He took his own life instead of facing his problems. No remorse [/Benoitthreads] Not sure if you're being serious, but if you are I can't fathom someone not seeing the colossal difference between ending your own life due to depression and killing 2 innocent people and then ending your own life.

Its more of a sarcastic seriousness. Obviously I can see and know the difference but multiple times in the numerous locked threads of Mentioned wrestler people have typed "He took the cowards way out by killing himself" I could care less either way. Just hate when people are hypocrites.

I think if Benoit didn't kill his wife and kid there would be very little backlash on the suicide and his name may well still be around.

He had a WWE run, it just wasn't very good. It started off great. He got regular mic time and his 'who better' schtic was over, he was the WCW US and WWF Tag Team champ, and he was the goddamn Alliance MVP. Then he got injured a little before Survivor Series and didn't resurface until 03 when he sang Boy George for Taker and Taker beat him up. Then he jobbed on Velocity for a few months and was gone. I remember all this because I was a huge Kanyon mark and I'm terribly disapointed he took his own life. It's obvious he had some problems and it's sad that nobody was able to prevent this from happening. Guy was a great talent. I remember it as well. But considering he was in WWE from June 2001 until February 2004, only 4 months of that was good. The rest he spent injured or jobbing on Velocity. So all in all, it wasn't a very good run.

R.I.P I remember he was the alliance MVP in 2001.
I dont think we should be judging him its a different situation to Benoit because he didnt murder anyone. Kanyon had bi-polar disorder and depression is an illness just like anything else.

Had Benoit just killed himself, he'd probably still be revered as a great man who just had inner demons. But when you murder an innocent child as well as your wife, it's an entirely different situation.

Damn....I was really hoping this news was false, but unfortunately it's true. He was truly an amazing wrestler and had a ton of talent. I believe he was one of the wrestlers that was featured on the Deathgrip Wrestling Documentary. Even he couldn't escape it...
Such a terrible, tragic situation. He will be greatly missed....
R.I.P. Chris Kanyon

This is sad to say, but I could see WBC picketing his funeral.

Sad to hear it. Breaking news reporter Hollywood Asia.
Anyhow, to me, the Positively Kanyon stuff in WCW with him going around giving Kanyon Cutters to everyone might be some of the funniest wrestling I have ever seen.

I'm really just disheartened over the entire thing.
Its like I'm re-finding my inner Kanyon mark. Suicide is just such a final, awful way to go. Goddamn, just rest in peace, Kanyon.

After the night I had last night, I woke back up to this... I feel like **** now. In WCW he was undeniably one of my favorite midcard guys, as Mortis and just himself. Every match you could expect to see him bust out a move you'd probably NEVER seen, or at least a variation on something you've never seen. I can't believe he's gone, rest in peace Kanyon.

R.I.P. Kanyon. The Flatliner will always be one of the coolest wrestling finishers to me. Regardless of how the man passed on, he should be remembered. He was awesome in WCW.

I guess you could say. . . he Flatlined.
In all seriousness it's sad to see another passing. Kanyon was utterly underutilized in WWE, and was absolutely hilarious as Positively Kanyon.

Now the legion of Kanyon fans unite together just like all the Test, Umaga, etc fans. Its sad to hear when stuff like this happens, but its part of life, which sucks.
