I'm going to try and get into this because I love your diaries. Anyay...
Raw, massive Main Event, I like the Main Event use of the Hart Dynasty. Would have rather seen MVP go over Orton, but with a RUmble spot on the line, I cna see why the decision was made, but I hope MVP gets in the Rumble still. Interesting segment with the Big Show. I love that Chavo Guerrero appears to be receiving a push, it's about time he was used properly. I really hope you split either DiBiase or Rhodes from Legacy, and push one of them. Sheamus getting a shot at the United States Championship, much better than his real life WWE Championship reign, at least he could be a credible US Champion if he won. Miz versus Sheamus should be interesting to say the least. Meh, Raw's diva division bores me, tbh. Interesting segment with mcMahon, I think I know who you have in mind though. Either way, the result of DiBiase/Rhodes wouldn't have bothered me, so long as one receives a push outside of Legacy. Glad to see Cena & DX go over here actually, made more sense. I predicted Bret Hart, but you pulled it off pretty well.
Overall, good Raw, and as I say, I will try my best to continue reading this.

5th January 2010The usual ECW opening package airs, and is followed by Byron Saxton and Josh Matthews running down tonight’s show. Shelton Benjamin kicks off the show, as the number one contender to the ECW Championship hits the ring, microphone in hand. Benjamin talks about how Vance Archer has recently made it pretty clear that he thinks he deserves a shot at the ECW Championship, but that if he did deserve the shot then he would have earned it the hard way like Benjamin did. Shelton Benjamin then states that he wants a match with Vance Archer here tonight, and that he’ll do what nobody else has managed – he’ll put down Vance Archer once and for all. 1) Ezekial Jackson Defeated Trent Barreta W/ Caylen Croft – Tonight’s opening match saw the recently face turned Ezekial Jackson taking on Trent Barreta. While Barreta put on a solid effort he never really stood much of a chance in this match, as Jackson plowed through him, eventually putting him away with a mammoth chokeslam for the pinfall victory. Following the match Ezekial Jackson begins celebrating his victory when he is blindsided by Vladamir Kozlov. The two brawl around the ring and just when it looks like Jackson is getting the upper hand he is attacked from behind by William Regal. Regal and Kozlov launch a two on one assault on Ezekial, and leave him down on the mat as ECW on Sci-Fi cuts to commercials. ECW returns from commercials to see ECW general manager Tiffany speaking with the gold standard Shelton Benjamin. Benjamin asks what she is going to do about his request for a match with Vance Archer. Tiffany tells Shelton that he is the number one contender to the ECW Championship, and that she doesn’t want to risk him getting injured against Vance Archer. Benjamin states that it’s his choice and that if he doesn’t get Vance Archer tonight then what is the point in him even challenging for the title. Tiffany reluctantly agrees and tells Shelton Benjamin that he will go one on one with Vance Archer in tonight’s main event. 2) Yoshi Tatsu & The Hurricane Defeated Paul Burchill & Zack Ryder W/ Katie Lea – Paul Burchill has recently ended his feud with The Hurricane and begun one with Yoshi Tatsu, so this match was built off of that with Burchill teaming with Zack Ryder in an attempt to overcome the young highflying duo of Yoshi Tatsu and The Hurricane. The match was very close as all four men were given some solid offence. The ending stretch saw Burchill very much in control only for Tatsu to counter a Dangerous Buster attempt into a rollup to give Tatsu and Hurricane the win. Following the match Yoshi Tatsu and The Hurricane escape up the ramp while Paul Burchill looks on in anger while Katie Lea tries to calm him down and Zack Ryder just looks frustrated at the loss. ECW on Sci-Fi cuts backstage where Tommy Dreamer is standing by with ECW interviewer Savannah, who asks Tommy Dreamer about whether the rumours regarding his retirement are true. Dreamer tells her that he has been thinking, and that before he retires, he still needs to prove to everyone and to himself that he still has one more title reign left in him. He goes on to say that no matter what he has to do, he will become the ECW Champion one more time, and that’s a guarantee. A video package airs, promoting the Royal Rumble event, which airs on pay per view on the 31st of January. It focuses on the Royal Rumble match itself. 3) Shelton Benjamin Defeated Vance Archer via DQ – Tonight’s main event pitted the number one contender to the ECW Championship against a man who has made it his mission to destroy everything standing in his way to getting a title shot. This was a solid match, as while Benjamin clearly knew he was outmatched strength wise he focused on working away at the knees of Archer to take him down. Despite this Vance Archer controlled a lot of this match with his pure strength and surprising agility. It became clear that Vance Archer wasn’t interested in just winning this match, and he began choking Benjamin with his boot in the turnbuckle, and refused to release the hold after the five count, causing the referee to DQ him and award Benjamin the victory. Following the match Vance Archer is pulled away from Shelton Benjamin by a number of officials, before overpowering all of them and grabbing Benjamin, before proceeding to deliver an intense Blackout, completely taking Shelton Benjamin out. The music of the ECW Champion hits and Christian charges to the ring, causing Archer to swiftly exit. Christian and Archer engage in a staredown as ECW on Sci-Fi goes off the air.

