Just got back from Walmart. Was told they had Mattel in stock. I show up and they are sitting on the skids. HOWEVER, I cannot buy them. Eventhough there is a big red letters on the box saying 1/1/10 release.......Walmart is NOT honoring that. This Walmart is holding off for about 2 weeks. Why? B/c thats the day THEY have decided to make room for it on the shelf. The employee took them off the skids and took them to back.
Must give credit to the nice assistant manager I went to bitch to. She did come back and even offered to hold them for me. So, this release date is not 100% certain, as we have seen some places put them out early. And now we find places that will put them out later.

That sucks. Hopefully your Targets & TRU will have them. Doubtful on the TRU. They put out 3 cases of Mattel in the past couple of weeks. My buddy said he has no more coming in for another few weeks. I'm hoping for Target.

Yea, Id check Target & Toys R Us. I went to Toys R Us today and they had the motherload, like every figure was on the shelf. I also hit a Target (not hard though) and they had some leftovers, looked like someone had already been there, but they had alot of figs. Forget Wal-Mart, you'll find 'em.

Try your local Target. That's where I found mine, and it seems a lot of others have as well.

i would open the cases myself and go pay Just as I did today. I found a pallet of mattel stuff next to the bikes so I sifted through the boxes and indulged. No one said a word to me, but I'm sure the loss prevention team thought I was a weirdo.

My Walmart told me the same thing today, though they "found room" for the FlexForce ring and put that out on the shelf. Sigh. I was told next weekend to come back.

Yeah I work at walmart and the reset for the toy department doesn't happen to our store until next Wednesday, we have the 2 packs he rings and a box of elites in stock but they are labeled new mod and on pallets and in the bins in the backroom. Yeah it does say do not put out until 1/1/10 but as long as they are new mod they are not going on the sales floor until those mods are set and there's a legit spot for them, unless the people who stocked them don't care and/or cant read for crap. Usually stores get fined for selling products before release dates but since they're just toys it doesn't matter.
Sorry you had to go through that my buddy and I were wondering how certain stores were gonna work with the release because we both work in retail and I know an action figure release date doesn't mean anything to the stores unless its this years hott new toy i.e those damn pointless Zuzu pets that arent worth crap.

As crappy as Walmart is, they need to be resetting their toy aisle every freakin day. one minute there's nothing in there, next day there's toys from 1999 there.

Pretty much what the Walmart people said. This guy explained it a lot better than I did.

I went to TRU today to see if maybe they restocked the Classics, but they didn't, but they did stock Mattel already. They had everything but Heritage.
I ended up getting Evan Bourne, would have got Cena, but they were out of him.

Yeah they reset 3 times a year, I think 4 and the instock for wrestling figures usually sux we haven't even received basics or forceflex, I think we got the belts but I've been checking to see what's coming in on the trucks and if my store was to do a big release in the morning for the figures all we would have is a box of rings which I think is 3 or 4, belts probably for 4, a box of 2 packs which is 6, and a box of elites which is 6 to a box and that's it.

Thanks for the info. Me and my brother inlaw were going to hit up Walmart first in the morning but maybe not now.

Walmart can eat me. The entire WWE section has been non-existent for over a month now and tonight was no different.
