RIP Mike "bastion Booger" Shaw. One of my favorites as a kid. The Booger man always entertained me. Sad day.

i was so sad to read this about an hour ago. i loved the bastion booger character as a kid even though i wanted to vomit when he was on camera (i guess he did a really good job of playing this character). from what i heard he was a super sweet guy too. one of the saddest stories ive ever heard was pat patterson explaining bastion booger being fired years ago. he said that bastion hadnt been used much lately so he told pat he was going to go ask vince y he hadnt been used much. pat told him it wasnt a good idea and when he came out of vince's office pat asked him how it went. he told pat something like "ive just been fired". i heard the story a few years ago so some of the details may be alittle off but that made me feel so bad for him.

Aw, man. That's terrible to hear. One of my best childhood wrestling memories was watching my Survivor Series 93 VHS over and over again....and I always loved the segment with him and the Headshrinkers eating turkey backstage. R.I.P. Mike 'Bastion Booger' Shaw

Before Norman, Friar, and Booger, he was known up here in Canada as Makhan Singh, and had quite an entertaining feud with Owen Hart in Stampede Wrestling. R.I.P.

Geez, ANOTHER young death in wrestling....Wow...It never ends...I mean, 53 years old is still relatively young. It almost seems that if a wrestler can reach 50 years old, they don't live much longer than that. Wrestlers are extremely LUCKY to reach 50 years old and NOT alot of them do. It was either in the Lance Cade or Luna Vachon pass away thread, that I very easily named off about 40 wrestlers that died under 50 years old. Mike Shaw reached 53 and then passed away...53 isn't old at all. This trend will keep happening over and over. You do NOT live long when you have a life in wrestling. The stats clearly prove that beyond any shadow of a doubt. There are FAR more young deaths in wrestling than there are old ones. No question about it. Just more sad news in wrestling...It'll never end... R.I.P. Mike Shaw Yeah but to be fair he weighed like, 400lbs.

However in the case of Mike Shaw did it say what he passed from? I mean he was a heavy guy so health status might be more to blame than wrestling.

I preferred Norman the Lunatic over Bastion, but it's a shame to hear he passed.

However in the case of Mike Shaw did it say what he passed from? I mean he was a heavy guy so health status might be more to blame than wrestling. It's being reported that he died from a heart attack, which is what most young wrestlers die of. They always die with problems with their heart. It's like the constant slams they take shock their hearts and over time, they just give out. Their hearts just can't take it. It's really sad. I mean, Lance Cade dies of heart failure at 29...Come on man...What the hell... If there is one profession I would NOT want to be a part of, it's wrestling because I know for a fact you do not live long. Sure, the money may be great, but what is that going to mean when you are dead?? Can't help you much then... Far too many of the wrestlers I grew up watching are dying WAY too young and it just keeps happening over and over again...It's heartbreaking to be an old-school fan because a good percentage of the guys I grew up watching are gone....It's very sad...

Being obese is a risk factor for health problems and so is having any type of job/hobby where the body takes regular punishment. Then again, sometimes healthy, young people die natural deaths too. Life is ironic that way.
