July 18th, 2010 | Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri
Dark Match: The Usos def. The South Beach Party BoysA video package kicks off the show, showing the formation of the “Best in the World” as they helped Chris Jericho dethrone Edge as Champion. It then shows their issues over the past few weeks including Alberto Del Rio costing Kofi Kingston his Money in the Bank cash in. It lastly focuses on CM Punk and the Straight Edge Society as Punk heads into a Six Pack Challenge tonight with huge implications. Vickie Guerrero, Big Show and Jeff Hardy all have their respective jobs on the line.
The opening pyro shoots off as the “Money” by I Fight Dragons blares over the speakers. The camera pans over the jam packed Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri as Michael Cole, Jerry “The King” Lawler and Matt Striker introduce the fans at home to tonight’s huge Pay-Per-View!
Alberto Del Rio w/ Gail Kim and United States Champion Jack Swagger vs. Kofi KingstonKofi Kingston became the first person to win Money in the Bank and fail to win after cashing it in, due to Alberto Del Rio. That was the ultimate shot to stop the huge wave of momentum that Kingston was riding since the tail end of 2009. Del Rio offers a test of strength to start, but Kingston is clearly still pissed about his failed cash in so he just dropkicks Del Rio to the ground. Kingston mounts him, delivering multiple right hands consecutively. Kingston sends him off the ropes, leaps over him twice and hits a huge flying forearm. Del Rio rolls outside with Jack Swagger and Gail Kim to regroup because Kingston is on fire. As the three of them are talking strategy, Kofi runs off the ropes and fakes a suicide dive, making them scatter. Del Rio is upset and embarrassed as he rolls back into the ring. They lock up and Del Rio overpowers Kingston before using an arm wringer. Del Rio is clearly going to focus on the arm to set up his vicious Cross Armbreaker later. Kofi fights out of it behind the crowd’s cheers as he sends Del Rio off the ropes and hits a big back elbow. Kingston now throws Del Rio outside and follows, clearly not worried about being the high flyer that he’s known for. He is out for revenge in the worst way as he whips Del Rio into the barricade. Gail Kim distracts the referee as Jack Swagger sneaks up and throws Kofi face first into the post. This allows Del Rio to gain the upper hand as he puts Kofi back into the ring. He executes a single arm DDT for a near fall. The crowd gets to their feet as the number one contender for Jack Swagger’s United States Title, Tyler Black, walks to the ring. He chases Jack Swagger around the ring and up the aisle as Del Rio is not happy. He does go back to work on Kofi though and places him sitting on the top turnbuckle. He looks for a superplex, but Kofi shoves him off and to the mat. Before Kofi can capitalize though, Del Rio gets back up and hits a huge step up enziguri! Del Rio slowly makes the cover but Kofi manages to get his shoulder up. Alberto is frustrated and begins to tap on his arm, signaling the Cross Armbreaker. Kofi is up and Del Rio goes to lock it on, but Kofi blocks it and puts him into a pinning combination for a near fall. Kofi now sends him into the corner, charges, leaps to the top and hits ten punches followed by a monkey flip. The crowd is roaring as Kofi bounces off the ropes and hits the Boom Drop. He goes for the cover but Del Rio kicks out. Kofi begins to Boom clap as Del Rio gets to his feet and he attempts Trouble in Paradise but Del Rio ducks and locks in the Cross Armbreaker! Kofi locks his hands to prevent the hold from fully getting locked on and rolls forward into a pin but Del Rio kicks out. They get up at the same time, but Gail Kim pulls Kofi’s leg and he drops to one knee, allowing Del Rio to hit a vicious kick to the skull and steal a win! Alberto Del Rio defeats Kofi Kingston [16:29]Alberto Del Rio rolls out of the ring and leaves up the ramp with Gail Kim as Kofi Kingston slowly begins to stir in the ring. Kofi was unfortunately unable to avenge the worst moment of his WWE career as Alberto Del Rio gets the upper hand once again.
Ashley Valance is now standing by with the ECW Champion, Bryan Danielson. She asks for his thoughts about his title defense against Drew McIntyre tonight after seeing the strength in numbers that the Best in the World just showed. Danielson responds by saying that he understands that it won’t be easy taking on a member of the Best in the World, but he has never had so much hatred inside of him for one person and he promises to make Drew McIntyre pay tonight.
Women’s Championship: Serena Mancini [c] vs. AJ Lee vs. Gail KimSerena Mancini kisses the Women’s Title as she hands it off to the official and the bell sounds. AJ Lee instantly makes a beeline for her former mentor, Gail Kim and tackles her to the ground. She beats her head into the mat several times before Kim rolls over and both ladies fall outside. They continue to do battle while Serena leans back on the turnbuckle and watches it unfold. AJ whips Gail Kim into the ring apron before hitting a suplex on the outside. She notices that Serena is relaxing so she gets in the ring and runs at her but is met with a huge back elbow. Serena places her in the corner and fires away with knife edge chops before tossing her by her hair. Serena looks to end it early by attempting the Mancini Code, but AJ gets out of it and rolls her up only to have Gail Kim break up the count. She begins to fire kicks at AJ until Serena grabs her from behind and hits a bridging German suplex for a near fall. Serena and AJ now trade arm drags before AJ hits consecutive swinging neck breakers. The crowd counts with the referee but Serena is able to kick out. AJ Lee bounces off the ropes but Serena hits her with a stiff clothesline. Gail Kim turns Serena around but is met with a kick to the stomach. Serena nails her with a belly to belly suplex before lifting Kim for the Mancini Code. As she has Kim on her shoulder, AJ is up and hits Serena with the Shining Wizard! All three women are down but AJ is up first and the crowd cheers loudly as she can make the pin and fulfill her dream. Before she can make the pin though, Kim catches her with Eat Defeat from out of nowhere and covers her for the three! Gail Kim defeats AJ Lee and Serena Mancini to become the New Women’s Champion [5:33]The WWE Universe is not happy about this outcome as the “Best in the World” have just gained the Women’s Championship to make themselves even stronger. Gail Kim is handed the gold as she leaves and raises it high in the air. Serena Mancini is shown, looking furious as her near six month reign as Champion is over and she wasn’t pinned. AJ Lee is also shown slowly regaining consciousness and she looks heartbroken.
A promo is shown for next month’s Pay-Per-View extravaganza, SummerSlam!
A build up video is shown for the upcoming match. It begins with a match on ECW on over two months ago on May 4th. Bryan Danielson went for a suicide dive onto his opponent, Drew McIntyre, but McIntyre hit him with a sickening mid-air steel chair shot. McIntyre boasted about “ending” Danielson’s career over the next few weeks. Danielson would return and target McIntyre, challenging him to an Extreme Rules match. During that match McIntyre was bloodied, but again struck Danielson with a vicious chair shot during a suicide dive to beat him. McIntyre also cost Danielson his Semi-Final match during the King of the Ring and match for tonight was made. However on July 6th, Danielson made history when he defeated Ezekiel Jackson to become the ECW Champion and now the contest is for the Championship! Extreme Rules Match for the ECW Championship: Bryan Danielson [c] vs. Drew McIntyre
Bryan Danielson was not about to patiently wait for Drew McIntyre to make his entrance, as Danielson meets him halfway up the aisle and the two immediately trade blows. The bell sounds as Danielson tosses McIntyre into the stage structure before bouncing him off of the guardrail. Danielson charges at McIntyre, who ducks down and flips him over and into the crowd. McIntyre stumbles towards the ring, happy to be away from Danielson. However, as McIntyre reaches the ring, Danielson emerges and stands atop the railing. McIntyre turns in his direction and Bryan leaps off, connecting with a knee to McIntyre’s face. He raises his arm high as the WWE Universe pops. Danielson looks under the ring and pulls out a kendo stick to the crowd’s liking. Before he could use it, McIntyre hits him with a low blow. Drew picks up the kendo stick and wails away at Danielson’s back and ribs. He rolls Bryan into the ring and follows with the kendo stick, hitting a Russian leg sweep with it for a near fall. McIntyre heads outside and grabs a steel chair. “We know the heinous acts that Drew can commit with a steel chair!” shouts Michael Cole. McIntyre sets up the chair in the corner and points at it as the crowd showers him with boos. He goes to whip Danielson into the chair, but Danielson leaps over it and backflips over McIntyre. He runs off the ropes and ducks a clothesline, followed by a huge running elbow! Danielson is fired up as McIntyre gets to his knees. He begins to deliver stiff roundhouse kicks to McIntyre’s chest but when he goes for the one to the head, McIntyre ducks it and hits a German suplex for two. McIntyre heads outside and brings the steel steps into the ring. He grabs Danielson as he gets up and tosses him head first into the steel chair in the corner! McIntyre could probably go for the pin, but he’s looking to end Danielson’s career so he drags the steps closer. He lifts Danielson’s limp body and looks to be going for the Future Shock on the steps. Danielson somehow gathers the strength to reverse it into a release Northern lights suplex off the steps! Both men are down but Danielson stirs first as he shakes off the cobwebs and climbs to the top. McIntyre gets to his feet and hits the ropes, forcing Danielson to land on his groin. McIntyre picks up the chair, but Danielson is back up and he hits a missile dropkick into the chair! Again, both men are down and Danielson drapes his arm over McIntyre for the pin but Drew somehow gets his shoulder up! Danielson looks fired up again as he lifts the steel steps and charges at McIntyre, but Drew hits a big boot into the steps! He now goes for the pin, but Danielson gets his foot on the ropes as the crowd goes wild. McIntyre thinks he’s won the match and begins to argue with the referee, allowing Danielson to get up. He nails McIntyre with a knee to the back, sending him outside. Danielson runs off the ropes and finally connects with the suicide dive! He rolls McIntyre into the ring, but Drew grabs the kendo stick. He swings, but Danielson ducks and grabs his arm. He pulls him down into a submission move that he’s never used before that Josh Matthews calls a “LeBelle Lock”. Danielson grabs the kendo stick and places it across McIntyre’s face, putting even more pressure on an already painful hold and McIntyre is forced to submit! Bryan Danielson defeats Drew McIntyre to retain the ECW Championship [11:18] Bryan Danielson celebrates with his ECW Championship as he, unlike Kofi Kingston, was able to gain a measure of revenge on the Best in the World tonight. The cameras cut backstage where The Best in the World was shown in their locker room. Chris Jericho doesn’t look pleased as he turns to his teammates. “We are one and one tonight, which is not the domination that I want. Ezekiel Jackson, you will dominate John Cena tonight and after I beat Edge once again, The Best in the World will have the night we deserve.” The Miz vs. Christian
Just like their encounter in the finals of the King of the Ring, this match begins with a collar and elbow tie up. Christian goes behind Miz and drops him to the mat, where he applies a headlock. Miz manages to turn it over into a pinning attempt but Christian kicks out. They lock up again, and Christian again wins that by dropping him to the mat and applying a front face lock. Miz again wriggles free and is clearly frustrated. They lock up for a third time, but Miz rakes Christian in the eyes to outsmart him. Miz whips Christian into the corner and stomps away at his midsection before backing up and going for the Awesome clothesline. Christian dodges it and hits a pendulum kick to the head. Captain Charisma climbs to the top and nails a flying uppercut, just like in their King of the Ring match. Christian goes for the cover but Miz gets his shoulder up. Christian now whips Miz off the ropes, but the Awesome One reverses it and catches Christian in a sleeper hold. Miz has it locked in tightly and Christian fades to his knees. The referee lifts Christian’s arm three times and it falls on the first two. On the third, Christian keeps it in the air and the crowd is rallying him out of this hold. He gets to his feet and elbows Miz in the gut before sending him off the ropes and hitting a flapjack. Miz crawls over the ropes and gets to his knees, leaning on the second rope. Christian steps on his back and pushes down, choking Miz on the rope. Christian then slides outside and strikes Miz across the face. He goes to the top and attempts a frog splash, but Miz gets his knees up and covers for a near fall. Miz hits a neckbreaker/backbreaker combo and taunts the WWE Universe. Christian gets to his knees and Miz hits a vicious looking snap DDT, but Christian again will not stay down for a three. Miz begins to stalk Christian for the Skull Crushing Finale, but Christian blocks it and sets up the Unprettier. Miz goes for a backslide just like last month but Christian kicks out of it. They get up at the same time and Miz pulls him into a small package but Christian kicks out again. Once more, they get up at the same time and Christian takes a swing, but Miz ducks and rolls him up with a school boy. He gets the three count this time thanks to a handful of tights. The Miz defeats Christian [9:27]The crowd is shocked as The Miz has snuck out a victory with a pinning combination for the second straight month. Christian is incredibly disappointed in the center of the ring as King Miz The Awesome celebrates another victory.
Ashley Valance is shown in the back with the “Charismatic Enigma” Jeff Hardy and the Big Show. She asks them about the possibility that this will be their final match as part of the Smackdown roster. Jeff says that even with Vickie Guerrero in charge, he loves being a part of the Smackdown roster and he loves the WWE Championship so he will do everything in his power to walk out with the belt tonight. Big Show interjects and says that he doesn’t plan on leaving Smackdown either; however, he hasn’t been WWE Champion in nearly eight years so he’s hungrier than he’s ever been. Jeff says may the best man win and they shake hands.
A promo video is shown, focusing on Edge’s World Heavyweight Title reign this year, which was the longest of his career, before getting to the King of the Ring. Chris Jericho won the title that night after his new stable, The Best in the World, assisted him. Edge got his rematch the following night but Alberto Del Rio intervened and it ended in a disqualification so General Manager John “Bradshaw” Layfield gave Edge one more shot tonight!
World Heavyweight Championship: Chris Jericho [c] w/ Gail Kim and William Regal vs. EdgeThe audience in Kansas City was buzzing for this match as they want to see the Best in the World get what’s coming to them. The bell rings and the two men go face to face until Chris Jericho slaps Edge across the face. Edge retaliates with one of his own and Jericho trips him up, going for the Walls of Jericho early on! Edge kicks him away and Jericho stumbles back to the corner. Edge gets up and charges but Jericho dodges and throws him into the corner. He fires off some loud knife edge chops before sending Edge off the ropes and catches him with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Jericho holds Edge over his knee and presses down on his face, really working the back. Jericho breaks it and again goes for the Walls of Jericho, but Edge reaches up and pulls him into a small package for a near fall. Before Edge can capitalize, Jericho is back on the attack with some stomps. He picks him up and hits a double underhook backbreaker as he is really setting up for the Walls at some point in the contest. He now attempts the Lionsault, but Edge gets his knees up. Jericho bounces off the ropes but Edge catches him with a big boot, followed by a half nelson bulldog. Edge sends Jericho to the corner and sits him on the top turnbuckle. He climbs with him and hits a big superplex. Both men are down as the referee begins his count. Edge gets up around six and begins to pull his hair, setting up for the Spear. William Regal gets on the apron, and Edge knocks him off with a Spear! He turns back to Jericho but is met with a kick to the stomach and a powerbomb. Jericho keeps hold and nails a second consecutive powerbomb and bridges it for a pin but Edge is able to power out. Jericho goes for the Walls for a third time and this time, gets it locked in. Edge is writhing in pain as he crawls to the ropes. He gets close and Gail Kim pulls the rope away from him! The referee stops her and Edge is able to clutch the ropes. Jericho drags him to the middle of the ring and tries again but Edge kicks him off into the corner again. He gets up and, as Jericho stumbles out, hits him with the Edgecution! Edge is too worked over from the Walls to make the cover immediately, so when he does, Jericho is able to kick out. Edge slowly gets to his feet in the corner and calls for the Spear again. Gail Kim trips up the referee from outside and he hits the mat hard. Edge connects with the Spear and covers, but nobody is there to count. He goes to wake up the referee, but Drew McIntyre, Alberto Del Rio and Jack Swagger rush out to the ring. They gang up on Edge and beat him down. Kofi Kingston runs out as the crowd explodes! Swagger runs at him and he back body drops him to the outside before clotheslining McIntyre outside too. Kofi trades shots with Del Rio before hitting Trouble in Paradise! Del Rio rolls outside with his partners as Kofi leaps over the top and onto them as the crowd erupts! Meanwhile, the official begins to get up as both Jericho and Edge are getting up. Edge goes for the Spear but Jericho moves and Edge’s shoulder smashes into the turnbuckle. Edge turns around holding his shoulder and is struck with the Codebreaker, earning Jericho the victory. Chris Jericho defeats Edge to retain the World Heavyweight Championship [14:23] Kofi Kingston gets in the ring, so Chris Jericho exits and Gail Kim gives him his World Heavyweight Title. The Best in the World leave up the ramp as their leader has successfully retained his gold tonight. Kofi checks on Edge in the ring as Jericho poses with Alberto Del Rio, Jack Swagger, Drew McIntyre and Gail Kim at the top of the stage.
The cameras cut backstage to show WWE Champion CM Punk with the Straight Edge Society in the back. He gives them a speech about tonight being one of the most important in their existence. When he goes out and beats five of Smackdown’s top stars the world will know for sure that being straight edge is the way to go. He knows they had a setback with Serena earlier but she will get her belt back and he will keep his tonight.
A short video package is shown of Sheamus’ tear through the WWE. It shows him turning his back on his uncle Finlay, eliminating Batista and taking out The Undertaker. It then shows how he injured Ted Dibiase Jr after Ted paid him to take out The Undertaker and their ensuing rivalry.
Ted Dibiase Jr vs. Sheamus
As soon as the bell sounds, Ted Dibiase Jr runs at Sheamus and pummels him in the corner until the referee puts a stop to it. Dibiase goes for it again, but Sheamus is ready this time and he catches a jumping Dibiase before planting him with a fallaway slam. He lifts Dibiase and whips him hard into the corner. He follows up with several knee thrusts before backing up, running in and driving his knee into Dibiase’s chest. The dominating Sheamus looks to be in firm control as usual as he drops three straight knees into a fallen Dibiase’s head. He covers but only gets a near fall. Sheamus hoists Dibiase over his shoulder for White Noise, but Dibiase slips free and rolls up the Celtic Warrior for two. As they get up, Sheamus bounces off the ropes but Ted bounces off the same rope and hits a clothesline. Dibiase drops three straight elbows and his dad’s trademark fist drop for a near fall. The crowd’s anticipation grows as Dibiase climbs to the top, something he doesn’t do often. He jumps off and hits Sheamus with a high knee that sends the big man into the ropes. As Sheamus comes off the ropes, Dibiase nails a snap powerslam but Sheamus gets his shoulder up. Dibiase now locks on the Million Dollar Dream and Sheamus begins to fade. He drops to one knee and it looks like he’ll be going to sleep but Sheamus gets back to his feet and backs into a corner, crushing Dibiase. Both men are down and Dibiase rolls to the apron. Sheamus stands him up and clubs him across the chest with vicious forearms multiple times. He then nails a big Brogue Kick, knocking Dibiase to the floor. The official began his count as Sheamus is headed for a countout win, but Dibiase manages to crawl into the ring at the count of nine and a half. There is no quit in Dibiase as he gets back to his feet. Sheamus grabs him and hits the Celtic Cross for the victory. Sheamus defeats Ted Dibiase Jr [7:36]
Boos rain down in Kansas City as Sheamus has defeated Ted Dibiase Jr. Michael Cole is sure to point out that Ted Dibiase Jr showed a lot of fight and never gave up, but just like with Batista and The Undertaker; Sheamus proved to be too much.
A video package plays showing the rivalry between John Cena and Ezekiel Jackson so far, including Cena’s appearances on ECW and Jackson being a part of the Best in the World.
John Cena vs. Ezekiel Jackson w/ Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre stands outside, battered and bandaged from his Extreme Rules match earlier tonight, pumping up Ezekiel Jackson as John Cena enters the ring. The match begins with Jackson offering up his right hand in a test of strength. Cena looks cautious as he goes for it and the two powerhouses engage in a test. Jackson gains the upper hand but Cena, being the fighter that he is, evens the score until Jackson kicks him in the stomach. Jackson shows more strength as he picks up Cena and hits five scoop slams in a row for a near fall. Already early in the match, Cena’s back is in clear pain. He continues the work on Cena’s back by putting him in a Steiner Recliner type move. Cena is in clear pain but manages to trip Jackson, breaking the hold. Cena connects with a dropkick as they get up, sending Jackson into the corner. Cena places him on the top turnbuckle and climbs up. He goes for a superplex, but Jackson fights him off and pushes him to the mat. Jackson rests up top for a few, allowing Cena to get back to his feet, jump to the top and hit a top rope hurricanrana! The crowd jumps to their feet as Cena has never pulled off a move like that before. He gets the cover but Jackson gets a shoulder up. John Cena is looking to pull out all of the stops to walk away with a win tonight. Cena goes for a belly to belly suplex, but Jackson blocks it and puts him in a bearhug. Cena tries to fight out of it but starts to fade. The crowd begins to clap; rallying the leader of the Cenation. He fights out of it with elbows to Jackson’s collarbones before running off the ropes and hitting back to back shoulder blocks. Cena goes for the five knuckle shuffle but Drew McIntyre reaches in and grabs Cena’s leg. McIntyre turns around quickly to taunt the crowd, so Cena goes outside and tosses him into the guardrail. He gets back in the ring but walks right into the Book of Ezekiel! The former ECW Champion covers but Cena kicks out just before three. Jackson can’t believe that Cena has kicked out of the move that did him in this past Monday. Jackson signals for the match to be over as he hoists Cena onto his shoulders and puts him in the torture rack. Cena again looks like he may give up, but he manages to grab onto the ropes. Jackson tosses him off, but Cena manages to land on his feet and hits the Attitude Adjustment from out of nowhere! Cena goes for the cover, but McIntyre jumps in the ring and nails Cena, causing the disqualification. John Cena defeats Ezekiel Jackson via disqualification [11:00] Drew McIntyre continues to pound away on John Cena until he rallies back. However, Ezekiel Jackson is up and he plants Cena once more with the Book of Ezekiel. The Best in World may not have won all of their matches tonight, but they have looked like the dominant forces that they are.
One final video package is shown, focusing on CM Punk and the Straight Edge Society. It then shows how Punk has five challengers for his WWE Championship tonight including Randy Orton and Shelton Benjamin, who have been at each other’s throats; Jeff Hardy and Big Show, who are fighting for their jobs, and Rey Mysterio!
Six Pack Challenge for the WWE Championship: CM Punk [c] w/ The Straight Edge Society vs. Big Show vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Jeff Hardy
The match begins and all hell breaks loose instantly. CM Punk takes a beating in the corner from Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio and Big Show, while Shelton Benjamin and Randy Orton brawl to the outside of the ring. They trade shots and pound away on each other in the early goings on the match. Orton chokes Benjamin with cables at ringside before removing the top of the Spanish announce table. Before he can do anything though, Jeff leaps over the top and right onto Orton, gaining a big pop from the WWE Universe. CM Punk begins to regret everything that he’s said to other Superstars over the weeks as both Show and Mysterio work him over. Show slaps his chest, echoing throughout the Sprint Center, before Rey hits a splash off the top for a near fall. Back on the outside, Jeff Hardy places Orton on the announce table and brings out a Ladder as the crowd erupts. He goes to climb it, but Benjamin stops him and goes up on his own. Benjamin hits a senton off the ladder, putting himself and Orton through the table! Punk nails Show with a low blow before hitting a DDT on Mysterio. Jeff grabs Orton and drags him into the ring, while Punk goes outside and does the same with Benjamin. Hardy climbs to the top and nails Orton with a Swanton Bomb before covering and gaining the three. [7:17] Punk hoists Benjamin onto his shoulders and plants him with the Go to Sleep, eliminating him as well. [7:29] Punk and Hardy stare at each other across the ring before running at each other and going at it. Mysterio and Show are now also going at it in the corner, with Show just leveling him with huge clubs and chops. He tosses Rey across the ring before focusing on Punk, who just hit Hardy with a stiff kick to the head. Show puts Punk in the corner and pounds away with some hard body shots. Show throws it back and hits Punk with the Final Cut, but Punk somehow kicks out at two. Show and Hardy begin to wrestle in the corner as Punk gets up. Mysterio springboards to Punk but Punk catches him on his shoulders and hits a GTS, eliminating Mysterio. [10:15] The match is now down to the WWE Champion and two men fighting for their jobs. Show locks Jeff into an abdominal stretch, while Punk rests behind them. Punk goes outside and gets a steel chair that he uses on Show’s back, breaking the stretch. Show turns around and Punk levels him twice more, sending him to the mat. Jeff looks at Punk and Punk points to the top. Jeff Hardy thinks about it and climbs up, hitting the Swanton Bomb as both men pin the Big Show to eliminate him. [13:51] Punk wastes no time in going after Hardy now that they are the final two left. Punk whips him into the corner, but Hardy somehow finds it in himself to jump to the top and connect with the Whisper in the Winds! He covers the Champion, but only gets a near fall. Hardy now sends Punk into the corner and nails the Haryac arrest dropkick before dragging Punk out and hitting the Swanton Bomb! He covers, but Drew Gallows pulls the referee out of the ring before three. Jeff Hardy and the WWE Universe cannot believe it. The referee ejects the Straight Edge Society and the crowd erupts as they head to the back, arguing the entire way. Jeff sets up for the Twist of Fate, but Punk shoves him off and hits a uranagi, locking in the Anaconda Vise submission. The crowd rallies Jeff who struggles but reaches the bottom rope. Punk breaks the hold and signals for the Go to Sleep. He gets Jeff up for it, but Jeff breaks free and goes for the Twist of Fate. Before he can turn though, Punk sweeps up his legs and gets a pinning combination that earns him the win! CM Punk defeats Jeff Hardy, Big Show, Rey Mysterio, Shelton Benjamin & Randy Orton to retain the WWE Championship [18:28] Jeff Hardy cannot believe that his time on Smackdown has come to an end at the hands of a rollup. CM Punk is handed the WWE Championship as the crowd boos and he laughs in the direction of Jeff Hardy, who drops out of the ring and leaves up the ramp. CM Punk continues to celebrate telling the fans, “I told you so.” He grabs a microphone and tells the crowd that being straight edge is the reason why he has retained the WWE Title tonight. He calls the fans weak and he calls the Smackdown locker room weak because nobody will take the title from him. Suddenly, a familiar theme song that hasn’t been heard in nearly four years is heard as Kurt Angle steps out onto the stage to a massive pop from the crowd tonight. CM Punk is in complete shock as Angle walks down and gets in the ring. Punk swings at him, but Angle ducks and hits the Angle Slam! He grabs Punk’s foot and puts in the Ankle Lock and Punk is tapping out while writhing in pain. The Straight Edge Society runs down so Angle breaks the hold and hits a huge belly to belly suplex on Drew Gallows and a German suplex on Joseph Matthews. CM Punk rolls out of the ring but Kurt Angle has returned to the WWE and he has cleaned house!

