Does she have a right to be upset? Yes, without a doubt. But, let's be realistic. If they (Palin and her family) wouldn't have flipped their lid, everyone would've forgot and moved on. I'm not saying she's not upset/hurt about it, but she sure did use to be become even more relevant than she has be. That's often the case when things like this happen. I love the Streisand effect, which is basically when people complain about things that would have remained obscure if they'd stayed silent. Obviously, since it's family guy, it's not the same thing. But it was till a brief joke that got a few chuckles but would have been quickly forgotten. Now it's a huge deal. Also, like I already said, the episode didn't make fun of the illness. Chris liked her despite the illness and only left her because it turned out that she was a bad person. It showed that just because they have special needs doesn't mean they can't be just like other people and that was a neat way to do things. I really enjoyed the episode, but the fit people are throwing is insane. Exactly, but I'm sure they would/will turn it around and say that Family Guy was stating that she was a "bad person" because of the illness. Honestly, I think Palin still would've flipped if they would've left out the "former gov. of Alaska" comment.

I didn't hear Chris Burke ("Corky" from Life Goes On) complain when they poked fun at him in an episode.
Wah, wah, wah.

Is this the same Sarah Palin that just defended Rush Limbaugh's use of the word "intellectually- disabled person?"
Yea, that's not hypocritical.

Boo hoo. It's a joke.
If they made a show about me that portrayed me in the same way, I'd laugh it off.

Making fun of the fact isn't going to make him more intellectually- disabled. Make the best(or money) out of a bad situation. WIN

Palin has down syndrome herself, she has no room to talk.

You know, this all comes down to the same question I've been asking for the last 2 years. Who the cares about what Sarah Palin thinks?

Seth MacFarlane has a right to show what he wants. Sarah Palin has a right to complain about something basically directed towards her. She didn't ask or demand for the show to be taken off the air. I think people complaining about her complaining is a bit much.

psshh, they've done a lot worse. Remember the Lou Gehrig's disease joke? I love the show, but that one was a bit much. Nothing is a bit much. NOTHING. We have people dying so we can say what we want and now everyone is in fits because Family Guy made fun of Palin's down-syndrome son. Sorry, I would tell Palin to suck it up, he'll face much worse in public schools then from a cartoon on tv. I don't care what you have, what race you are, anything, everything should be able to be made fun of. Hell my sister has the mentality of a 14 year old and you know what she laughed at it. From going to her Special Olympic games and such I find that they (mentally intellectually- disabled) kids/adults don't fret over being called names and whatnot. They just like to enjoy life. I don't actually care about Palin or that she is all pissed off. Just pointing out that the show has done far worse...

I don't actually care about Palin or that she is all pissed off. Just pointing out that the show has done far worse... Since Lou Gehrig's family didn't complain, Palin can't? That makes sense. I feel about this joke the same way I feel about any joke in this vein: jokes aimed at public figures are fine. Jokes aimed at their families who aren't directly in the public eye are stupid. Every single time. Jokes aside, this is more an indication of bad writers that have to rely on "controversial" jokes and episodes rather than just writing funny scripts.

Palin thought Rush Limbaughs comments saying "intellectually- disabled person" was sattire and she thinks the Family Guy episode is making fun of her kid? that's just ridiculous! just shows how narrow-minded Palin is. Family Guy is a cartoon that makes fun of everyone and everything just like south park, big deal.

See, I see the reason Palin is upset. However, the writers have done SO much worse to other celebrities/icons... and they haven't responded nearly as bad, as Palin is, here. Agreed 100%.

Look at how they make fun of Bill Clinton & George Bush on Family Guy. Compared to them, she's lucky.
I do see why she's mad, though.

Bristol Palin: "Particularly pathetic cartoon show" Yup, "pathetic". Hence the reason the show has set records, with the stuff they've done. - Triple S HAHA You're really reaching here. First, what records have the set? None. They were brought back from cancellation due to dvd sales. That's not a record. It's just the first time it's ever happened, that's all. Second, whatever you claim they have done that is so great, does that give them carte blanche to say whatever they want? I've been a fan of the show since Day 1, and I'm saying that Palin joke was going to far. It's not like they were making a point with it. It was pointless and unnecessary. The episode itself was stupid. Another reason why the ratings have been going down. So what about who else that they have made fun of over the years that didn't say anything? Some people don't want to get involved. Some people don't care enough that a cartoon made took a shot at them.
