Hi all I'm bored right now and I see this board is not the most active so Ill stir up some conversation. Who here enjoys gameboy? I used to have a big collection, but I sold most of it on Ebay to make a quick buck. Last may, for some reason kids started bringing in their gameboys to school (this is 9th grade, pretty weird huh) and for like 2 weeks, Pokemon was cool. So in May and June I started going on Ebay and touring Gamestops looking for good deals. Well in June, I pretty much stopped because I got most games of my old collection back. But on Thanksgiving, my stepcousin gave me her old gameboys (an original and a silver pocket) and two games (RC Pro AM and Spot) because she remembered that I liked them back in may (the last time I saw her). So, integrating those two systems into my already extensive collection, I realized I had some free time on my hands this weekend, so I felt like fully rebuilding my old collection. Today I went and got the games Austin Powers: Welcome to my Underground Layer for 2.99 and Metal Gear Solid for 4.99. I always liked the Metal Gear, and pricing it on ebay, it seems to go for the asking price of 12-25 bucks for the cart only, so in my opinion it was a steal. I mostly like to play games like Dr. Mario and Tetris; they keep the brain flowing. I got 1 original gameboy, 2 pockets, 3 colors, an SP, and about 30 games. I like finding good cheap deals at yardsales and such and I also take old ones off the hands of friends/family. So, anyone else here like collecting Gameboy and Gameboy Accessories? Any good gameboy stories?

I've always had a pretty extensive Gameboy collection. I got my Gameboy probably in 1990 when it was the giant brick and still came with Tetris, and I still have it to this day. I have a Gameboy, Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Advance SP (NES edition), and even a Gameboy Micro. I keep meaning to pick up the never seen stateside release Gameboy Light, which was a green backlit Gameboy pocket.

I really would like to add at least one of them to my collection, but they are so damn expensive on ebay. But anyway, I just got a deal off someone in school; 5 bucks for a transparent atomic purple gameboy color. They go for like, 20 on ebay. I am such a gameboy loser. I did, however, use the guise that I was buying it for my mom because people'd think im a loser (16 and playing Gameboy? yeah in modern society thats pretty 'gay' as the kids would call me) but thats not to far from the truth for in reality my mom likes to play them also. Infact she just ordered a teal GBC off ebay for 22 bucks because she thought the color was "pretty" :/ But I can understand that cause I really like the see through purple.

Let's see, on the regular Gameboy you had WWF Superstars 1 and 2, WCW Main Event, WWF War Zone, WWF King of the Ring and WWF Raw, GBC had WCW Mayhem, WWF Attitue, WWF Wrestlemania 2000, and the craptiest crap fest in WWF Betrayal which isn't a wrestling game. GBA has Road to Wrestlemania, Road to Wrestlemania X8 and Survivor Series.

The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening was my favorite alltime Gameboy game. It came with my Gameboy system when I first got around to getting one. I used to take my system up the road from my house on a bike to a local school playground after school hours to get out of the house and sit at a picnic table and play the hell out of that game

That is a damn fine game. Playing the "DX" version was surreal after playing it in black and white for so long. Well, actually I suppose Green and Black.

Gameboy was my primary thing for years. While my brother was playing hours of NCAA March Madness Basketball(boring), I needed something. I went from Gameboy Pocket, to Gameboy Color and ofcourse the Gameboy Advance and SP. I thought after the GBA days were over so was I. But then the Gameboy Micro came out and I discovered Super Mario World which was originally on SNES. I fell in love with gameboy again. And this was over the course of me getting knee surgery in the past year. So here is my story which is relatively recent.