wow, this is my first time commenting on this, so here we go. A good win by Alberto Del Rio over Kofi Kingston, a nice start by the best in the world, Speaking of, Gail Kim tames AJ and Serena becoming the New Women's Champion. Best start by the Best In The World. Nice win for Danielson over Mcintyre, Miz gets a surprising victory over Christian, wow. I'm wondering if we are going to see The Miz win a title soon, Edge vs Jericho for the World Title to re-kindle their rivalry it seems like Edge has turned into a face now, so I'm wondering where does Edge and Vickie Guerrero's relationship goes from here, Edge tried despite using intereference by Kofi Kingston against Mcintyre, Del Rio and Regal but Jericho gets another title defense over Edge. A good win for Sheamus. Sheamus is on a complete roll defeating everyone, John Cena gets a DQ Victory over Ezekiel Jackson with an attack by Drew Mcintyre, just who is going to stop the Best In The World. What a great six-pack challenge with a lot of stuff in this match, but sad to say Jeff Hardy's Career is finally at an end. Punk then speaks saying no one can beat him, but wait is that can it be, can it, is this what I'm reading. KURT ANGLE!. KURT ANGLE!. KURT ANGLE!. NO FREAKING WAY!. Angle takes out the SES so now it looks like Punk's championship may be in jeopardy, great show for the Bash
Note: King of The Ring is posted on my WWF 1994 Diary.