9th January 2010WWE Superstars Taped Match Goldust Defeated Caylen Croft W/ Trent BarettaIn a back and forth match Goldust picked up the win following the Curtain Call. WWE Superstars Taped Match Matt Hardy Defeated Luke Gallows W/ CM Punk via Count OutAnother back and forth match saw Luke Gallows close to picking up the win, only for an appearance by Kane causing CM Punk and Luke Gallows to quickly exit the arena. The music of Chris Jericho hits, as the new number one contender to the World Heavyweight Championship hits the ring. Chris Jericho starts to talk about how his victory last week and how he defeated Batista and earned the title shot that he so obviously deserves. Chris Jericho goes on to say that 2010 is going to be the year of Chris Jericho and that there is nobody who can stop that, especially not the Undertaker. He is then interrupted by SmackDown general manager Theodore Long, who tells Jericho that he needs to do more than just run his mouth if he wants to be World Champion, and goes on to book Chris Jericho vs. Kane as tonight’s main event. SmackDown cuts to commercial with the site of Chris Jericho absolutely livid at the main event announcement. 1 - Royal Rumble Qualifying Match) Montel Vontavious Porter Defeated Carlito – This week’s edition of SmackDown kicked off with a Royal Rumble qualifying match between two superstars who were traded to SmackDown on Monday night. A solid performance by both men meant the crowd were firmly entertained, but only one of them could move on to the Royal Rumble match at the pay per view on the 31st which turned out to be Montel Vontavious Porter, who connected with the Drive By Kick to pick up the win. A video package airs, promoting the four way elimination match for the Intercontinental Championship which takes place later tonight. SmackDown then cuts to commercial. SmackDown returns from commercial to the site of the Straight Edge Society standing front and centre in the ring prior to CM Punk’s match. CM Punk talks about how the entire WWE universe needs saving, and that he is the man to do it. He talks about how he saved Luke Gallows, and how soon everyone will see the next inductee into the Straight Edge Society. CM Punk mentions how Kane thinks he can defeat him, and that he has been trying but that he will soon be proven wrong. CM Punk goes on to say that he is better than everybody in the arena and that they all know it, and that at the Royal Rumble, he will outlast 29 other men to prove it. 2) CM Punk W/ Luke Gallows Defeated Kung Fu Naki – This was nothing more than a squash match, although it was an entertaining one as Kung Fu Naki really knows how to sell moves. CM Punk is a master at getting the crowd to hate him, which meant this match had a lot of interest from fans. It was CM Punk who picked up the win and the momentum as he connected with the GTS and followed with the pinfall. SmackDown cuts backstage, where Eric Escobar is preparing for the four way elimination match for the Intercontinental Championship later tonight. Vickie Guerrero walks up to him, and tells him that there isn’t a hope of him winning the title tonight, because he’ll never be as big a superstar as he could have been with her by his side. Escobar tells her that not only will he win the championship tonight, but he’ll go on to win the Royal Rumble and that while he’s doing that all Vickie will be doing is sitting at home all alone. Escobar walks away, while Vickie is screaming at him to shut his mouth. SmackDown then cuts to commercials. 3 – Women’s Championship Match) Beth Phoenix Defeated Michelle McCool [C] via DQ – The women of SmackDown were up next to close out the first hour of this weeks SmackDown, as Michelle McCool defended the Women’s Championship against the Glamazon Beth Phoenix. The match itself was pretty solid, as both women strung together some solid technical wrestling moves as the momentum went back and forth between the two. It seemed like we were going to have a new Women’s Champion crowned tonight but as Beth was setting Michelle McCool up for the Glam Slam she was blindsided by McCool’s ally Layla, leading to the referee ringing the bell and calling for the DQ, allowing McCool to retain the title. Following the match Michelle McCool quickly slides out of the ring, but Layla isn’t so lucky as she is grabbed by a livid Beth Phoenix, who picks her up and drives her to the mat with a Glam Slam. Michelle grabs the Women’s Championship and slowly backs up the ramp, while Beth Phoenix stares her down as SmackDown cuts to commercials. SmackDown returns to the site of SmackDown interviewer Courtney Taylor standing by with the Intercontinental Champion John Morrison. Courtney asks him about whether he is confident about defending his Intercontinental Championship against three other men tonight. Morrison tells her that he is always confident, because he has the skill the back it up. He goes on to say that he is the biggest thing on SmackDown right now, and that his star is rising faster than any other superstar in the WWE, and that his win tonight will just cement that. Morrison goes on to say that he will qualify for the Royal Rumble match, and that at WrestleMania 26, it will be John Morrison holding the World Heavyweight Championship up high. 4 – Royal Rumble Qualifying Match) Batista Defeated Jimmy Wang Yang – This was nothing more than a squash match intended to show Batista as a monster heel, which it did effectively as Batista ran right through Jimmy Wang Yang, finishing him off quickly with the Batista Bomb to gain a spot in the Royal Rumble match. Following the match Batista grabs Jimmy Wang Yang. He pauses for several seconds, staring intensely at the crowd before delivering a thunderous Spinebuster. Batista follows this up with another Batista Bomb, gathering a lot of heat from the crowd. Batista slowly walks up the rampway while the camera’s focus on a completely unconscious Jimmy Wang Yang. SmackDown cuts to a video package, promoting the Royal Rumble pay per view on January 31st. It focuses on the World Heavyweight Championship match between the Undertaker and Chris Jericho. SmackDown then cuts to commercials. 5 - Intercontinental Championship Match) Dolph Ziggler Defeated John Morrison [C], Drew McIntyre and Eric Escobar – The big four way elimination match for the Intercontinental Championship was up next, as four of SmackDown’s hottest midcard stars battled it out for the gold. It didn’t take too long for the first elimination, as McIntyre pinned Eric Escobar following the Future Shock. The remaining three competitors fought it out for a considerable amount of time with a lot of back and forth action before John Morrison managed to connect with the Starship Pain on Drew McIntyre to get the second pinfall of the match. This left just Intercontinental Champion John Morrison and Drew McIntyre fighting it out, and the two really put on a show. There were a lot of near falls, and either man could have walked away with the title, but in the end it was an opportune counter from Dolph Ziggler to the Flying Chuck that allowed him to connect with the Zig Zag on Morrison to get the pinfall and become the new Intercontinental Champion. Following the match Dolph Ziggler is handed the Intercontinental Championship and begins to celebrate his victory and his first singles title in the WWE. He notices John Morrison getting to his feet and quickly exits the ring, walking backstage with the Intercontinental Championship raised high and John Morrison staring at him intensely. Smackdown then cuts to commercials. SmackDown returns from commercials to see the new Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler walking towards his locker room. SmackDown’s backstage interviewer Courtney Taylor runs up to him, and asks him how he feels being the new Intercontinental Champion. Ziggler states that it has been a long time coming, and that now he has achieved the first step towards his destiny of being the World Heavyweight Champion. Ziggler promises that his rise to the top is far from over, and that the good stuff has only just begun. 6) Chris Jericho Defeated Kane – Tonight’s main event pitted the number one contender to the World Heavyweight Championship, Chris Jericho, against the brother of the current champion, Kane, in a match that was set up at the start of the show. These two put on a solid contest, and it is clear now that Kane is being used as a babyface, which worked in terms of Chris Jericho being the sneaky smaller heel trying to do everything he could to win. Both men had their chances to get the win, but in the end it wasn’t either of the men involved who put the ending into place, as the Straightedge Society made their presence known to Kane, who seems to have entered into a feud with Kane after last week. CM Punk distracted the referee while Gallows nailed Kane with a jumping big boot. Chris Jericho followed the interference up with a Codebreaker to get the pinfall victory. Following the match CM Punk and Luke Gallows begin beating down on Kane, while Chris Jericho just watches the assault without really caring. Suddenly the lights go out, and when they come back on the Undertaker is in the ring. Chris Jericho and CM Punk both quickly exit the ring while Luke Gallows charges at the World Heavyweight Champion, receiving a big boot for his attempt. The Undertaker helps Kane to his feet, and to send a message the two deliver a big double Chokeslam to Luke Gallows. SmackDown goes off the air with the Brothers of Destruction staring down Chris Jericho and CM Punk.

- Jericho v Kane is a great main event. I see Punk getting involved. - Glad MVP's back with the Drive By Kick. Glad he beat Carlito - Punk's promo and squash were great. He's been built well. - Escobar in line for an IC title shot is okay, at least you're doing something with him. - Beth winning by DQ is good, as neither loses any cred. The aftermath makes Beth look good as well. - Good Morrison promo. I have a feeling he will lose his title tonight. - Good Batista squash. Doesn't do much for him though. - Yay Ziggler wins it! Awesome! Great match up. - Great promo afterwards as well. - As expected the SES gets involved. Good match all the same - Aftermath sends a message to both men. Good stuff.
It was a good show. Nothing stand out except the title change, which was great.

