Reinvention Part II
The First Act
Consequently to each change there has to be transition period where one begins to convert himself to the new beginning. My beginning started with a letter from and old friend or foe, I can’t quite recollect what he was. I find myself moving towards a new goal, a new plan, a new existence, and in time I will become one with it.
==================================
The rain padded the ground with a thick coat of water, each step; a splash. I maneuvered through it, I had signed a contract, everything was in place but he wanted to see me. At the moment, I have to be honest; I didn’t want to see him. I had never really known the guy all that well, our paths just seem to cross at just the right time for the both of us and now they cross again.
Finally, standing before a door, this is where he had told me to meet him. But why, the debt was paid by contract to the WFWF, I required nothing more. He wanted something more, which was the only thing that made sense to me and that made little to none. What did I have to offer, a residential card board apartment amidst an old alley back where I was? I knocked, not to hard; I didn’t want to seem rude. A slide opened and eyes gawked at me piercingly before sliding shut. I then could hear the clinks and clanks of locks and then a screech as the door opened.
I stepped up and in and there was no sign of anyone, just a hallway with one door at the end. I stared down the dimly lit hall, “Damn it,” I was getting nervous, showing weakness, I knew better then that.
==================================
My face nailed the canvas hard; I could feel my jaw begin to swell. He grabbed my hair and pulled me to my feet before lunging forward with a clothesline that sent me backward writhing in pain on the mat. “Do you think they are going to wait on you, you pathetic imbecile, pick yourself up!” His voice was both threatening and sincere which was a combination that scared me at first and proved just as vicious as the initial thoughts perceived.
My hands pressed firm against the ground, I raised myself but his boot was just as firm against my gut, sending me back down wheezing. “I can’t-I,” coughing only intensified his disgruntled attitude towards me but I could not hold it back, “I ne-need more time.”
I could feel his eyes blazing on my back as I lay face down bloodied and broken. “Lesson 1, there are no breaks in this place, I worked for everything I have gained and neither God nor man has given me a damn thing. You would do well to take notice of what goes on around you; respect is earned the hard way. It’s earned by getting laid out and losing gracefully but making a note of everything learned. It’s earned by both losing and winning because being the best doesn’t mean you are invincible, it means you can put up a fight no matter what the situation. The one time that I knew I had earned the respect of a federation that had overlooked me was by losing to man much greater then me at the time. Take heed to what I have told you boy, this is a not a fools game.”
==================================
The springs bounced a bit before settling in place as it molded to my back. I let out a cry of relief before settling myself. He had pushed me far harder then I can remember ever having been pushed. I plunged my hand into my pocket and produced a folded paper, it was my first match. I unhinged each crease and revealed the name of my opponent; Jake Slash. I guess it’s a better start then any; I closed my eyes, letting the paper ride the air till it rested on the ground. I drifted off into night.

ooc: I made it jump around like it did on purpose, I wanted to elude to certain things without saying them. Thats all, enjoy!