ALRIGHT. THE BASH. LETS... DO... THIS? I'm too obsessed with that lately. Even after almost two months. Anyway, a good opening contest between Alberto Del Rio and Kofi Kingston, and although I felt it went too long - I get you wanted to showcase the two of them - the right guy got the win in Allllllllllberrrrrrrrrtttttooooooo DELLLLLLLLLL RIIIIIIII-HOOOOO! I mean, Alberto Del Rio. Gail Kim becoming the Women's Championsh comes as no surprise here, being a member of the Best in the World stable. Next up, Bryan Danielson - so refreshing to see somebody else with that name and not just me, because I felt lonely - retaining the ECW Championship against Drew McIntyre. Best choice here, and the use of the LeBelle Lock with the kendo stick was nice. I've seen it done before. Wink, wink. The Miz vs Christian with a clear cut choice with Miz being the winner as he is the King of the Ring. Sir Awesome, ye? Chris Jericho beating Edge to retain the World Heavyweight Championship, again, obvious. The Best in the World is filled with gold, damn it! Now Alberto Del Rio needs some. Sheamus vs Ted DiBiase isn't much of a match for me to care for, really, but the right guy one with The Celtic Warrior. Drew McIntyre, you rat bastard! Good call though with the disqualification finish so Jackson doesn't get hurt by losing the match and doesn't completely bury Cena. Finally, the main event. CM Punk retaining over Big Show, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton and Shelton Benjamin whoo-ey! Big time match with all the elimiantions and the final two coming in expected order with Show and Hardy to send them out of Smackdown... wait, the show isn't over! It's Kurt Angle! KERR ANG HOLE! KERR ANG HOLE! KERR ANG HOLE! A surprising return but it definitely sets the stage for a CM Punk/Kurt Angle feud which shall be interesting to see. A rather predictable show, but good nonetheless.

July 19th, 2010 | BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma | Attendance: 8,323 Raw opens with a video package showing the events of last night’s The Bash Pay-Per-View. It focused on Chris Jericho retaining the World Heavyweight Championship and the Best in the World’s strong showing. Cutting to the arena, Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome everyone to tonight’s huge show! They do stop to mention that Edge suffered an apparent injury during the World Heavyweight Title match at The Bash last night and we will have an update tonight.
John Cena’s theme hits as the WWE Universe gives a mixed reaction to the man who went to war with Ezekiel Jackson last night. He gets in the ring and listens to the mixed chants of “Let’s Go Cena! Cena Sucks!” until they die down. “Last night, I had a chance to step into the ring with one of the biggest and strongest Superstars that I’ve ever met.” Cena continues by saying that he wanted nothing more than to see who the better man was but instead, Drew McIntyre decided to stick his nose where it didn’t belong and cause the disqualification. Cena considers last night’s win an incomplete one because he wanted to pin Ezekiel Jackson or make him submit. “I know I won’t get the chance to do that as long as The Best in the World is involved, and the only reason that they even exist is because of you, Chris Jericho.” The crowd cheers as Cena has seemingly turned his focus on the World Heavyweight Champion. While he doesn’t fully enjoy a disqualification victory, it is a win and he feels that should put him in contention for the title. John Cena is cut off by a theme song that he probably didn’t expect. The Celtic Warrior Sheamus comes down to the ring as John Cena has a confused look on his face. Sheamus grabs a microphone and shows no intimidation by getting right into Cena’s face. “You know fella; you weren’t the only member of the Raw roster to win his match at The Bash last night. I did too and unlike you, I actually pinned my opponent’s shoulders to the mat. Not only that, but I beat a man that has beaten you before.” Sheamus claims that if any person from the Raw roster should be in line for a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship, it’s him. Not only did he beat someone that has beaten Cena before, but he is the man who put The Undertaker on the shelf after he beat him, another thing that John Cena tried and failed to do at WrestleMania this year. “Face it fella; when it comes to the two of us, you are clearly no match.” John Cena responds by saying that hot new Superstars have come in and out of the WWE for years now, and he is quite impressed with Sheamus, but they’ve all tried to step in Cena’s way and he’s put them all down. The two men look like they’re about to come to blows when they are interrupted again. This time the theme is that of the Raw General Manager, John “Bradshaw” Layfield. He steps onto the stage and tells both men to keep their cool. “There is no way that I will allow for a huge match like John Cena vs. Sheamus to happen without the proper buildup as it is not in the best interest of Raw. However, the two of you will be in the ring together tonight. I happen to agree that Chris Jericho needs a new challenger for his World Heavyweight Championship and the two of you both have great claims to being that guy. But you’re not the only two guys who won last night from Raw. Even though he is a member of the Best in the World, Alberto Del Rio did defeat Kofi Kingston last night. So tonight, it will be Alberto Del Rio vs. John Cena vs. Sheamus and the winner gets a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam!” The crowd explodes at the sound of this huge news. Not only will we find out the main event for SummerSlam but a mega Triple Threat match has been signed. Before JBL leaves he also says that he has a huge announcement to make at the end of the show tonight, making this show even bigger! Commercial Break
A recap is shown of the tag team match last week where Dolph Ziggler teamed with Carlito to take on Mr. Kennedy and Elijah Burke. After suffering a loss, Mr. Kennedy attacked Elijah Burke and nailed him with the Mic Check leading to tonight’s opening contest.
Mr. Kennedy def. Elijah BurkeTwo of the staples of the Raw mid-card went at it in a callback to their rivalry over the ECW Championship last year. The roles were reversed now though as Elijah Burke is the face and Mr. Kennedy is the heel. Kennedy seems to enjoy and miss working the heel style as he was very good at it tonight. Burke came close a few times, even hitting the Outer Limits elbow, but Kennedy would get his shoulder up. In the end, Burke took a swing but Kennedy ducked and hit the Mic Check for the win. Mr. Kennedy raises his arm as the microphone drops from the ceiling. He says that last week and tonight were the actions of a frustrated man. Last year he was a two time ECW Champion but his momentum has stalled since coming to Raw. “Get used to this because it will be happening a lot. The winner of the match…Misterrrrrr Kennedyyyyyyyyy. KENNEDYYYYYY!”
Backstage, The Best in the World is shown in their locker room. Chris Jericho is complaining about having to focus on a new number one contender already after beating Edge last night. He’s beaten John Cena before and he’s sure he can beat Sheamus. He stares at the television until Alberto Del Rio speaks up, wondering why Jericho didn’t say his name. Jericho claims that he expects Del Rio to do his best to weaken the other two. Del Rio says that he’s going to go out and attempt to become the number one contender. Before anything can happen, William Regal steps in and says that they can’t already have in-fighting. If Del Rio wins then two of the best in the world will just have to compete, as long as the title stays here. Jericho and Del Rio stare at each other until Gail Kim enters the room. She says that she just spoke with JBL and he’s made a non-title match between Jericho and Kofi Kingston tonight. The crowd cheers as Jericho looks furious and says he’s going to give JBL a piece of his mind.
A graphic is shown for that very main event pitting John Cena, Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio in a Triple Threat match to determine Chris Jericho’s opponent for SummerSlam.
Commercial Break
Returning, Chris Jericho barges into John “Bradshaw” Layfield’s office and demands to know why, on top of having a new number one contender, he has to face Kofi Kingston tonight. JBL says that Kingston’s Money in the Bank cash in was foiled by Alberto Del Rio and the fans never got to see Kofi Kingston vs. Chris Jericho so they get it tonight. Actually, they get it soon because it’s coming up after this next match. Jericho storms off upset. The AirBourne Angels def. The Hart Trilogy w/ Natalya Neidhart
Both of these teams are heading into a huge Tables, Ladders and Chairs match this Friday night on Smackdown. They were looking to gain some momentum and the fans were treated to a very competitive and great tag team match. The Trilogy used their experience to an advantage early on, but the upstart team of Evan Bourne and Justin Angel rallied and won after Angel hit a 450 splash on TJ Wilson. The AirBourne Angels celebrate another huge win in their quest to become WWE World Tag Team Champions. The Dudebusters are shown watching in the back on a monitor because they will be defending their coveted titles against both of these teams and Paul London and Brian Kendrick this Friday night. Commercial Break A promo airs for tomorrow night’s ECW. Now that Bryan Danielson has finally bested Drew McIntyre, what’s next for the ECW Champion? Plus, Wade Barrett speaks for the first time since throwing down the Television Championship as he will be the guest of the Abraham Washington Show. World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho w/ Women’s Champion Gail Kim def. Kofi Kingston in a non-title match
Kofi Kingston continues to prove that he can hang with the top stars of the company as he put on an awesome match with the World Heavyweight Champion and sure fire future Hall of Famer, Chris Jericho. Kofi has a much more aggressive attitude and style ever since having his cash in ruined and it showed tonight as Jericho retreated out of the ring for breathers numerous times. Kingston hit him with a suicide dive on his third and looked to be in complete control. However as he went for Trouble in Paradise, Jericho ducked and nailed the Codebreaker to put away Kingston. Chris Jericho gets to his feet as he has just beaten another top WWE Superstar, less than 24 hours after beating Edge. The Best in the World continue to look stronger with every passing match.
Speaking of Edge, the Rated R Superstar is shown on the screen because we will have an update on his condition up next. Commercial Break Returning, a recap is shown of Edge missing the Spear and crashing into the turnbuckle last night at the Bash. It is said that he suffered a dislocated shoulder and had to have it popped back into place last night. He will not miss a significant amount of time and will be back at Raw next week, but won’t be competing in the ring again just yet. Mickie James def. Layla w/ Divas Champion Michelle McCoolThe team of LayCool has considered Mickie James to be a thorn in their sides ever since Michelle McCool won the Divas Championship back. Tonight, James looked to get back in contention for the belt after McCool beat her last week under shady circumstances. After a solid match, James kept her down for the count of three following the Mick Kick. The Tulsa crowd popped as Mickie James picks up a much needed win over at least one member of LayCool. Michelle McCool attempts to sneak in and attack Mickie, but she turns around and catches McCool in the act. The Divas Champion stops in her tracks and rolls out of the ring.
John Cena is shown walking towards the arena because the huge main event is up next! Commercial Break Returning, John “Bradshaw” Layfield is shown in his office on the phone. He says something to the person about them almost being here. Could this have to do with JBL’s big announcement tonight? John Cena def. Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio w/ William Regal to become the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship
An action packed main event wrapped up Raw tonight as three of the very best that Raw has to offer squared off. Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio worked together in the early stages, taking turns and double teaming John Cena. Sheamus soon turned on that alliance and began to be the dominant force that he has been for months. He threw both Cena and Del Rio around and looked like he was going to head to SummerSlam for a title shot. Del Rio locked him into the Cross Armbreaker from out of nowhere though. Sheamus would not submit and used his strength to get to his feet, pull Del Rio up and powerbomb him down. He then charged at Cena, who back body dropped him out of the ring. Del Rio got to his feet and was met with an Attitude Adjustment that gave Cena the victory. As the bell sounds, John Cena throws his hands up in the air and celebrates his huge victory. Sheamus is furious on the outside when the cameras cut to show Chris Jericho looking furious in his locker room. Jericho thought he was done with Cena after King of the Ring but he has one more date with him at SummerSlam.
John “Bradshaw” Layfield is shown walking towards the arena because the General Manager’s big announcement is next! Commercial Break A promo for Smackdown this Friday is shown. Last night at the Bash, CM Punk retained the WWE Championship as he defied the odds and defeated five other Superstars. However, after the match Kurt Angle returned to the WWE for the first time since 2006 and took out the entire Straight Edge Society. Kurt Angle will be on Smackdown this Friday!
John “Bradshaw” Layfield walks out to the ring to cheers as he does his Texas two-step. He enters the ring and waits for the crowd to quiet down some before speaking. He says that he knows he teased everyone earlier tonight by telling them he had an announcement to make and the time is now to deliver. He claims that Raw is his show to run and he is willing to do whatever it takes to make it the best that it’s ever been in its near 20 year existence. So he saw that last night Kurt Angle returned and is a part of the Smackdown roster. “I can’t have that be the case so I’ve gone out and signed a major Superstar to the Raw roster.” The crowd cheers loudly at this but instead of a new Superstar, the theme of the World Heavyweight Champion hits as the Best in the World come out and get in the ring. Chris Jericho speaks first saying that JBL has been the highlight of unfair tonight. “First you put me in a match with Kofi Kingston, a man that I beat a few weeks ago with the title on the line. Then you makes a Triple Threat match to determine the number one contender for my title, even putting in my teammate Alberto Del Rio to try and drive a wedge between us. Now, you’ve gone out and signed another Superstar that could potentially face me for the title. It’s like you have a grudge against us.” JBL says that’s not the case, he’s just trying to make sure that Raw is still the flagship program. The Best in the World look intimidating until the theme of John Cena hits. The new number one contender walks out to the stage, still feeling the effects of the Triple Threat match, and by his side is Kofi Kingston. John Cena tells Chris Jericho that he needs to not attempt to intimidate or threaten John “Bradshaw” Layfield just because he’s signed a new talent to the roster. Jericho tells Cena to shut up because there are six of them in the ring and just two men on the stage. Not only that, but its two men who he’s defeated. He dares Cena and Kingston to try and do something about the Best in the World running things in the ring. Cena looks at Kofi and both men shrug before sprinting to the ring. All hell breaks loose as Cena and Kingston show some major guts as they try and take on six Superstars. However, the numbers game hurts them and the Best in the World take both men down. The crowd erupts as the theme song of Jeff Hardy hits! He runs out to the ring and springboards into the ring, wiping out Jack Swagger, Drew McIntyre and Alberto Del Rio. Cena and Kingston manage to get back to their feet and the three Superstars clear the ring of the Best in the World. They retreat halfway up the ramp as the crowd roars for the three in the ring. JBL speaks into his microphone announcing the new Raw Superstar, Jeff Hardy! Less than 24 hours after losing his spot on Smackdown, Jeff Hardy has joined the Raw roster! © World Wrestling Entertainment 2010