SmackDown, Jericho versus Kane should be good. Glad to see MVP over Carlito here as I would rather see MVP in the Rumble than Carlito. However, I think Qualifying matches for the Rumble are a bit iffy, but that's just me. I would love to see CM Punk win the Rumble match. Obvious squash here, puts Punk over before the Rumble. Interesting Escobar/Vickie segment, but I hope Escobar doesn't win the title. Nice DQ victory for Phoenix here as it allows McCool to keep the title. I like that Phoenix got hold of Layla, kind of a threat to McCool. I hope Morrison retains the title tonight. Obvious squash for JWY, glad to see Batista is being pushed as a monster heel. Bah, Ziggler with the victory is okay, I guess, but hopefully that means that John Morrison can go on and win the Rumble perhaps? Jericho over Kane is good, especially with the SES interference. Gallows taking the fall to the Brothers of Destruction is good. Punk and Jericho running scared adds to that. Looking for to the Royal Rumble, Rated R.

WWE News & Notes- While TNA IMPACT did improve in the ratings this week they were still nowhere near the same numbers that RAW pulled in, despite debuts from Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and Jeff Hardy. In related news Hardy’s appearance on TNA has left a very sour taste in WWE official’s mouths and have dealt a severe blow to any chances of Jeff Hardy returning to the WWE any time soon. - Despite rumours that ECW will be coming to an end within the coming months it does not look like that is indeed true. Some changes will be coming to the way the show is presented, including a new focus on the younger talent, but currently there are no plans to remove ECW on Sci-Fi from the WWE schedule. - There has been some talk between World Wrestling Entertainment and former star Rob Van Dam about a potential return to the company. It is not yet known what kind of return this would be, whether it would be full time or as a one off deal similar to his appearance during the Royal Rumble match last year. WWE have expressed an interest in wanting him to come in for a feud on ECW leading up to WrestleMania, potentially with Tommy Dreamer before his rumoured retirement. Of course this is all speculation right now, but more news is expected over the coming weeks. - There has been some talk of calling up Alberto Banderas (better known as Dos Caras Jr.). It is expected that if he was called up he would initially align himself with Vickie Guerrero and work a short program with Eric Escobar. Banderas has been called one of the hardest workers down in Florida Championship Wrestling, and WWE’s creative staff and keen on giving him a try out on the house show circuit over the next few weeks. - Several roster cuts are expected to be made over the forthcoming weeks as WWE plans to call up a number of wrestlers from FCW leading into and following WrestleMania. Many wrestlers currently on the bubble are expected to be cut during the next few weeks.

- Fine for MVP to get in the Rumble. I’m not expecting much from Carlito in this. - Punk is simply awesome now, and good to see him get a squash match. - Pretty obvious that Batista was going over poor Yang there. - Awesome to see Ziggler winning the IC Championship. That is a pleasant sight. - Figured that Jericho would go over Kane considering he is the number one contender, but is seemed like a decent match. Hopefullly Kane gets one last run. Fine aftermath as well.

11th January 2010SuperStars Taped Match Chavo Guerrero Defeated Evan BourneThis match was full of high flying action, but it was Chavo Guerrero’s new rough streak that allowed him to pick up the win with the Gory Bomb. Prior to the opening video a recap is shown of last week’s RAW, where Bret Hart was announced as the new general manager of RAW. The new general manager of RAW, Bret Hart, makes his way slowly down to the ring, getting a big reaction from the crowd. Bret Hart takes a microphone, and states that it feels good to be back in a WWE ring. He goes on to say that he and Vince McMahon are never going to get along, but that they don’t need to be friends to work together and that he intends to turn RAW into the number one show on TV. He goes on to announce that one of the big things he plans on doing is bring respect back to tag team wrestling, and goes on to announce that at the Royal Rumble, it will be the Unified Tag Team Champions Degeneration X defending the titles against the ‘greatest tag team on RAW’ the Hart Dynasty. Bret Hart also announces that Shawn Michaels will go one on one with Tyson Kidd later tonight, before Raw cuts to commercials. 1) Sheamus Defeated Santino Marella – The opening match of tonight’s RAW was clearly intended to continue Sheamus’s run towards the United States Championship. These two men put on a decent contest although it wasn’t spectacular as Sheamus used his brute strength to overpower Santino Marella, eventually putting him away with a vicious pump kick to the get the win. RAW cuts backstage where the three members of Legacy are in their locker room, with all three men looking pretty angry. Randy Orton starts telling Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes that they’ve been a disappointment in recent weeks, and that they need to prove that they still deserve to be around a living legend like himself. Randy then goes on to say that if either DiBiase or Rhodes lose their match tonight then they will be kicked out off Legacy. DiBiase looks close to getting in Orton’s face, but just storms out of the locker room as RAW cuts to commercials. 2 – Royal Rumble Qualifying Match) Cody Rhodes Defeated Primo – Randy Orton was at ringside throughout this match, just watching from a chair. Rhodes seemed pretty determined throughout this match, but Primo still took him to the limits and nearly got the win a number of times. In the end Cody Rhodes managed to pick up the win and secure his spot in Legacy by connecting with the Cross Rhodes and getting the pin. Prior to his match Shawn Michaels, alongside Degeneration X teammate Triple H, hit the ring and talked about how he never thought he would see the day that Bret Hart would be back in a WWE ring, let alone running RAW. Michaels goes on to say that if he gains one thing from this, it will be closure. Shawn Michaels then announces that next week on RAW he will call out Bret Hart man to man. The crowd goes crazy as Michael Cole shouts that next week on RAW it will be Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart, man to man. RAW then cuts to commercials. 3) Shawn Michaels W/ Triple H Defeated Tyson Kidd W/ The Hart Dynasty – As announced by new RAW general manager Bret Hart earlier in the night, Degeneration X will defend the Unified Tag Team Championships against the Hart Dynasty at the Royal Rumble, so this match had a lot of momentum on the line, especially since the Hart Dynasty have one upped Degeneration X on multiple occasions in the past few weeks. This match was very back and forth with a lot of solid wrestling. The match became pretty even before both The Hart Dynasty and Triple H were sent backstage for brawling, but the distraction this cause Tyson Kidd allowed Shawn Michaels to connect with the Sweet Chin Music for the win. RAW returns from a commercial break to see the World Wrestling Entertainment Champion John Cena standing alongside RAW’s backstage interviewer Eve. Eve asks Cena about Big Show’s recent attacks, to which John Cena replies that if the Big Show has a problem with him then he needs to come and tell him to his face. Cena goes on to say that if the Big Show wants a shot at the WWE Championship then all he has to do is ask, because he is a fighting champion and will defeat anyone who gets in the ring with him. 4) Melina & Gail Kim Defeated Maryse & Alicia Fox – Diva’s action kicked the second hour of RAW off, as the recent feud between Melina and Maryse continued into this match. This was a pretty back and forth match with neither team able to get a clear advantage at any time, but there was always going to be a clear winner, and that was Melina and Gail Kim as Melina nailed the Primal Scream on Alicia Fox to pick up the win. RAW cuts backstage to the office of RAW general manager Bret Hart, who is talking with Sheamus. Sheamus is demanding his United States Championship match with the Miz, which he earned last week on RAW. Bret tells Sheamus that he has been dominant since coming to RAW, but that he still hasn’t held a singles title, and that if he wants his title shot so bad then he will receive it, next week on RAW. Sheamus nods and leaves the office while Jerry Lawler repeats that next week on RAW it will be The Miz defending his United States Championship against Sheamus. A video package airs, promoting the Royal Rumble pay per view, which airs on January 31st. It focuses on the Royal Rumble match itself. 5) Ted DiBiase Defeated Kofi Kingston – Up next was the second of the Legacy members two matches tonight to determine whether they will stay in the stable. Earlier on in the show Cody Rhodes successfully defeated Primo to keep his spot but this was clearly a harder challenge for DiBiase, as he took on the controlled fury of Kofi Kingston, who has a storied rivalry with DiBiase’s mentor Randy Orton, who was once again at ringside. The match was very fast paced and very back and forth, although DiBiase seemed slightly distracted by the presence of Randy Orton and it was clear to see the growing tension between the two. Orton didn’t even show any emotion when DiBiase connected with the Dream Street to pick up the pinfall victory. Following a commercial break RAW cuts backstage where Ted DiBiase is heading back to the locker room. Randy Orton walks closely behind him and tells him congratulatios. DiBiase just looks at him, and begins to walk off when Orton grabs him and stops him, asking him what his problem is. After several tense moments DiBiase tells Orton that he doesn’t have a problem, to which Orton tells DiBiase that he had better remember who really elevated him on RAW. DiBiase nods, and walks off, leaving Orton watching him intensely. 6) John Cena Defeated Mike Knox – Tonight’s main event pitted the WWE Champion John Cena against one of the newest additions to the RAW roster, the maniacal Mike Knox. This match was solidly put together, and while Knox isn’t ever going to be called the greatest technical wrestler in the WWE he can still get by on his menace alone. These two went back and forth, with Knox using his strength to try and plough through the WWE Champion only for Cena to find some way to fight back no matter what situation he was put in. In the end John Cena picked up the victory, dodging a bicycle kick and connecting with the Attitude Adjustment for the pinfall. Following the match the music of the Big Show hits as the big man makes his way to the ring, with John Cena staring at him intently, ready for a fight. As Big Show enters the ring Cena charges at him, unloading with lefts and rights only for Big Show to throw him backwards. Cena charges at Show again only to be met with a big knockout right hand that sends him to the ground. Show then throws Cena outside of the ring and clears the announce table. Big Show then picks Cena up, before delivering a thunderous Chokeslam, sending the WWE Champion straight through the announce table. RAW comes to an end with the Big Show holding the WWE Championship up high over the body of John Cena.

