I understand that it wasn't one of the big 3 mailaways in the WWF Magazine but you can't rule out the many other WWF Promo's that were on offer during the height of popularity in the UK in the early 90s. I'm personally not saying it's worth that much money but you can't say it was never issued. The Hogan #2 was issued in the same bag and was found to be highly sought after by collectors. Unless you have a definitive list from Hasbro UK about every figure they sent out bagged in the early 90s I don't think you can say for sure whether or not this is legit. Yea these people posting how fake it is are the same people screaming how legit THEIR hasbro prototypes are..... This place is full of double standards so I guess get use to it... Here It all depends on WHO says it's legit. .... There is a Classic superstars Andre the Giant figure that was released in a baggy and its the exact same figure that was released in a package but classic collectors consider it a "different" piece of their collection but I guess that would be wrong? ...... Personally I don't think the summerslam baggies are legit but that's just a opinion. It does get a little hectic. Here's my take (ironic, considering your last statement : the Hasbro figures were intended for mass release on carding. There are three bagged figures that were issued through mail aways and the Hogan and Savage in the JC Penney ring. Those are the legitimate bagged figures to me and here's why. (Feel free to add others that have been proven to be mass issued in bags.) There were a large wave of these unsealed bags that were sold on US eBay early in the 2000 decade, and by large I mean by the THOUSANDS. Could they have been issued as a giveaway at Summerslam '92? Maybe. It relatively fits the timeline as to when they would have been out. If they were giving them away to nearly 95,000 people and overflow going to various Summerslam events, of course they would save money/time by sealing them in baggies instead of carding. Could they have issued them in baggies identical to the ones Hogan and Savage were packaged in? Absolutely. Would I ever purchase any of these baggied figures? Absolutely not. The bags that turned up on eBay? A short time after that, there mysteriously was a wave of figures in those bags from a user name with significantly less feedback from the user who bought them, but coincidently the same location. There are probably at least 1,000 of these fraudulently bagged figures floating around from this one particular incident, including one of the more popular schemes: bagging Hogan #3 and passing him off as an "error". If the baggied figures had something like "Summerslam '92" on the packaging or a sticker, I'd buy into it. But there is no way to distinguish these ones from the fraudulent ones that were packaged up 5-10 years ago. Now how do I know that this figure was not issued bagged? Well, I may go softer on my original stance and say that I don't. However, I will say this. That incident ruined all instances of bagged figures for me and if it was issued bagged, it then became 1,000 times more likely to be bootlegged when the bags turned up.

so your saying you think there were 1000 hasbro figures sold in these bags by 1 ebay seller? I don't think the warrior 3 is legit but i think your theory is a bit far fetched - or should i say a bit inflated in terms of potential numbers!

Like I have already said myself, I experienced hasbros arriving in bags but that was (i believe) to save on postage because they were always from third party companies and not hasbro. The bags if they are legit are most definitely from the uk because of the CE UK safety small parts logo. However as I believe that 'some' of these bagged figures on eBay had been purchased that way, as they were put together by 3rd party companies, imo they are worth f all. If you were to show me that hasbro intended to release them in a bag then I would be interested. But if the figures were put in a bag by a tv show or magazine company - so what, I'd sooner have it loose

It takes literally all of 2 seconds to seal these bags. You buy lots and lots of Hasbros, 1,000 of them would take 2,000 seconds or 33.3 minutes to seal. Obviously it wouldn't be THAT quick, but it wouldn't take more than a few hours, not counting the time buying the loose figures. He was caught because several of the figures had noticeable signs of wear, particularly a Kerry Von Erich that was just trashed.

Adam, ichiban, hasbromaniac can confirm this too... And by the way Mr. Ron Rudat can confirm this too...

As i remember there were two different types of fakes though. Some had printing on the bag whilst another lot had a sticker attached to the bag.

I havent spent the last 21 years collecting these things to buy fakes. Fakes are very easy to spot if you know what you are looking for. The bag for this warrior 3 is about twice the size of my warriors 1 bag, both are fake. If you look at hasbro toys from 1990- 93 in the uk, most toy sets with small pieces came in bags identical to this from newport gwent.

As bagged Hasbros from whatever promotion are nice to own, there are only 6 collectible ones. They are the 3 WWF magazine mailaways (Bret,Hogan,Taker), The JC Penney Hogan and Savage (exclusive catalog ring) and Hogan w/hug. It's the people who are resealing any figure that they want that are ruining the hobby.

Joe). I would estimate that there were at one point at least 50 WWF Hasbro wrestlers on eBay through a small window. I imagine the seller also sold quite a few of these outside of eBay, as well. He/she mainly bagged up the Warrior, Koko, Tornado, Perfect, Beefcake #2 run, with a few from the Slaughter, Hogan #3, Typhoon, Earthquake assortment mixed in.

Fuji Yeah, I wasn't around when this thread was on-going, but I would also like to know what happened to Hasbromad..? Also, after reading back - CDP, I would give up on trying to make that guy believe our prototypes are real. He's set in his opinion, we're not going to change it, and I really couldn't care. We know they are real, as do most other Hasbro collectors - so let him believe what he wants and just laugh it of. He's the one who has no clue - not us.

Your dead wrong when you say "as do most other hasbro collectors", There's a total of about 4-5 of you who believe that rubbish.....That's not most.... Let's get some other former hasbro employees off the net to sell you some more stuff... Because the only value you guys have on them are the 4 or 5 other collectors who believe that hogwash...... If I'm correct you also posted awhile back saying that Woodrow toys LJN Prototypes are legit ..lol......... I find it funny your the one who says I have no clue..Hahahahahahahaha.... Like the saying goes. People in glass houses should not throw stones...........

Well done you - you are dead right, I was refering to yourself. I won't comment on the Hasbro related stuff - because as I said above I really am not interested one bit in what you, or others, believe.
I do think you are mistaken regarding the LJN suggestion though - I know absolutely nothing about that line bar which figures they made, so I can't imagine I would have said they '''are legit'' .. Whether i said I 'think' they 'look' legit is a different matter, I may well have but I don't know, because I have no idea what figures you're talking about.
Anyway, please excuse me - I'm off to make another one of my fake protos... Hahahaha!

Cheers Ichiban.
I don't think there's any arguments or anything here though, just a vast difference in opinion.
