I never thought that I would go crazy, but just look at my life, could you blame me?
Voice: What are we doing here, we should be training.
Trace: Shut up.
Roxy: Did you say something?
Trace: No, of course not.
Voice: This place is so badly decorated.
Your right there, who the hell hides out in warehouses anymore, it’s like a really bad crime film.
Voice: I never liked those films; it was obvious what was going to happen right from the start.
I can’t believe it, there is a voice in my head and in stead of ignoring it I am treating it like a friend, well more of an associate really but I don’t want to go into specifics.
Roxy: Are you going to get over here and find out the next step?
Trace: If I have to.
I get up, making sure that I walk slowly, my steps echo as my feet collide with the steel platform that is below my feet.
Roxy: In your own time.
Trace: Will do.
Voice: Witty comeback.
Shut up.
Trace: So what’s going on now?
Kite points at the maps on the table, which I recognize as the maps that I picked up from Kara weeks ago, along with the files on the three people standing in front of me.
Voice: We know the truth, don’t we?
I know the truth, you can’t, and you’re not real.
Trace: What am I meant to be looking at?
Kite: This is a map of an underground structure, which is located on the outskirts of the city. Located within is a large electricity generator that powers the entire town.
Trace: And?
Kite: We are going to destroy it.
Voice: What’s the point in that?
Trace: It will plunge the city into chaos.
I can hear the shock in my own voice, but I can’t stop myself from saying it.
Kite: Exactly.
Trace: What is this going to prove?
Kite: That we are something to be worried about.
Voice: This guy is absolutely crazy.
Agreed.
Trace: Are you serious?
He laughs, almost as if he can’t believe that I just asked that.
Kite: Of course I am serious; people need to realize that we can’t be silenced.
I start shouting, unable to contain myself any longer.
Trace: You want to do this to prove a point; you know that this could cost people their lives.
Kite: If that is what is needed.
My voice is getting louder and louder, I don’t seem to be able to control myself now.
Trace: These are human lives, most of which are innocent people; I won’t let you drag people who have never done a thing to hurt anyone else into this.
Roxy: Well guess what, you don’t have a choice.
Voice: Hit her, throw something, I don’t care just teach her a lesson!
Kite: Calm down, both of you.
He turns to me.
Kite: Are you with us or not.
My choice has already been made for me.
Trace: Fine.
Kite: Good.
He speaks with a smug look on his face, like a spoilt brat who has just got their own way.
Voice: What are you doing?
Bringing them down from the inside.
Voice: Nice, I like it.
What the hell am I doing? First I get involved with a bunch of crazy’s who want to change the world, then I agree to help the government to bring them down, and now I am going crazy.
Could things get any worse?
Voice: Well…
Don’t say a thing.