Raw, good opening segment. I would love to see Tyson Kidd go over against Michaels, but I see DX ultimately retaining the Tag Titles. Glad to see Sheamus on the path to the United States Championship, and not the WWE Championship. Pleased to see Rhodes over Primo, obviously RHodes will make more sense in the Rumble. Looking forward to the HBK/Hart confrontation next week. Pretty predictable win for HBK here, I don't see the Hart Dynasty doing much. Good to see the faces go over in Divas action. Sheamus versus The Miz for the US Title should be good. Shocked to see DiBiase defeat Kingston, but I like the growing tension in Legacy. John Cena and Mike Knox in the Main Event? Not sue that'd be very good, but still. I would love to see Big Show as he WWE Champion. Good Raw show.

12th January 2010The ECW Champion Christian kicks off this week’s show, as the champ himself is set to kick off the latest edition of ECW on Syfi. Christian talks about how over recent weeks he and the rest of the ECW roster have found themselves under fire by Vance Archer, a man who believes he deserves a shot at the ECW Championship despite having done nothing to really earn it. Christian goes on to say that he’s spoken to ECW general manger Tiffany and that he’ll get his chance tonight, because tonight’s main event will be Christian vs. Vance Archer, and if Archer wins, he’ll be added to the ECW Championship match at the Royal Rumble, making it a triple threat match also involving Shelton Benjamin. Christian promises that he’ll teach Vance Archer the meaning of the word respect. ECW then cuts to a commercial break. 1) Yoshi Tatsu Defeated Zack Ryder – A solid opening match that pitted two young superstars against each stemming from their encounter in tag team action last week. In a back and forth match it was the thrilling Yoshi Tatsu who picked up the win with a Roundhouse Kick. Following the match Yoshi Tatsu wasn’t given a chance to celebrate as he was jumped from behind by Paul Burchill, who has had his problems with Yoshi Tatsu in recent weeks. Following a vicious assault Burchill nails Tatsu with the Dangerous Buster, before standing over the hurt Tatsu as ECW cuts backstage. The ECW Champion Christian is shown backstage getting ready for his match with Vance Archer later tonight. His challenger for the Royal Rumble, Shelton Benjamin, walks up to him and tells Christian if he really thinks he can beat Archer tonight. Christian says he can, and Benjamin tells him to make sure of it, because at the Royal Rumble he wants the chance to prove that he can defeat Christian one on one and take the ECW Championship. Shelton Benjamin walks away as Christian watches on. 2) Ezekial Jackson & Goldust Defeated William Regal & Vladamir Kozlov – Tag Team action was up next, as the ongoing feud between Ezekial Jackson and William Regal continued into this weeks ECW. A back and forth tag team encounter saw all four men get in some good offence, but in the end it was the Book of Ezekial that ended this match, as Jackson connected with the finishing move on Kozlov to get the pinfall. ECW cuts backstage where Vince McMahon makes a rare and shocking appearance on ECW on Syfi along with ECW general manager Tiffany. Tiffany asks Vince why he is here tonight, and Vince McMahon states that he is scouting the show, and warns her that he will be making a big announcement in the coming weeks. Tiffany asks him what this is about, and Vince tells her to mind her own business and just do her job. ECW then cuts to commercials. 3) Vance Archer Defeated Christian – Tonight’s main event pitted the ECW Championship against Vance Archer, with the added stipulation that if Archer wins the ECW Championship match at the Royal Rumble becomes a triple threat match featuring Christian, Shelton Benjamin and Vance Archer. This match was solidly put together, with Christian’s athleticism and heart being put to the test by Vance Archer’s pure strength. In the end it was this strength that gave Vance Archer the victory, as he overpowered a Killswitch attempt and connected with the Blackout for the victory. ECW on Syfi comes to an end with the image of Vance Archer standing over the ECW Champion Christian, with Byron Saxton making it clear that at the Royal Rumble it will be Christian vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Vance Archer for the ECW Championship.

- Fine promo by Christian to start the show. - Tastu/Ryder is a good opener, and although I don’t like Ryder losing, it was a good match. - Decent tag team match, nothing really grabbed my interest. - Figured that Archer would end up winning. I just hope that Archer doesn’t win the title.