The Bash Solid way to kick things off with Alberto Del Rio going over Kofi Kingston. Expected outcome since you’re still building Best in the World as a dominant force. I can’t stand Del Rio nowadays, but I was all about him in 2012. If you can keep his character interesting and not dull, basically the opposite of real life, I’d like to see him go far. Completely forgot about Ashley Valance’s existence. She was so hot. Much like the previous match, it was entirely expected for the Best in the World representative to get the win. That’s not bad, though. I love Gail Kim as the Women’s Champion, and the idea of AJ Lee working her way to the top and dethroning Gail is sexy. Awesome ECW Championship match. Bryan Danielson and Drew McIntyre would have been able to create magic with the Extreme Rules stipulation. Danielson retaining was the right call, and I loved the finish with the kendo stick. McIntyre is the only Best in the World member that I expect to take a loss on this show. Onto the next match, I could have seen this going either way, but The Miz winning was fine. Like I said about Del Rio earlier, Miz was my absolute favorite around this time in real life. Hope to see him win the WWE Championship at SummerSlam, whoever he meets. Great World Heavyweight Championship match, and Chris Jericho retaining was for the better. I suspect a rematch to take place at SummerSlam between the two. While they are two big stars in this diary, Sheamus versus Ted DiBiase Jr. doesn’t sound all that appealing to me. Decent nonetheless, and a Sheamus victory was expected. I’m not really sure where DiBiase Jr. goes from here, but the sky is the limit for Sheamus. Ah, Ezekiel Jackson as a legitimate threat. Seems so ancient. Anywho, a decent contest between him and John Cena, and while I am not a fan of dirty finish on Pay Per Views, this worked well in my mind. Lastly, a huge WWE Championship main event. The pre match note sounded funny with the way you wrote, “and Rey Mysterio!” The match itself was great, and CM Punk retaining was as well. Oh, sh*t! Kurt Angle! Massive way to end the show, though this raises a lot of questions. If Punk works Angle at SummerSlam, which I fully expect, what happens with Miz?
Monday Night RAW Alright, Bash fallout. Good opening segment to announce the Triple Threat main event. Should be a good one, and I’m also looking forward to John Bradshaw Layfield’s announcement. Mr. Kennedy versus Elijah Burke doesn’t seem like the strongest opening contest as they both seem really out of place in a 2010 diary. Nonetheless, a fine win for Kennedy. The tension between Jericho and Del Rio is interesting, but I don’t expect it to a lead to anything more. The Tables, Ladders and Chairs match that was made last week slipped my mind. Having that match on free television may be a bit much, but regardless, it could legit be one of the best matches this diary has ever seen. Glad the AirBourne Angels went over here as I would like to see them become the new champions on SmackDown. Chris Jericho defeating Kofi Kingston was expected. A great first hour main event, though. Mickie James going over Layla was the right call to build toward a Micke/McCool Divas Championship match down the line. LayCool <3. John Cena becoming the #1 contender was predictable, but still the right call. I’m really curious as to where Sheamus ends up for SummerSlam since I don’t expect him to be involved in the Best in the World angle. Lastly, fantastic closing segment with Jeff Hardy making his return to the RAW brand. Very much looking forward to seeing how this plays out heading into SummerSlam. Two great shows, Kev.

July 20th, 2010 | Barton Coliseum in Little Rock, Arkansas | Attendance: 8,175 The ECW intro video plays before cutting to a video package of Wade Barrett winning the Television Title and throwing it down last week. It then shows Bryan Daniels retaining the ECW Championship against Drew McIntyre at the Bash and finally gets revenge on him. Cutting to the arena, Joey Styles and Byron Saxton introduce tonight’s show and wonder what’s next for Bryan Danielson.The ring is set up for the always entertaining Abraham Washington Show. Aksana introduces the most charismatic talk show host in the history of the WWE, Abraham Washington. Washington makes his way to the ring doing his fist pump before getting in the ring. He welcomes the crowd to his show, which he remarks is the best in the history of the WWE. Better than Piper’s Pit, The King’s Court, Carlito’s Cabana, The Cutting Edge and every other one combined. Tonight, his guest is the fastest rising star in ECW history, the last Television Champion and probably the next ECW Champion, Wade Barrett. Barrett comes out and gets in the ring. Washington asks, “Everyone has been wondering, why you threw down the Television Championship last week?” Barrett responds by saying that he made it clear last week. The Television Title is not his goal in ECW, the ECW Championship is and he demands a shot at Bryan Danielson. This one on one interview is cut short as Ezekiel Jackson interrupts and enters the ring with Barrett. Jackson says that he doesn’t know who Wade Barrett thinks he is because he is not in line for a title shot. Jackson says that the next shot is hit because he has yet to get his rematch. Barrett and Jackson get face to face as the crowd is on the edge of their seat. John Morrison’s music hits as he cuts off the war that is about to go down in the ring. He steps onto the stage with a microphone. Morrison says that nobody becomes the number one contender because they are big, mean or monstrous. In his mind the number one contender should be the most athletic and entertaining member of the ECW roster. He wants to face Bryan Danielson at SummerSlam in a match that nobody will ever forget. Abraham Washington tells him to shut up and shouts that his show is not supposed to turn into this. Jackson gets in Washington’s face and he apologizes and gets out of the ring with Aksana. Theodore Long’s theme hits as the General Manager of ECW joins John Morrison on the stage. Long says that he’s been a General Manager for a long time and he’s had to deal with situations where a lot of contenders for a title stake their claim. However, he’s come up with a plan. Tonight, John Morrison, Ezekiel Jackson and Wade Barrett will compete in three separate singles matches and whichever man is the most impressive will be awarded a title shot at SummerSlam! Long heads to the back as the crowd likes this idea. Commercial Break Wade Barrett def. Zack Ryder w/ CourtneyWade Barrett stayed in the ring during the commercial before Zack Ryder walked out to a big pop from the crowd. Ryder has improved greatly since embracing this new character and joining ECW, but, Barrett continues to be a dominating force. Ryder put up a good fight in a match that lasted about six minutes, but Barrett planted him with the Wasteland to end it. The crowd boos loudly as Wade Barrett celebrates his win and boy did he look impressive. He signals around his waist that he’s going to be the ECW Champion soon.
Backstage, Ashley Valance is standing by with the ECW Champion Bryan Danielson. She asks for his thoughts on his multiple challengers tonight. Danielson says that he loves competition and he’d be more than willing to face any of those guys. He’s excited to move past the Drew McIntyre saga and into something exciting and he’ll be watching the three matches very closely tonight. Commercial Break
A promo airs for this Friday’s Smackdown which will feature Kurt Angle on WWE television for the first time since 2006 after he returned at the Bash and attacked CM Punk and the Straight Edge Society!
In the back, Ezekiel Jackson and Drew McIntyre are shown. McIntyre is pumping up Jackson for the main event tonight, telling him that there’s a reason he was chosen by Chris Jericho to be part of the Best in the World and it’s because he’s one of the best. He wants to see Jackson win and break Bryan Danielson in half. John Morrison def. Paul Burchill w/ Katie Lea Burchill
For nearly a year and a half now, Paul Burchill has been an angry man who is pretty brutal with his opponents and he took some of that brutality to John Morrison tonight. These two put on a very good match that the crowd on the edge of their seats, especially after Burchill connected with the C4! He covered but Morrison got his foot on the ropes. Burchill thought that he won so he began to celebrate which allowed Morrison to hit the Moonlight Drive and pick up a win. The crowd cheers for John Morrison as, while Wade Barrett had an easier time with his opponent, Morrison showed a lot of heart and smarts to pull out the victory.
A graphic is shown reminding everyone that Ezekiel Jackson will be facing a mystery opponent in his attempt to impress Theodore Long. Commercial Break Theodore Long is seen watching tonight’s show in his office when Joe Hennig enters. He says that he’s not happy with the Television Championship being thrown down by Wade Barrett and that he wants to face him once more. Long says that he’s seen the destruction that Barrett has caused and asks if Hennig is sure about this. Hennig says he is and Long makes the match for next week. Ezekiel Jackson w/ Drew McIntyre def. Kaval
The mystery opponent in the final match turned out to be another of ECW’s hottest stars, Kaval. The stiff kicking, high flying Superstar looked to be a mismatch for the mammoth Ezekiel Jackson, but he took it right to the former ECW Champion. His offense was something that took Jackson by surprise and Kaval even hit the Warrior’s Way double stomp but Jackson became the first person to kick out of that. Jackson would eventually flatten Kaval with the Book of Ezekiel. “Domination” plays as Ezekiel Jackson stands tall, looking just as impressive as John Morrison and Wade Barrett did tonight.
The celebration is cut short by the theme of the ECW Champion Bryan Danielson! He comes out with the ECW Title around his waist as Jackson and Drew McIntyre do not look pleased. He has a microphone and states that he is just out here to reveal the decision that Theodore Long has made regarding the ECW Title and SummerSlam. “I watched all three matches tonight and saw the last one in Theodore Long’s office and he just could not decide which guy was the most impressive. Wade Barrett was pretty dominating, John Morrison was courageous in his comeback and Ezekiel Jackson overcame a performance from Kaval that Jackson wasn’t expecting. In conclusion, the General Manager has decided that I will defend the ECW Championship at SummerSlam against Ezekiel Jackson!” Jackson raises his arms in the air as Wade Barrett’s theme hits and he comes to the stage. Danielson speaks, “Wait Wade. Before you say anything, I wasn’t done. Not only will I be defending against Ezekiel Jackson, but I will also defend against you and John Morrison in a Fatal Four Way match!” The crowd cheers at this huge ECW Title match that has been signed for SummerSlam. Another Champion would be upset at defending against three challengers, but Danielson seems to welcome the challenge. © World Wrestling Entertainment 2010

