents with fast paced moves. Benjamin came in and began to slow down the match with some mat based offense on R-Truth. Kendrick seemed to be more into himself than into the match and that was frustrating Benjamin at times. Kendrick came in and nailed Truth with a spinning heel kick, then got up and taunted which allowed Truth to make the tag to Helms. Helms dropkicked Kendrick as he turned around, then picked him up and nailed him with a neckbreaker. Helms ran and knocked Shelton off the apron and, as Kendrick was getting to his knees, hit him with a Shining Wizard for the victory.
Winners: R-Truth & Hurricane Helms
Commercial Break.
Shane McMahon comes to the ring again. He gets on the microphone and says that he & Vickie Guerrero have figured out a way to determine the number one contender for Jeff Hardy’s WWE Championship. There will be a mini-tournament of sorts starting next week, with the four participants being the top four contenders. Those four superstars are the The Big Show, the “Gold Standard” and United States champion Shelton Benjamin, “The Phenom” The Undertaker and “The Game” Triple H. There will be two one-on-one matches next week and then the following week the two winners will face each other and the winner of that match will go to the Royal Rumble to face Jeff Hardy. He also states that since he isn’t sure about the health of the Big Show, if he’s unable to compete, they will find a suitable replacement.
Commercial Break.
Singles Match Maria vs. Natalya
Natalya showed just how good she is in this match as she dominated Maria with an array of power moves. Maria seemed overmatched here as Natalya pulled out the win with the Sharpshooter and motioned that she was coming for the Divas title after the match.
Winner by submission: Natalya
In the back we see Shane McMahon walking and he’s stopped by Edge. Edge tells him that he made a mistake earlier and said that whoever wins the mini-tournament would be facing Jeff Hardy at the Royal Rumble. It’s a mistake because he will win the WWE title in just a few moments and it’ll be him who faces the tournament winner at the Royal Rumble. Shane says for Edge to actually go out and prove that Shane made a mistake.
Commercial Break.
WWE Championship Jeff Hardy (c) vs. Edge
This was one of the best matches on Smackdown! in recent memory. Both men seemed evenly matched and they went back and forth for a while. Edge worked on Jeff’s arm for the early part of the match but Jeff came back strong. He even ran on the guardrail and clotheslined Edge, a trademark move he hasn’t pulled out in a few years. At this point, Triple H came out to watch the match and stopped on the middle of the rampway. Edge nailed him with an Electric Chair Drop a few moments later and covered for a two count. Now, Shelton Benjamin came out to watch the match at the entrance way. Edge began to look frustrated and picked up Jeff and threw him into the corner, but Jeff ran up the turnbuckle and went for Whisper in the Wind but Edge managed to catch him mid-move and drop him with a powerbomb in a great spot for a two count. Edge was even more upset and frustrated that he didn’t get the win and picked up Jeff for the Edgecution. Jeff broke out of it and hit the Twist of Fate. He climbed to the top and nailed the Swanton Bomb for the win.
Winner and Still WWE Champion: Jeff Hardy
After the match, Jeff looked towards the entrance and stared down Triple H & Shelton Benjamin for a few seconds. Then suddenly the lights went out in the arena and a bell toll. The lights come on and there’s smoke all around the ring as Smackdown! goes off the air.

I am really interested to see what you do with Shane McMahon as co-GM. I like the way MVP lost, because I think it allows him to keep his heel heat while getting someone over. I love The Hart Foundation and I hope you do good things with them. Good match with Primo and Harry. I liked the outside interference in the HHH/Show match and liked the post match brawl. I like the Vickie/McMahon argument and the tag match was good. There is a lot of good midcard action going on. I like the idea of the mini tournament and the main event was really good. I really liked the post match activity. Overall, really enjoyable stuff.

Just for some advice, don't pump out shows so quickly if you want more replies. Interesting to see what you do with Shane as the co-gm. I like that contract motivation idea for MVP. Smith winning made sense; I don't think the Foundation though should win the belts right away. That happens too often in the WWE. DQ finish to HHH-Show made sense, that would be too big of a match to have someone get pinned in the middle of the show. Good tag match, hopefully you find something for these good mid-carders to do. Natalya winning was fine, although like I said, I hope you don't hotshot the title to any of these Hart Foundation guys. I sort of feel like Hardy/Edge could have been on PPV or something. I liked the idea at the end though with HHH, Shelton, Taker, and Hardy.

