Why are people like Darren Bent even contemplating putting on an England Shirt. What the . I am in no way sticking up for Darren Bent, nor am I just saying this as a Spurs fan, but why the target someone who has been scoring goals recently, and came closest to putting England through tonight? You want to complain about people? Complain about the people that had ing shocking games today. Bridge, Gerrard, Lampard, Barry, Lescott... the players that actually cost us the match today. Not the players that actually put some effort in to their time on the pitch, trying to get England through. Aye, plus Bent was only on for 10 minutes maybe? Gerrard played the whole match and was lacklustre. If him and Lampard aren't going to transfer their club form into their country game then they shouldn't play.

I've just read that Capello has already been on Italian TV saying that he wants to be England's manager.

It was McClarens fault for picking him. I really dont know why he didnt play David James and if you are gonna play Crouch by himself you need someone who can whip in a decent ing ball, Beckham should've started. Simple. the only players worth mentioning were Beckham, Bent and Crouch, they were the only players imo that actually wanted it. Everyone else were terrible and i really havent got a clue as to why he plays Lescott. I would rather Phillip Neville in my ing team.

Erm I think he shudda played James too...big pressure game bad pitch, it needed someone like James. He's not the best at holding onto the ball but he is good at shot stopping. I would rather have had a bunch of non league players working their asses off and getting beaten than those passionless guys out their yesterday! I dunno who will be the new manager...but someone needs to shake it up and a fresh start must ensue

In my opinion he picked a weak team. Barry ahead of Hargreaves. I dont think so. Hargreaves was our best player at the world cup. What a twat. I think Wright-Phillips is more effective from the bench too. The WC was over a year ago. What has Hargreaves done this season? Exactly. Barry was picked because he has been on top form for England these last few games, shocking yesterday though.

Shocked as anything, Crouch was the only man out there last night that seemed he wanted to win. Although when Beckham came on, I think he helped us alot. But in the end our players counld'nt even get the friggin ball to him. Mclaren is a peice of ****, should of been sacked ages ago. He simply doesn't know how to manage the England team, Like Dan said atleast with Sven we sailed through qualifying and got the results. He was simply useless as coach, ing bollocks. Also why pick a goalkeeper who doesn't have much experiance in a big game?. Carson did well last night imo he coped well with the exception of his little error. Just does my head in, we was given a second chance by Isreal and we ing blow it

Obviously you didnt see his performances against Man City on his debut,Sunderland, Spurs and Arsenal. He's been excellent for United this season and that's not bias. He's keeping Carrick out of the team, who cost £14 million and was one of our best players last season. He's also arguably got more big game experience from being in the squad at the last 3 major tournaments and the Champions League with Bayern. Barry had a stinker last night. He didnt play the holding role at all well hence why Croatia scored two soft goals. There's no doubting his talent but he is relatively inexperienced at that level.

I was all for dropping Robinson, but he should have done it earlier in the qualifiers or not at all, Carson didn't have enough experience with his defence or the rest of the team for that matter, and he was clearly a bag of nerves. I say get Lippi, or if that fails, Cappello. Both are apparently interested, both are successful. Cappello gets results but the players usually end up hating him, so he's a 50/50 choice really, but Lippi I think could achieve something.

Fair play but Barry only got in the team coz Hargreaves was injured. Im not blaming it on Barry, Im just saying If Hargreaves was there we wouldnt have conceded 2 goals like that. No one tried to win the ball or tracked the run. That's what Hargreaves does

How can you say if Hargreaves was there we would have got through? He's a highly overrated player, IMO.

I just think it would have been harder for Croatia to break us down and they certainly would have scored the 2nd. He's not overrated at all. Since McClaren was manager he hasnt had a bad game for England. Saying that he only played like the first two qualifiers and the friendly with Greece but if you look at those results it was 4-0 at home to Greece, 5-0 at home to Andorra and 1-0 away to Macedonia... 3 wins.

Considering Greece didn't even show up for that match, Andorra didn't get one point from 12 games, and we should have beaten Macedonia by many more than 1, even if we were away, those results aren't overly impressive.

Why in the blue did Wright-Phillips start over Beckham? Wright-Phillips is way over-rated. I understand picking Barry but he should of put onHargreaves at half time. Bent was good for how long he was on. Crouch, Beckham and Bent actually tried, the rest get the crap ripped out of them. Offer the job to Mouriniho, if he rejects get Capello/Lippi.

Playing a 4-5-1/4-3-3, and against a side who are strong on the counter, we needed to have a natural defensive midfielder in the side - that's Hargreaves. From his last few performances in an England shirt, it showed he can break up play and doesn't care if he does it the 'ugly way' by getting booked for it. Barry's good, but the standard of an international regular? I think not. The defence was awful. Lampard & Gerrard didn't see enough of the ball to influence the game. Crouch tried, but he's not a lone striker. Terrible performance. Bad tactics.
