Hey,
I was at Wal*Mart earlier on today and as I've said before, they've currently got their big "Summer Blowout" happening and they've got loads of DVD's and DVD season's and even selected Blu-Ray for very reasonable prices.
More specifically, $10 Blu-Ray's, which I think is a hell of a deal. Some of the Blu-Ray movies they had for $10 each were:
- American Psycho - Total Recall - Saw - Saw II - Terminator 2 - The Condemned - House of 1000 Corpses - The Devil's Rejects - Rambo I, II and III - Good Luck Chuck - Employee of the Month
I was going to pick up a few of them, but thought against it at the last minute since I have them on DVD already. I want to get the ones that would look the best on Blu-Ray. Which ones out of those listed should I get, if any, on Blu-Ray??

Unless the version of Terminator 2 is the Skynet edition then it isn't worth it, but then again you can pick that version up for like 15 bucks at Best Buy I believe.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. YOU asking for Blu Rays. Funniest thread I've ever sen. Well, seeing as I own a PS3 now, I might as well take full advantage of it and a great deal while I'm at it, right? Makes sense to me. If I can get more out of my PS3 and get some cheap-ass Blu-Ray's in the process, then what's the problem?? I see nothing wrong with that at all. I'm not much of a gamer anymore, so I'd mostly only use my PS3 for movies anyway. I'd think Saw, Total Recall, Terminator 2, American Psycho and the Rambo movies would look great in Blu-Ray. I think I may go back tomorrow and pick them up.

^ Yes, I've said that I believe Blu-Ray movies are a rip-off. I won't deny that. However, I only said that for the newest releases out there compared to standard DVD prices. I mean, I just got the new Friday the 13th on DVD for something like $18 and I look over and see the Blu-Ray for over $30. I'm sorry, but that to me, is a ing rip-off. I just can't justify spending that much more on a Blu-Ray. I just can't. I just don't think they should be worth that much more than a DVD. However, when it comes to older movies such as these and they are only $10, then I'm certainly more willing to buy them. No question about it. But, when it comes to new releases, I'm still sticking to my opinion and saying Blu-Ray's are a friggin' rip-off compared to DVD. I don't know how you can deny it.

You obviously don't know how to shop around then. I have never spent more than $25 on a Blu Ray, and that even includes new releases.

I only have so many places to get them and I would think Wal*Mart would be one of the more cheaper places to get them. Certainly cheaper than HMV, Zellers, Best Buy or Future Shop, that's for damn sure.
Other than that, we've only got like CD Plus, Blockbuster Video and Rogers Video and that's about the extent of our stores around here to buy movies.
You've also got to remember I live in Canada and you probably live in the States somewhere. The prices are a bit more up here than they are down there.

I don't understand how people complain about Blu Ray prices when you get a MUCH better picture and alot more features, all on a superior format.
I've been picking up newer Blu Ray titles used at Blockbuster at 2 for 25$. Great deal. There are TONS of Blu Rays for 15-20 dollars on sale at Best Buy right now too.
You have to remember older movies don't take advantage of the Blu Ray format as much as newer films...which means older movies on Blu Ray can get away with being that cheap.

Terminator 2 looks amazing in BR. The special effects were ahead of the times so that combined with the outstanding picture quality makes it seem more modern (in a good way).

Buy them used, and you can get them cheaper. Not around here, they wouldn't be. In fact, they'd be more than $10. The cheapest I've seen used Blu-Ray's is like $14.99 each. That's why I think $10 each is such a great deal and I should get them while they are that cheap. $10 brand new, is the cheapest I've seen Blu-Ray's so far.

You could have saved a few bucks on the Friday the 13th blu ray by buying it from wal marts website and having it sent via the site to store option. It's 25 thru that. I don't know why they do it that way, but most of the time their stuff is a little cheaper online, and if you can have it sent to your store for pick up for free...no reason not to if it'll save ya a few bucks.

"This is totally not worth it considering Blu-Rays won't even be around in a couple years because nobody can afford them" I'm sorry but this is the most ludicrous thread I have ever seen on these boards. I wish "some" people on these boards wouldn't even post so I didn't have to read this garbage. By the way, all of these are the first series of Lion's Gate Blu Ray discs and most of them are no more than upscaled DVD's other than First Blood and Terminator 2. You could spend 10 bucks per crappy Blu Ray or spend 20 on something that looks amazing, but then again high-def doesn't make a difference to you anyways right?
