Last week I had some surgery done, which is putting me out of work/wrestling/the beach for pretty much the rest of the summer...
Now, my girlfriend of the last 3 months vowed to make life great for me while being stuck in this cast, which is awesome ya know? I mean giving up the last part of the summer to sit around watching Jim Breaks dvds and me playing old PS games is just great...
However last night she came up with the idea to get some multiplayer games so we could hangout together, which was a great idea... untill she brought over the "Game" (a term I use loosely here).
She called me up and said that she was VERY anxious to get to my house because not only did she buy a new game - but she bought HERSELF an XB 360 so she could play it at home... Then she showed up to MY house with said game... I couldn't believe my f*cking eyes guys, I really couldn't. You see, if she would've borrowed it from her cousin or brother, it would be very different, because I would've seen that she was just trying to help me out, but she didn't, she bought this "game" for herself!!! And this is why I'm very proud of myself - instead of sucking it up and giving into a summer full of laying around with a very attractive woman, with her waiting on me while I recover, I stood up for what I believe in! I didn't let the thought of being alone stand in my way for one second! I knew in my soul that I couldn't be with someone who plays that sort of "game" and let her know that while I thought she was a good person, there was no way I could look past her buying that "game"... so I ended the relationship - and I've never felt more secure with myself as a person
The moral of the story? Stand up for what you believe in people - don't let anxieties of loneliness or what other people think stand in the way of you being truly happy, because today I didn't; and today, I'm a better man
Anyone else ever have this sort of thing happen?