15th JanuaryWWE Superstars Taped Match – Royal Rumble Qualifying Match Tommy Dreamer Defeated The HurricaneA solid match that featured a much more vicious and intense Tommy Dreamer than we’re used to seeing, as he put the Hurricane down with the Dreamer Driver to gain a spot in the Royal Rumble match. WWE Superstars Taped Match Matt Hardy Defeated Luke Gallows W/ CM PunkMatt Hardy was certainly faced with a tough opponent in this match and with CM Punk at ringside he was definitely on the defensive throughout, but Matt Hardy proved that he will not give up, connecting with the Twist of Fate to get the victory. SmackDown is kicked off by the Straight Edge Society, as CM Punk and Luke Gallows take to the ring, microphone in hand. Punk talks about how he only wants to save all the sinners that are present in this arena and that tonight he will save one member of this audience and convert them to the Straight Edge way of life. Punk asks for a volunteer, and suddenly a woman jumps the guard rail and tries to get into the ring. She is pulled back by security but Punk tells them to let her in. CM Punk asks her for her name and she tells him that she is called Serena. CM Punk tells her that he will save her and absolve her of her sins, and proceeds to shave her head, inducting her into the Straight Edge Society. After he is finished pyro suddenly erupts from the ringposts and Kane makes his way down to the ring. Gallows tries to fight Kane but he receives a Chokeslam for his trouble. This gives CM Punk and Serena enough time to exit the ring and Punk and Kane stare each other down as SmackDown cuts to commercials. 1 – Royal Rumble Qualifying Match) John Morrison Defeated Finlay – With only a few places left in the Royal Rumble match this match was all or nothing for both men as they aimed to get a spot in the match and a chance at headlining WrestleMania. In a back and forth match, which pitted Finlay’s roughneck offence against Morrison’s innovative moveset, it was John Morrison who picked up the win and a spot in the Royal Rumble match after he connected with the Starship Pain. SmackDown cuts backstage where the new Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler is talking to SmackDown’s general manager Theodore Long. Ziggler is bragging about how he won the title last week, and claims that this is just the first step on his road to the World Heavyweight Championship. Ziggler then asks Long why he called him here anyway, and Long responds by telling him that now he is the champion, everyone wants a piece of him. Ziggler tells them to bring it on, and Long grins, telling Ziggler that tonight he will put the title on the line for the first time, against none other than Mark Henry! Ziggler is furious, and storms out of the office as SmackDown cuts to commercials. 2) Beth Phoenix Defeated Layla W/ Michelle McCool – Last week Layla interfered in the Women’s Championship match between Michelle McCool and Beth Phoenix, saving McCool from losing the title to Phoenix. As a result this match was booked, giving Beth a chance at revenge. At get revenge she did, completely picking Layla apart in front of the Women’s Champion, and sending a message that Phoenix still wants the title by pinning Layla following the Glam Slam. SmackDown cuts backstage, where the Straight Edge Society, now also including Serena, are complaining to Theodore Long about Kane interrupting their ring time. Long tells CM Punk that he got himself into this trouble when he angered Kane, and that things are only going to get worse now that The Undertaker has got involved. Punk asks what he means, and Long tells him that he was confronted by the Undertaker earlier tonight who asked for a match, which Long was only too happy to give him. Long then announces that tonight’s main event will feature the World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker teaming with Kane to take on Chris Jericho and CM Punk! CM Punk warns Long that he’ll regret booking this match, and leads the Straight Edge Society out of the office. 3 – Intercontinental Championship Match) Dolph Ziggler [C] Defeated Mark Henry – Dolph Ziggler’s first defence of his newly won Intercontinental Championship was definitely not an easy one as he may have hoped, as he was faced with the world’s strongest man Mark Henry, who made his first in ring appearance since being traded to SmackDown two weeks ago. Ziggler was clearly at a disadvantage size and strength wise and as a result he focused on the knee of Mark Henry, stopping his mobility, before connecting with the Zig Zag to get the victory and retain the belt. Following a commercial break Dolph Ziggler is shown walking backstage, holding the Intercontinental Championship, when he bumps into the former champion, John Morrison. Ziggler smirks, and asks Morrison how it feels to be the former Intercontinental Champion, and Morrison tells him not to get used to having the belt over his shoulder, because it won’t be there long. Ziggler tells Morrison that he’ll never get the title back as long as he holds it and Morrison tells Ziggler that talk like that is just what he expects from a punk like Ziggler. Morrison reminds Ziggler that he still has a rematch clause, and that he’ll be cashing it in eventually. Morrison walks off, leaving Ziggler looking angrily on. 4) Eric Escobar Defeated Charlie Haas – This was nothing more than a throwaway match to continue the ongoing Escobar/ Vickie Guerrero feud. Haas put on a stellar performance and managed to turn this match into something solid, but it would be Escobar who would pick up the win, connecting with the Pure Escobar to get the pinfall. Following the match SmackDown swiftly cuts backstage where Vickie Guerrero is shown talking on the phone and watching Eric Esocbar celebrate his victory on a monitor. She tells whoever she is talking to that she has had enough of Escobar, and that she wants him gone for good, and that ‘he’ seems like the right man to do it. She pauses as the other voice speaks, before smiling and thanking the other person, before hanging up. SmackDown cuts to commercials with the sight of Vickie Guerrero grinning evilly. 5) R-Truth & Montel Vontavious Porter Defeated Drew McIntyre & Carlito – Tag team action was up next in a match that will have clear implications on the Intercontinental Championship hunt. This match was very close, and showed why SmackDown has a solid midcard as all four men put on excellent performances. The crowd were firmly behind the team of R-Truth and Montel Vontavious Porter, and McIntyre and Carlito played the heels perfectly, getting a lot of heat from the fans. The ending stretch saw Porter nail Carlito with the Playmaker only to receive a Future Shock for McIntyre a moment later. Before McIntyre could go for the pin however R-Truth delivered the Truth Axe to get the pinfall victory. A video package airs, promoting the Royal Rumble pay per view which airs on January 31st. It focuses on the World Heavyweight Championship Match between The Undertaker and Chris Jericho. A quick shot to the backstage area shows CM Punk, along with Luke Gallows and Serena, and Chris Jericho making their way to the ring. Matt Striker plugs that after the commercial break, Chris Jericho and CM Punk will take on the Brothers of Destruction in the main event! 6) The Undertaker & Kane Defeated Chris Jericho & CM Punk W/ The Straight Edge Society – Tonight’s main event pitted the Brothers of Destruction against Chris Jericho and CM Punk, who have been involved in feuds with The Undertaker and Kane respectively over recent weeks. This was a great main event, and the live crowd were pretty pumped to see the Brothers of Destruction teaming together again. Chris Jericho and CM Punk were at a clear disadvantage when it came to the psychological aspect of this match, as the Undertaker and Kane had clearly gotten under their skin before the match even began, but with the Straight Edge Society (Luke Gallows & Serena) at ringside the match became a little more even, with plenty of back and forth action until the very end, where Chris Jericho abandoned his partner, leading to CM Punk getting drilled with a Double Chokeslam and allowing Kane to get the pinfall on Punk for the victory. Following the match Luke Gallows and Serena pull the limp body of CM Punk out of the ring before any more damage can be done. SmackDown comes to an end with Kane doing his signature victory taunt causing pyro to erupt from the turnbuckles, while Chris Jericho just stares at the The Undertaker with shock.