I also agree with what you said about the Hart Foundation, although Natalya's been around for a decent amount of time already, so maybe a Divas title run isn't out of the question.

I'll comment on SmackDown. Nice way to kick off the show with a big bombshell in the form of Shane McMahon. lol @ Jimmy Wang Yang going over MVP. The losing streak continues! It was good though as he didn't lose all credibility as he got his heel heat with the argument. Smith going over Primo is okay, but I thought both teams were face? Maybe not. Nice split screen stuff. Like the DQ ending and like Triple H winning. Great after match attack and good use of the Sledgehammer. Glad Hurricane and Truth went over The Kendrick and Benjamin. Maria/Natalya seemed like a filler. Glad that Jeff retained as it was just a SmackDown show. Nice ending with the multiple appearances.

Woah, I'm intrigued by your decision to have co-general manager powers between Vickie Guerrero and Shane McMahon, maybe some tension betwen the two?Jimmy Wang Yang beating MVP is okay, but I feel sorry for Yang knowing that the only reason he won was because MVP is on a losing streak, avoid the MVP becomes a tramp storyline please, that idea is bad. Harry Smith beating Primo is great, I'm loving the Canadian Bulldogs on SmackDown even though RAW need the teams most. Nice first-hour closing match between Big Show and Triple H, the interference from Edge and co. is good. R-Truth and Hurricane Helms beating Shelton Benjamin and The Brian Kendrick is good, I hope you re-push Kendrick though or maybe have a feud between all four of these men sometime in the future. Nice announcement, a four-man tournament for the contention at Royal Rumble is a nice move to make. Natalya beating Maria is okay, by stoppage/submissiion it's better. Jeff Hardy retaining the WWE Championship against Edge is good, nice main event and it's okay because there isn't another pay-per-view for a month.
Reply to WCW 1999 please?

That sucks that Yang beat MVP. I liked the Tag match with Kendrick/Ezekiel Vs. Helms/Truth, but I wish Kendrick and Ezekiel would have won, but I like Helms and R-Truth as well. Pretty realistic that Triple H Vs. Big Show ended in a DQ. Jeff Vs. Edge was a really good match. I wasn't expecting it to end with a clean fall though. I figured you would have Edge get DQ'ed or something. Anyway, great show.

I must say for a newcomer this is very well done. I am glad some newcomers like yourself and Planet Charisma are coming to the board now to help the board out. All your shows have been very well done and I am liking many of your storylines. On Raw I like that you had HBK become No.1 Contender and I think JBL has something in store him which if I am right should be amazing and give JBL a ton of heat. On ECW please push Burke to the moon but do not give Swagger a title shot please.
Anyway onto Smackdown. Quite a good show with only complaint is Shane McMahon was used too much. I am glad he was used a lot but after almost every match was a bit too much. I would have only used him for 3 segments at the most.
As much as I like MVP I am glad you are continuing his losing streak storyline. I hope this leads to MVP getting a huge win at the Royal Rumble. I also hope this win doesn't mean Jimmy Wang Yang gets any sort of push.
Glad you are bringing in The Foundation and I hope they have a good feud with Carlito/Primo. I hope they don't win the titles too soon but they should win them quite quickly since I am just not a fan of Primo Colon at all. Glad Smith got the win.
Good DQ victory for Triple H. It worked well for the match to keep both men strong. Liked the post-match attack on Big Show and I am guessing he misses out on any title opportunity so I look forward to see who replaces him.
I wish Kendrick & Benjamin got the win but R-Truth & Helms works fine I guess. I hope you start some sort of storyline for the four of them soon. Then either have Kendrick or Helms win the US Title in a few months time. R-Truth I am not interested in and don't really care what you do with him as long as he doesn't win a title.
Please give the Diva Title to Natalya. I absolutely hate McCool as champion especially for this long. Hopefully you give the title to Natalya or a returning Gail Kim. Good win for Natalya over Maria.
Main Event sounded like a really good match. I am glad Hardy got the win but wasn't really expecting Edge to win anyway. I am guessing Edge will now be forced to be in the Royal Rumble match which I could see him winning. My guess is Triple H vs. Undertaker in the final with Undertaker getting the win and facing Hardy at the Royal Rumble.
Overall this diary is going really well especially for a newcomer. I look forward to more shows and I hope you continue to improve and I can see you becoming a really good writer for this board in the future. Keep it up.