Alright, ECW. A good opening promo to set things up for the show to determine who will get an ECW Championship match. I was thinking we'd have a straight up triple threat match to determine the number one contender, but I guess not. Anyway, Wade Barrett obviously beats Zack Ryder here in the opening contest and I'd like to see him get that title shot. Then again, I could see Ezekiel Jackson getting a shot. Another obvious win for John Morrison over Paul Burchill, as well as Ezekiel Jackson over Kaval... finally, the announcement of who will get the title shot. A fatal four way match, eh? That actually doesn't sound that bad and I could see either Wade Barrett or Ezekiel Jackson taking the belt away from Bryan Danielson, that is if he does lose it at all. A solid episode of ECW, although it seemed kind of short. Then again, it is an hour long show.

Alright, time for a little catch-up. Let's begin.
The Bash Figured Kofi Kingston and Alberto Del Rio would start off the night. Good opening match with Del Rio going over. I expect this feud will continue. Good match featuring April Lee, Serena Mancini and Gail Kim. I was surprised that Kim won the title, but I guess it helps Best in the World's momentum. Besides, it sets up an eventual Lee/Kim match-up, pitting the teacher against the student. So smart decision on that part. Not surprised to see Bryan Danielson retain the ECW Championship over Drew McIntyre. But still an excellent match that puts Danielson over as the ECW brand's top face. Figured the Miz would go over Christian. Looks like the King Miz the Awesome is onto bigger things now. Hopefully, Christian can bounce back from this. Right move to have Chris Jericho retain the World Heavyweight Championship over Edge, as it continues his and Best in the World's momentum. Great match featuring Ted Dibiase Jr. and Sheamus. It could have gone either way, but I guess Sheamus winning was the best decision at this point. Excellent match featuring John Cena and Ezekiel Jackson. Smart move to have it end in a disqualification as it still makes Jackson look strong. That's a good thing as it still makes Jackson look dominant. Finally, the main event featuring CM Punk, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio, Shelton Benjamin, Randy Orton and the Big Show for the WWE Championship. I figured Punk would retain. It looks like Big Show is gone as I think you've mentioned he was looking to retire. But what about Jeff Hardy? More on that later. But the biggest surprise being the return of Kurt Angle to the WWE! Awesome! It also sets up the Punk/Angle feud, which will be gold! Pretty predictable show, but still fun.
Monday Night RAW Great opening segment featuring the three victors of the RAW side of the Bash. You have John Cena, Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio each making a case as to why they should get a shot at Chris Jericho's World Heavyweight Championship. Each one has just cause to get a shot. Already, we have a stellar main event planned out. Great match featuring former ECW rivals Mr. Kennedy and Elijah Burke. Quite a throwback to their feud, only the roles are reversed with Kennedy the heel and Burke the face. For me, it sucks to see Kennedy languishing in the midcard still. At this point in his WWE career, he should be a main event guy. But that's just me. And as long as you're using him, it's fine with me. Enjoyable segment featuring Best in the World as it teases some inner strife in the ranks. It also sets up Jericho taking on Kofi Kingston in a non-title match. Great tag team match featuring the Airbourne Angels and the Hart Trilogy. The match result could've gone either way. But it's a good preview for the TLC match featuring them, Londrick and the Dudebusters for the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship this upcoming SmackDown. That's going to be a match-of-the-year candidate no doubt. Right call I suppose for Jericho going over Kingston. I'm just curious as to where Kingston goes from here. Looks like Edge is going to be out of action for a while. Good match featuring Mickie James and Layla. Good call to have James go over as it builds her up as a contender for Michelle McCool's Diva's Championship. Obvious call to have Cena go over Sheamus and Del Rio. It wouldn't have made sense to have either of the latter two win as it would've been a heel vs. heel match-up. But now it sets up Jericho and Cena at SummerSlam for the World Heavyweight Championship. But the biggest surprise was the announcement of Jeff Hardy signing with RAW after leaving SmackDown. It's going to be interesting to see what Hardy does on Monday nights. Great show!
ECW on Sci-Fi Interesting way to open the show with Abraham Washington interviewing Wade Barrett over his actions last week of throwing down the Television Championship. Once again, Barrett makes his intentions clear that he wants the ECW Championship. But this brings out two former ECW Champions in Ezekiel Jackson and John Morrison, who make their claim to getting a shot at the title. It sets up the night's card to see who should get a shot with each man wrestling with the most impressive win being the new #1 contender to Bryan Danielson's ECW Championship. Barrett going over Zack Ryder is the obvious call as Barrett has more going for him right now. Morrison over Paul Burchill was another obvious call, but it made Morrison look better as he actually worked harder at putting his opponent away. Jackson over Kaval was again obvious, but Kaval put up a good fight. Now it's decision time. Instead of one challenger, it's going to be three challengers. It will be Danielson defending his title against Barrett, Jackson and Morrison at SummerSlam. That's going to be an epic match as it features ECW's top four stars going at it. I'm looking forward to that. Great show!

July 23rd, 2010 | Barton Coliseum in Little Rock, Arkansas | Attendance: 8,715Smackdown opens with a video package highlighting CM Punk retaining the WWE Championship in the Six Pack Challenge at The Bash. It then shows the return of Kurt Angle, who cleaned house and took out the Straight Edge Society. The commentary team of Matt Striker and Todd Grisham welcome everyone to the show as it promises to be huge. Tonight, the show will open with ten Superstars competing in a battle royal to determine an opponent for CM Punk to defend his title against next week right here on Smackdown.
The Miz’s theme hits as the 2010 King of the Ring makes his way to the ring with a smug look on his face. A recap is shown from The Bash when The Miz once again defeated Christian with a rollup and a handful of tights. He gets a microphone and begins to talk about Christian. He says that people called his King of the Ring victory a fluke but he went out at the Bash and beat Christian once again so now nobody can say anything. He is in the midst of the most successful year of his career and there is nothing the WWE Universe or anybody in the back can do about it. “Shortly, you are about to witness a battle royal for the right to get a WWE Title match next week on Smackdown. However, you know who won’t be participating? Me! I will be sitting at ringside on commentary because I have my WWE Title shot in the bag already. It is guaranteed for me at SummerSlam because I won the King of the Ring. And you know why I won King of the Ring? Because I’m the Miz…and I’m” Miz is cut off by theme song of the man he defeated at The Bash, Christian. Captain Charisma comes out to a huge ovation as he has a microphone in hand. He talks while walking down to the ring. Christian admits that The Miz has now defeated him twice in a row on Pay-Per-View and things continue to not go his way since he returned at the start of the year. “I failed at the Royal Rumble and I couldn’t win the big one at No Way Out or WrestleMania. I was unable to win the big one in my specialty Ladder match at Extreme Rules and I failed to win King of the Ring or beat you two nights ago. However, that doesn’t mean that I’m giving up. I know that you had to pull my tights to beat me at The Bash but I’m not looking back.” Christian says that he’s about to compete in this battle royal, but he’d like to get his hands on Miz beforehand. Miz gets out of the ring and shouts that Christian should stay away. Christian dares him to enter the ring but Cody Rhodes’ theme hits as the “Prince of Pro Wrestling” comes out because the battle royal begins after the commercial. Commercial BreakReturning, WWE Champion CM Punk barges into Stephanie McMahon and Vickie Guerrero’s office. He is livid and shouts about Kurt Angle. Stephanie says that she signed Kurt Angle because it’s the best thing for Smackdown. CM Punk is still outraged and demands to know why, after beating five guys at the Bash, he has to defend his WWE Title next week. Vickie interjects saying that, like signing Kurt Angle, it’s in the best interest of Smackdown to put on title matches. Punk is furious as he exits. Christian wins a Battle Royal to become the number one contender for the WWE Championship
Besides Christian and Cody Rhodes, this Battle Royal included Goldust, Jack Swagger, R-Truth, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Shelton Benjamin, Tyler Black and William Regal. This played out like most battle royals with Truth and Goldust going out early on. Swagger and Regal worked as a unit to try and eliminate Black, but he managed to toss out both men. Rhodes snuck up behind him to eliminate him. Shortly after, Christian tossed out Rhodes, leaving the final four to be Orton, Christian, Benjamin and Mysterio. Orton and Benjamin continue to try and tear each other apart leading to them eliminating each other. Christian and Mysterio continued to go at it, nearly eliminating one another until Rey hit a hurricanrana, sending Christian over, but he stayed on the apron. Mysterio charged at him but Christian pulled the rope down. Both men were now hanging on the outside and began to kick each other. Christian won out with a kick that sent Mysterio to the mat. Christian pulls himself back into the ring as the WWE Universe cheers loudly. He has finally earned himself another shot at gold and the only question now is, can he finally come through at the big moment?
Backstage, CM Punk is shown looking furious at the monitor. After retaining the WWE Championship in a Six Pack Challenge, things have just gone downhill for him. Commercial BreakReturning, a video package is shown of the TLC III match that occurred on Smackdown in 2001. A graphic is then shown for the main event tonight as the Dudebusters put the WWE Tag Team Titles on the line against The Hart Trilogy, Paul London and Brian Kendrick and the AirBourne Angels. AJ Lee def. Alicia FoxAlicia Fox’s Raw contract recently expired and Stephanie McMahon was quick to scoop up the talented Diva. She ran into a wall tonight however against one of the hottest Divas on the roster. New Women’s Champion Gail Kim was shown watching on a monitor in the back during the match and she witnessed her former protégé pin Fox after a shining wizard. AJ Lee celebrates with the WWE Universe as she continues to try and realize her dream of winning the Women’s Championship. She’s come close on two occasions already.
Randy Orton is shown barging into the General Manager’s office. He says that this issue with Shelton Benjamin has caused him to lose at the Bash and during the battle royal tonight so he needs it to end. He wants a match with Shelton tonight. Stephanie tells him that he doesn’t just come in and demand anything; however, she likes the idea. She tells him that the match is up next. Commercial Break Ashley Valance is standing by with the WWE Tag Team Champions, The Dudebusters. She asks which two of the three men are going to compete in the TLC match tonight. Curt Hawkins speaks saying that if they reveal which two are participating, then it defeats the purpose of their Freebird rule use. Trent Barreta says that Ashley and everyone else will find out at the same time as the other teams and that’s when the match starts. Shelton Benjamin def. Randy Orton
A physical bout between two men who continue to try and rip each other’s heads off. Randy Orton was able to win at the King of the Ring, but Shelton Benjamin got a dose of revenge tonight. These two continue to hit each other with everything that they have and their encounters are very physical. A dragon whip kick from Shelton gave him the upper hand and, after a Paydirt, he evened the score with the Viper. The bell sounds as Shelton Benjamin celebrates his victory along with the crowd. He’s wanted this revenge ever since Randy Orton punted his best friend Charlie Haas in the skull and now he’s got it. Orton is now up though and he turns Shelton around and delivers an RKO! Orton steps back as Shelton slowly stirs. He stalks him until he gets to his hands and knees and Orton drills him with a sickening punt! Shelton Benjamin is motionless in the ring as Randy Orton continues to be vicious.
Commercial Break A promo for this Monday’s episode of Raw is shown. Jeff Hardy made a stunning debut on Raw this past Monday but what will happen when he’s around for an entire episode? Plus, a week after dislocating his shoulder, Edge returns to Raw to give the WWE Universe an update on his condition. United States Champion Jack Swagger and William Regal w/ Women’s Champion Gail Kim def. Rey Mysterio and Tyler Black
An excellent tag team match tonight between four of the best wrestlers on the roster. Tyler Black enlisted Rey Mysterio to assist him against the Best in the World on a wwe.com exclusive. Jack Swagger and William Regal worked great as a tag team as they kept Rey in their corner and worked him over. Once Rey was able to make the tag though, Black came in and did great but a low blow behind the referee’s back allowed Swagger to powerbomb Black and win. Jack Swagger has once again pinned Tyler Black, although it was with some underhanded assistance. He exits with William Regal and Gail Kim, celebrating while Rey Mysterio checks on Black.
Serena Mancini is seen watching on a monitor and she clearly doesn’t like the sight of Gail Kim with the Women’s Championship. CM Punk gets her attention and tells the Straight Edge Society that while his focus is on Christian and next week’s title defense, he wants a front row seat to Kurt Angle’s big return to Smackdown and he wants them all to join him.
The AirBourne Angels, members of the Raw brand, are shown walking to the ring as the huge Tables, Ladders and Chairs match will main event, next! Commercial Break Returning, Ashley Valance is backstage with Christian. She asks him about the victory in the battle royal and his title shot next week. Christian says that ever since Extreme Rules, he feels like all he needs is “one more match.” One more shot and he believes that this is the time for him. Next week in Corpus Christi, Texas, he plans on becoming the WWE Champion for the first time in his career. Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship: The Dudebusters [c] w/ Caylen Croft def. The AirBourne Angels, The Hart Trilogy w/ Natalya Neidhart & Paul London and Brian Kendrick to retain the titles
These four teams got a chance to shine in the main event and they delivered. While this wasn’t on par with the TLC matches of the Attitude Era, it was great. The fans were treated to some big spots including a 450 splash from Justin Angel off of a ladder, an elbow off a ladder from Curt Hawkins onto Harry Smith who had a chair on his face, Brian Kendrick hitting The Kendrick through a table while running up a ladder and the Hart Trilogy nailed the Hart Attack with a steel chair. Each team came close to pulling down the belts and once Caylen Croft tried to get involved, he was tossed from ringside by the officials. In the end, Evan Bourne had his fingertips on the belts when Hawkins nailed him with a low blow. This allowed Trent Barreta to pull down the belts. The WWE Universe boos as the Dudebusters have defied the odds and retained their belts in a hellacious fatal four way TLC match. Caylen Croft comes down to celebrate with his teammates, who look like they’ve been in a car wreck. One has to believe that the Dudebusters have solidified themselves as one of the best tag teams in recent memory. Commercial Break
The theme of Kurt Angle hits as the Olympic Gold Medalist comes out to a massive pop from the WWE Universe. They have clearly missed him as he enters the ring. He can’t even speak as the crowd is still buzzing. When he finally is able to talk he starts by saying that it is good to be back. Kurt claims that he’s been at home the past few months and he saw Christian return and set his sights on winning the big one and it got him thinking. He started thinking about how he hasn’t held the WWE Championship in a very long time. The crowd begins to cheer as Angle says that the last time he held the WWE Title was in 2003 and it’s been far too long. Before he can continue the theme of the WWE Champion himself hits as CM Punk and the Straight Edge Society interrupt. Punk starts a slow clap which he explains is to congratulate Kurt Angle on his successful return at The Bash where he got lucky and beat them up. Punk tells him to cherish that moment because it will never happen again. “You see Kurt, you came back with all of these hopes and dreams that you’ll be the WWE Champion again, but your timing couldn’t be more off. The WWE Champion is not someone weak like Jeff Hardy anymore and it’s not someone who you’ve beaten in this ring before. The WWE Champion is me and that’s unfortunate for you and your dreams.” Kurt Angle smirks and responds by saying that the only reason he hasn’t beaten Punk yet is because he hasn’t had the chance to. He calls Punk a punk and dares him to come into the ring because we’ll see a repeat of The Bash. Punk shakes his head, “Kurt, I’m the WWE Champion; I don’t just do what people like you say. If I did, I wouldn’t be straight edge. However, I am and it’s one of the things that makes me better than you Kurt. Now, the big issue here is that one, you attacked us at the Bash and two, you want the WWE Title that is currently mine. The problem is; you’ve done nothing to earn a title shot so you don’t get one.” Kurt responds by saying that CM Punk has, however, done enough to earn a beating from him. Kurt Angle begins to head up the ramp but is met by Joseph Matthews and Drew Gallows. Angle takes a bit of a beating but hits Matthews with a low blow before nailing Gallows with a big overhead belly to belly suplex. He then looks for CM Punk but the WWE Champion and Serena Mancini have exited to the back. Kurt Angle yells as the WWE Universe gives him a big ovation. Kurt Angle is back on Smackdown and with a vengeance! © World Wrestling Entertainment 2010