Sorry for being late to get ot this, i love your diaries, just been busy the last few days, aqnd lamost cancelled my tna due to apparent lack of interest. Anyways, all of your shows are good, but Smackdown is my favorite, thought Bret Hart as GM of RAW is cool, and an immediate push for the hart dynasty is amusing, but may draw favoritism backlash lol. HBK calling out Bret will be great. /On the SD, I love what you are doing with Punk and kane, and mixing it with the title match to get the brothers of destruction is a recipe for success. ziggler becoming the new ic champ is fresh, and what should have happened, good way to build him right away with a defense over henry, and im looking foeward to his next match. Im anxious to know who guerrero was on the phone with as well
good work mate

18th January 2010WWE Superstars Taped Match Mike Knox Defeated Santino MarellaComing off a loss against WWE Champion John Cena on RAW last week Mike Knox got his first victory since joining the RAW brand, pinning Santino Marella following the Knox Out. Shawn Michaels kicks off this week’s edition of Monday Night RAW, ready for his in ring confrontation with Bret Hart, which was announced last week. Shawn talks about how he doesn’t want to keep people waiting tonight, and that he came here to do one thing. He proceeds to call out the general manager of RAW, Bret Hart. After several moments Bret Hart finally begins making his way to the ring, getting a good pop. Bret enters the ring, and there’s a tense few moments between the two legendary wrestlers. Shawn talks to Bret about their history, and how they’re never going to be the best of friends, but that he hopes they can work together. Bret tells Shawn that he is sick of holding grudges, and that he is just here to improve Monday nights. Shawn nods, and offers his hand to Bret Hart, causing everyone in the crowd to go silent. Bret eventually takes the hand, causing the crowd to explode with cheers. Bret silently leaves the ring, but before he can leave he announces that tonight’s main event will feature none other than Shawn Michaels facing off against the Big Show! RAW cuts to commercial with Shawn grinning slightly and Bret walking backstage. 1 – United States Championship Match) Sheamus Defeated The Miz [C] via Count Out – The opening match of tonight’s RAW featured the Intercontinental Champion The Miz defending the belt against Sheamus, who has had more than his fair share of problems with The Miz in recent weeks. Miz didn’t seem too thrilled to step in the ring with Sheamus, and it was understandable why when Sheamus nearly took the title away from Miz a number of times before the Miz just had enough, dodging the Bicycle Kick and exiting the ring. Miz grabbed the title and just walked up the ramp, getting counted out and losing the match, but keeping the title in the process, leaving Sheamus furious. RAW cuts backstage where Randy Orton is preparing for his match later tonight. Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes walk up to him, and Rhodes wishes him luck. DiBiase on the other hand tells Orton that like them last week, tonight is Orton’s chance to prove to everyone that he deserves to be in Legacy, and that he hasn’t lost his edge. Randy Orton asks DiBiase what he is insinuating, and DiBiase tells Orton he isn’t insinuating anything, just making a point. Randy Orton tells DiBiase to keep his thoughts to himself, because nobody wants to hear them. Orton walks off, and Cody Rhodes asks DiBiase “What the hell man?” before leaving as well. DiBiase just grins as RAW cuts to commercial. 2) The Hart Dynasty W/ Natayla Defeated Primo & Evan Bourne – With their confirmed Unified Tag Team Championship match now just two weeks away this match was pretty much just to put the Hart Dynasty over as a serious threat to Degeneration X’s title run. And that is exactly how they looked, picking apart Primo and Evan Bourne with their calculated tag team offence that kept Primo and Bourne grounded at all times. Tyson Kidd would eventually get the pinfall on Primo following a Springboard Hart Attack. The Diva’s Champion Melina is shown backstage, talking to a member of the backstage team when Maryse walks up to her, tapping her shoulder. Melina asks what Maryse wants, and states that maybe it’s another loss to the Diva’s Champion. Maryse gives one of her obnoxious fake laughs, and tells Melina that in their last singles match Melina got lucky, but that up next she has a chance to get another Diva’s Championship match and that she intends to get it. Melina wishes Maryse good luck and Maryse tells her that she doesn’t need luck, because she is pure talent. Melina is about to say something but Maryse does her ‘speak to the hand’ gesture and walks off as RAW cuts to a commercial break. 3 – Winner Challenges for the Diva’s Championship Next Week) Maryse Defeated Gail Kim & Alicia Fox – A big Diva’s match this week, as three of the top diva’s on the RAW brand faced off with a shot at Melina’s Diva’s Championship on the line next week on RAW. The crowd seemed surprisingly into this match, mainly because there was some solid wrestling between all three Diva’s, especially the exchanges between Maryse and Gail Kim. If you’ve been following RAW over the past few weeks then it will come as no surprise as to who the winner was, as Maryse connected with the French TKO on Gail Kim to collect the pinfall victory and book herself another Diva’s championship next week on RAW. RAW cuts backstage to RAW general manager Bret Hart, who is talking to the Big Show, who later tonight will be going one on one with Shawn Michaels. Big Show asks Bret why he booked tonight’s main event, because he has more important people to deal with, clearly referring to the WWE Champion John Cena. Bret tells Big Show that it is a warm up match, because at the request of both the WWE board and John Cena himself at the Royal Rumble it will be the Big Show challenging for the WWE Championship against John Cena! Big Show smiles, and tells Bret that he made the right call by booking the match before walking off, sending RAW to a commercial break. Following the commercial break a video package airs, promoting the Royal Rumble pay per view, which airs on the 31st of January. It focuses heavily on the Royal Rumble match itself. 4) Kofi Kingston Defeated Randy Orton – With the recent tension in the Legacy stable this match was clearly booked to continue that storyline as Ted DiBiase successfully managed to pull off a win against Kofi Kingston last week on RAW. With the prescence of Legacy at ringside clearly getting the attention of Randy Orton throughout the match Kofi Kingston managed to capitalise and take control of this match with his unorthodox offence a number of times throughout the match. Randy Orton as always wouldn’t stay down without a fight, pulling out every little dirty trick he could to try and win the match. In the end it was Kingston’s quick reactions that allowed him to pick up the win against his long time rival, as he managed to block an RKO attempt and connect with a sudden Trouble in Paradise to get the pinfall, leaving Legacy shaking their heads in disappointment on the outside. RAW cuts backstage where RAW interviewer Eve is standing by with the Hart Dynasty, who are sat around preparing to watch the main event on a tv monitor. Eve asks the Hart Dynasty about whether they feel confident about their Royal Rumble match against Degeneration X for the Unified Tag Team Championship. Tyson Kidd tells her that they don’t need to be confident, because it isn’t confidence that will lead them to walking away with the titles, but their pure natural talent. David Hart Smith goes on to say that it doesn’t matter what Degeneration X bring to the match, because they will bring it harder and stronger and better than DX could ever manage. Natayla then tells Eve to get lost, because they have a match to scout. RAW then cuts to commercials. 5) Big Show Defeated Shawn Michaels – Tonight’s main event pitted two of RAW’s biggest stars against each other in singles action as Big show, who has been going after the WWE Championship in recent weeks, took on one half of the Unified Tag Team Championships, Shawn Michaels. The crowd seemed pretty hyped for this match, as it pitted Michaels against an opponent with a massive size, weight and strength advantage, which meant Michaels went all out in an attempt at downing the behemoth. Big Show was just too strong for Michaels however, and he controlled a large portion of the match, throwing Michaels around. Shawn would eventually mount a comeback, taking Big Show to his knees with a superkick out of nowhere. Michaels would go for another superkick, but Big show managed to dodge the move before delivering a big knockout right hand to get the pinfall. Following the match John Cena runs to the ring and jumps Big Show from behind before he even gets a chance to celebrate his big victory. A massive brawl between the two Royal Rumble opponents breaks out, and just as Big Show is getting the upper hand John Cena nails him in the head with the WWE Championship belt, sending him to his knees. Cena hits Big Show again with the title, sending him to the ground. For the first time since their feud started RAW comes to an end with the WWE Champion John Cena standing tall over the body of the Big Show.

