Where was Jerry Lawler?!? ^This I'm assuming he might be part of a Basic line, rather than the Legends line, but that's just guessing on my part (simply for the fact he's active at the moment) |

Sorry Sherri but you're way off base on this and you're getting way too defensive. Legends as a whole really aren't selling well. Hince the move to 4 per series. Classic women that were essentially card fillers 20 years ago and managers of wrestlers who we haven't gotten figures of yet won't boost those sales. Sorry to be so blunt, but it's the truth.

Sorry Sherri but you're way off base on this and you're getting way too defensive. Legends as a whole really aren't selling well. Hince the move to 4 per series. Classic women that were essentially card fillers 20 years ago and managers of wrestlers who we haven't gotten figures of yet won't boost those sales. Sorry to be so blunt, but it's the truth. Every single one of the Series 2, minus Kamala, is warming the shelves at 3 Targets I went to, and that's even AFTER being discounted to 7 bucks. No female figure is going to turn that around. |

The level of rudeness and name calling is really laughable. Yes, says the guy who has been complaining about all the "Playboy Bunnies." You can think what you like, but until the line is an established seller, they're not going to take chances on female characters that boys aren't likely to buy. |

You can think what you like, but until the line is an established seller, they're not going to take chances on female characters that boys aren't likely to buy. Its funny, as I was leaving Target with my Elite Jack Swagger today, I was thinking "Boy, I'm glad there's no women in the Elite line, cause it would be REALLY awkward for me to buy them. Imagine how it would be to be a 12 year old boy trying to say you're buying an action figure, not a doll, but its a female?" Boys have zero interest in girl toys, even if they are wrestling. This is no personal attack on divas, its just the honest truth, and that's how business works. |

I think the main area that mattel needs improvement is their case packouts. In the past year, this has led to many less popular characters sitting on the shelves. They are at least trying new things, as evident by Elite 7, but in my opinion, have yet to perfect it. While I think that Kidd and Smith should both be 1 per case, I think it was a mistake to separate the tag team. They could have instead made HHH 1 per case to match his partner, HBK, or Made Cena 2 per case instead of 3.

I agree that the female figures don't sell as well as the males and from a business standpoint it makes sense that they haven't produced them yet but you can't make an assumption that boys have zero interest when there are boys out there that want to buy and do buy the female figures.

When I was a kid, I remember thinking it was awesome to stumble upon a female action figure since you rarely saw them. With X-Men, for instance, finding a Rogue or Storm was like finding a hidden treasure for me because all you ever saw were the same old Gambit and Wolverine figures. It's the same with wrestlers, when I stumbled upon a Lita or that awesome Molly Holly figure back in the day, I thought they were great and wasn't in the least bit embarrassed to buy them. Now, I'm not arguing that the women sell better or worse than the male figures do. I'm just stating that I don't think all boys are afraid/embarrassed of female action figures. |

Superheroes are a bit different. Female wrestling figures are usually just wearing average, almost everyday clothes, not dressed up in a comic book like fashion. Its the matter of their TOYS being popular in the 2010's, and looking as to how the Legends line in general is filling shelves still, I've seen no evidence of that being the case. |

Not really sure about that... I'll go one step further. That set would collect dust like no set ever has. The problem with Legends is not character selection. It is the overall collector market. For the most part kids are not buying the Legends...collectors are. We as collectors, simply are not supporting the lines Mattel has produced. I am not blaming people for not supporting these lines. We all determine what we can afford, and what we can't. There have been suggestions that Mattel produce less, and therefore there won't be as much product sitting on the shelves. The only problem with this is that we do not know the numbers Mattel needs to make it worth their time to even produce. I'm thankful we are getting what we are from Mattel in terms of Legends. Until the economy turns around, and unemployment drops significantly...I highly doubt we will be seeing Legends, or any solely collector driven line produced like they were the past year for quite some time. |