nice seeds to be planted for Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SMACKDOWN, we got Jeff Hardy on the RAW brand getting the World Heavyweight Championship, I think it's well needed so Chris Jericho and his Best in the World Crew can be shut up by Hardy once and for all, Angle on SMACKDOWN gaining the WWE Championship should be good too, A TLC Match on SMACKDOWN, liked that idea, never happened since 2001 and what a way to have that on a Free TV. ECW is looking pretty good too with Danielson challenging Morrison, Jackson and Barrett in a Fatal-Four Way Match for the ECW Championship, so RAW. SMACKDOWN and ECW are looking good, not to mention Christian gets another WWE Championship shot against CM Punk. Maybe Christian can win the WWE Championship for a good run, I hope.

July 26th, 2010 | AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas | Attendance: 16,581
- The weekly Raw intro video plays, now featuring Jeff Hardy, before the camera pans around the arena and Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome everyone to the show. Tonight, Jeff Hardy has promised to address the WWE Universe, we will hear from Edge following his injury and Kofi Kingston will be in action!
- “No More Words” by Endeverafter hits as the crowd erupts for the arrival of Raw’s newest Superstar; the two time World Champion Jeff Hardy. Jeff Hardy comes down to the ring sporting no face paint as he enters and gets a microphone. Jeff says that it is great to be a member of the Raw roster again as, while he loved his time on Smackdown, he got pretty tired of Vickie Guerrero. That gets the crowd cheering more before he continues. “It was pretty clear that the Best in the World have a problem with me coming over to Raw and they saw last week that I have no problem putting them in their place.” Jeff speaks about how Vickie Guerrero’s grudge against him prevented him from getting fair shots on Smackdown but John “Bradshaw” Layfield has assured him that will not be the case here on Raw. He does however realize that he left fighting with the Straight Edge Society and walked right into the Best in the World. Just like he did on Smackdown though, he has his eyes on the top prize which is the World Heavyweight Championship around here.
- The theme of John Cena hits as the crowd gives the usual mixed reaction for him. He gets in the ring and shakes hands with Jeff Hardy before speaking. Cena mentions that he respects the hell out of Jeff and is excited that they’re finally on the same show, however, Jeff is talking about going for the World Heavyweight Title that he’s going to win at SummerSlam. Jeff Hardy says that he means no disrespect and he understands that John is the number one contender, he just wants the next shot after SummerSlam. Chris Jericho’s music is heard as the Best in the World walks out to the stage and takes up the entire entrance. Jericho begins by saying “I have no idea what the two of you think is going on, but neither one of you is going to be the World Heavyweight Champion anytime soon. At SummerSlam John, I will defeat you just like I did at Backlash and Jeff, if you get a title shot, then you will go down as well. Neither of you are the best in the world at what you do like myself and everyone on this stage is.” John Cena responds by saying that the Best in the World should put their money where their mouths are and face him and Jeff Hardy in a tag team match. Jericho says that the Best in the World have no problem proving how good they are so they can have a tag match against Alberto Del Rio and Jack Swagger tonight. The crowd pops as Jeff Hardy and John Cena high five for tonight’s big main event.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Returning, the Best in the World is shown walking back to their dressing room when General Manager John “Bradshaw” Layfield stops them. “Chris, unfortunately tonight’s team won’t be Alberto Del Rio and Jack Swagger as Del Rio is already scheduled for a match tonight. In his place will be you Mr. World Heavyweight Champion.” Jericho is not happy about this news as the camera cuts away.
- Kofi Kingston def. Carlito >> Two of the most athletic Superstars on the Raw roster went at it in the opening contest. This was a very good contest as both men showed off their high flying skill on numerous occasions. Carlito came close a few times, but Kofi Kingston was as resilient as ever. These two got a decent amount of time and Kofi picked up the win following Trouble in Paradise.
- Kofi Kingston celebrates his win and grabs a microphone. He informs the WWE Universe that just because he suffered a setback at the Bash when Alberto Del Rio stole a victory from him, he’s not done with the Best in the World by a longshot. He says that he’s coming for Del Rio and he challenges him to a rematch next Monday!
- ===Commercial Break===
- In the back, Mickie James is shown talking with Tiffany who will be in action later tonight. LayCool comes up to them, ready to deliver insults. Michelle McCool says, “Tiffany, don’t bother wasting time trying to get advice from this loser. If you remember, she lost to me two weeks ago.” Mickie responds by saying that she beat Layla last week, so maybe Layla is the loser. LayCool get offended and McCool says the one thing Mickie doesn’t lose is pounds being the pig that she is. James slaps McCool across the face which leads to a pull-apart brawl between all four ladies as Tiffany assisted Mickie.
- The Airbourne Angels def. The Usos >> Before the match, a recap was shown of the Tables, Ladders and Chairs match from this past Friday where the Airbourne Angels came within an inch of becoming the WWE Tag Team Champions. Tonight, the Usos continue their improvement by taking the Angels to the limit, but an Airbourne onto Jules Uso was enough to seal the deal.
- The crowd pops as The Airbourne Angels get back on track after suffering a heartbreaking loss this past Friday on Smackdown. One has to believe that the Airbourne Angels are not far away from another title shot.
- The parking lot is shown as a car pulls up and out steps the Rated R Superstar, Edge! The crowd pops even though Edge’s arm is in a sling. The seven time World Champion will address the WWE Universe during an edition of the Cutting Edge later tonight.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Returning, Alberto Del Rio makes his way out to the ring with William Regal following closely behind. He gets in the ring and grabs a microphone. “Kofi Kingston, you must be stupid if you want to step into the ring again with the great Alberto Del Rio. I’ll gladly accept your challenge for next week, but I’m tired of people saying that I got lucky or that I stole the win. I’m going to prove that I’m better than you so let’s make next week a two out of three falls match. I will beat you two more times and then you’ll learn to stay away from the Best in the World.”
- Alberto Del Rio w/ William Regal def. TJ Wilson w/ Harry Smith & Natalya Neidhart >> TJ Wilson is no slouch in singles competition as he even earned a World Heavyweight Title shot last year and took it to the champion at the time, CM Punk. Tonight, he held his own with Alberto Del Rio but the Mexican Aristocrat focused on Wilson’s arm throughout the course of the match. Wilson got a big near fall, but once Del Rio was able to put on the Cross Armbreaker, Wilson was forced to tap out.
- Alberto Del Rio raises his arms in victory as the WWE Universe showers him with boos. Both he and Kofi Kingston pick up momentum heading into their big two out of three falls match next week, which was confirmed by John “Bradshaw” Layfield to the announce team during the match.
- Chris Jericho is seen watching on a monitor along with the rest of the Best in the World and he has a grin on his face. He turns and tells the team that things like that are why he chose each of them. They need to continue to be the best and they can do that once again by beating John Cena and Jeff Hardy tonight.
- ===Commercial Break===
- A promo for Smackdown this Friday is shown. After winning a battle royal last week, Christian gets one more shot at the big prize when he faces CM Punk for the WWE Championship. Plus, Kurt Angle will be in attendance and one can only imagine what his agenda is.
- “Coming Home” hits as the “Rated R Superstar” walks out to a huge pop from the WWE Universe. He gets in the ring, set up for the Cutting Edge, and soaks in the reaction before speaking. He says that he struggled throughout 2009, the least successful year of his career in a long time. However, as the calendar turned to 2010 he got back on track by winning the WWE Championship at No Way Out. “After winning the WWE Title, what followed was some of the best stuff that I’ve ever done in the WWE. I got to reign as champion and put on great matches until Chris Jericho and the Best in the World took what means the most to me.” He mentions that when trying to win it back he made a mistake and missed a Spear that sent him into the turnbuckle. That move caused him to dislocate his shoulder and even though it’s been popped back into place, it’s still causing him some pain so he wants to get it back to 100% and then he’s coming back for Jericho and the World Heavyweight Championship. The crowd cheers for this though they turn to boos as Sheamus’ theme hits.
- The “Celtic Warrior” comes out with a microphone and says that he couldn’t help himself; he had to come out here after listening in the back. “Edge, you’re one of the greatest Superstars in the history of the WWE. You’ve been a World Champion seven times, a tag team champion over a dozen times and Intercontinental Champion five times. You’re somewhat of a legend, which is great. You know who else is a legend? Batista. Last time he was around, I put him on the shelf. The Undertaker is definitely an icon in this business and I took him out too.” The crowd and Edge are wondering what Sheamus is getting at. Sheamus says that he’s in this business to make an impact and he’s done a good job of that so far, but right now Edge is the next guy that he needs to put on the shelf. Sheamus charges at Edge and nails him with a Brogue Kick. The crowd boos as Sheamus lifts Edge and plants him with the Celtic Cross. Sheamus takes Edge’s arm out of the sling and stomps on it! He goes outside and grabs a steel chair. He opens it and places it around Edge’s arm before stomping on it again! Edge writhes in pain as Sheamus has done major damage to another WWE Superstar.
- Returning, a recap of Sheamus’ heinous attack on Edge is shown before the cameras show trainers working on Edge’s arm in the back. Edge is still in a huge amount of pain.
- Ted Dibiase Jr. def. Matt Hardy >> Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler was on commentary during this bout. The announcers kept mentioning that both men in the ring are legitimate threats to Dolph’s Intercontinental Title, which Dolph continually shrugged off. The match was decent and Ted Dibiase won after hitting the Dream Street.
- Ted Dibiase Jr. enjoys his win along with the WWE Universe while Dolph Ziggler continues to downplay the idea of Dibiase being a future challenger for his Intercontinental Championship.
- Ashley Valance is backstage trying to get a word with Sheamus. She catches up to him and asks for an explaination on his attack on Edge. Sheamus smirks and says that he made it clear when it was out there. He’s here to make a lasting impact and he did just that again tonight.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Returning, an ad for ECW this week is shown. Two of the brightest stars in ECW go head to head for the first time ever when John Morrison steps into the ring with ECW Champion Bryan Danielson! Plus, Joe Hennig attempts to get revenge on Wade Barrett for taking and throwing down the Television Championship!
- Tiffany def. Melina >> Since signing back with the WWE, Tiffany has improved greatly in the ring. She showed it again tonight as she went toe to toe with one of the best Divas in recent memory, Melina. Melina did dominate a fair portion of the match, but Tiffany won after hitting a running cutter that she calls the Hot Body.
- Tiffany celebrates her win as the crowd cheers until LayCool sneak into the ring and attack her. They beat on her until Mickie James rushes out to the ring to make the save and LayCool scatter and retreat. It is clear that this is not over between these four divas.
- Jeff Hardy and John Cena are shown meeting up in the back. Two of the WWE’s biggest stars team up to face the World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho and the United States Champion Jack Swagger, next!
- ===Commercial Break===
- Returning, Michael Cole informs the fans that Edge has indeed reinjured his arm and won’t be able to wrestle for nearly a month. However, Edge has promised to be here next week on Raw to host the Cutting Edge with Sheamus as his guest!
- John Cena and Jeff Hardy def. World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho and United States Champion Jack Swagger w/ Women’s Champion Gail Kim via disqualification >> The fans were treated to a high energy main event as all four men delivered. Gail Kim got involved but was ejected by the official near the end. Chris Jericho and Jack Swagger cut the ring in half and really worked over John Cena until he broke out and made the hot tag to Jeff Hardy who tore the house down. Hardy set up Swagger for the Swanton Bomb, but Alberto Del Rio ran down and knocked him off the top causing the disqualification.
- Joining Alberto Del Rio was the rest of the Best in the World and they all put the boots to John Cena and Jeff Hardy. Ezekiel Jackson lifts Cena and plants him with Book of Ezekiel while Drew McIntyre hits the Future Shock on Hardy. Kofi Kingston runs down to the ring to a big pop from the crowd and hits McIntyre with Trouble in Paradise. He ducks a shot from Swagger and catches him too but the numbers game is too much. He gets locked in the Cross Armbreaker for a while as the Best in the World continue this mugging. Del Rio breaks the hold and the Best in the World stand tall to close Raw.