19th January 2010The music of Vance Archer hits the system, as Vance Archer looks set to kick off this week’s edition of ECW on Syfi. Archer grabs a microphone from the ring announcer, and cuts a passable promo about winning his place into the ECW Championship match at the Royal Rumble by defeating Christian last week on ECW. Archer goes on to say that he is the most intense wrestler in the WWE, and that at the Royal Rumble he will prove that by defeating both Christian and Shelton Benjamin to become the new ECW Champion. He proceeds to declare that tonight he will team with Vladamir Kozlov to take on Shelton Benjamin and Ezekial Jackson and that once again he will show everyone that he is better, stronger and more intense than Christian and Shelton Benjamin will ever be. 1 – Royal Rumble Qualifying Match) Yoshi Tatsu Defeated William Regal – Tonight’s opening match pitted the roughneck brit William Regal against the fast highflying Yoshi Tatsu in a Royal Rumble qualifying match. These two put on a solid match together, and Tatsu really shone as a future star of the WWE, overcoming the much more experienced William Regal by catching him off guard with a Roundhouse Kick to get the pinfall and to book himself a spot in the Royal Rumble match. Following the match Yoshi Tatsu begins to celebrate his win when suddenly he is jumped from behind by Paul Burchill, who has been involved with a feud with Tatsu for the past few weeks, and proceeds to once again deliver a vicious beat down to Tatsu, finishing it off with the Dangerous Buster. Burchill stands over the body of Yoshi Tatsu, screaming at him to keep clear of him or continue to suffer before ECW cuts to commercials. When ECW returns from commercial it cuts to the backstage area where Savannah is standing by with Zack Ryder. Savannah asks Ryder about his chances in the Royal Rumble match next week. Zack Ryder tells Savannah that she must be tripping if she thinks anybody other than Zack Ryder is going to win the Royal Rumble match and go on to headline WrestleMania. Ryder states that he was born to be in the main event at WrestleMania, and that the Royal Rumble match is just a technicality. He tells Savannah to watch his match up next and that maybe afterwards they can go out and celebrate. Ryder does his signature ‘You know It’ before walking off. 2) Zack Ryder Defeated Tommy Dreamer via DQ – Zack Ryder entered this match acting cockier than ever, sure of his success at the Royal Rumble next weekend. Tommy Dreamer however came into this match looking more focused than ever, determined to make his own impact. These two had a pretty competitive match, both men getting in plenty of offence. There were times when Ryder could have picked up the win but his arrogance and showboating wasted too much time, while Dreamer just seemed dedicated to hurting Ryder. In the end Dreamer just seemed to snap, grabbing a steel chair and blasting Ryder in the head with it, causing the disqualification. Dreamer just walked backstage, leaving the fans clueless at his actions. ECW on Syfi cuts backstage, where Tiffany walks into her office to find Vince McMahon standing there for the second time in two weeks. Tiffany is clearly surprised to see him and asks what he wants. Vince McMahon tells her that he has been watching ECW for weeks, and that he now knows exactly what is wrong with it – it’s lost it’s edge. Tiffany asks what he is talking about and Vince just tells her that next week he will be making a big announcement regarding the future of ECW, and that every single member of the ECW roster should be there. 3) Vance Archer & Vladamir Kozlov Defeated Shelton Benjamin & Ezekial Jackson – This week’s ECW broadcast was headlined by a big tag team match that saw two separate feuds come together in hard hitting tag team action. Shelton Benjamin was clearly the odd one out here, as the other three men focus mainly on their strength to dominate their opponents, while Benjamin uses his agility and quick thinking. Despite that he held his own against his opponents, and showed good teamwork with Jackson. However the ending stretch saw Jackson and Kozlov brawl around the ring, leaving just Archer and an already hurt Shelton Benjamin in the ring. Benjamin attempted to fight off Archer, refusing to back down but only received a brutal Blackout for his efforts, allowing Archer to get the pinfall and win it for his team. This week’s ECW on Syfi comes to an end with Vance Archer standing over the lifeless body of Shelton Benjamin while the ECW Champion Christian walks out onto the ramp way, just staring at Archer.

- Decent way to kick off ECW. You seem to be pushing Vance Archer which is alright. - Yoshi getting in to the rumble is awesome, Regal not is sad, aftermath attack by Burchill is cool. - Good Ryder promo, Nice to see him getting mic time. - Dreamer snapping is pretty cool, would be cool to see him be a tweener and just attack everyone. - Main event was pretty solid, shame to see Benjamin and Jackson lose but you are really pushing Archer right now.
Solid show, Dale.

