I personally am not Straight Edge. However, I have nothing against the lifestyle.

I don't drink, I don't smoke, and I don't do drugs, but I don't listen to the type of music they commonly listen to, so I wouldn't say I'm straight edge at all. again, it has NOTHING to do with the music... you could love country and be SE....

For sake, can we STOP all of the Straight Edge threads? Jesus Christ. We've had what, SIX different threads in the past week? Give it a rest. This.

Conway Twitty and Hank Williams were SO ing straight edge, they even started it. Hey, it makes as much sense as the majority of the other posts in these threads.

It's an respectable lifestyle to lead, but sometimes I just want a drink. Like right now, actually. Rum and OJ, here I come! And I have a cigar once in a blue moon.

Sometimes when I wake and bake, I listen to Fugazi's "In On The Kill Taker" just to be ironic. And because its a great album.
Or maybe I listen to The Jesus And Mary Chain's "Darklands" because I wholeheartedly believe even the Reid brothers used to toke up to that.
CM Punk is worthless in terms of a youth movement. These kids aren't old enough to be drinking, and a bowl is what they put their Trix cereal in for their breakfast. Enough with the straight edge threads.

I never smoked or drank or did drugs, but I never knew what straight edge was until someone asked me if that's what I was, and then I had to ask them to explain it. I just never felt the need, mostly because I was friends with a lot of people who smoked pot and thought they embarrassed themselves when they were high, and went to school with a whole lot of drunks. If you live in a small town, I guess that's what you do. I figured I did enough dumb stuff on pure air without adding to it. I did find it interesting when I found out that a guy named CM Punk's gimmick was that he was Straight Edge, but I try not to get good or bad habits from people on tv.

HA! I once did artwork ( flyer) for one of their shows down here a few years ago. Candace came up to me before they played and said she saw a copy taped to the door, and asked if I had another. From what I understand, she had it blown up to poster size and kept it. Best compliment my artwork ever got.

Ha, Casey Jones kicks ass, singalong hardcore is always great. I can't really comment on Slapshot. I've heard some of their stuff, but if I'm ever gonna turn on Boston hardcore, the "This Is Boston" comp is definitely it. Or Blood for Blood, but that's drinking music. Hmm, let's see, Youth of Today kicked ass, early 7 Seconds rule, but they're a bit soft on the message whereas people nowadays SHOVE IT DOWN OUR THROATS. Earth Crisis in particular, but I'll let it slide, they're a ing mean band. *I would also like to make mention, while I'm surrounded by fellow punk enthusiasts, how hilarious it is that the first D.C. hardcore band to break out was the Bad Brains, probably Minor Threat's biggest influence, who toked up nonstop. All the time. Still probably do.

The link I posted is direct to my (old) photobucket where I was shocked to still find it, lmao. It's all black/white flat poop (so it could be xeroxed 1,000's of times) - drawn with pencil, and colored with sharpie and an ink pen (for smaller details). EDIT: WFK beat me to it. - And glad to see he dug it too.
