TNA Wrestling announced today a new "Eliminate the Hate" campaign attempting to raise awareness for stopping bullying that has gained national attention this school year.
Public Service Announcements from TNA wrestlers will air during TNA programming and on national radio shows.
TNA's press release includes notes on Mr. Anderson and Kazarian being bullied in high school, as well as The Pope standing up to bullying.
The campaign coincides with TNA World Hvt. champion Jeff Hardy appearing on CBS's "The Talk" daytime talk show last week. Hardy invited a 10-year-old boy to the Impact Zone in Orlando after he went public with his story of being bullied for trying out for his school's cheerleading team.
Mr. Anderson was quoted in the press release, saying, "I was bullied until I was a freshman in high school because I didn't conform to a group or play sports. I was open that I liked video gaming and comic books and got picked on for that. I eventually took Tae Kwon Do and Eskrima lessons because the bullying was relentless and I thought it would come to a fight. But when the bullies heard I was taking martial arts classes, they backed off."
Caldwell's Analysis: Good effort from TNA here, but if they want people to take this seriously, they can start by eliminating unnecessary "bullying" on their own TV program. Specifically, the backstage segment two weeks ago on Impact where Eric Bischoff's character was just way over the top berating and belittling Miss Tessmacher. Heels being heels is part of pro wrestling, but uncomfortable, turn-the-channel segments like the Bischoff-Tessmacher segment two weeks ago are completely unnecessary and go beyond any sense of common decency.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
While it's a commendable effort, TNA fails again at being relevent. Telling people not to do something that you practice on your own show I think is kinda hypocritical,,ie,,,the concussion storyline. Maybe they should tell kids not to wear anything tna TNA and that would stop the bullying, lol.
And it makes no sense for hardy to act like a face off camera then be a heel on camera, ugh, so backwards this company is.
thoughts?

Hope it succeeds. TNA is good when it comes to stuff like this. Hardy is also pretty good with stuff like this. Its nice to see these guys out of character once in a while.

1. "Caldwell's Analysis." Just report the ing news, I don't care about your opinion on it. 2. Good for TNA. I hope they get more than just those guys to say something. Maybe some bigger stars saying something.

One of the few things I will agree with TNA on.
Good job, TNA.

Wait, so TNA can't do anything good because it has a storyline on their show? That makes no sense... also... kayfabe is dead so there is nothing wrong with Hardy doing stuff like this. It's no different then heels signing autographs..

holy ! you hate on everything! .l. I was making a valid point. Should wade barret be out singing songs on the cartoon network? There's a reason companies push babyfaces on tv and it translates in the public eye. Nothing wrong with what TNA is trying to do as i said it was "commendable" but Jesus christ, how bout some consistency? Here's a company who's premise is about fighting with other people, so it would make sense to have the wrestlers who arent actually being the bullies on the show to represent them. Try understanding, how, why, and when I post before making ignorant statements!

The kid's favorite wrestler was Jeff Hardy... so... instead of TNA being rude and worrying about kayfabe, Hardy appeared. There is nothing in the article that TNA released that hurts their company nor their talent. The fact of the matter is this, it's a television show just like any other show. When the cameras are off... they are real people and treat others the way they are, not their characters. There is nothing wrong with TNA having Hardy, Kazarian, or whomever else be in this role. You can't fault TNA for having their talent do this. Also, to compare Wade Barrett out singing to standing up to freaking bullies is down right silly.

Do you think that calling something silly somehow invalidates it? Did I say they couldn't do it? I said it does not go along with what they are portraying on tv and thus my example with wade barret, which although silly to you, is a valid point. WWE does make a wish foundation with guys like Cena, kane, punk, taker, etc becasue of who those individual people want to see. I get that, It;s the contrast of what those people are portraying on tv that doesn't make sense. Do you understand that now?