Like the change in show graphics especially the Smack Down one think you could of used a better photo of Hardy though.
Didn't reply to Smack Down but could see Christian winning the title and facing Miz for belt at SummerSlam while Punk faces Angle...
On to Raw...
Decent open sets up the Main Event maybe we'll see Hardy added to title match at SummerSlam.
Kofi and Alberto got a lot of shine on this show which I enjoyed makes both guys come off as stars.
You have a strong tag team division
Highlight of the night was easily the Sheamus/Edge segment well done on that made Sheamus look like a monster really enjoyed this.
IC title seems a bit of an after thought at the minute but Ziggler/DiBiase is too my tastes big fan of both.
Main Event was good and with Hardy winning makes me again wonder if he will be added.
Strong show prefer this 100x over your current diary. Big fan - great work

July 27th, 2010 | American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas | Attendance: 8,422
- Instantly following the ECW intro, the cameras go backstage to the office of ECW General Manager, Theodore Long. Ezekiel Jackson and Drew McIntyre barge into his office. “Teddy, what is the meaning of this? You have John Morrison and Bryan Danielson wrestling tonight and Wade Barrett will be in action as well, but the best guy from SummerSlam’s Fatal Four Way match, Ezekiel Jackson, isn’t getting a chance to showcase himself” says McIntyre. He wants a match tonight where himself and Jackson can go out and dominate. Teddy tells them never to barge into his office again, but he will give them a match. Tonight they will step into the ring with two guys that Teddy is going to give tryout matches to so they should go out and get ready. McIntyre smiles as they head off.
- Wade Barrett def. Joe Hennig >> Much like their match two weeks ago where Wade Barrett infamously threw down the ECW Television Championship, this was competitive. Joe Hennig had the crowd behind him the entire way and looked very close to pulling out a victory on two occasions. However, Barrett proved to be too much for Joe once again as he planted him with the Wasteland and continued his hot streak.
- Wade Barrett stands to his feet and raises his arms in the air as the crowd boos. He grabs a microphone and claims that Bryan Danielson, John Morrison and Ezekiel Jackson will suffer the same fate as Joe Hennig just did at SummerSlam. He will walk out of Los Angeles as the new ECW Champion because nobody can stop the Barrett Barrage!
- In the back, Ashley Valance is with Charlie Haas. She says that he wanted this time so she wants to know what is on his mind. Haas says that he wanted to give an update on Shelton Benjamin after Randy Orton punted him last Friday. Shelton has a concussion and has been told to rest at home. Haas says that he’s going to stick up for his friend the same way he did for him. He challenges Randy Orton to a match this Friday on Smackdown.
- A promo for Smackdown is shown. Despite his mind being on the returning Kurt Angle, CM Punk must focus on defending his WWE Championship against Christian this Friday night!
- Chris Masters def. Kaval >> Chris Masters has been very good in the ring since his return to the WWE, especially to ECW. Kaval meanwhile, is fresh off of a successful program with Paul Burchill and this was a nice change of pace. Kaval went for the Warrior’s Way but Masters moved and hit a vicious clothesline. He then locked in the Masterlock and Kaval had no choice but to tap out.
- Chris Masters celebrates his win as the crowd showers him with boos. Masters demands a spotlight, which shines on him, before he starts doing some of his signature poses.
- A graphic is shown for the main event pitting John Morrison against the ECW Champion Bryan Danielson!
- ===Commercial Break===
- Bryan Danielson is shown getting ready for his match tonight when John Morrison comes up to him. They shake hands and Morrison says that he respects the hell out of Bryan but tonight and at SummerSlam, he wants the ECW Title and will do what it takes to win it. Danielson responds by saying that he wouldn’t have it any other way.
- Returning, the Best in the World are in the ring awaiting Theodore Long’s tryout superstars. A generic theme hits as two men come out and Tony Chimel introduces them as Johnny Curtis and Derrick Bateman.
- Drew McIntyre and Ezekiel Jackson def. Derrick Bateman and Johnny Curtis >> Theodore Long decided to give Derrick Bateman and Johnny Curtis an opportunity tonight and they did not waste it. They came at the established “Best in the World” and took it right to them. Both men impressed and had the crowd believing they would win once or twice. Bateman made a big mistake when he attempted a cross body on Ezekiel Jackson, only to be caught and dropped with a huge slam. Jackson made him submit to the Torture Rack while Drew McIntyre hit Curtis with the Future Shock.
- The WWE Universe boos as Drew McIntyre and Ezekiel Jackson win tonight but credit has to be given to Derrick Bateman and Johnny Curtis. One or both of them might’ve earned a roster spot on ECW but the Best in the World once again prove their dominance and Ezekiel Jackson could very well be ECW Champion again soon.
- In the back, ECW Champion Bryan Danielson is walking toward the ring because the main event is next!
- ===Commercial Break===
- A promo for SummerSlam is shown; the commercial similar to trailer for the blockbuster film “Inception.”
- Non-Title Match: ECW Champion Bryan Danielson and John Morrison fought to a no contest >> A one on one title match between these two needs to happen soon because this was fantastic. The Tuesday Night Delight delivered another stellar performance and of course, the ECW Champion brought it. John Morrison picked up a near fall with the Moonlight Drive that had the crowd buzzing. Morrison couldn’t believe it. Bryan Danielson also locked in the Cattle Mutilation but Morrison got his foot on the rope. Shortly after, both men nailed kicks to the other at the same time and they both hit the mat. This was when Wade Barrett ran to the ring and hit both men with the Wasteland!
- Wade Barrett has come out and two of his three opponents for SummerSlam with his signature move. Wade exits the ring and grabs the ECW Championship. He gets back in the ring and raises the belt high in the air when the theme of Ezekiel Jackson hits. The former ECW Champion comes out by himself and enters the ring, going face to face with Barrett. The crowd goes from booing to buzzing at the sight of these two having a staredown. Barrett smirks, places the belt on the mat in between them and slowly exits the ring to boos.

Alright good edition of ECW. Drew demanding a match for his partner was a good way to open the show. I'm wondering if Wade Barrett doesn't give a damn about that ECW TV title with how he's been treating it. Barrett winning was good for momentum heading towards Summerslam. I'll will definitely be reading Smackdown with CM Punk and Christian facing off for the WWE title, and Orton vs. Charlie Hass should be interesting. I wonder what your going to do with Chris Masters in the future. Even though they lost, I'm hoping Johnny Curtis and Derrick Bateman have made it to the ECW roster if they were close to winning and put on a great match. Barrett interrupting the main event makes me think Barrett is going to walk away from Summerslam with two championships.
Check out WWE 13-14.

