I don't think anyone really watches TNA for Kong.

Act shocked if you want to but Bubba The Love Sponge is one of biggest names in Radio and he promotes TNA, which can expand TNA's audience which is why TNA brought him in. I know it's shocking that a wrestling promotion that is trying to step up into the mainstream would try to attract new viewers, it's a novel concept that just might catch on. ICP attracts fans, doesn't mean you hire them. Same idea.

Kong leaving will not affect TNA's bottomline, nobody is going to tune in to see a fat female version of Booker T dominate women. Women in wrestling are basically eye candy and I'm sure Hogan has stressed that to TNA. Hopefully ODB is next to go. I love it! I agree that women wrestlers don't draw a dime. Eye candy and nothing else -- leave the action to the men. Yeah because it's people like the MCMG's(who I am a fan of btw) are the ones who at one point made the rating spike not some bimbos who should be cage dancing and cooking the men folk there supper.:x

I am sad that Kong is leaving but it is even worse that Alissa Flash is following her. I mean it might be good for any other company that wants to scoop them up but it is a bad break for tna's ko division since they were both great talents and Flash was capable of being a great champ in the future.

I'm not the one claiming Bubba is even a "huge name". I simply brought up someone who would bring people in that you may not want at an event. Like Bubba would do if he even actually attracted people.

Dude the guy is in only 7 markets and is on Sirius, he isnt even close to one of the biggest radio guys. He doesnt promote TNA at all, the guy openly complains about everything they are doing wrong. He knows jack crap about how the wrestling business works, he is all around terrible for TNA.

Here is an update: www.diva-dirt.com/2010/01/22/awesome-kong-unhappy-in-tna-before-bubba-incident/Today’s edition of the Wrestling Globe Newsletter suggests that Awesome Kong has been unhappy in TNA for some time before the incident with Bubba the Love Sponge this past weekend. Mike Aldren reports: -------------------------- ~ Awesome Kong has requested her release following the events of this past week. She noted to friends that the altercation with Bubba the Love Sponge at Monday’s television taping was the straw that broke the camel’s back. She had been unhappy for some time. The company has not responded to her release request thus far and are hoping that she will change her mind. “Kong is really disappointed in the fact that this company that once had class has turned into a paranoid backstabbing contest because people in management are too worried about keeping their jobs to really voice their opinions or represent the talent appropriately,” said one source. “They sold all the talent that they were a team [before Hogan/Bischoff arrived]… but then moved forward without rewarding anyone, and benched half of the original roster on top of that.” Regarding the actual altercation, Kong admitted fault saying she had planned to give Bubba a piece of her mind due to his remarks on Haiti, but things quickly got out of hand. She cited lack of sleep, noting that she had spent her free time last weekend raising funds for the victims of the earthquake, and was also dealing with the loss of her mentor, wrestling promoter Ed Chuman. She said delirium took over and she ended up smacking Bubba instead of talking to him. One of Kong’s friends also noted to us that she is furious with Bubba for ripping her on Howard Stern, and for attempting to make an angle out of the situation on his own radio show. She is now back at home pondering her future. She was originally booked for the upcoming European tour but won’t be making those dates any more. ----------------------- It’s been well noted here at Diva Dirt some of the disparaging comments that have been made about Kong by Bubba the Love Sponge and most recently, Hulk Hogan on Bubba’s radio show. I can’t imagine wanting to work for a company where it’s allowed to speak about a fellow employee like that, let alone a member of management getting in on the act, perpetuating the drama instead of dealing with it in private like professionals. I can’t say I blame Kong for wanting out as TNA’s scenario is becoming the wrestling equivalent of the maligned NBC. Very public ’scandal’? Check. Top star wanting out? Check. All we need now is an awards show where TNA is the butt every joke ala the Golden Globes. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So I guess there is going to be no chance of her staying since she finally has a chance to leave because her contract is up. I would really like her to go to wwe and side with Mickie since McCool keeps calling her fat. McCool/Layla have Beth, Mickie/Maria should get Kong!

Work. Hogan has said in the past he is a big fan of Kongs, and has a major storyline planned for her, then all this happens and now he's bad mouthing Kong. If Hogan wanted her fired she would've been fired.

Her moveset would be so watered-down and I highly doubt she'd be okay with how soft she'd have to be on the majority of women there. Hell, I doubt they'd even let her hit the Powerbomb or Back Fist at all. They did the same thing with Beth Phoenix. She's merely a shell of what she once was before going to WWE.

She should have not been given the opportunity to give her notice. She should have been fired on the spot for decking Bubba. Bubba is an asset to TNA and Kong put a strain on his relationship with the company that he helps promote. . Kong is talented. Bubba is not. If I were Dixie, I'd tell Hulk to immediately end his relationship with Bubba.

Do you think she's really gone when she's one half of the Knockout Champions? You can ask for your release all you want doesn't mean you will get it, and if she doesn't we will really see how professional Kong is....if this isn't a work that is