- The Big Show has is injured and will be out of action for a few months. We don't know exactly what the injury is at this time, all we know is that it's his knee. This means that on Smackdown next week there will be a replacement for him in the mini-tournament.
- Expect something to happen between JBL & Shawn Michaels this Monday on RAW regarding the World Heavyweight Championship.
- Plans right now are to have Kane off of TV for a while as he reinvents himself and should be headed for big things when he returns.
- Expect a lot of good showings in the Royal Rumble match by some mid-carders as WWE is trying to re-establish their mid-card.

Good opining. Good to see Jimmy Wang Yang beat MVP I really hate MVP for some reason. Good to see Harry Smith & TJ Wilson around. R Truth & Hurricane Helms is great. Triple H beatting Big Show is good and I wonder what is going to happen with Chavo & HHH? Natalya winning against Maria is great just in the realy WWE we would see Maria beat Natalya oh and I hope yo make Natalya win the Divas Championship belt. Glad that Jeff retained as it was just a SmackDown show. Nice ending with the multiple appearances.

Monday Night Raw Preview for 12/29/08
- Rumors are swirling that JBL and Shawn Michaels have some news to announce this Monday night. What news is this? Could it affect Shawn Michaels' title shot at the Royal Rumble?
- Plus, Intercontinental Champion William Regal will team with Mike Knox to take on number one contender CM Punk and Knox's new personal punching bag, Rey Mysterio in tag team action.
- Randy Orton & Chris Jericho both made claims to win the Royal Rumble match last week. Chris Jericho is scheduled to take on Shawn Michaels in a match that should remind us of their rivalry from this past Fall. But what will Orton do this week? How will he & Legacy make an impact?
- All this plus much more this Monday on Raw on the USA Network at 9 PM!!

