That's a heck of a set to stumble upon. I like them for what they are. Did you get the impression that the seller was the one who customized them? Were there any other BCA customs for sale? Thanks for sharing the pics. I did for sure. I didn't see any other BCA customs but they did have a bin with Mattel customs and a Daniel Bryan with a really bad sculpted beard and Hair. That being said, in comparison these are pretty good in comparison.

All of this talk about Elite 52 D'Lo Brown and Ken Shamrock brings to mind their respective BCA figures from 1997-1999. D'Lo had four overall and "The World's Most Dangerous Man" had 14 in that span of time. Here is a recap with MOC images (and a couple loose group shots) of all their Jakks BCA figures. Click the spoiler tag for more.

It always bothered me that they used Vader's body mold for the later D'Lo figures, ridiculously too big

So today at the flea market I saw 2 MOC bca figures. Road Dogg & I believe Al Snow. Can't remember the name of the series, sorry. Anyways these 2 figs included "limited edition" silver bases as opposed to the regular black bases. Anybody know how limited these figures are? Are they worth anything or wanted? For the record they wanted $5 for each one

For the record they wanted $5 for each one The name of the series is Signature Series 5. Big Boss Man, Billy Gunn, Kane and Stone Cold Steve Austin are also included in that set. Road Dogg and Al Snow are not worth more than $3-4 each mint on card. Snow, in particular, is a favorite of mine though due to its unique knuckle tats and one-off J.O.B. Squad attire. The silver bases were exclusive to that series and are far less common than the regular black stands, but that still doesn't make them much of a collector's item.

It always bothered me that they used Vader's body mold for the later D'Lo figures, ridiculously too big The worst offenses to me are the lazy ones. Repainting a Vader body and calling it a new D'Lo Brown is inexcusable. I could forgive a lot about that figure if Jakks had simply swapped out the arms with Savio Vega arms, for instance. It would still be a horribly bloated version of D'Lo Brown, except one without the unnecessary elbow pads and MMA gloves. Something tells me that a light bulb went off for the geniuses at Jakks when this match aired on RAW in July 1998:

I've read this forum for awhile so I decided to post here for the first time with some adventures I just had with my BCA line. I started collecting (well really, playing. Let's be honest) them when they first came out and have continued since thanks to eBay. With the recent release of retro Hasbro's by Mattel, it got me back into the BCA line as I view those action figures as the best of all time. I saw an authentic scale ring and blue cage set on Ringside Collectibles for $44 the other day and thought that would be a great ring for the BCA's. I was right. It is a perfect sized ring for the figures. With that I decided to give the new WWE Mattel figure line a chance to create some dream matches I've wanted to see for years. What I learned early on is the basic series Mattel figures are junk. The Elite's are much nicer, but man, it still doesn't come close to Jakks BCA's. The Elite Mattel's may have 45,570 points of articulation but they are so difficult to move and stay in place you end up playing with them like they are straight boards because they are so hard to move around. Mattels, to me, are made much more for display then action. The other INFURIATING thing about these figures is they all say 6" figures, but I have yet to find one that is under 7". Daniel Bryan is taller than my Undertaker BCA. Just wrong. I hate they advertise them as 6 inches when they are not. WWE/Jakks lost me when they went over 6". Anyways, I thought I'd post some pictures here of my recent collection in the WWE Authentic Scale Ring (no where near all of them as most of my figures are still in the attic at my parents house). I love looking for custom BCA's too so if anyone makes them or knows where to get them, shoot me a link. Looking for a Hulk Hogan BCA BADLY!

PS, I have a WCW Chris Jericho in there. It is 6" and perfect size to play with any BCA.

Thanks for posting. I have recently moved house so gonna unbox all of the BCAs that I've picked up over the past couple of years and display loose. I will post some pics once they are up.

