WWF Raw is War 5/25/98Alright, Over the Edge this Sunday. Austin not even throwing a punch is the exact opposite of his character. Kind of a pointless promo here. Robert Gibson winning what would be a pretty lackluster fatal four way is a disappointing. Man, Morton and Gibson just were a waste of space in 98. I pray you keep the straps away from them. Great Light Heavyweight match. Keep this division relevant, please. It would be nice to have good in-ring matches on Raw with these guys, but you've been doing a good job of that so far. Not a bad win for Bradshaw. I see Shamrock retaining his title without a doubt, though. LOVED the Goldust promo. Lone Gladiator is bad ass nick name. Really short Raw main event. Great feud advancement with Foley and Taker. Funk and Hart winning was best, as it gives Funk a chance at beating Hunter this Sunday at Over the Edge. Waltman and Hart put on a good at match IRL at KOTR, so I expect nothing else at OTE. Edge saved this part of the show. Jacqueline stripping a jobber to his under wear probably sent the crowd dead silent. Man, I love Al Snow. He's a great character, and he can play off himself, which is awesome. Mark Henry with the win in another fatal four way is decent, I guess. Huge main event, Kane chokeslamming Austin to "hell" is awesome. Good close to the show. Not a bad show, some high points and low points. Over the EdgeShame the Lightweight match didn't make it onto the card. It is stacked, though. Oh poop, it's Dan Severn! Cornette's stable is huge. I like it. Great Goldust promo.Women being stripped down to their body? Vintage Attitude Era. Glad Hart and X-Pac got a decent amount of time in the ring. Nice post-match attack from Sean. No shocker with The Rock picking up the win. I could see Rock winning King of the Ring, if I'm honest. Foley being Makind only re-assures my belief that you are going with HIAC at King of the Ring. Glad that Mankind picked up the win, even though I see Taker winning their next battle, if there is one. Not so sold on Shamrock getting himself DQ'd. At least it keeps Shamrock with the strap without hurting Bradshaw. That is great and not so great booking in one match. Mind f**k. Happy to see The Outlaws retain their tag titles. I have no idea who can take them, at the moment. No strong faces teams active at this time. I Quit match sounded great, and was the perfect match type for Funk to "retire." I'm pretty sure Funk isn't done, but I bet EWR is having him retire in June. Big main event. I hated when the main events ended by DQ back in the Attitude Era. Stone Cold not standing tall to end the show is different. Maybe there won't be a HIAC match, and perhaps a Fatal Four Way? Interesting, many things you can do right now. It was a great PPV for back in 98, I can say that. It had a pretty strong under card. Good stuff, can't wait for King of the Ring. Keep track of how Shamrock is working with a broken hand thanks to Bradshaw. Would you rather a 290 pound Texan put you out indefinitely or you get away with the title AND your health? Sure, uncharacteristic for a face to do, but think of it from that perspective.

-Jarrett going over Snow was another decent defense for him. Wonder how long it will go. -Looked like a pretty tough battle between Owen and X-Pac. Glad Owen won. -Rock needed this win tonight. A decent match for what it was. How that Rocky moves to something else now. -Amazing match between Taker and Mankind. A very entertaining read to say the least. -It was obvious that the New Age Outlaws would come out on top tonight. -Funk's career ending was sad, but HHH seemed like the right man to do it. Could put him at main event status if worked right. -Big contreversial main event. This feud between Kane and Undertaker seems to continue, adding in Mankind and McMahon and Austin into it. -Good PPV; very entertaining read.

first, i dig the old school feel of the King of the Ring bracket. Definitely 1998 quality.
Over The Edge '98 - Meh, Dan Severn coming in to help Jarrett is okay, but I really see no point for him and hopefully he does something more than just feud with Shamrock. - Goldust becoming Dustin Runnels was bound to happen and I'm glad you went along with it. - Confusing end to the evening-gown match. Did Mero remove Sable's top? Either way, Jacqueline nude under the ring is comical. - Finally, Owen over DX and its cleanly too! But meh to the X-Pac attack at the end...cannot just give Owen a moment to shine. - Felt like the Rock should have gone over cleanly here. Faarooq has nothing left for the company and the Rock is your next star, yet you still need him to cheat and win. Dislike. - Really? A Pat Patterson run in? Thats a rough way to lose, especially for the Undertaker. The ending of the match was pretty weak, didn't feel this one to much either. And does this mean more Mankind/Austin? - Shamrock getting DQ'ed on purpose? I agree with Penguin, definitely not like him whether the guy was fighting healthy or with half an arm. Shamrock is someone who doesn't cheap out like that. - Outlaws retain again to no surprise. Not much to say about this one. - Funk passing out is the perfect way for him to go out; not actually giving up, just passing out. Also gives him a way to come back if needed. AND this also elevates Triple H to main event status if you ask me. - Meh, McMahon clotheslining Austin and he gets DQ'ed? Doesn't make any sense at all and a REALLY weak way to end a PPV. Sure, its an IYH, but with a DQ after the chairman hits a clothesline is strange. Taker destroying everyone just makes a big mess of the main event scene, even know Mankind technically is the number one contender.
Good PPV, but there is definitely room for improvement. I have been reading for sure over the past month or so and this is still my favorite on the board. Don't stop any time soon.

| WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 1st June 1998 |

Chicago, Illinois - Rosemont Horizon

# | Dark Match | 1 | Edge def. Jordan Quinn | 2 | Fatu def. Pierre | 3 | Steve Austin def. Kane and Triple H |

A replay from Over the Edge: In Your House aired, as last night we saw the WWF Championship at stake in a demolition derby as Stone Cold Steve Austin took on Kane, a back and forth match as Austin kept matters under control, Austin even getting rid of Paul Bearer but Austin would be disqualified by Mr McMahon, the evil guest referee of the match, but even after Vince had clotheslined Austin! The lights went out, and when they returned The Undertaker was there, fighting Kane off and running the Chairman out of the ring, then threatening Austin! 'Taker wanted the WWF title as Over the Edge went off the air. The opening video package for RAW aired, and we cut to the live Rosemont Horizon in Chicago for RAW is WAR! Jim Ross and Michael Cole introduce us to the show before going to the ring.
We cut to the ring as Mr McMahon was on his way to the ring, the Chairman of the World Wrestling Federation in the ring as the man that cost Stone Cold Steve Austin a clean victory last night at Over the Edge stood satisfied in the ring. The Chairman stood alone tonight, as Vince talked about how he's quite satisfied with what went on last night, Kane may not have gotten the job done but he's happy that he managed to still harm Steve Austin's street 'cred', as he was beaten up by an old man! McMahon was very quickly interrupted by the glass shattering, and Stone Cold Steve Austin headed to the ring to a massive ovation, the "Texas Rattlesnake" in the ring asking Vince if he thought what he did last night was smart. Austin repeatedly asked Vince several similar questions about last night, not giving McMahon a chance to talk before he told Vince to shut his bunghole! The crowd cheered as the WWF Champion asked Vince if he was really a wrestler then, being that he clotheslined him pretty hard last night. Austin raised the title belt and asked him what it was, McMahon noting how it was the most prestigious belt in this business and how that prestige is being deteriorated by the "Texas Rattlesnake" himself! Austin flips McMahon the bird as Stone Cold tells Vince that he's sick and tired of the Chairman being on his back week in, week out, and so tonight, he's challenging the Chairman himself to take the title from him! Vince states that he doesn't believe in competing, but Austin reminded us of an episode of RAW is WAR from March, Vince commenting on if he considered fighting Stone Cold and claiming he'd 'knock Stone Cold' out! Vince told Steve that they ARE live in Chicago, where at WrestleMania 13, Austin passed out in a match to one of the most embarrassing wrestlers in this business! Vince told Austin that he could have the match, and the crowd erupted, Vince McMahon in action tonight!?
An advertisement aired, promoting the encore presentation of WWF Over the Edge: In Your House, tomorrow night on pay-per-view from 7/8 CT.
-- Commercial Break --
We return to RAW as X-Pac was in the ring with Chyna, X-Pac with a microphone, commenting on the knee brace wearing tonight. X-Pac talked about how last night, Owen Hart took it too far and injured his leg once again, but unlike a **** like our WWF Intercontinental Champion, Ken Shamrock with his broken hand, X-Pac will keep fighting, and with the King of the Ring tournament starting tonight, this is a hot comeback for D-Generation X's biggest degenerate!
1) King of the Ring Qualifying Match: Steve Blackman vs X-Pac (w/Chyna) |

The first match in the King of the Ring tournament this year, as sixteen men this year will compete in the King of the Ring tournament in an effort to make history as the 1998 King of the Ring winner and perhaps obtain main event spotlight. X-Pac was ever confident tonight, despite the loss to Owen Hart last night at Over the Edge. Meanwhile the "Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman had been home recovering from an acoustic guitar shot to the shoulder, courtesy of Jeff Jarrett. Blackman had a lot to prove to this rising star as X-Pac seemingly tried to humiliate the "Lethal Weapon", confident kicks and mocking Blackman's karate poses before nailing him with the Bronco Buster! Blackman soon recovered and took X-Pac's head off with the Martial Arts Kick out of nowhere! Blackman covered but Chyna got into the ring and smooched Blackman! Blackman grabbed Chyna by the hair as Chyna grabbed Blackman by the throat, X-Pac getting back up with a kick to the gut, and the X-Factor got X-Pac the win!

Winner: X-Pac @ 4:32 [**]

X-Pac celebrated his win to boos as Chyna stood alongside X-Pac, the crowd totally shocked by the "Ninth Wonder of the World"'s method to distract Steve Blackman. But the main thing was, X-Pac is the first man in the King of the Ring quarter-finals! We see the WWF Intercontinental Champion in the backstage area walking to the ring it seemed, a big cast on his hand. And up next we will hear from the "World's Most Dangerous Man"! An advertisement aired, promoting the King of the Ring; live on pay-per-view on Sunday, June 28th 1998 from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. -- Commercial Break --A vignette aired as it promoted the Attitude Era. We return to RAW as the theme of the "World's Most Dangerous Man" hit, the WWF Intercontinental Champion walking to the ring wearing his ring attire and a big cast on his broken hand, no thanks to Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw in recent weeks. Shamrock tried to put up a fight with Bradshaw, but resorted to having to get himself disqualified in an unpopular decision from the capacity crowd in Milwaukee. Shamrock stood in the ring with a microphone as he began to talk about how he has a broken hand, and that is clear to everybody in this arena tonight. He says that it is almost impossible to apply the Ankle Lock or nail a fully effective belly-to-back suplex with his big cast on, but he refuses to let these fans down and vacate the title in case it falls into the wrong hands! Shamrock says that he will recover, continue to be a fighting champion, and Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw better watch himself when he's 100% again! 2) WWF Intercontinental Championship: Ken Shamrock (c) vs D-Lo Brown |

This was a random championship defense to be made by the supposed fighting WWF Intercontinental Champion with the bad hand, but he did not know what he was getting himself into completely when D-Lo Brown took him on; Brown been absent recently due to appearances in several ECW events in the last month. Brown went right for the hand, as any smart man would, but Brown forgot that the board of directors had sanctioned Shamrock wearing the cast in matches, and so Shamrock started running at Brown with several cast shots, D-Lo soon beating Ken down and stretching the aggravated fingers from the bad hand, wrenching the hand back! Brown soon started to weaken the cast with stomps, Brown going for the Sky High but Shamrock reversed it into the hurricanrana! Shamrock grabbed the ankle of Brown despite the cast and went to apply the Ankle Lock but Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw got into the ring, trying to go after Shamrock but Shamrock laid Justin out with the cast! Shamrock turned around and was given a big Sky High by D-Lo, scoring the victory!