December 29, 2008 FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee RAW opens with a video package highlighting last week’s Triple Threat main event featuring Batista, JBL & Shawn Michaels.
Michael Cole & Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to Raw and inform us that there are two big matches signed for tonight. The first being CM Punk & Rey Mysterio joining forces to take on Mike Knox & the Intercontinental Champion, William Regal. The second match being, what should be an awesome encounter, between Chris Jericho & Shawn Michaels as they renew their red-hot rivalry from just a few months ago.
John Cena’s music hits as he comes to the ring to a pretty good reaction. He gets on the microphone and begins to talk about how his match with Shawn Michaels at the Royal Rumble could go down as a classic like their WrestleMania 23 match or their one-hour battle on RAW two years ago. He is cut off by John Bradshaw Layfield who says that Cena shouldn’t get too comfortable with the idea of facing his client at the Royal Rumble. He announces that he has paid Shawn Michaels for that number one contender’s spot and it will now be him facing Cena at the Royal Rumble. Cena says they don’t have to wait for the Rumble. JBL says they don’t have to, but they will as he leaves and the crowd boos.
Commercial Break.
Tag Team Match Cryme Tyme vs. Cody Rhodes & Manu
Rhodes and Manu were bascially trying to establish themselves a little more, while Cryme Tyme wanted to move back into World Tag Team Title contention. JTG and Rhodes fought each other for most of the fights, while the big men, Manu & Shad battled each other. This was a decent match, Rhodes was the star throughout and the finish came when Cryme Tyme went for their double team finish on Rhodes but Manu ran in and knocked JTG out of the ring. Rhodes wriggled free of Shad’s grip and got behind to roll him up for the win, but not before putting his feet on the ropes for extra leverage, as Legacy steals a victory tonight.
Winners: Cody Rhodes & Manu
Backstage, we see Stephanie McMahon in her office when there’s a knock on the door. She tells whoever knocked to enter and it’s Batista. He said that he’s not happy with how Raw ended last week and he’d like a match tonight to let out his frustrations. Stephanie said that sounds like a pretty good idea, so she books a tag team main event tonight putting Batista & John Cena together again to take on Randy Orton & JBL. Batista likes the sound of that and smiles as he leaves the office.
Commercial Break.
We return from commercial to see CM Punk backstage with Kofi Kingston. They begin talking about their matches tonight and how Punk is going to get his hands on Regal and go on to the Rumble and win the Intercontinental title. Kofi adds that he’s going to be coming for the gold once Punk wins it, which Punk respectfully agrees with and says may the best man win when that time comes.
Singles Match Paul Burchill w/Katie Lea Burchill vs. Charlie Haas
Haas came out impersonating Razor Ramon this week but Burchill was on his game tonight just like he was two weeks ago when these two last wrestle.. He dominated with some devastating moves until Haas managed to get back in it with a clothesline. Then, surprisingly, he hit Razor Ramon’s trademark Fallaway Slam for a two count. Burchill got back on the offensive and put Haas away with the Curb Stomp.
Winner: Paul Burchill
Shawn Michaels is seen backstage, not looking very happy and World Champion John Cena walks up to him. He asks him what’s up with him selling his title shot to JBL like that. Michaels gets upset and said that JBL is his boss and he must do what’s right for his family right now. He storms away leaving Cena looking a little stunned.
Commercial Break.
Tag Team Match CM Punk & Rey Mysterio vs. William Regal w/Layla & Mike Knox
Regal & Layla didn’t look too happy about having to even stand near Knox but these two worked pretty good as a team. They used their combination of power and technical expertise to dominate Mysterio for a short time. Knox seemed to really enjoy hurting Mysterio, but it was this that hurt Knox’s team. Instead of tagging out to Regal at one point when he should have, he stayed in because he wanted to hurt Mysterio. As he picked him up, Rey brought him down with a jaw breaker and then a quick head scissors takedown. Rey made the tag to Punk as Knox made the tag to Regal and Punk began to dominate with quick, fast moves and some big time offense. Knox came in to try and stop Punk, but he got nailed with a swift superkick to the face. Punk then lifted Regal onto his shoulders and nailed him with a GTS for the win.
Winners: CM Punk & Rey Mysterio
Post match, Punk & Mysterio celebrated as Michael Cole hyped up the fact that Punk has just pinned the Intercontinental Champion. While they celebrate, Regal gets up and knocks out Punk with a pair of braa knuckles and quickly exits the ring before Mysterio can get him.
Commercial Break.
We come back from commercial and Randy Orton comes down to the ring. He says that he laid low last week and didn’t make his usual impact. This week he’s in a tag team match against Batista & Cena just like he was two weeks ago. He says that he plans on once again punting his opponents…and maybe possibly even punting his teammate again this time around. Orton’s music hits as he leaves to a good reaction from the crowd.
Commercial Break.
Singles Match Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels
This was a great first hour main event as these two showed no mercy for each other, much like their red hot feud from a few months back. Jericho was in control early but in usual HBK form, Michaels began a comeback and hit a flying forearm. He followed it up with a kick-up and went to the top rope but missed his elbow drop. Jericho waited for Michaels to get up and went for the Codebreaker but Michaels caught him and dropped him down with a powerbomb for a surprising two count. HBK began to tune up the band but JBL came out. Michaels stopped and went to JBL to tell him to leave and as that happened Jericho turned HBK around and nailed him with the Codebreaker this time for the win.
Winner: Chris Jericho
Commercial Break.
Divas Tag Team Action Kelly Kelly & Melina w/Jamie Noble vs. Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix & Jillian Hall w/Santino Marella
This was your standard Divas match. Beth Phoenix dominated as usual, while Kelly showed that she’s still improving every week in the ring. Melina was the star for her team though as she got the hot tag and took Jillian down multiple times. She went to run off the ropes but Santino tripped her. Noble ran around the ring and started to take it to Santino for getting involved. In the ring, Jillian made the tag to Beth, while Melina crawled to Kelly. Kelly ran at Beth and hit her flying head scissors, but Beth got right up and planted Kelly with the Glam Slam.
Winners: Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix & Jillian Hall
We cut to see little used D-Lo Brown, Val Venis & Deuce talking backstage. Dolph Ziggler walks up to them and introduces himself as usual and then leaves. The other three look at each other wondering what’s Ziggler’s deal. They go back to their conversation which apparently was what happened to Kane and where has he been at.
Commercial Break.
Tag Team Main Event Randy Orton & John “Bradshaw” Layfield vs. World Heavyweight Champion John Cena & Batista
Cena & Batista again looked like the better team as, unlike their opponents, they’ve teamed up before. Orton really didn’t want to participate as he seemed bitter towards JBL. He did manage to come in and begin to beat down on Cena. Cena started to make a comeback though with a shoulder block, and back suplex. He got ready to hit the 5 Knuckle Shuffle but as he came off the ropes, JBL ran in and laid him out with a steel chair.
Winners by DQ: John Cena & Batista
Post match, Randy Orton began to get up and Batista ran in and took him down and the two men starting brawling in the middle of the ring. JBL meanwhile nailed Cena with the chair a few more times before leaving the ring with his arm raised in the arm as Raw faded to black.