22nd January 2010WWE Superstars Taped Match The Hurricane & Goldust Defeated The DudebustersECW was represented on Superstars via tag team action, as the Dudebusters attempted to gain a win and finally make an impact in the WWE. However that wasn’t to be as Goldust got the pin of Croft following the Curtain Call to give the highly unusual team of Hurricane and Goldust the win. WWE Superstars Taped Match Montel Vontavious Porter Defeated Drew McIntyreA solid Superstars main event pitted Montel Vontavious Porter against the ‘chosen one’ Drew McIntyre in a highly competitive match. Both superstars gave it their all but only one could come out on top, which MVP did when he delivered a Playmaker on McIntyre to pick up the pinfall victory. The Straight Edge Society hit the ring first, led by CM Punk as always. Punk grabs a microphone and starts talking about how last week Chris Jericho left him high and dry against the Brothers of Destruction and that he deserves better because he is the Straight Edge saviour. He is then interrupted by Chris Jericho, who tells Punk to stop his whining, and that if he had been smarter then he would never have been left alone in the ring with the Undertaker and Kane. The two start arguing before being interrupted by SmackDown general manager Theodore Long, who tells them that they need to stop arguing with each other, and start focusing on their matches for tonight. Both men look confused but then Long goes on to announce that tonight we will see Chris Jericho facing Kane and CM Punk challenging The Undertaker. Both Jericho and Punk are clearly angered at the announcement, but Long just tells them to get ready for their matches as SmackDown cuts to commercials. 1 – Royal Rumble Qualifying Match) Matt Hardy Defeated Luke Gallows – With the Royal Rumble just one week away there was everything to fight for in this match as both wrestlers attempted to book themselves spots in the illustrious Royal Rumble match. Not only that but these two men have had more than their fair share of run ins with each other over the past few weeks. This week it was Matt Hardy who came away with the victory, connecting with the Twist of Fate on Gallows to get the pinfall. SmackDown cuts backstage, where Chris Jericho and the Straight Edge Society are still arguing, this time about the announcement that Jericho and CM Punk will take on each other’s rivals later tonight. Punk tells Jericho that he has proven in the past that he can defeat the Undertaker, so why should he have to do it again? Jericho tells Punk that he’s simply a coward, and that if he can soften up the Undertaker tonight then he will give him the first shot at the World Heavyweight Championship following the Royal Rumble. Punk tells Jericho that he is the Straight Edge saviour, and that he doesn’t do other peoples dirty work before walking away as SmackDown cuts to commercials. 2) Beth Phoenix & Mickie James Defeated Michelle McCool & Layla – Women’s tag team action here, as the feud between Women’s Champion Michelle McCool and Beth Phoenix continues this week on SmackDown. In a decent bout all four women put on solid performances, although Layla was outshone by the other three. The ending stretch saw Mickie James take Layla out of the match via a baseball slide to the outside, followed by a Glam Slam from Phoenix to McCool to get the pinfall victory. SmackDown cuts backstage where Eric Escobar is getting ready for his match later on tonight. Vickie Guerrero walks up to him, looking smug and grinning. She taunts Escobar, telling him that he was a nobody when she met him, and that he’s still a nobody. Escobar tells her to carry on believing that because he has a match to go win. Escobar walks off and Vickie just continues grinning, before saying that she’ll have the last laugh. 3) Chris Jericho Defeated Kane – The first hour main event pitted the number one contender to the World Heavyweight Championship against the Champion’s brother Kane. These two have clashed on SmackDown in the past few weeks, and this match was full of back and forth offence as both men attempted to get the upper hand throughout the match only for the other to come back either through Jericho’s technical skills and dirty tactics or through Kane’s brute strength. Jericho quickly realised he couldn’t beat Kane through strength and began working away at Kane’s knee, which proved the difference maker as Kane’s knee gave way during a Chokeslam attempt, allowing Jericho to connect with the Codebreaker for the win. SmackDown cuts backstage, where John Morrison and R-Truth are shown talking and getting ready for their tag team match later tonight. Morrison mentions that after he pins Ziggler tonight he will go on and take back his Intercontinental Championship. R-Truth tells him not to get his hopes up, because he’ll be the one who takes the Intercontinental Championships from ‘that punk’ Dolph Ziggler. The two share a laugh, with Morrison telling Truth that the best man will win. SmackDown then cuts to commercials. 4) Eric Escobar Defeated Charlie Haas – This wasn’t anything special, and could be considered simply filler which is definitely a sad thought when it you look at how far Charlie Haas has fallen. In a back and forth match Escobar always looked like he was going to come off victorious, and he did exactly that when he connected with the Pure Escobar. Just a shame that the fans didn’t really care. Following the match Escobar doesn’t even get a chance to celebrate when he is surprisingly attacked from behind by RAW superstar Chavo Guerrero, who gets a bigger cheer from the live crowd than Escobar managed throughout the whole match. Chavo, who has demonstrated a new found vicious streak on RAW, proceeds to unleash a vicious assault on Escobar while Vickie Guerrero makes her way to ringside. Chavo finishes the attack off with a Frogsplash before Vickie enters the ring and lifts Chavo’s hand while Chavo just grins sickly at Escobar, who is writhing in pain on the floor. SmackDown then cuts to a video package. A video package airs promoting the Royal Rumble pay per view which airs on the 31st of January. It focuses on the World Heavyweight Championship match between The Undertaker and Chris Jericho. SmackDown then cuts to commercials. 5) John Morrison & R-Truth Defeated Dolph Ziggler & Carlito – The penultimate match of tonight’s SmackDown broadcast pitted the Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler and his partner Carlito against the former champion John Morrison and his partner R-Truth. This match showed exactly how strong the SmackDown mid card scene is compared to RAW’s right now, and the fans really seemed to appreciate that as they were pretty vocal during this match in favour of John Morrison and R-Truth. Despite Ziggler and Carlito putting up a good fight they just couldn’t get the job done, as Morrison pinned Ziggler following the Starship Pain. SmackDown cuts backstage where Theodore Long is talking on the phone. He tells the other person that he is glad for the update, and that it will be good to have him back on SmackDown where he belongs. Long goes on to say that he’s sorted it all out, and that he is hoping that the fans will be as surprised as the superstars are when he makes his big return sooner rather than later. SmackDown then cuts to commercials before the main event. Prior to the main event the number one contender to the Undertaker’s World Heavyweight Championship Chris Jericho makes his way to ringside and joins the announce team to guest commentate on the main event. 6) The Undertaker Defeated CM Punk W/ Straight Edge Society via DQ – Tonight’s main event pitted The Undertaker against CM Punk, who has been feuding with the Undertaker’s brother Kane over the past few weeks. The match was excellent and with Chris Jericho doing announce work it was made even better. Both men put on a solid performance and this match just goes to show that the Undertaker definitely still has it. The match was pretty back and forth, mainly down to the help of the Straight Edge Society keeping CM Punk in the match a number of times. The ending stretch saw CM Punk take the offensive thanks to a timely distraction from Luke Gallows allowing Punk to nail the Undertaker with the World Heavyweight Championship. Punk was clearly waiting for the Undertaker to get to his feet and turn around to connect with the GTS but as Undertaker got to his feet Chris Jericho left the announce table and entered the ring, nailing a groggy Undertaker with the Codebreaker right in front of the referee to cause the disqualification. Following the match Chris Jericho unleashes a vicious assault on the Undertaker only to be pulled away by CM Punk, who is furious that Jericho has cost him a match against the World Heavyweight Champion. The two argue and suddenly a brawl erupts, which means neither men notice the Undertaker suddenly sit up. Undertaker tears through Luke Gallows and even Chokeslams Serena. Both Jericho and Punk stop brawling, looking likely to team up against Undertaker when Jericho suddenly pushes Punk straight into an Undertaker Chokeslam, giving Jericho the time to escape up the ramp. SmackDown comes to an end with Jericho staring at the devastation the Undertaker has brought upon the Straight Edge Society who are all out cold in the ring, while the Undertaker does his cut throat motion as the screen fades to black.

-Punk/'Taker & Kane/Jericho sound like good matches for tonight -Hardy qualifying for the Rumble is good, would've liked Gallows to qualify too though -Beth pinning McCool is big for their feud -Hopefully Escobar doesn't get pushed too far in this diary as he's just not that good to me -Jericho/Kane sounded good, glad Jericho won -I like Morrison & Truth having a friendly rivalry over who will be Intercontinental Champion -Escobar/Haas was filler, should've at least been a Rumble qualifier. Chavo attacking him is interesting -Morrison pinning Ziggler in the tag match may lead to Morrison getting the Title shot over Truth -Wonder who Long was talking to -Main event was good and the DQ finish was the right way to go. Liked Jericho pushing Punk into 'Taker as it's something he would likely do
Very good Smackdown, it sucks that nobody seems to be replying to this sim because it seems pretty good.
