Yes, I could have just PMed. And no, this probably doesn't need it's own thread.
Any chance instead of just locking the Tattoo Thread completely, it could just be moved to the Banter Board?
I mean, it says in the very first post that pretty much all of us are not only ok with it being a Banter topic, but we kind of expected it to end up there.
Seems like a waste of a thread that already has active members that post with in it.
As for anyone that wants to come back with out unimportant this thread was, and how it was nothing but spam, I'd love for someone to point out a single "Large" thread that doesn't have spam in it. Horror Movie Thread, I'm talking to you...

I doubt this is going to help, but I really, really loved that thread. Tattoos are an absolute passion of mine, banter board or not, we never had any fighting or problems, and weren't even offered a warning. Sad AdamBomb

Dude, first, this will probably end up getting closed without a fair hearing, but ohwell, i'll say my piece
The tattoo thread started off as thread solely about tattoos, but then it transcended that, before the thread, i didn't really speak to anyone from here outside of the forum, but now i speak to Adam Bomb and Focalin a hell of alot, and thats whats happened in the tat thread, its gone from just a tattoo thread to a sort of chat thread amongst friends, whats wrong with that? as long as spam doesn't spill out i don't see the problem... also i don't consider that thread to have any spam in it because 1) all the people in there have some experience with tattoos and 2) the tWo thing... ok, this is a loose arguement, and i've told everyone to delete any tWo stuff, but that was based off of tattoos, thus making it on topic
I mean seriously, do you expect the tattoo to just be pictures of tattoos, that rubbish, of course its not... its a mini community within a community... and i'll be damned if that gets locked without even a warning, considering the amount of threads that have more negativity and more spam in this forum.
And the banter bored i'll screw things for Focalin as he isn't even aloud in the banter board really because of pointless rules

I mean, it'd be one thing if I was asking for it to be re opened or anything. I'm just saying "Why not just move the thread?". Ironically, the first 30 pages are filled with jokes about "When we'll be moved".
Seems like a harsh punishment when you have other threads, with small post counts, that get cleaned up all the time instead of just locked.

I can't imagine the whole "tWo" thing being the issues, as we've had millions of fads since 2001. Hell, I'd be willing to be that 95% of all members that have been here since 2001-2002 have been in a fad at some point or another.

The WWE board is terrible with constant fighting, name calling, and spam. I can think of a handful of threads ALL about Sheamus that are still open, and are atrocious. Of course, I'd like it to stay in the lounge and reopened - because if it is moved, more than likely new members that get tattooed won't see it, and 90% of replies to them will be, "that's cool. use the official thread"

Yeah...it's sad. We lived for less then a day with tWo. and i like it. and i agree with u Asher, i didn't talk to anyone really untill i posted in the tattoo thread. I never talked to Adam untill i posted on here, and we became somewhat good friend fast....it's just sad, esp since the tWo sigs were bad ass

Yeah, I definitely don't agree with it being locked. If anything, just clean it up a bit and keep it on topic, or move it to the Banter Board. Speaking from experience, it's certainly not impossible to clean up a thread and get it back on topic--even if it is one of those casual, hundread+ page long ones. I've had to do it countless times a few months back. It just takes some effort.

I really don't care, it's the internet, not my life. I do think it's ing ridiculous, though. Just because you have the power and are probably in a bad mood about your toys not shipping or something you'll take it out on people who never fight, have fun, and act mature on a daily basis around here, which I doubt you can find on any other board on this forum. Tattoo of the Year should be a fun little thread/contest.

There's no point in this, guys.
We all know that the tattoo thread was the most well behaved and on topic thread on the board. If there was a jag off who brought it to Jack's attention that 15 posts went by without a picture of a tattoo (regardless that tattoos were being talked about), then that person is a joke. If Jack did it himself because he felt like it, then he's the joke.
This is the internet, not a jail. Now they can deal with us posting a new thread for all the new tattoos. Thus they've taken away a solution and created a problem.

Tattoo of the Year should be a fun little thread/contest. In my 'real life' - I live in a small town. No one I know is into tattoos as much as I am. Most friends thik they're cool, but don't read five magazines a month, own a few books, or even care about how good the art is. That's what the thread offered for me. That's why I love this forum, no matter what it is, I can chat to people here about it - and in that instance, it was tattoos. I don't care to flaunt my vegetarianism around, I don't care too much to discuss punk or thrash music here, what really love is wrestling, and tattoos. This place had both. And thank you OTE - if I had "mod-like" powers for that one thread - I can guarantee there would have been no spamming. It was, mah baby.

We bonded because of the thread. We kept the board entertaining while following the rules.

The SVR2010 Thread was quite relaxed at times, to put it easily. I was worried about that getting locked a good number of times. It works its way back on topic eventually and there really is no harm to it. I mean this place is a community--that kind of stuff happens.

That sucks about the thread guys. I haven't a single shred of ink on my body but was entertained by that thread. And it actually gave me ideas as to what I wanted my first tat to look like. Just another reason for the text under my avatar.
