So... I originally picked up the Ted Jr. Elite figure...not a bad figure...but I'm not an Elite fan and it figured out to be about 13 dollars cheaper to get the 2 pack Legacy instead of Elite DiBiase and Rhodes...I had the Dibiase figure opened for about a day and a half when I realized it was a better deal to just get the 2 pack. I take very good care of the figures and the boxes even, I sealed the figure back up, taped him back up and everything, if I return something I know isn't broken, I take very good care to make sure someone else would buy it...I did this about 3 weeks ago now...returned him to the store, and picked up the 2 pack, done deal...
I go back tonight and he's still there on the shelf, but the box is literally RIPPED open, and the shirt was stolen. I mean...really? Granted these figures are all over town but...that could have been some kid's birthday present...or at the very end of the spectrum a clearance item for someone to pick up for custom parts...you know that stuff makes me mad, why ruin something perfectly good by stealing part of it? Why steal it at all?...it just irritates me. If you have to STEAL a T-SHIRT from a 15 dollar action figure...I think it's time for you to get a job...no joke.
Idk, I suppose this is just a rant but this seems to be the place to do such a thing. On top of that, still on the hunt for Mickie James and waiting for the Survivor Series Kofi to pop up. Anyone seen that Survivor Series set yet?

Thats nothing new, theres been plenty of reports of that happening. But yeah it is a bit much to rip open a box just for a shirt.

I always hated seeing something stolen from a figure even if i didn't want it someone else might of and now it missing parts, sometimes I don't get people stealing accessories, i hope it's kids cause if it's adults thats really low stealing toys....

Real shame. You go to all that effort and some punk just goes ahead and steals it. That doesnt happen here much at all but i dont know how someone has the hide to steal stuff like that.
I found PPV2 this past week, they should be in the states shortly though.

That sucks, especially since you knew that it was the one you bought. People like that are scum.

I am seeing more rampantness of theft with mattel than I did with Jakks.

Most elites in my toy r us the corners where the shirt's are have rips so it looks like people tried to get them but it didn't work.

Kids can't get jobs. It was probably a child who was too young to get a job. The people who usually steal are kids of about 12-15 probably. This is before job years. If it was anyone older they probably would have just swiped the whole box or at least gotten the fig as well, I would think. It seems awfully short sighted to risk prosecution for a toy t shirt. Either way, I don't care about kids birthdays or the store. What angers me is that I would totally pick up that figure for like 30% off on clearance, but the greedy bastards are only going to take like a dollar off, so it will sit there all shoddily taped together with silver duct tape, rubber bands, and staples for a year and a half before they just send it away. Hell, I saw an Adrenaline pack several years ago where one of the figures was missing (I think it was Kane) and they still only took off 3 dollars. What a waste. Half off, at least.

it makes me just as ill that you think it's okay to just open up a figure, and decide "eh, nevermind" and return it like new.

Could you imagine getting caught for shoplifting because you wanted a t-shirt for your wrestling figure?

You guys are making a big deal about this. If your not going to buy it, it doesn't matter to you. I think stealing is wrong in general.

You'd get banned from the store.
I don't understand because I don't see elite shirts and such for sale on eBay, so I guess they wanted to put it on their figures? Or are they just vandalizing?

it makes me just as ill that you think it's okay to just open up a figure, and decide "eh, nevermind" and return it like new. Yeah because returning an item for someone else who will enjoy it is equally as offensive as stealing...you're right. I would understand your viewpoint completely had I been like "So I took the figure out and let my dog chew on it a few hours to see if he liked the taste...he didn't...so I returned it." Hell, I've been through the Elite Edge, the Wrestlemania Edge to finally get the Edge/Big Show 2 pack. Why? 1. Because the coat on Edge is hard as hell to take off and 2. I couldn't find Big Show anywhere around here. So what's the better deal? There's nothing wrong with returning something if you didn't mess it up and it means you can get a better deal. Stealing is wrong no matter what, I agree with that completely. I just think the overall thing is ridiculous, just take the whole thing. Idk why, but something about that at the end of the day would have still been wrong, but at least would have made more sense.

What's a real shame is when you see a different figure in the package that has been returned. Can't believe a Toy's r us clerk didn't notice the difference between ra Chavo in a Jack Swagger package! That's a shame.I commend you the way you handled that Dibiase before returning it. That Kofi is a great fig can't wait either.

If someone goes to a shop to buy a fig, they want a fresh one, not one which has had some kids sweaty hands all over it. Justify it all you like, its wrong.

Maybe if you did a better job taping it up, the shirt wouldn't have been stolen?

Well again, 2 things...1. I'm not a kid, I'm 21 2. I don't buy these things to play with them so my "sweaty hands" weren't all over it. I literally took him out of the box, put him on his stand and left him there for a while. I open each box carefully and even keep the plastic cutout that the shirt came in just in case. It was returned in the same manner in which I bought it. If I return something again that ISN'T BROKEN, I take care to be sure I would buy it again if it were just sitting there...
And I put a great deal of time in taping it up when I put it back in the box. I tape along where it was originally taped and everything because truthfully if the box looks like it's been opened, someone probably wont buy it, so why would I return it at the store's expense? I WANT them to make money off of it...
