Xavi is playing in Qatar under a team named Al Sadd Taarabt is with Benfica for the next 4 years. Interesting transfers. I didn't think Taarabt would get another contract with a big name and certainly didn't expect Xavi to go somewhere like Qatar. Taraabt needs a tough love coach. Jesus left but the guy who took his place got famous locally for recovering lost causes. I have hope for him.

When you can only play well under the management of Neil Warnock, you know you've got problems.

Anyone see Den Haag's goalkeeper score that 95th minute equaliser against PSV? Take a bow!

Finally the Bundesliga has started again Bayern looking as dominant as ever while Hamburg is just as pathetic as ever. Can't wait for tomorrow when my VfB Stuttgart opens our season agains Cologne.

Not sure why everyone is saying United got an easy group. Bundesliga runners up, Dutch champions, Russian runners up.
It could have been worse (like Man City) but it could still be a very tricky group for United.

Wolfsburg should get points off them and I think PSV will be a difficult game. These trips to Russia, like the trips to Turkey are a myth in my opinion. Whilst the traveling isn't great they never actually seem to play that well against the English clubs.

Still confident that an Inter Milan or Roma into Atletico Madrid double for the Leagues could be a good bet this Year. These days you have to take everything into account, and genuinely most people overlook the impact that fatigue and transitional periods have on Clubs. Inter signed extremely well in the Summer, I said they'd challenge hard an they're sitting comfortably top of the pack. Roma, have been knocking on the door for years now and also signed well, while Juventus are in a huge state of transition and it's already clear that it's not going to be an overnight fix.
As for La Liga, Atletico have gone back to their old ways, have become more rugged and set up in the midfield, and have such a fresh, counter attacking front line with Vietto, Jackson Martinez and Griezmann, along with with Correa and Torres doing their bits. Barcelona are incredibly burnt out, and their long 14/15 Campaign, straight into Copa America followed by their rediculous Pre Season Tour has already taken it's toll on the Squad. The trouble with Barca, is while normally they are good enough to still play at 70% and win Games (especially at Home), in big Matches they need to be 100% mentally and physically switched-on for there game and style to work, and it's just not possible with a tired Squad, which explains the lack of dynamic up front this Season and the amount of goals they are shifting. The other night's visit to Celta Vigo, a side set up well and full of energy and hard pressing was simply too much for them to handle despite how much talent they have. The deeper Messi moves to midfield the better for them in my opinion, but now he is out for at least 2 months, added to the fact that Barcelona have to visit last Seasons Top 5 all Away from Home in the first half of the Season is going to make it incredibly tough for them. As for Real Madrid, Benitez looks to be getting closer to the end result by putting Ronaldo up front as a Poacher, he just needs to get his system right for the rest of his Squad (Isco is not a Winger, he's a 10, and Bale in the hole limits everything that's good about his Game as he has no space to move or run with the ball). Once those things are tweaked and sorted, It'll be theirs to lose.

Was a great Sunday for football, had a night shift at work in the Betting Call Centre and we had screens everywhere showing every single game across Europe Live. Bayern Munich are looking unbelievable this Season, never seen a team so, so sharp and fresh even in the last ten minutes, the overall tempo is on a different level. There's no boundary Guardiola wont go with this side, False Full Backs, False midfielders, the system is constantly moving in the Game. They absolutely pumped Dortmund last night, and not because Dortmund were bad either, Bayern were just too much. Their easy Pre Season, along with them coasting the last 5 weeks or so of last Season has led to them being so fresh both mentally and physically, they seem such a different side already.
Thought the Madrid Derby was a case of Simeone and Benitez trying to out-tactic each other, yet they both got it wrong. Didn't understand the decision to put Ronaldo back wide. He should have been the focal point up front so that Atletico would find it harder to pick up other players around him, similar to what happened with Benzema's first goal. When Atletico had most of the ball in the second half, Ronaldo was practically invisible as he had no service. Whether Benitez was planning on setting up like this to play on the counter or not I'm not so sure. What I do know is it's becoming more evident that Benitez simply needs to stick with Ronaldo as a Number 9 and build a Team around him if he wants to get the best use out of Ronaldo. With him relying so much on the service from the rest of the side, at least if they had a dynamic three behind Ronaldo then they would still cause the top sides trouble, because as the way it stands, with Ronaldo on the left just making late runs and floating around in the box, he's less and less effective against the top sides and easier for them to manage and contain. Not sure how many times I'm going to have to stress it, but this nonsense with Isco out wide and Bale in the centre with Ronaldo also wide is so unbalanced and makes no sense in any way. It should be Kovacic/Kroos with Modric holding, Bale, Isco and James as a three then Benzema/Ronaldo up top. If Benitez can get this tinkering right and keep a system that makes Ronaldo most effective, then the League should be theirs. Correa is looking better and better everytime I see him.

Liverpool through to the final.
Sevilla is a big test but I think Liverpool might do it.

Absolutely delighted to get to the final. Winning it would do a world of good especially since the winner is automatically in the champions league group stage.
Also Emre Can showing John Cena like abilities to come back from ankle ligament damage after 2 weeks.

Na Sevilla haven't got to any finals recently mate. They've only won the Europa League four times in ten years.
