This board never has enough posts on it. I figured I'd see what everyone's favorite ongoing title was, maybe discover something new, be reminded of an old favorite, etc.
For me, personally, I get insanely excited over X-Factor at the moment. The only X-Factor I had ever read was the issues of Messiah Complex. I decided to catch up on a bunch of back issues that picked up right after Messiah and loved it. So I decided to start reading around issue 200 and it's just fantastic.
The character work is strong, the team dynamic is wonderfully refreshing, the dialogue is hilarious, smart, and snappy, and the art is more than satisfactory.
I could read about Shatterstar attacking pirate actors all day.
Now...your turn!

Really hard choice because there are so many good ones going like Batman and Robin, The Walking Dead, Powers, Chew, and a lot of others, but if I had to just pick one it would have to be Invincible. Robert Kirkman is a fantastic writer, he's made characters that I'm really emotionally invested in and some of the story arc's he writes are just the best things ever. But I wish the comics would come out quicker than they do.

Batman and Robin. Everything else other than Return of Bruce Wayne is just amateur in comparison.

the boys - crap has really been coming to a boiling point and there's gonna be massive changes soon. ennis has always been one of my favourite writers, and the boys is his second masterpiece after punisher max.
neonomicon - although it's only 2 (of 4 i believe) issues in, it's blown my mind. moore still is a creative, conceptive writer that really never disappoints. honestly the scariest comic i've ever read is issue 2.
punisher max - i've spouted about this comic for ages on this board. the odd one shot does fail, but overall the series (especially the current crap) is just phenomenal story telling. i enjoy it too much, almost.
those are the main ongoing three. good thread idea, hugo

I'm only reading a few current ongoing titles, so I'm not sure what the best read is currently going. I typically hunt down older stuff or mini series'. However, I do hear a lot about the different newer series' (Batman and Robin, Invincible Iron Man, Scalped etc.), but because I'm a little more of a casual reader I tend to pick up what sticks out to me. I wish I could read it all, being that there's so much quality stuff out there, but time and money has it's restraints.
Shield, Chew and recently Deadpool MAX are the only ongoing titles that I'm reading and I picked them up for different reasons.
Deadpool MAX - I'm a big fan of cartooning and Kyle Baker is one of the best in the biz. His Plastic Man is one of the favorite series ever, so when I got word he was doing this project I just couldn't resist. So far so good.
Chew - John Layman wrote a mini-series I loved that came out 6 to 7 years ago called 'Puffed'. The writing was clever, it's a lot like Chew is...lot's of social and political satire splashed with a little bit of dark humor and hilarious over the top sequences. What really grabbed my attention in the beginning was the art of Dave Crosland which had that flat cartoony element with an urban flare for style which really isn't all that dissimilar to what Rob Guillory provided in Chew. So naturally that was a must read and it's been everything that I hoped it would be and then some.
S.H.I.E.L.D. - Not really the type of art work I usually seek out, but the concept alone was worth a look and it's been absolutely mind-bending.

I do always forget how good B&R is. Seriously though, if the next couple issues are as good as the first two, the latest rendition of Wolverine could be my favorite.

the boys - **** has really been coming to a boiling point and there's gonna be massive changes soon. ennis has always been one of my favourite writers, and the boys is his second masterpiece after punisher max. Punisher Max sucked a lot of the time (some of it was alright), but The Boys is awesome (my favourite monthly series). Nothing Ennis does will ever touch his real masterpiece though. Preacher is the greatest comic book of all time.

i disagree with the claim that some of it simply 'sucked'. for it's time it was fairly breaking edge - sure, a lot of it was hit and miss, but the hits were big enough to cover the misses.
i personally enjoyed max more than preacher, although preacher is indisputably awesome.

I'd have to say Batman and Robin, but I too am also enjoying the new Wolverine series. Very well done.

I'm really enjoying the Avengers series right now. I've always been a fan of John Romita JR's artwork so that definately helps

Now that Morrison's work on B&R has ended, Batman, Inc is my favorite ongoing by default.
Detective Comics gets an honorable mention just after one issue under Scott Snyder. Speaking of Snyder, American Vampire gets a mention too.

Now that Morrison's work on B&R has ended, Batman, Inc is my favorite ongoing by default. Batman Inc. might be mine too, but it's too early to tell. Right now, Thunderbolts has taken over as my favorite comic. The 150th issue was fantastic, so much fun with some lovely character development. Really enjoyed the action sequences with Iron Man vs. Ghost and Rogers vs. Crossbones, too. I hope they can get an arc going soon. They had some tie-ins with Avengers Academy and Shadowland, but the book is best when it's standing alone. Looks like next month is a one-off, too. Special mention to Amazing Spider-Man; Big Time seems like it could really be consistently great.

Invincible Sweet Tooth Detective Comics Fables Chew/Uncanny X-Force (can't decide)
So many great titles right now it's hard to just narrow them down to 5, haha.