Winner and NEW WWF Intercontinental Champion: D-Lo Brown @ 4:25 [**]

D-Lo Brown celebrated his win as the crowd booed, the Nation member getting up and claiming his newly won WWF Intercontinental Championship, but the fighting handicapped champion Ken Shamrock had fought, and could have won had it not been for Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw! D-Lo began to leave as Bradshaw got into the ring and nailed Shamrock with the Clothesline From Hell! Bradshaw dragged Shamrock out of the ring and began to rip his cast off, and then began to slam Shamrock's hand right into the ring post! Bradshaw placed a chair on the hand of Shamrock's, and then proceeded to ram him and the chair into the ring post hand first! Bradshaw left Shamrock riving in pain as EMTs began to rush out to aid to the "World's Most Dangerous Man". In the backstage area we are with Vince McMahon, Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco in the office of the Chairman, Patterson and Brisco talking about how Vince does not know what he's getting himself into, and does not know why he is letting Stone Cold Steve Austin, a WWF superstar and WWF Champion, touch him in physical natures and harm a millionaire genius like Mr McMahon himself. McMahon laughs, telling Patterson and Brisco that he has a plan and not to worry. -- Commercial Break --We return to RAW as the New Age Outlaws are stood in the ring, the WWF Tag Team Champions having something to say here tonight. Road Dogg asks the fans if they're ready to see something spectacular as Billy Gunn talks about how he's the man with the best ass in the World Wrestling Federation, and Jesse James is here to bring the rapping. Jesse James starts a rap about how they are the best damn WWF Tag Team Champions ever, and they will prove it against any team any time! 3) Non-Title Match: The New Age Outlaws vs Too Much |

It wasn't that bad an effort by the youngsters, Brian Christopher and Scott Taylor as this match was bound to be interesting; two teams that are still youthful, talented and full of potential as James and Gunn were actually cheered by the fans in this bout. The WWF Tag Team Champions worked over Brian Christopher quick and easily, and this made it difficult for the much more inexperienced Scott Taylor. Taylor soon got the tag as he tried to go for several sneaky victories, including various roll-up attempts on Gunn just for each attempt to be kicked out of. Gunn and James soon quickly began to set up for a Spike Piledriver on Taylor before suddenly ECW's Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney appeared! They ran into the ring wielding steel chairs as they laid out the New Age Outlaws!

Winners: The New Age Outlaws @ 4:07 by disqualification [**]

The New Age Outlaws were ran out of the ring as this was the second invasion suffered for the WWF Tag Team Champions, Extreme Championship Wrestling's residential extreme tag team Balls Mahoney and Axl Rotten had arrived in the World Wrestling Federation, and seemingly targeting Billy Gunn and Jesse James' titles! The combination were then escorted by security, as the fans chanted 'ECW' and Balls' name. In the backstage area we see Al Snow standing with Head watching a television monitor, Snow seeing Too Much wander through the curtains as he told them that the Minis did a good job. This offended Brian Christopher and Scott Taylor, as Snow asked them why they were now nearing in on him. Christopher asks Snow if he's ever looked at himself and said 'tomorrow I will quit taking drugs', because he's an addict! Snow tells them not to mess with them as Head will get them. Taylor smirked, going to hit Al but Taylor got Head! Brian and Snow exchanged a few shots before Christopher got Head too! Snow and Head had laid out Too Much! The "Black Hart" was shown walking down a corridor, and up next he will be in action with Jeff Jarrett! -- Commercial Break --Jim Ross and Michael Cole promoted what was coming up in the second hour of RAW is WAR tonight, the War Zone. As it will feature three other King of the Ring tournament matches; plus we are still yet to hear from both The Undertaker and Mick Foley; Terry Funk will say goodbye once and for all; as well as us seeing for the first time ever, Mr McMahon competing in the ring, one on one for the WWF Championship! 4) Non-Title Match: Jeff Jarrett (c) (w/Jim Cornette) vs Owen Hart |

This was bound to be a hard-fought contest between two of the greatest wrestlers in sports entertainment, the "Black Hart" outsmarting Jeff Jarrett on all fronts and seemingly not going to be wasting time trying to secure a sneaky three count. Owen went for a hurricanrana but Jarrett somehow found the strength to carry the "Black Hart" half way across the ring and powerbomb him to the floor! Jarrett gained momentum as Jim Cornette got involved, slyly attacking Owen behind the referee's back. Jarrett continued as he worked over the spine of Owen, connecting with several big time backbreakers and setting up for what could have been the Stroke. But Owen reversed, nailing a big enziguri and then taking Cornette out with a big right hand! Owen set up for the Sharpshooter as Jarrett was struggling, the NWA North American Heavyweight Champion possibly about to lose another big non-title match. Jarrett got to the ropes, but before anything else could happen the Mid-South Connection had hit the ring, jumping Owen!

Winner: Owen Hart @ 7:23 [**1/4]

The crowd booed as the Mid-South Connection began to pound away at the "Black Hart", Bob Holly and Bart Gunn setting up for the big Collision Leg Drop of the Mid-South Connection! Gunn and Holly stood tall before Jeff Jarrett joined in, stomping away at Owen as Dan Severn stood at ringside, the "Beast" finally here in the WWF! Severn climbed into the ring and gave Owen a huge T-bone suplex just like last night at Over the Edge to Al Snow! Cornette and the South stood over Owen, Cornette satisfied with all of this. We quickly cut to the backstage locker room as Kane was stood fuming, throwing chairs around and tossing over tables in the dressing room, Paul Bearer trying to calm the "Big Red Machine" down, and RAW went off the air!

The opening video package for the War Zone aired, as we cut to the live Rosemont Horizon in Chicago, Illinois, Jim Ross and Jerry the "King" Lawler introducing us to the second hour of RAW is WAR. The crowd cheered as Val Venis' theme hit and he came to the ring, taking a microphone and introducing himself to the ladies. Val talked about how he was here to 'arouse' many people's entertainment points, particularly the women's. For Dustin Runnels, he was about to find out what happens when he crosses the line, and Val will bring the innuendo back up Runnels' ass! 5) King of the Ring Qualifying Match: Val Venis vs Dustin Runnels |

This match had the potential to be a barn burner as these two men fought several weeks ago on RAW is WAR, the "Big Valbowski" attacked by the returning Artist Formerly Known As Goldust, and then last night at Over the Edge it was Goldust who attacked Val Venis after losing a Free 4-All match to Venis, and then later proceeded to betray his persona and rename himself 'Dustin Runnels'. Runnels fired at Venis several times whilst not allowing Venis to fight back, Runnels hating Venis for everything that the World Wrestling Federation became. Runnels, now a bitter man wanted respect and demanded it from 'nutty gimmicks' like Val's. Runnels was outbrawled though, as Venis fired back, giving Runnels a German suplex and Val seemed to be setting up for the reverse suplex/powerbomb position, Runnels slipping out of it as he attempted what was formerly the Curtain Call on Val just for Venis to slide out of it and take Dustin down with a clothesline! Venis applied a unique leg submission to Runnels, and Runnels tapped!

