NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING TO RUN NORTHEAST UNITED STATES
By Mike Johnson on 2010-10-03 16:00:00
New Japan Pro Wrestling will be running at least three events in the Northeastern United States in 2011, PWInsider.com has confirmed.
Jersey All Pro Wrestling will be helping NJPW and working as local promoters for the events. NJPW used Jushin Liger earlier in the year and have plans for Liger to return shortly.
The early word is that NJPW will bring over a troupe of 12 wrestlers and that the first shows aren't slated until at least May 2011.
My guess would be they run Philly, NJ, and NYC. I wonder who NJPW would fly over.

Apparently Liger and Devitt are the only two named confirmed. I'm really hoping for Kanemoto. Pretty sure Tanahashi and Nakamura will be coming as well.

NJPW running in the US = great JAPW working as local promoters = awful.
It'll be in some hole in the wall in New Jersey with no advertising with total f**king hacks like Monsta Mack on the show. JAPW = IWA-MS of the east coast

Before I even clicked on this I told myself, "they will probably be in Philly or somewhere around there."

When New Japan Pro Wrestling comes to the US, which is expected to be in May of 2011, the plan is to run the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, the Rahway Rec Center in New Jersey and then a third location somewhere in New York City. Jersey All Pro Wrestling will be helping to promote the shows.

No real surprises on the venue choices.

I can't believe my town is a wrestling hot bed. Do you think it's due to The Wrestler? Either way I'm pumped for NJPW.

I still don't see the point in adding Rhino at all. They had announced twenty people prior to adding Rhino. Adding Rhino doesn't sell any extra tickets and he probably asks for way too much considering he is complete crap right now. After just one match announced the Philly show looks the worst.

Holy geez I wish I could go... with all the money spent on the Mania trip, there's no way I could take another big trip so soon though Hopefully the shows will be a success and I'll be able to go to a later tour.
