How so? If I'm in the Mexican area of my city, all the people speak Spanish. You don't hear any English. The stores sell goods that were imported from Mexico. They wear clothes from Mexico. How is this not experiencing Mexican culture? But to be fair, a lot of our clothes were made in Mexico, or some country that isn't the US My undies were made in El Salvador.

I'm not against traveling to other countries, but aside from a few trips to Canada, I never have.
To be honest, there are still a ton of major places right here in the United States that I've never been to, and I'd probably go to those places before I went overseas. Aside from the fact that it's probably much cheaper, they're just as appealing to me as vacation destinations, and they're easier to get to.

DON'T BLAME CANADA, BLAME YOURSELVES! Did you even read anything in this post? Because I'm pretty sure no one "blamed Canada" for anything. All was said is that Canada now requires a Passport, which is true. I'm not exactly sure who introduced the WHTI, but that was the initiative to require Passports entering Canada/Mexico/Caribbean/Bermuda by land/air/sea. travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbpmc_2223.htmlI guess it's not as expensive for Canadians, we have a few options we can use to cross the land borders. I have a Passport, I haven't travelled internationally, but if I went to fly from Toronto to anywhere in the US, I would have required it for a while. The land restriction, for Canada/US was June 1st. We had a big Tourist attraction in my area, that was hit hard by the Dollar and now the Passport requirements.

Perhaps non-Americans think everything is the same everywhere you go in America - it's not. Our country is so huge and there are so many differences just within the states. People have different accents, have different statewide laws, eat different foods, share different cultural events, etc. Perhaps, we Americans are still too busy exploring our great country. Don't get me wrong, I would love to go to Europe or Australia, but I do not have the time or the money. And it's true, if you come to LA you get a taste of a handful of cultures in just one city!

They don't call America the Melting Pot for nothing. In the Cincinnati area, we have so much random stuff that is truly other cultural. Like actual Chinese food (I like the fake Chinese food better), actual Mexican food, an Arab Hookah bar run by a guy from Turkey and a guy from Lebanon, playing authentic Arabic music. And then there are parts of one of our suburbs that may as well be South America. Its weird.

I can't speak for other people, but I've never had the money to travel, so I don't have one. It something that makes me really sad, actually. I would love to do a lot of traveling, especially overseas. Hopefully I'll manage this one day.
But, aside from the time I lived in Vegas for 2 months and a couple of trips to Florida, I haven't been more than 6 or 7 hours from home. Which is sad...
But some people never even stray that far, so I guess I'm ok, for now.

It was only towards the end of his tenure, that the former President started travelling abroad.. If the damn President isn't interested in leaving the country, what makes you think the people would be? Hell, a good number of Americans can't even point out where other countries are on a map - let alone travel to them.

America has a little of everything, which is why people from other countries wanna come here, even now with a crapty economy people still wanna visit/live here.