Winner: Val Venis @ 4:53 [**]

The crowd cheered as Val Venis got back up to his feet and celebrated, the "Big Valbowski" now advancing into the quarter-final round of the King of the Ring tournament! An updated bracket appeared, as Val Venis will now face the winner of Faarooq and Dan Severn, and they will compete tonight! In the backstage area we see Kane still destroying the locker room, as the wall lockers were tipped over, metal locker sets tipped, chairs broken, garbage all over the floor, a plant destroyed as well, the "Big Red Machine" now going after the wall. Paul Bearer kept yelling for Kane to stop but Kane refused, obviously irate that he was not able to win the WWF Championship last night. Kane finally rested, sitting down in the rubble. -- Commercial Break --A video package aired, showcasing the arrogance of the Nation as of late. The Rock had brought personality to the Nation, turning D-Lo Brown into a WWF Intercontinental Champion (although not featured in this video) from being fresh out of training camp; Kama Mustafa from a hard-hitting tank in the WWF to being a massive hit with the ladies, so much he's became known as "The Godfather". It showed the Nation out in nightclubs, Rock, Mustafa, Mark Henry (with two white women) and Brown hooking up with women, and it was here that Mark Henry was known as "Sexual Chocolate" for his fetish for white women. The Nation may as well be family, because they were definitely a hit with the ladies! We return to the War Zone as the theme of The Undertaker hit, and the lights went out, everything gloomy here in Chicago, but the Undertaker simply walked out from the backstage area, not about to waste a second walking the rampway! Undertaker was not looking like the "Lord of Darkness" tonight, wearing a bandana and biker jacket, Undertaker storming into the ring and taking a microphone, Undertaker asking Vince McMahon if he saw this coming! 'Taker talked about how he's been sick and tired of having to fight through great match after great match, just to revert to having to fight for his life for a WWF Championship shot! Undertaker asked Vince if it was really worth it, being here when all he got was sh*t. 'Taker mentioned how he was undefeated at WrestleMania, he was a loyal employee, a locker room leader. And he still stands around and is expected to wait and perhaps earn a WWF Championship shot. The "Deadman" tells McMahon that he will get his just desserts tonight, and it might not be from the "Texas Rattlesnake"! Paul Bearer finally interrupted, Bearer asking Undertaker to bare with him a second, as he's got Kane under watch from every security member in attendance. He says how Kane is annoyed by Vince screwing with his WWF Championship opportunity last night, and that he used him as a pawn. But their war is not yet over. Bearer says how Kane will never live down the fact that he has to play the "Big Red Machine" - a freak! At least 'Taker gets to show himself in all of his glory. Bearer invites Undertaker to fight Kane next week in a No Holds Barred match! Undertaker didn't need a second to respond, accepting! A vignette aired, promoting the debut of the mysterious Edge, who will be debuting in two weeks time, only on RAW is WAR! -- Commercial Break --In the backstage area we see Mr McMahon preparing for his match with Stone Cold Steve Austin, lifting some weights and looking incredibly well built for a businessman like himself. Commissioner Slaughter came in, Slaughter talking about how he was around the days where McMahon partied all the time. He says he misses those days. But now Vince is power hungry, his ego is massive! He asks Vince if this is what his father did? No, it was to simply commentate matches. Slaughter mentions how he'll be looking forward to what will happen with Vince and Austin tonight, and he wishes Vince the best of luck. But he's lost respect for him. Slaughter leaves as McMahon shrugged it off. 6) King of the Ring Qualifying Match: Faarooq vs Dan Severn (w/Jim Cornette) |

Faarooq stood alone tonight, looking incredibly annoyed with the fact that he was not successful against The Rock last night at Over the Edge. But this was the debut of the "Beast", Dan Severn. Severn debuted last night also, joining the South of Cornette, and Severn aided Jeff Jarrett in his win against Al Snow. Faarooq put the fight up to the "Beast", nailing the spinebuster but Dan Severn with his larger build and his mixed martial-arts style had Faarooq in loopholes, Severn with a cross armbreaker that could have very well ended the match there. Seven went for the move known as the 'Beast Choker', a dragon sleeper with body scissors and Faarooq attempted to fight it but he passed out!

Winner: Dan Severn @ 5:12 [*3/4]

Dan Severn celebrated his win to boos, Jim Cornette getting into the ring as well as the "Beast" nailed a big belly-to-back piledriver on poor Faarooq! Severn stood tall and dominant whilst Cornette revealed that the South were expanding and nobody could stop them! Severn was going into the quarter-finals of the King of the Ring tournament, and he will be facing Val Venis. We go to Stone Cold Steve Austin as the WWF Champion was tying up his knee braces, Dok Hendrix standing by and asking the "Texas Rattlesnake" for his thoughts before facing Vince McMahon. Austin looked at Hendrix and laughed, then leaving with a smile on his face! -- Commercial Break --7) King of the Ring Qualifying Match: Marc Mero (w/Jacqueline) vs TAKA Michinoku |

A mixing of styles here, as "Marvelous" Marc Mero was accompanied by a beautiful young lady that had been humiliated by Sable at Over the Edge, being stripped naked live on pay-per-view, as Jacqueline seemed shy tonight. TAKA Michinoku seemed hyped, facing a former WWF Intercontinental Champion, as Michinoku came at Mero with several headscissors and hurricanranas, TAKA not letting the Kai En Tai thoughts get under his skin, instead focusing on the King of the Ring tournament. Michinoku tried the victory roll but Mero dropped him on his face, Mero soon setting up the TKO just for Michinoku to arm drag his way out of it, Michinoku nailing a big springboard moonsault onto Mero! Michinoku prepared for the Michinoku Driver, Mero getting out of it and applying a sleeper hold to Michinoku, Michinoku running into the corner and backflipping out of the hold, Michinoku with the rolling clutch roll-up, and scoring the upset!