I love looking for custom BCA's too so if anyone makes them or knows where to get them, shoot me a link. Looking for a Hulk Hogan BCA BADLY! Welcome to the forum. You're right, BCA figures are some of the most fun to play with. Even better is the assortment of larger rings (and championship figure belts) that we have access to now, but I wouldn't say 20-year-old figures are perfectly suited to this era. There is plenty of space for them in a WCT ring, that's for sure. I would imagine if I was a kid today and all I had were these figures to play with and one of the scale rings to play with them in, I would manage just fine lol. I used to have countless hours of fun with the Monster Ring when scale and accuracy were the furthest things from my mind in the late 90's/early 2000's, but I think that all changed after the Real Scale Ring was introduced in 2005. The Ringside set is a great deal for all that's included. So far, I think you've put together a nice collection of figures spanning several decades. Keep it up! If you're looking for a Hogan that is close to BCA scale, I would recommend the newer BCA Backlash Series 2 figure.

The fact that Mattels are in scale with each other shouldnt have anything to do with BCA scale. BCAs dont really have scale. Road Dogg is as big or bigger than Taker. Mattels have a more consistent scale with guys like Mysterio and Bryan being shorter than HHHs and Batistas, and guys like Taker and Khali are bigger. BCAs are great to bang around and play rough with, but personally nothing comes close to Mattel Elites and that wouldve been a dream line as a kid that took pics and made stop motion of much more limited BCA and TTLs. Toybiz WCW was close, but not perfect.

Idk about you guys, but it drove me nuts that they didnt have elbow or knee hinges. Not being able to properly sit or headlock was a pain. I was a sucker for accuracy because I remember being very excited to get the first Stone Cold, Jericho, HHH, and Road Doggs with the r3 real scan tech. Heads up until that point were pretty bad or generic. I cant help think of that Edge sculpt...who is that?

Toybiz WCW was close, but not perfect. That goes without saying. If you're looking for accurate scale with these figures, you're going to set yourself up for a major disappointment. Toybiz WCW was a superior product at the time, just as Mattel currently blows everything else WWE-related out of the water. In truth, BCA figures aren't even all that durable (they are certainly no LJNs). But they do represent a special time in WWE's history for those of us who were pre-teens and appreciative of any added articulation after years of Hasbros, Bend-Ems and OSFTM WCW figures. That's not to say the flaws went unnoticed; it's just they weren't a big concern of mine since I was happy to have any new figures at all. Ringside Collection Series 2 Jim Ross had knee hinges, so at least we know that Jakks was capable of it back then. I don't know if it would have made a drastically different impression on me as a kid, but like you said it would have made certain moves a lot less difficult to perform with our figures. Debating whether or not BCA head sculpts were at any time better than Real Scan technology is an impossible argument, but I do think some of that can be blamed on the 2-up process and turnover of master sculptors. Had Terry Lattimer stayed on for every series after the first three and had his original work not been tinkered with, I think we would have seen significantly better likenesses across the board.

Been fixing up some of my old custom BCA figures. Thought id take some better photos of my WCW guys: Jericho, Flair & Sting Hogan, DDP & Booker T and today I ficed up my Randy Orton with a Mattel head and I personally love it! Really jealous of that Nash & Hall, always wanted to do updated versions but still use the older figures.

The BCA Warrior is the reason I started buying every Warrior I could find. He showed up in March and was out if the company by July. He was hard to find in my area but I was lucky to find him. So later on when Warrior was made in the Classic Superstars line, I bought all of them. I never knew if i would ever see them again. Here we are today and I still buy every Mattel Warrior, thanks to the Jakks BCA Warrior from series 2. That was also the last series of wrestling figures that bought the entire series. All six were great.
Also I never could find that Jakks microphone that was shown on the back of the cards. Man what I would give for that.

I recently started collecting the BCA Superstar Series Figures. Has anyone ever accidentally bought figures that aren't a part of the Superstars Series line, but look like they are? Before finding the BCA checklist on here, I bought this Owen Hart that makes it look like he's from Series 3: I love this series, but man --- Jakks really overdid it with all of these random duplicates. I think that's why most collectors stay away from BCA --- it's overwhelming how many figures there are.
