The game hasn't even come out yet and they're already bragging about how it is the "Undisputed killer". I cannot say enough times that the game is going to be terrible. From the demo alone, you can tell that they truly have no idea what really goes on in the sport. What the hell is up with Lashley's score? He is overrated as . Like it makes any sense to have a grappling system that involves just pressing one button and having the striking system way more complicated than it needs to be. While I admit that it is a good thing to get these fighters exposed to the "ufc fans", EA is doing a terrible job at doing so with this game. I have a feeling it'll be up there with Superman when it comes to one of the worst games that EA has made. This demo was absolutely Awful. seriously, this game was really bad. The ONLY thing I like better, is the submission system, IMO it's not perfect, but light years better then the UFC's (read I can actually submit someone.) Beyond that, why when I move does it feel like my guy is skating on ice? Why do the animations look horrible? Why does the ground game lack complete depth? UFC 2010 was really dissapointing, but compared to this it looks like the best sports game ever made. I ended fights with the cpu on legend diffculty in less than 30 secounds. I see a ton of screaming players online with this game. Alot of punches didnt even touch the guy, but it still registered hits. You get the feeling that they focused alot on animations than the actual fighting. The anolog controls were horrible

Spot on dude. If the demo is any indication of what the game is to fully behold, then I'm just gonna save my money for the other awesome October titles coming out.
There's no depth anywhere. The pull the wool over your eyes with the flashy animations, but they're all triggered by pressing one button. They pretty much dumbed the gameplay down to arcade level.

As much as I personally enjoy UFC 2010 on a daily basis (which has kind of slowed down thanks to Football season) I did at least try to give this a chance, since I enjoy the Fight Night series. However, I just couldn't get into this. Maybe I'm just too used to UFC...

It's such a shame that it's dreadful, because it was one of my most anticipated games of the year.

Bobby Lashley is the Brock Lesnar of this game.

I just got done with the demo. I did two matches, and it really didn't pull me in like UFC did.
With UFC, I played the demo for hours and hours trying to pull of some different moves whenever I could. With this one, it was hard to care. There was no commentary, the animation was strange, the hits didn't feel effective at all, there were also A LOT of jerky animations.
It's sorta sad, I was expecting a lot more out of it.

We all agree Undisputed 2010 had its flaws, but we seem to have taken how good it actually was compared to all the other ****y MMA games for granted. UFC 2009 was great...2010 not so much. I think most sports games, MMA included, need more than a year between development cycles to make any sort of significant improvement.
As for EA MMA...they just missed it, completely. Kinda sad because they've been working on it for a while but at this point they already need to scrap everything and go back to the drawing board.

It was said in the most recent issue of Game Informer that THQ is looking at 15, 18, or even 21 months in between releases for UFC. They, naturally, blame it on "less-than stellar" sales figures.

Honestly, the main thing I can't understand is why THQ can't just send out a fix for the Submissions. All they have to do is turn off the "Charging" feature. That's it. That is the only reason people are getting tapped out by the computer so quickly, and why people get tapped out so quickly online. If that little feature was deactivated, and everyone had to either complete a submission or defend a submission by spinning the stick, there would be no submission problem.
They can blame their development time on the less than steller figures all they want, but if they had even so much as released a real tutorial for the charging mode in submissions, I could almost guarentee that the sales figures would have been better.

I was right, I loved this game and will defiantly be buying this when it comes out. I seriously don't get the hate on this game, way better than both the UFC games IMO, only bad thing is no Shogun but I at least get Ninja so that sorta makes up for it. So far my only complaints are the spamming of Takedowns and Clinching other that that its great but they also through in a way to counter act those, Submissions are a lot better than UFC and Clinching is a lot better as well, I personally like it with the button pushing instead of the analog sticks, in a way this game is near perfect for me. I even like the sounds better than UFC.

According to EA MMA forums the demo is apparently a build from July, so they've already been making months worth of changes.

I find myself enjoying the demo more now that I've gotten all the controls down and have been experimenting just for the hell of it.
Has anyone else noticed that the "Fighter's Crucifix" is in the game? YouTube it to see what I mean. It's definitely in there, I've had it happen to me several times when I KO'd Overeem with Overeem.
Speaking of KO's, they're possible if you keep not going for a finish when you daze your opponent. By the fourth time at the maximum, he won't be dazed, he'll get straight KO'd. I've also found out that it's not possible to KO someone who's clinched against the cage, you can only rock them.
I'm honestly leaning towards getting this game now that I've given it more than just a passing chance.

You don't even have to do that, just get them out of round Two and then a well timed shot to the head and he gets straight KO'ed.

I'm one of the few here who thoroughly enjoy the game, I guess.
I love it. I really enjoy being able to fight to a decision. Not every MMA fight ends in a knock out. In UFC, I had to baby my opponents to try and fight to a decision, simply for my own feelings of it being more realistic.
EA MMA > UFC for me.

That said, the knockdown animations are pretty good.

I was so looking forward to this & was pumped at the intro video showing the different fighters.
However after a couple of games I just hated it. The controls IMO are just terrible & already been deleted off my harddrive. Amazing how quickly this has gone from a mustbuy to not even interested in picking it up later at a bargain price. Was also very surprised there was no commentary, surely this was just as it's a demo?

Commentary will be in the full game. I'm wondering, what control scheme are you guys using? I hated Total Fight Control or Total Punch Control or whatever it was, but I switched to "Classic" control setup and it controls very much like UFC Undisputed.

I never felt liek I had FULL control while using the TPC on Fight Night, or on this game. EA actually tried to force players to use it for FNR4, were met with a firestorm of complaints, and put out a patch within months. IMO, classic control makes swaying and countering easier.