Winner: TAKA Michinoku @ 5:48 [**1/2]

The crowd cheered as TAKA Michinoku celebrated his win, Marc Mero getting up and swinging for Michinoku with a knockout punch, but Michinoku slid out of the ring! TAKA was going to the quarter-finals to face the winner of D-Lo Brown and Owen Hart as Mero kicked off in the ring with Jacqueline. The theme of Sable then hit as she came out, telling Jacqueline that she loved embarrassing her last night, and she'll do it again and again if she has to! Sable got an applause, Mero and Jacqueline looking angry. Another image of Mr McMahon and Stone Cold Steve Austin getting ready was shown, and their epic WWF Championship match is coming up soon. -- Commercial Break --The crowd cheered as Terry Funk was in the ring as we returned to the War Zone. Funk stated that he'd like to thank everybody for the support. He really does love everybody in the World Wrestling Federation, and professional wrestling. He risked his career, and if it was worth it for a piece of gold called the WWF European Championship, he can only say yes. He reminds us of his success in the double-cross ranch, the territorial system and how Funk was one of the icons. His runs in the WWF and ECW, but last night was it for him, Triple H is a talented athlete, but he really does think last night should have gone down differently. Nonetheless, he concludes by saying farewell to all of us, the fans here in Rosemont Horizon giving him a prideful round of applause. Mr McMahon was on his way to the ring, and the WWF Championship main event was up next! -- Commercial Break --8) WWF Championship: Stone Cold Steve Austin (c) vs Vince McMahon |

This was the ultimate encounter, as the "Texas Rattlesnake" had been digging at Vince McMahon for so long, since last September when Austin first gave McMahon the Stunner live on RAW, this was about retribution for Vince. Ten long months of having Austin harass, humiliate and harm him for Vince to finally be able to hit Austin, and this all started when Vince applied to be referee in Austin's match with Kane last night at Over the Edge. Austin and McMahon locked up, the WWF Champion shoving McMahon down, and the two traded blows, Austin knocking McMahon down and stomping a mudhole in the Chairman's bunghole! The crowd were cheering him on, but suddenly the theme of D-Generation X hit and Austin tossed Vince over the top rope.

Winner: No Contest @ 1:57 [N/A]

Stone Cold Steve Austin threw the Chairman on the floor suspecting an attack from D-Generation X as a faction, and he stood motivated and waiting for them to arrive when suddenly Triple H slammed a steel chair into the spine of Steve Austin from behind! The WWF European Champion had came through the crowd to beat on Austin, as Triple H nailed a Pedigree on Stone Cold! The crowd booed as Jim Ross called Triple H the "Game". And what a game indeed. The War Zone went off the air.

Monday Night Raw: Austin, Kane, and HHH before Raw? Huh? Weird booking there imo. Austin vs McMahon, tonight? X-Pac over Blackman is good, hope you give him an IC title run. Shamrock losing the belt like that is a good idea, not too sure on the idea of D-Lo getting the title. New Age Outlaws are ing amazing. Whoa, did not expect Rotten and Mahoney to come in at all. I'm guessing you're starting a WWF-ECW partnership? Hopefully it'll be better than the real one. Double J vs Owen is a great idea, they'd have good chemistry considering their great friendship in reality. WarZone: Val Venis is possibly one of my favorite characters ever. I hope you book him over Severn next week. The Nation and Taker promos sounded great, hoping Taker gets a shot at the belt soon. Severn going over Faarooq is not my cup of tea, but it gives him a push after debuting him last night, I guess. Mero losing to TAKA is fine, if it further pisses Mero off. The Terry Funk good-bye speech was awesome, hope he comes back though. Funk for his 50th un-retirement please. The main event was expected tbh, I'm glad HHH is getting a bigger push though. Overall, a nicely booked show, DTP. Looking forward to next week!

THE BRIT REPORT Presented by Mike Potter on Thursday 4th June 1998
-- Over the Edge: In Your House wasn't bad. It had five good matches and four under average matches. Two of those under average matches should have been better. The show opened up with a decent NWA North American Heavyweight Championship match between Jeff Jarrett and Al Snow which finally featured the debut of Dan Severn, a former UFC fighter. TAFKA Goldust cut a weird worked shoot style promo where he abandoned the gimmick of Goldust and called himself 'Dustin Runnels'. Jacqueline beat Sable in a T&A-appealed evening gown match in a waste of time segment. Owen Hart beat X-Pac in a solid match where Owen exposed X-Pac's leg problems. The Rock beat Faarooq in an anti-climatic match in their feud spanning the past three months. It should have been on television, their chemistries don't mesh well. In one of the greatest matches this year drama wise, The Undertaker met Mankind in an intense Hardcore match, Mankind unveiled by Mick Foley for this show. Justin Bradshaw beat Ken Shamrock by disqualification in an awkward WWF Intercontinental Championship match. Shamrock could not wrestle well with the cast on. The disqualification finish also made Shamrock look weak, intentionally getting himself disqualified to avoid his hand injury becoming aggravating is good, but the fans weren't caring for that. The New Age Outlaws won a clustered four-corner WWF Tag Team Championship match to build their ego more. Triple H beat Terry Funk in an emotional rollercoaster of a match to retain the WWF European Championship in a dramatic I Quit bout. It's a shame that Funk will not keep with being retired. Lastly, Kane beat Steve Austin by disqualification after Vince McMahon rang the bell on Austin and attacked him. The brawl with Undertaker and Kane and Vince beating up on Austin is basically build for King of the Ring, safe to say.
-- RAW is WAR was a stacked show this week. The roster has been suffering from overclogging if anything. With four weeks to set up the King of the Ring tournament, this week and next week's episodes of RAW will feature four qualifying matches each. It was pretty difficult to keep up with the tournament. X-Pac and Steve Blackman was a decent match that would have been better if Chyna wasn't involved; if she's going to get involved with wrestlers, she needs to learn how to act. Dan Severn and Faarooq was a random burial of a man who was given a potential push up until Over the Edge. Severn worked pretty quickly for a big man, but he is past his prime. TAKA Michinoku and Marc Mero was a decent match which would have been better in 1996 (Mero in shape and at top quality). And in an average match, Val Venis beat Dustin Runnels, potentially ending this short storyline. Wonder what is next for Dustin. The main storyline to this show was Steve Austin challenging Vince McMahon to a match, and the controversy of the authority figure in action. It was an intriguing segment at the start of the show, and Commissioner Slaughter's promo with Vince was simply intense. In other happenings, The Undertaker called Vince McMahon out in a worked shoot style promo, but got Paul Bearer. A no holds barred match was set up for next week, which surely will be much more entertaining than their matches at WrestleMania XIV, Unforgiven and RAW last month. In other noteworthy action, the New Age Outlaws gave Too Much a shot at them, but the bout ended when ECW's Balls Mahoney and Axl Rotten interfered attacking the champions. Don't expect quality matches from them. Jeff Jarrett and Owen Hart had a well-wrestled match up until the finish. Cornette's supposed 'Dynasty' are now being known as the 'South'. In addition, D-Lo Brown won the WWF Intercontinental Championship out of the blue from an injured Ken Shamrock thanks to Justin Bradshaw. Would have been much better for D-Lo to have won it cleanly. He deserves the title anyway. Terry Funk staged a retirement speech, saying his farewells. He'll be back on the independent circuit shortly. Lastly, Steve Austin and Vince McMahon went to a draw when Triple H assaulted Stone Cold from behind.
-- Jose Estrada and the Minis were released yesterday due to WWF management having nothing for them to do. There is no word on why they decided to keep Jesus Castillo and other Minis, Max Mini, El Torito and Tarantula. More releases are on the way apparently.
-- Jeff Hardy from the Hardy brothers in OMEGA Wrestling has been silently making a debut on WWF television on Shotgun Saturday, failing to defeat Gangrel and showing so much tenacity, he finally earns the affection of the fans. It should be interesting where this run goes.
-- In the injury report, Ken Shamrock will be out of action for a month to two months with his hand injury. It occurred when Justin Bradshaw was meant to injure Shamrock's hand during a beatdown weeks back, but accidentally legitimately fractured his hand. Shamrock has been in agony but still working house shows, but dropped the Intercontinental title to D-Lo Brown strictly for injury purposes.
-- The dirtsheets have wrapped their heads around a potential dropped storyline that was planned for King of the Ring, where Jim Cornette's South faction got into a war with a face Nation. This scenario was dropped when its plans collided with the King of the Ring tournament situation.
-- WWF RAW beat WCW Nitro this week with a 4.5 rating to a 3.7 rating. This is probably the bump from Over the Edge, as well as the big boasted main event.
-- The WWF has King of the Ring on 06/28/98. The current card involves: - KOTR Finals - KOTR Semi-Finals - KOTR Semi-Finals

