- Mickie James probably went off to decide to go with her country music career full time.
- Katie Lea Burchill, I feel that they could have done something with. She had a gothic look to her and seemed to be going about that way, almost like Ariel only without the massive fake breasts. She could have been WWE's Daffney, and really would have differentiated from the happy colorful divas. Then again, why are WWE releasing her now when Paul Burchill went nigh on two months ago?
- Shelton Benjamin most likely got talked into requesting a release from Charlie 'I'm an internet bitch, love me!' Haas, and they'll go and surf the independent scenes like the JD and Turk combination they are. Them in ROH would be great; in TNA...let's not go there.
- Kung Fu Naki is the biggest shocker, to be honest. Not been on television since last year, can't of seen him lasting too longer. Steve Austin, his buddy isn't around much anymore too, and so WWE rightfully released him.
- Slam Master J wasn't as surprising, but Jimmy Wang Yang wasn't either. They did just eliminate a team however, which further deteriorates the dead tag team division.
- I can see either Caylen Croft or Trent Barreta, the Bella Twins, Hornswoggle, Zack Ryder, or Rosa Mendes, Primo, Mike Knox and Ezekiel Jackson on the chopping block. Also, now Fu Naki and Val Venis are gone, this leaves William Regal...

I know its Spring Cleaning and all, and I understand the releases. But Mickie and Shelton? What the ? Shelton had so much potential. They choose someone like Jack Thwagger who can only do pushups and a powerbomb over a guy who can entertain so well in matches such as Ladder, TLC and MiTB? And Mickie was the first and only diva I ever liked. .

Shelton & Mickie are a bit of a surprise since thought WWE would rather keep them then let them go to TNA (if they want them). Katie i didn't see lasting long after Paul was released, Others aren't a surprise.

I guess nobody is mourning Funaki's departure. Sure, he doesn't done anything in a long time, but crap he was in KAI-EN- ING-TAI! This is all terrible news. I could name ten other WWE performers who should've been released.

The only one that surprises me is Mickie, I guess WWE doesn't like their wrestlers having side projects. I love Shelton, but his release isn't shocking they have misused him for years and now they pulled the plug on him, stupid move. I really hope Shelton tries TNA so I can still see him in action.

If charlie haas had anything to do with getting shelton out of the wwe ima be in pissed i loved his work. Mickie james wrestled my favorite divas match ever with trish at wrestlemania they shoulda kept katie lee she was hot and i think she might be able to wrestle

I heard some rumors back in February that Mickie might focus on her singing career, so I'm not as surprised about her release. Shelton, I am more surprised. He could hae gotten a decent push. The rest isn't that surprising as they didn't do much anyway.

WTF WWE! Why the hell would you let go of Shelton! WWE had a chance to do good things with him after his win over HHH and his awesome IC title reigns. Oh well, hope he goes to TNA where they'll treat him right... hopefully.

Holy ****. I am shocked.
I expected Mickie to be leaving soon, but wow...it's still surprising. Shelton is way out of nowhere. Did he and Mickie actually get released or were they just let go because WWE knew something we didn't? Maybe Shelton was known to not be re-signing, and they just didn't want to deal with Mickie's country career?
Shelton will go down as one of the biggest missed opportunities in recent history. Maybe he didn't have the best mic work (far from horrible however) but he had way more to offer than what they dealt him with. WWE's booking is astronomically detrimental to a lot of these mid-card guys they don't feel like pushing. There's been mid-card guys in recent memory that could've been something special if they would stop focusing on this Hollywood writing B.S. and prioritize wrestling more. Why couldn't Charlie or Shelton have individual pushes based on the fact that they're really good wrestlers? Why is being exceptional at what you do not enough to get over? Shelton finally started getting somewhere in ECW before it went under, and then BAM...nothing. Charlie never got a damn opportunity in recent years to get the crowd behind him. You can't job a guy out and put him on TV once every few months (with an altered look each time, a sign Charlie really wanted to get over) and expect the arena/casual fans to even notice him. What happened to WGTT is a huge shame. I really thought Shelton was on his way up again, too.

I have no ing clue why they canned Mickie and Shelton! WTF are they thinking. Mickie, Katie, and Shelton will do very well in TNA. For once I am going to be a hardcore fan of the KO division if they sign Mickie and Katie. you WWE!

Wasn't Funaki friends with Shawn Michaels? I guess that would explain it.

Normally I don't bash WWE, but what the is that about? I don't care what the reasoning is... They never should have released Shelton. I used to like Haas, but I have a feeling he has something to do with this. I swear sometimes I don't get this company or their thought process. I have been cheering for Shelton for years. And I finally got the perfect Shelton figure and for what? Thanks WWE, for the waste of my time & money.

I am. i've been a big fan of his since he arrived in the WWF back in may of 1998 as part of the group Kai En Tai. well if anything i'm glad he at least lasted 12 years there.

Mickie is probably the best Diva since Trish Stratus, very stupid to let her go.
As for Shelton Benjamin, he's still a class above most of the other guys they have. Just because he's never really had any decent Character or Gimmick push he's still worth having. I can only assume he wouldn't accept what the WWE were offering, and TNA are offering more.

Looks like Team Angle Part 2 coming up in TNA soon. That would be cool.
