WEEK 1:Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 20Dallas Coyboys: 15 Leftwich: 25/29, 267 yards, 2 TD's, INT Ward: 16/67 yards, TD Bryant: 75 yards, TD Jackson: 45 yards, TDRomo: 18/23, 198 yards, TD, 2 INT. Barber: 14/54 yards, TD Witten: 32 yards, TDIn a game where defense was the key, the Bucs came out on top. The action mostly happened in the 2nd half, where the Bucs and Cowboys scored all of their points. Leftwich started the year out great with his new team, passing for 267 yards and 2 TD's. The play that got everyone standing on their feet, whether it was Buccaneer or Cowboy fans, was the pick 6 that happened with 1:34 minutes left in the 4th. Romo, trying to secure a 15-14 win, passed it to what seemed like a wide open Roy Williams. But as he caught the ball he was also met with a hit from Sabby Piscitelli. "I really wasn't trying to do anything specific. I just saw the ball up in the air, an open receiver, and I was going to do something.", said Piscitelli. The ball bounced back into the air and was caught, but by Ronde Barber. "I still don't know what happened. I saw Sabby hit Williams, and then the ball appeared in my face." He was able to run it back all the way and become the hero in Tampa once again. After week 1: NFC SOUTH: New Orleans Saints (0-1-0) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-0-0) Carolina Panthers (1-0-0) Atlanta Falcons (1-0-0) |

WEEK 2:Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 17Buffalo Bills: 2 Leftwich: 17/22, 194 yards, TD Ward: 12/52 Clayton: 23 yards, TD Edwards: 14/19, 167 yards, INT Owens: 44 yards Jackson: 9/22 yardsFor the second straight game, Tampa Bay's defense proved that last year's month of December didn't mean anything, allowing just 2 points and only 200 yards of offense. The game started out with a blocked punt, but after that it was all Bucs, scoring 17 unanswered points. "They were dominating, and it showed on the scoreboard.", said coach Raheem Morris after the game. "With receivers like TO and Lee Evans out there, I thought this day would be a lot harder than it was.", said Ronde Barber, who had 5 tackles. The Buccaneers are now tied for first in the division, along with the Falcons who beat Carolina earlier in the day. The Bucs will take on the Giants next week, and hope to go 3-0.After week 2: NFC SOUTH: New Orleans Saints (1-1-0) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-0-0) Carolina Panthers (1-1-0) Atlanta Falcons (2-0-0) |

WEEK 3:Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 30 New York Giants: 34Leftwich: 22/31, 234 yards, 3 TD's, INT Ward: 14/44, TD Winslow: 65 yards, 2 TD's Manning: 30/36, 302 yards, 2 TD's Jacobs: 18/56 yards, TD Nicks: 33 yards, TD It was a surprising game, in which two of the best defenses in the NFC clashed, but gave up a combined total of 64 points. "I honestly didn't see this high-scoring game coming", Eli Manning told us after the game, "both teams still played great today, just some mistakes gave us the win." The biggest mistake? An interception thrown by Byron Leftwich in the 4th quarter. "Plain and simple, I blew the game for us. I think we would of won if that pass hadn't been intercepted.", said Byron. The interception came around the 8:00 mark, and gave New York a 34-23 lead. The Bucs came back to score a TD on the next drive, but it wasn't enough. "Byron played a great game. I basically told him to get this out of his head, and focus on next week." Raheem Morris commented on the interception. Next week the Bucs travel to Washington, and hope to go 3-1.After week 3: NFC SOUTH: New Orleans Saints (1-2-0) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1-0) Carolina Panthers (2-1-0) Atlanta Falcons (3-0-0) |

Tampa Bay fans have never seen something like this, as they were down 33-7. "It was the most surprising games I have ever seen. I told my team at halftime that if we win this, we will always be remembered. Well, I guess we will always be remembered."Raheem Morris told us. The game at halftime was 33-7. The score after the third was 40-28. "After that I brought my offense and my defense together and said, 'We have a chance now, and I don't know about you but I'm looking to go 3-1." said Byron Leftwich, who threw for the most amount of yards in Week 4 (387). The Bucs scored another touchdown with a pass to Bryant, his second of the day. Then, after an interception, they made the score 40-38 with a 43 yard field goal. And finally, with 3 seconds left, Matt Bryant kicked a game winning 52 yard field goal to silence the Washington crowd, and give Tampa Bay their 3rd win of the season. After week 4: NFC SOUTH: New Orleans Saints (2-2-0) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1-0) Carolina Panthers (2-1-0) Atlanta Falcons (3-0-0) |