Good win for Jarrett to kick off Over the Edge. Not a big fan of Dan Severn debuting because I don’t see him having a lasting impact for this diary. I was actually surprised that Sable lost. Thank god Owen got a win! Seemed like he was losing all his big matches. Obvious that Rock would go over. Like that Mankind went over Taker, and I’m sure they would have a quality bout, as they usually did. I was really rooting for Bradshaw to win the title as he could’ve been elevated up the card as a heel contender. I liked the I Quit match and was very happy that HHH got the win since I’m sure Funk is retiring in your game. It was a nice match for Funk to go out on, I thought. I didn’t like the DQ finish to the main event. I don’t know what the proper solution would be since I’m sure you want Austin to have the title and not have Kane lose the match clean. Maybe some backfired interferneces would have worked. I don’t know, haha!
Overall, it seemed like a quality pay per view to me.
Decent start to RAW, I would’ve thought that Austin would at least try to attack McMahon for attacking him at the pay per view. Glad that X-Pac advanced in the KOTR. I really don’t like Brown winning the title. Bradshaw should’ve won it in a NO DQ rematch or something. I’m really bummed out that he didn’t win it. Nice to see Owen Hart back on a winning streak and Venis advancing in the KOTR is the right move. I really don’t have much interest in Kane/Taker. But, since it’s happening, Kane better f’n win. Would’ve liked Faarooq and Mero advance. Perhaps TAKA will be a underdog. I was getting worried about not seeing HHH on the show after beating Funk, and I love that he is getting interactions with Austin and I aligned with McMahon. Fantastic ending.

| WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 8th June 1998 |

Rockford, Illinois - Metro Centre

# | Dark Match | 1 | Edge def. Jerry Fox | 2 | Fatu def. Jordan Quinn | 3 | Steve Austin and The Undertaker def. Mankind and Triple H |

A ten bell salute with a graphic aired, showing the late, great Sylvester Ritter, who was better known to WWF fans as the Junkyard Dog; he passed away last Tuesday morning aged 47. A replay from last week on RAW is WAR aired, reviewing the situation where Stone Cold Steve Austin was to fight Mr McMahon in one of the most anticipated matches in RAW history, Austin hooking up with McMahon in a bout for the WWF Championship despite various conversations with Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco, as well as Commissioner Slaughter. But suddenly Triple H attacked Austin, the leader of D-Generation X leaving Austin down and out as RAW is WAR went off the air. The opening video package for RAW aired, and we cut to the Metro Centre for RAW is WAR! Jim Ross and Michael Cole introduce us to the show.1) King of the Ring Qualifying Match: Al Snow vs The Rock |

This was expected to be a hot opening contest, as Al Snow and The Rock battled in the first of four King of the Ring tournament matches tonight, and the winner of this one will go to face the winner of The Undertaker and Kane next week on RAW is WAR. Al Snow put up a great fight against the leader of the Nation, Snow catching Rock off-guard in the early moments of this bout, Snow working over the neck of Rock and hitting some high-offense moves, Rock sliding out of the ring wisely, and Rock took advantage as he dodged a plancha to the outside made by Snow! Rock delivered some blows to Snow and worked over the shoulder of the insane Al Snow, Rock nailing the running shoulder breaker and just getting overconfident, Rock confident that he would put Al in his place quite easily from this point on. Snow fired back though, as he blocked the Rock Bottom and nailed the Snowplow, Al about to succeed and go for the win but Brian Christopher and Scott Taylor of Too Much were at ringside! They stole Head and ran up the ramp, Snow looking angry as he turned around to get the Rock Bottom, giving Rock the win!

