Did anyone else get the same vibe during this match as they did during the Gold Rush match? Punk would obviously have been in the Benjamin role, keeping the lead most of the match, hitting things out of nowhere and countering alot of moves. Jericho was in the HBK seat, getting bested by the young gun, but still getting offense.
Then finally, we have the ending, which IMO came out of no where much like the SCM to Shelton. Both springboard moves countered into finishers.
Maybe its just me, but this great match up really brought back memories.
Did anyone else get that feeling?

It never really crossed my mind. But it was indeed a good match. I could watch Jericho and Punk go at it every week

Didn't think of that, but now that you mention it you're right... though I think the level of stardom between HBK and Benjamin was much larger than the one between Punk and Jericho so the "old being tested by the young" idea wasn't really emphasized. It was presented more as Punk and Jericho being on a similar level and having a competitive match.

It's matches like that that make me wonder what people are smoking when they say CM Punk is boring in the ring.

Y2J and Punk put on great matches but Michaels and Benjamin are better tbh.

I think the Jericho / Punk was better than the Michaels / Benjamin match. It was allot more fast paced and Jericho / Punk's finish looked cleaner

HBK vs. Benjamin was epic but Jericho & punk was very good as well.

I could see why you'd say that, but there wasn't as big of a gap between Punk/Jericho than Benjamin/HBK.
Also IMO,
Benjamin > Jericho > HBK > Punk
As far as match value goes today. (don't get me wrong, I love Jericho, but Benjamin always pulls out amazing matches).

I had that feeling. Both matches were great though Benjamin/Michaels was better in my opinion.

Honestly, I thought HBK/Benjamin was more fast paced. Expecially with the 2 WOJ spots from last night.

I actually could see the Codebreaker coming. But never the less it was a great match.

I'm assuming he's speaking of the Oh Canada sing along that took place mid-match.

Okay, well I didn't hear that part, That's pretty lame, but chances are they were drunk. the event had started pretty much 3 hours before that match, so most of the fans were probably smashed by then.

Good Ol' Canadians. You can always count us to be drunk at public places.
