Please use Tell Me a Lie for the tribute song WWE.

I was really sombre and sad as it didn't quite sink in until he got an ovation at the end, what an emotional match.

If that REALLY was his last match, thank you very much Shawn. But I have a feeling he'll return in a few months. Which I would LOVE. He probably will just not wrestle as much.

Sad to see him go really. Hell and taker is older than him but if he wants to hang it up, then so be it. Sad ending to an already depressing Mania. But at least he will be back at Summer Slam.

Is he really retiring then? Or is this just so he can take 6 months off or so?

It's really hard to say goodbye to someone you have known and looked up to your whole life. I havent cried since Benoit died but I sure did tonight. I know he will be back on WWE TV someday, but if that was really his last match then FML. I can honestly say Im not gonna watch wrestling as much as I used to now.

I'm not sold on WMXXVI being Shawn's final match by any means, but it was another excellent effort and an added chapter to the greatest comeback story in the history of the wrestling business.
However, I couldn't think of a better way to go out than he did tonight. He's got his health and his family, so what more could he ask for at this point in his career? If he does decide to have a return match at SummerSlam or WrestleMania XXVII, I just hope it doesn't lead to him being labeled the Ric Flair of his generation.
I would think he would know better when to call it a day, especially since he isn't having any financial troubles.

I agree with this, I grew up with hbk and thinking wrestling was real as a kid. I quit watching wrestling for years after wm 14 and I will probably fade away again.

I'm bummed as a fan, but as a person I'm happy for Shawn and I'm glad that he got to go out on his own terms. Not very many people have that opportunity. Injury or being fired force too many wrestlers out of the business before they are ready.
I'll miss him. Clearly, he's still got it. He could keep putting on great matches for as long as he wanted and stayed healthy.
I appreciate everything he's done to entertain the fans, and I hope he is happy in whatever he does in this new chapter in his life.

I hope he is finished after this incredible chapter to the career story of HBK. Tonight tugged at the emotional strings of myself and many fans I am sure. In my opinion he is the greatest sports entertainer ever. Period. Hands down.

i forgot to mention how happy I'm for him, after all the crazy stunts hes pulled in the last few years and not mention that he wrestles better than anyone on the roster. Hes got his family and hes healthy after all hes been through. Thank you HBK.

I don't think he's truly done.
Just like his 1998-2002 retirement, I believe he'll leave for a few years, maybe come back as a GM/Commissioner, and eventually after a couple more years, return to the ring.

I am so sad. I'm not gonna lie but when he lost, my entire face was covered in tears and I was going insane, mumbling to myself things such as, "Thank You Shawn", "I love you Shawn", " you Undertaker, so suck a d*ck". Seriously, guys.....I'm a huge HBK fan and all....but if I ever hear anyone on this board making fun of "marks" again...... *cough* hypocrites *cough*

maybe come back as a GM/Commissioner In my dream world, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels would be the two GM's of the shows. But then again my dream world would also try and fit Mick Foley in somewhere as Commissioner.

But...but how will Shawn support his family now? JBL isn't there to be his financial advisor! And he has absolutely no life savings...oh dear lord, this economy has hit the true patriots the hardest.
Ehhh, seriously speaking- I really didn't even expect Shawn to come back to the capacity he did after 2002, with the gigantic lapse in time he stayed away from the ring. It was a miracle he could even take a bump again, nevertheless put on as many classics as he has the last 8 years or so. I absolutely love the man for all he's done, the many memorable moments, how many young guys he's helped develop, and just how much of his heart he's poured into this business. A true class act, and I applaud him for all the amazing shows the Showstopper has given us.