Winner: The Rock @ 5:34 [**1/2]

The crowd booed as The Rock celebrated his win, the "Brahma Bull" now into the quarter-final round of the King of the Ring tournament. Too Much stood on the rampway in laughter as Scott Taylor tossed Head back into the ring next to Al Snow.
A vignette aired, promoting the debut of the mysterious Edge. He will debut next Monday night on RAW is WAR!
-- Commercial Break --
We return to RAW as we were in the backstage area with the new WWF Intercontinental Champion, D-Lo Brown as Kevin Kelly was interviewing, asking D-Lo about last week. He says how many may consider what happened last week to be a fluke, but quite frankly, he doesn't care! He's sick and tired of having to fight his way to actually making progress here in the WWF. He is a member of the Nation, what a dominant faction they are. Him, Rock, Mark Henry and Kama Mustafa are four of the baddest in the World Wrestling Federation, and there is no denying that! D-Lo talked about how he knows that if he comes to having to face Rock in this King of the Ring tournament, it will be a competitive match, but what matters is the fact that tonight, he will be proving himself as a true champion against Owen Hart.
We go to Jim Ross and Michael Cole, as they promote what is still to come in this first hour of RAW, featuring comments from Triple H for what he did last week to Stone Cold Steve Austin; Yoshihiro Tajiri will defend the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship against Mr Aguila; Owen Hart and D-Lo Brown will compete in a King of the Ring Qualifying match, plus more!
We return to the Metro Centre as Val Venis is making his way to the ring, the "Big Valbowski" taking the microphone and introducing himself to the fans in attendance. He talks about how he's felt a rush for a long time now, right down to that nitty gritty! Venis talks about how he's in the next round of the King of the Ring tournament, and it's going to be three weeks until he's proclaimed the God among men. Because he already is the God among women, and he means that in a heterosexual way! Venis was quickly interrupted by the theme of Dan the "Beast" Severn as a nasty piece of work began to walk down the rampway.2) Dan Severn (w/Jim Cornette and Jeff Jarrett) vs Val Venis |

Val Venis was definitely in for a fight tonight against the "Beast", Dan Severn. Severn made his debut in the World Wrestling Federation nine days ago at Over the Edge aiding the NWA North American Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Jarrett in a title defense, and he then defeated Faarooq last week on RAW to advance into the King of the Ring tournament. These two men will face in the quarter-finals as well, but this was not to be a sanctioned King of the Ring tournament match. Venis tried to battle Severn with submissions and keep the "Beast" downed but the "Big Valbowski" found himself in trouble as Severn applied several submissions moves, basically trying to seperate the body functions of the "Big Valbowski"! The "Beast" tried to apply the Beast Choker but Venis somehow managed to fight it off, trying to go after the knee. But soon Jeff Jarrett jumped into the ring, randomly slamming the acoustic guitar of his into the knee of Val Venis!

Winner: Val Venis @ 4:12 by disqualification [**]

Val Venis was down as Jeff Jarrett stood over the "Big Valbowski", "Double J" grinning maliciously as Dan "the Beast" Severn got up, giving Venis a T-bone suplex. Jim Cornette cheered them on in their efforts, then saluting the crowd as his fabulous South faction had once again dominated here on RAW is WAR.
We see Triple H, the New Age Outlaws, Chyna and X-Pac arrive at the arena in the parking lot, and they seem quite confident, Triple H having something to say later on tonight regarding why he attacked Stone Cold Steve Austin!
-- Commercial Break --
We return to RAW as Gangrel was shown rising from under the stage on a platform full of candles and surrounded by flames. The Jackyl joined him as the combination stood in the dark, only the flames lighting them up. Jackyl talked holy about how he was going to bring us all a new oddity by the name of Edge! Jackyl talks about how for weeks we have heard about Edge...and so the second oddity is discovered! Jackyl then notes that he was also the man that raised Edge, and Edge should be grateful! He states that Darren Drozdov is another name that for some reason denies the claim of being his project. He made Drozdov what he was, from the NFL to the WWF. But his vanity is to be cheered by the fans and wear queer leather biker clothing instead of be superior to the cream of the crop here on the surface of the WWF. Jackyl promises change.
Mr McMahon arrived at the arena in the parking lot, stepping out of his limousine to be confronted by Commissioner Slaughter, Slaughter talking about how Vince planned to demoralise his own reputation as Chairman of the World Wrestling Federation tonight. McMahon told Slaughter not to push it, reminding him who Slaughter was talking to. Slaughter told McMahon that he still feels like he doesn't know Vince anymore. He's ego and power driven. That's not the prideful owner of the WWF he knew that destroyed the territory system in the 1980s.3) WWF Light Heavyweight Championship: Yoshihiro Tajiri (w/Yamaguchi) vs Mr Aguila |

This situation had been building up on Shotgun Saturday Night as Yoshihiro Tajiri, who had safely claimed the leadership of Kai En Tai position, proved himself against Mr Aguila on both Shotgun as well as the Free 4-All prior to the Over the Edge pay-per-view, but Aguila was still poised to face Tajiri, and this was his opportunity. Yamaguchi at ringside popped Aguila's bubble though, as he distracted Aguila twice, Aguila getting tired of the interference, and he dropkicked him off the apron! Aguila went on a roll of hurricanranas, then setting up for the corkscrew moonsault just for Tajiri to get his knees up! Tajiri stalked Aguila, and the Buzzsaw Kick connected! Tajiri hooked the legs for the victory.

Winner and STILL WWF Light Heavyweight Champion: Yoshihiro Tajiri @ 4:51 [**1/2]

