In a controversial move, we may end up seeing the Benoit tragedy hit the big screen. Lost Colony Entertainment announced yesterday that they have acquired the film rights to adapt the Irv Muchnick book “Chris & Nancy”.
Muchnick is an ardent critic of WWE and the McMahon family, and his book reflects this bias. A movie will definitely not look good on the wrestling business.

I don't see how someone could make Benoit to be a victim in the story..which is the only way I could see this be adapted...
It won't catch on.

What sucks about Hollywood, is that despite the facts, they can paint whatever picture they like with whatever they put on the screen. For some reason, I don't see this doing the wrestling business any favors, and anything that darkens the cloud over pro wrestling any more, is not something I'll support.

They can make a fu*king movies series to make benoit look like a victim....But bottom line, he killed a defenseless woman and child. You don't get any lower in life and i will never spend a damn red cent with Benoit as the main feature.

i kinda thought this would eventually happen, a lot of other crazy killers and such get movies made about them, some on tv and some on the big screen. i hope it does get made as i think the wwe just wants it to go away and hope people will forget about it.

Damn.
Im interested in this.
It's impossible to make a movie about it without making WWE look bad, but I think its very possible to make it so that WWE gets little to no blame. That all depends on bow believable of an actor they can get to make you think "this guy had his own agenda".

Why would anyone want to watch this? As a wrestling fan, it still hurts to think this happend. I don't want to watch it unfold in dramatic form.

The Benoit tragedy is nothing that anyone should need to remember. The WWE is not to blame for this, so why should they be brought under any more scrutiny than they already were.

OK, I can still watch Benoit's matches, and play video games with him as a character (and even play with him). But a movie about this I can't stand for.

WTF? This has only negative effects on WWE. They'll make it look like it was WWE's fault and the public will actually believe it. It was the darkest day of wrestling and we don't need to relive it. I can still watch his matches, since he had outstanding matches, but a movie about the incident is just horrible.