Looks like I have some catching up to do. No matter, here we go.
Friday Night SmackDown Interesting way to open the show with the 2010 King of the Ring the Miz starting things up. He's on a wave of momentum right now heading into SummerSlam for his WWE Championship opportunity against whoever the champion is. Christian comes out and says he's not letting his loss to the Miz at the Bash get to him. It doesn't affect him as he came out victorious in the number one contender battle royal for "one more match" for the WWE Championship. More on this later. Looks like Alicia Fox is back on SmackDown after an uneventful run on RAW, and it doesn't look any better for her as she loses to AJ Lee. This makes sense since Lee has more going for her as she pursues former mentor Gail Kim and the Women's Championship. Great match featuring Randy Orton and Shelton Benjamin. Even though Benjamin won via disqualification, Orton gets the last laugh with an RKO and a punt to the head. I guess Benjamin is going on the shelf for a while. Interesting to see where Orton goes from here. Good tag team match between Best in the World members William Regal and United States Champion Jack Swagger against Tyler Black and Rey Mysterio. The real story here in the continuing Swagger/Black feud. Swagger got one over on Black this time, but I see Black getting his revenge. I could definitely see Black regaining the United States Championship by this feud's conclusion. Now the main event, the TLC match featuring the Dudebusters, Londrick, the Hart Trilogy and the Airbourne Angels for the Unified WWE Tag Team Championships. I was surprised to see the Dudebusters retain, but it's great to see them come out on top as it puts them over huge. But the night ends with Kurt Angle addressing the WWE Universe on his return to the company. WWE Champion CM Punk comes out and interrupts, but it doesn't do him any good as Angle stands tall at the end of the night. I can definitely see Christian winning over Punk to become WWE Champion. It frees up Punk for his feud with Angle and sets up another Christian/Miz match at SummerSlam for the title. I'm looking forward to see what happens next.
Monday Night RAW Great way to open the show with Jeff Hardy as his return to RAW was the big news from last week's show. He's wasting no time making claim for the World Heavyweight Championship, whether that title is held by either reigning champ Chris Jericho or challenger John Cena. Cena and Jericho eventually come out and address the situation, setting up the main event featuring Hardy and Cena teaming up against Best in the World members Jack Swagger and Alberto Del Rio. At least, that's what we thought as Del Rio already has a match, leaving Jericho to team up with Swagger. Right move to have Kofi Kingston go over Carlito as Kingston has more going for him at this point. It builds up momentum for Kingston going into his rematch with Del Rio. I have to comment on the backstage segment featuring Laycool, Mickie James and Tiffany. The Diva's Championship feud between champion Michelle McCool and James is really heating up. Love how the tag team division has been built up in this diary. The Airbourne Angels, after coming out on the losing end on SmackDown's TLC match, made a statement for the Dudebusters and the Unified WWE Tag Team Championships. Nothing against TJ Wilson, but it was obvious Del Rio would go over him in their match. I definitely see both Kingston and Del Rio come out looking better coming out of their feud. Great segment featuring Edge talking about his recent injury and having Sheamus come out to lay him out. I guess we'll be getting an Edge/Sheamus feud when the Rated R Superstar comes back from his injury. I'm looking forward to that. One thing I was curious about on the RAW side was the Intercontinental Championship picture. Looks like that's been addressed as Ted Dibiase might be making a play for Dolph Ziggler's championship. Looking forward to that as well. Looks like Tiffany is going after the Diva's Championship as well with a victory over Melina. Makes it interesting to have her in the mix. Finally, the main event as the team of Hardy and Cena win over the Best in the World via disqualification. But Best in the World stands tall at the end of the night with members decimating Cena, Hardy and Kingston. Another great show where I can't predict what will happen next.
ECW on Sci-Fi Interesting way to open the show by going backstage. I figured it would've been better out in the ring, but that's just me. Best in the World members Ezekiel Jackson and Drew McIntyre want a chance to showcase their domination as well as Jackson getting the chance to warm up for his eventual ECW Championship fatal four-way against Wade Barrett, John Morrison and current champ Bryan Danielson. Speaking of Barrett, he builds up momentum for himself with a victory over Joe Hennig in a rematch from two weeks ago for the now vacant Television Championship. I'm curious as to what will happen with Charlie Haas attempting to get revenge against Randy Orton on SmackDown for his former tag team partner/best friend Shelton Benjamin. I'm wondering if this leading towards a push for Haas. Speaking of pushes, it looks like Chris Masters is getting one right now with a victory over Kaval. I like Masters and I'm curious to see where this goes. Jackson and McIntyre show their dominance with a win over Derrick Bateman and the returning Johnny Curtis. Obvious that they would win, but it would've been awesome to see Bateman and Curtis get the upset. I could definitely see them being part of ECW and being a fixture in the tag team division with the right build-up and character development. Finally, the main event of the evening between Danielson and Morrison. I must say that this was excellent. This is just me, but a Morrison/Danielson feud over the title would be money. Interesting way to end the match with a no-contest as Barrett makes an appearance and lays both men out. Jackson makes an appearance with a confrontation with Barrett. Once again, a great ECW show. Even though I was not much of a fan of WWE's ECW in real life, this ECW is a great program. Keep up the great work.

Enjoyed ECW nice good quick show that enhanced Barrett, he'll be a future ECW champ maybe not at SummerSlam though. Bryan/JoMo would have been ace, expected non finish.
Couple of small issues Low Ki being used as fodder for Masters it came across as filler. A line earlier just hyping the match would have gave the match a bit more importance. Also to the new reader Ezekiel going after the ECW title after being booked strong over Cena looks like a demotion. Cena/Ezekiel doesn't feel done yet.
Fan of both Curtis and Bateman so their good additions. Overall would have been a really enjoyable hour!

July 30th, 2010 | American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas | Attendance: 8,422- After the weekly intro, the camera pans to the arena in Corpus Christi. Todd Grisham and Matt Striker welcome the WWE Universe to tonight’s broadcast and hype up the huge main event where CM Punk will defend his WWE Championship against Christian. Plus, Randy Orton will step into the ring with the man he punted months ago, Charlie Haas. Tonight promises to be a big night and it will be kicked off by the King of the Ring.
- “Awesome” is heard as The Miz comes out to a chorus of boos. The 2010 King of the Ring enters the ring and grabs a microphone. “You can boo all you want but it is not going to change the fact that I am the 2010 King of the Ring. It will not change the fact that I am getting a WWE Title shot at SummerSlam in a few weeks.” The Miz says that since he was a kid, his dream has been to be the WWE Champion. On the Real World, he showed the world what the character of the Miz can do. Over time, he claims Mike and The Miz have become one in the same. “My dream of becoming a WWE Superstar has come true and my dream of being the WWE Champion will happen in a few weeks at SummerSlam. If the WWE Champion at the end of tonight is still CM Punk then so be it. He can straight edge all he wants but it won’t save him from being run down by my momentum. If Christian is somehow the WWE Champion at SummerSlam, well, we’ve all seen what happens when I stop into a WWE ring with him. He comes up short.” The Miz continues by calling himself King Miz the Awesome and says that we will all be witnesses to history when he becomes the WWE Champion at SummerSlam.

- Returning, Christian is shown arriving at the arena. Tonight may just be the biggest night in the career of “Captain Charisma”.
- Non-Title Match: United States Champion Jack Swagger w/ William Regal def. Rey Mysterio >> After teaming with Tyler Black against William Regal and Jack Swagger last week, Rey Mysterio stepped into the ring tonight against the United States Champion. These two had a rivalry in ECW, even wrestling for the ECW Championship at the Royal Rumble this year. Much like that match, Swagger picked up the win tonight following a Gutwrench Powerbomb.
- Jack Swagger and William Regal celebrate the win while the crowd boos the continued success of the Best in the World. Tyler Black is shown watching on a monitor as the number one contender for Swagger’s United States Title looks to become Champion soon.
- A graphic is shown for tonight’s main event pitting CM Punk against Christian with the prestigious WWE Title on the line.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Returning to Smackdown, Ashley Valance is standing by with AJ Lee. She informs the WWE Universe that AJ will be competing against former Women’s Champion Serena Mancini tonight with the winner getting a shot at Gail Kim at SummerSlam. She asks for AJ’s thoughts on this match. AJ says that this is a big moment for her career. Not only can she earn another Women’s Title shot, but if she wins she can get some revenge on Gail Kim because she hasn’t forgotten how Gail turned her back on her.
- The Straight Edge Society def. The Jung Dragons w/ Jamie Noble >> Yoshi Tatsu and Jimmy Yang once again impressed in the ring, but the Straight Edge Society continued their winning ways tonight. A short but competitive contest was won after Drew Gallows planted Yang with the Gallows Pole.
- Drew Gallows and Joseph Matthews raise their arms in victory as the WWE Universe boos heavily. If this is a sign of things to come for the Straight Edge Society tonight, then CM Punk will remain the WWE Champion.
- Backstage, Kurt Angle is shown arriving to the arena to a huge pop from the crowd. One has to assume that CM Punk and the Straight Edge Society will be keeping their eye on Kurt Angle.
- ===Commercial Break===
- A promo is shown for Raw this Monday night. Last month, Alberto Del Rio ruined Kofi Kingston’s attempt to cash in Money in the Bank on Chris Jericho. They met at The Bash, with Del Rio stealing a victory. Now, Kofi and Del Rio will do battle in a 2 out of 3 falls match to determine who the better man is.
- Randy Orton def. Charlie Haas >> A rare moment for Charlie Haas as he gets to main event the first hour of Smackdown. The former Seton Hall standout came out aggressive against Randy Orton and had the “Viper” reeling. Orton’s ability would win out though as he began to hit some of his signature moves like the powerslam and DDT. Haas got a very close near fall following a rollup and even put Orton in the Haas of Pain. Randy would reach the ropes, causing Haas to break the hold. Haas would to go pick up Orton, but gets nailed with the RKO to end it.
- The bell sounds as Randy Orton has beaten Charlie Haas just a week after punting Shelton Benjamin in the skull. Orton steps back and looks to be gearing up to punt Haas again, which is what started all of this months ago. Before he can do anything though, Stephanie McMahon’s theme hits as the General Manager comes out. She shouts at Orton to stop in his tracks and not do this. The referee pulls Haas out of the ring as Orton looks at Stephanie. Stephanie says that next week, Shelton Benjamin will be live via satellite and he promises to address Randy Orton. Orton smiles at this as the camera cuts away.
- A graphic is shown once again for the main event as Christian will face CM Punk for the WWE Championship tonight!
- ===Commercial Break===
- Returning, Ashley Valance is with Christian and she asks him about his mindset heading into tonight’s main event. Christian says that he’s never been more focused in his life. He came close to winning the belt on numerous occasions this year but tonight is his night. He promises to win the WWE Championship and he will not rest until the belt belongs to him.
- CM Punk and the Straight Edge Society are in their locker room watching the monitor. CM Punk turns to them and says that Drew Gallows and Joseph Matthews got them off on the right foot tonight. Serena Mancini will go out and win tonight so she can win back her Women’s Championship at SummerSlam and he will cap the night off by retaining his belt and if Kurt Angle decides to get involved, he’ll have to take him out too.
- Cody Rhodes def. R-Truth >> Since coming over to Smackdown earlier this year, R-Truth has struggled while Cody Rhodes has been on a fast rise towards the top of the brand. That trend would continue on tonight’s Smackdown. Truth put up a good fight, but Cody bested him after hitting a springboard kick that he calls the Disaster Kick.
- Before Cody Rhodes even celebrates, his gets a microphone from ringside. Cody says that he should’ve won the Battle Royal last week but Christian got lucky. “The reason I should have won the battle royal is because it is about time that the Prince of Pro Wrestling wore some Championship gold.” Cody says that being a champion in the WWE is in his blood. He is the greatest Rhodes to over wrestle and he will prove it to the world. “Sometime very soon, sooner than you think actually, I will be wearing Championship gold around my waist.”
- Kurt Angle is shown entering Stephanie McMahon and Vickie Guerrero’s office. He greets them and says that he’d like to watch tonight’s main event from here. Stephanie is curious and Kurt says that he’s not here to screw CM Punk but he would like to enjoy what should be a classic WWE Title match. Vickie doesn’t like the idea of Kurt sticking around but Stephanie agrees to it.
- ===Commercial Break===
- Returning, the Raw Rebound is shown. It focuses on Sheamus’ attack on Edge and the tag team match pitting Jeff Hardy and John Cena against Chris Jericho and Jack Swagger.
- Number One Contender's Divas Match: AJ Lee def. Serena Mancini to become the number one contender to the Women’s Championship >> This proved to be much better than your average Divas match and it got a good amount of time too. AJ Lee worked over Serena Mancini’s arm throughout the match, while Serena focused on Lee’s back. Serena got AJ up for the Mancini Code but AJ wriggled free and locked in an Octopus Hold which surprised everyone. Mancini couldn’t get free and was forced to tap out.
- The WWE Universe cheers as AJ Lee has now earned another shot at the Women’s Championship, and her former mentor Gail Kim. Before AJ can enjoy her celebration, Kim arrives on the scene and nails AJ from behind. She picks up her former protégé and hits her with the Eat Defeat. Kim shouted “you’ll never be better than me! I’m the best diva! I’m the best diva in the world!” She raises the Women’s Title high in the air as the crowd boos.
- Backstage, The Miz is shown walking towards the arena. It looks like the 2010 King of the Ring will be at ringside for the huge WWE Championship match tonight.
- ===Commercial Break===
- A promo is shown for SummerSlam, focusing on the World Heavyweight Championship match between John Cena and Chris Jericho.
- The Miz indeed arrives at ringside as the camera returns. He joins the commentary team and says that he’s here to scout CM Punk because he has no need to worry about Christian if he miraculously wins tonight.
- WWE Championship: Christian def. CM Punk [c] w/ The Straight Edge Society to win the Championship >> Smackdown fans were treated to a huge main event tonight that got about fifteen minutes. Both Christian and CM Punk were on their game and the fans were nearly 100% behind Captain Charisma. Christian nailed a frog splash and might’ve won had Joseph Matthews not pulled the referee out of the ring. This brought out Kurt Angle to a massive pop as he cleared ringside of the Straight Edge Society following a belly to belly suplex on Matthews and tossing Drew Gallows into the steel steps. CM Punk was visibly upset at this but stayed on his game, hoisting Christian up for the Go to Sleep. Christian gets loose and behind Punk where he connects with an Unprettier and gains the three that he’s waited his whole life for!
- The WWE Universe erupts as Christian has realized his childhood dream of becoming the WWE Champion. The referee hands him the belt and Christian raises it high in the air with tears in his eyes. The Miz says this doesn’t bother him because everyone can now officially mark their calendars for August 15th as the day The Miz becomes the WWE Champion. He guarantees to beat Christian for a third straight Pay-Per-View. Christian gets his moment in the ring as he continues to celebrate with the WWE Universe.
