I think he saw your post because it’s now listed for $1,399.99 or best offer lol. Joke's on him - there's another listed with an opening bid of ~$50. I'm new to the eBay game, but one thing I've learned is that a lot of listers in the BCA market drastically overestimate the value of some of these things. I'm something of a "Best Offer" troll, so I've had the chance to see how hardline some of these guys are in their pricing structure. I'm after my "holy trinity" of guys I never saw in the wild growing up right now, but I'm also a complete cheapskate, so I'm not entirely willing to budge on my self imposed budget per figure. I did, however, lock down the first of the three this past weekend: carded Blue Blazer for $14 shipped. I don't even know what I'm going to ultimately do with him (open and display, hang and display, etc). I wasn't expecting a ~20 year hunt for this figure to end so suddenly and favorably for me. Good on you for sticking to your guns. The significance of Blue Blazer is more appealing to me than the figure itself, but I would recommend everyone get one if they can on the cheap. That is a very fair price. Congrats on a successful hunt.

Question...how much would y’all spend on a loose BCA? I can’t think of any that are heavily sought after besides Blue Blazer or maybe the Survivor Series Warrior. I’m just asking because I’m going flea marketing and I’ll like to buy some loose BCAs. I sold most of mine awhile ago when I needed money.
To me, and I may be being cheap, I don’t want to spend over $2 if I’m buying in a large lot. That’s why I don’t buy off the internet. The price then shipping for loose BCAs aren’t worth it to me. I’d be willing to pay $45-$50 for a loose lot of 20. But other than that they aren’t worth a huge bunch imo.

We need to draw up a petition for Mattel to bring back BCA as a KB Toys exclusive, this decision will bring me back to collecting figures as I completely quit collecting early this year....I made an account again just to post this. Just my opinion but I wouldn't be surprised if WWE is back with Jakks when Mattel deal is up. Anyone else think its kinda strange Jakks made that AJ Styles wrestling buddy, like how did that happen? why wouldn't Mattel

That is a very fair price. Congrats on a successful hunt. That's the crux of it for me. I was a teenager at the heart of the Attitude Era, and a big Owen fan to boot, and it's one of those things I'd have bought anyway, assuming I could have ever found it in the wild. I think, ultimately, whether or not I open it will depend upon the displayability of the package itself in person. Best case, I think it'd look really sharp on my wall. Question...how much would y’all spend on a loose BCA? I can’t think of any that are heavily sought after besides Blue Blazer or maybe the Survivor Series Warrior. I’d be willing to pay $45-$50 for a loose lot of 20. But other than that they aren’t worth a huge bunch imo. It depends on the figure. Even with the commonality of most BCAs, there some that carry a personal value to me than others. I'd be willing to up my price a bit more for, say, the 2 Tuff series Jackal figure than I would maybe a run of the mill Austin figure, but you could chalk that up to my personal stance as a fan of the Jackal/Cyrus. I'd say for most easily got figures, a max price loose in decent condition probably shouldn't stray much higher than $5.00, and that's being relatively generous and taking into consideration the run of figures that fall outside the realm of Austin/Rock/HHH etc. that can be got a dime a dozen. Otherwise? $2.00 is a perfectly reasonable place to start.

@chicago do you know what would be cool? If series one from 1996 was completely redone and revamped 2018 versions as the first new BCA series. Yeah, ellisd shared pics of his collection a while back with this exact concept in mind: Mattel's Elite version of Superstars Series 1. Razor Ramon - Defining Moments Diesel - Hall of Fame Series 4 (maybe swap the head with Elite Series 16) Goldust - Elite Series 47.5 Undertaker - Elite Lost Legends (or Elite Series 23) Shawn Michaels - TRU Network Spotlight Elite Bret Hart - WrestleMania XXX Elite yeah I know about that idea, what I meant to say was all the originals from series one revamped again in bca form but more modern looking.

Assuming they don't renew. Mattel figures look great but they don't have the playability or the roster depth of Jakks. Though they did get lazy in their last couple years, they put out such a variety of wrestlers, old and new.

Now that would be unexpected. I don't want to wish a changing of the guard on either Mattel or Jakks; whatever will be, will be. I didn't think that I would ever get into the new figures as I once had before and during the Jakks years, but then Mattel roped me in these past two-and-a-half years with their superior Elite figures and belts. Going back from them now almost seems out of the question. Sometimes I wish collecting was as fun for me as it used to be when I was younger, and I'm not just talking the kid years. I find myself getting more and more nostalgic for the RA figures I collected as a teen/young adult in the mid-2000's. I don't know why these things happen, but I'm glad that the secondary market has so much to offer when it comes to the many great Jakks lines, including BCA. For me, it's been great balancing new and old figure pickups. I can't think of a better feeling than to receive a new Elite figure in the mail alongside an RA Treacherous Trios 3-Pack or BCA Honky Tonk Man.

An eBay seller by the name of aclm uploaded five images to a listing of a Sears Holiday Wish Book from 1998 a couple months ago. This was the final image of the five. Never tell me the odds. Edit: Now I can't decide if I'd rather have Stunt Track Driver or the Monster Ring gift set for $29.99. My 10-year-old self could not deal with such a dilemma.

I loved the monster ring but it was far too big for the BCA's haha It really was - the immeasurably steep, slippery downside of cost saving measures. I sat and watched the LEGO episode of The Toys That Made Us last night, and while they humorously harped on the religious-like passion the company had for "the system", something like this shows just how important such a systemic adherence to the basic structure of a line can be. The "Sling 'em-Fling 'em" ring for the LJN line that preceded the BCAs by ten years was great in its original inception, but to try and remarket it (twice!) for a separate, massively smaller scale line was just head-scratchingly vapid. That said, I miss mine a little bit every day.

I've got a boxed monster ring, the first of the Jakks era, with the white base and red, white and blue ropes. Pleased when I found that!

Two down, one to go.
I mentioned a few posts back how I'm chasing down the "holy trinity" of guys I never found in the wild growing up. Last month I locked down one, picking up a carded Blue Blazer for $14 shipped. This week, the postman delivered my carded series 1 Diesel, $13.50 shipped. That just leaves Razor (and maybe one of the Yokozunas, but those are less pressing).
Thing about Diesel that I never noticed - I figured he'd just be a repaint of the Bret Hart mold from the same series, but his torso and his legs are unique to him. That's pretty cool. He's staying on card, though. He's got the old series 1-series 2 loose leg syndrome, and the package is in surprising condition for being 20+ years old.

I'm doing the same thing I just got the Razor diesel two pack for under 40 bucks shipped. I remember taking my BCAs to school for show and tell and some kids stealing my Razor it was heartbreaking getting home and not being able to find him.

That Vader was something else. I didn't appreciate it at the time, but the proportions were always a bit of a sticking point for the BCA line, weren't they? I feel like Vader's top half was pretty spot on, but he did come off looking like he skipped a few weeks' worth of leg day, in retrospect. Pair that with oddly sized figures throughout (bulking season Edge, 1997 Mankind in 2018 Mick Foley's body, etc) and you really had quite the exaggerated line going on.
Nevertheless, I'd love to sit down and pick the brain of whoever it was over at Jakks Pacific that ultimately wound up responsible for sitting down, looking at the molds they had in place and saying "you know, Vader would work rather nicely with a newly minted D'Lo Brown head up top!"

how does Vader's head look on Dr. Death's torso? I always thought the Vader body was way too small I works quite well. This is a custom I plan on doing fairly soon.
