cinemassacre.com/2011/06/01/avgn-message/AVGN is coming back in the more basic form. I loved his older style videos, so this is actually really good news to hear. He's working on both the movie (2013 at earliest, it sounds like) and these new little episodes, plus all his general Spike/Cinemassacre stuff.

While I'm happy he's going to be doing more episodes. I'm really happy that they will be like his earlier stuff. Because while his post 2007 reviews are good. I like his basic 10-15 minute, mostly gameplay reviews, with a little bit of slapstick.

Awesome to hear new episode are on the way and that they will be like the early style. While I liked the slapstick stuff, him just reviewing it makes me laugh.
Still really excited for the film as well, I read in one of my emails I got that he was holding a casting call for extras, would of loved to have tried and get a part in it, but he was asking for people with some acting experience, plus the fact that I live in the UK and I don't have enough money to fly there.

Very informative, I never realized how much work went into it all.

I do everything he does for a game review as far as the actual core review goes, and I can attest that it's a ton of work just for that, let alone the stuff he does with on-screen appearances and scripts and special effects. I found this fascinating for that reason. His timecode method is a lifesaver it sounds like. Sifting through a few hours of similar looking game footage for the right clip is a total timedrainer. I'm surprised he does a lot of the voiceovers before the actual editing. Definitely thought it'd be in reverse. I liked learning about his lighting methods, too, and see him acknowledge some of the production changes he has had over the years.
This might be one of my favorite James Rolfe videos. Truly fascinating stuff.

Anyone here a fan on Zero Punctuation's Ben 'Yahtzee' Croshaw? www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuationIf you havent seen it, think of an English, witty, more pessimistic AVGN that caters to modern games that releases a video weekly (on a Wednesday) as opposed to monthly. I am an AVGN fan, but i gotta admit, i find this guy funnier... mabye its an english thing. What do you think?

Isn't he Australasian? Unless he just immigrated to Australia. Either way, I use to be a fan, but his hate seems to be alot more.... real than the avgn character. Only game I've ever seen him like was Half Life 2 and Fall Out 3.

Only game I've ever seen him like was Half Life 2 and Fall Out 3. Prince of Persia S.o.T trilogy, Silent Hill 1-3 and Portal are his faves too... but yea, he does seem like that, but if you watch something like his Bioshock video, he says its a great game, but he's not a reviewer, he's a critic, so he has to criticise things even if he likes them (Yea, he emigrated)

The new video is pretty entertaining. Pat the NES Punk is kind of obnoxious to me, but I don't hate the guy. I have no interest in him, but this video would have been impossible without him lending James the game, and it was kind of fun to see the together.
Also, guys, he has a Paypal donation button on Cinemassacre.com. All of the proceeds until 8-31 go straight to the AVGN movie. I already made my donation as a thank you for all the entertainment just a few days ago, you guys should consider it as well.
He's given us so much over the years, all cost free. I felt like I owed him.