Yoshihiro Tajiri celebrated his win to boos as TAKA Michinoku soon headed to ringside, and Michinoku grabbed Yamaguchi! TAKA shoved him down and dove at Tajiri, both men exchanging reversals of each other's move attempts! Michinoku seemed to still want the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship, but Tajiri decided not to return to the ring, instead Kai En Tai attacked Michinoku from behind! Shoichi Funaki, Dick Togo and Mens Teioh stood tall over Michinoku as Yamaguchi and Tajiri were amused.
Triple H was headed to the ring, and the leader of D-Generation X was not alone! They're up next.
-- Commercial Break --
We return to RAW as D-Generation X began to make their way down the rampway to a mixed reaction, Triple H garnering most heat from the crowd in Rockford, Triple H leading the New Age Outlaws out, X-Pac and Chyna slowly behind as Hunter stood in the ring and called himself the "Game". He mentioned about how he did what he did last week because he was the "Game". Triple H mentions how nobody will ever compare to him. He's been underestimated by the world. And D-Generation X are mere outcasts to many other WWF superstars. Road Dogg Jesse James claimed that it was nothing too personal, but Bad Ass Billy Gunn yelled that it was just a sign of being superior to everybody else! X-Pac talked about how DX joked about everybody and dominated everybody. Vince McMahon, or Brooklyn Brawler. Triple H noted that what happened last week was not a mere show of ego by DX. It was actually trying to avenge a loss that badly hurt DX last time around, reminding us of WrestleMania XIV and how Stone Cold Steve Austin took Shawn Michaels out of action and cost him to have back treatment instead of remaining in DX and a part of the World Wrestling Federation. Triple H says that it's all on Stone Cold's head, and everybody may want a shot at the "Texas Rattlesnake", but it's all about the WWF Championship! Hunter notes that it was awful having Shawn Michaels as WWF Champion, and how much he used to patronize and criticise his own team members. Gunn vowed that there'd be no more of this hopefully. Hunter talks about how Stone Cold Steve Austin is a cash pinata. He's filled with goodness, and he's just waiting to bash him open. Hunter talks about how he's hunting Austin down for the WWF Championship, and he honestly can't wait for King of the Ring, because the following man has handed him a WWF Championship opportunity! Mr McMahon walked out to the ring to a loud crowd of boos, the Chairman surrounded by security as McMahon asked Triple H how he was. Hunter talks about how he apologises for everything DX did to him, because the fact of the matter is, they just want the glory. Vince tells them to say no more; they struggled without Shawn Michaels, but tonight onwards, D-Generation X can count on the McMahon family for anything! McMahon talks about how Steve Austin is a moderate fighting champion, but he wants him to face a great specimen of talent and control, Triple H on June 28th at King of the Ring. And what he's going to do is hand DX these security guards because everybody knows that Stone Cold will try and jump his number one contender unfairly! The crowd booed as McMahon crotch chopped with DX, RAW going off the air.

The opening video package to the War Zone aired, as we cut to the Rockford Metro Centre for the second hour of RAW is WAR! Jim Ross and Jerry the "King" Lawler introduce us to the show.
We return to the ring as the New Age Outlaws were in the ring without security, Billy Gunn talking about how they don't need security to beat these bozos up, but they're waiting with handcuffs if they want to mess. Road Dogg Jesse James talks about how last week they were attacked by another pair of ECW invaders, Balls Mahoney and Axl Rotten, and they are the most out of shape wrestlers they have ever seen! The New Age Outlaws joke about how they wanted a challenge to being the best team in the WWF, but being faced by hardcore fat freaks like supposedly "big" Balls and "angry" Axl is an insult to the WWF Tag Team Champions! Nonetheless, they vow to get this over with.4) Non-Title, Hardcore Match: The New Age Outlaws vs Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney |

The ECW invaders mixed it up with the WWF Tag Team Champions in a hardcore tag team match; all four men legal men and the first fall would have given us a decisive victor. The New Age Outlaws were caught off guard by the unorthodox stylings of Balls Mahoney and Axl Rotten as Rotten and Mahoney had steel chairs in their hands less than twenty seconds into it, immediately intimidating the WWF Tag Team Champions. Billy Gunn and Jesse James attempted to run away from the ECW tag team but Balls and Axl grabbed them and brought them back to the ring. Balls nailed a scoop slam piledriver known as the "Nutcracker Suite" on Road Dogg and went for the pinfall but Billy Gunn nailed Balls in the back of the head with the steel chair! Gunn nailed the FameAsser onto a chair and scored the victory.

Winners: The New Age Outlaws @ 4:47 [*1/2]

The New Age Outlaws celebrated their win to loud boos as Billy Gunn and Jesse James quickly slid out of the ring and getting out of here as WWF Tag Team Champions, Bad Ass and Road Dogg then met with a huge problem by the likes of ECW's Dudley Boyz! Buh Buh Ray, D-Von and Big Dick Dudley confronted the WWF Tag Team Champions, Buh Buh and D-Von attacking Billy and Jesse! D-Von took care of James as Buh Buh picked Billy Gunn up and gave him a massive powerbomb off of the edge of the stage ten feet to the floor through three tables! The fans chanted 'ECW' as ANOTHER tag team had arrived in the World Wrestling Federation from Extreme Championship Wrestling!
An advertisement aired, promoting the debut of a new WWF television show known as WWF Sunday Night HeAT; and it will air every Sunday night from 6PM Eastern on USA Network, beginning on Sunday, July 5th 1998!
-- Commercial Break --5) King of the Ring Qualifying Match: D-Lo Brown vs Owen Hart |

This was a hard-hitting match as expected, D-Lo Brown should not have been expecting a walk in the park, especially against a man by the likes of the "Black Hart", Owen. Owen Hart was poised to make it two King of the Ring victories after another, of course winning the 1994 King of the Ring tournament. Owen started off strong, making the new WWF Intercontinental Champion on the verge of losing, D-Lo somehow managing to fire back with some heavy lefts and rights, regaining momentum with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Brown worked over the "Black Hart" and his back, obviously perhaps to ensure himself that the Sharpshooter would not be applied. Brown soon decided that it was time to wrap the match up, D-Lo going for the Frog Splash but Owen moved! Owen set up the Sharpshooter just for Brown to kick him away, Brown headed for the Sky High perhaps but Owen ran back with a dropkick and Brown flew to the ringside area! Owen dove out of the ring with a plancha, Owen then being struck with the WWF Intercontinental Championship by D-Lo!

Winner: Owen Hart @ 7:31 [**1/2]

The crowd booed as D-Lo Brown stood tall when suddenly Steve Blackman jogged to the ring, giving D-Lo the Martial Arts Kick! The "Lethal Weapon" signalled interest in the WWF Intercontinental Championship, as Blackman attended to Owen, Owen Hart now going to the quarter finals to face TAKA Michinoku!
In the backstage area we see Triple H with X-Pac and Chyna, the trio talking about how bad things had happened to the New Age Outlaws without security around them, and how they need to keep with security to avoid incident. The "Game" stood with X-Pac and Chyna behind security, X-Pac talking about how he needed to use the bathroom, Hunter telling a security guard to follow him in. The guard went in first, and the guard was heard in pain, then tossed out into a wall! D-Generation X high-tailed it as Stone Cold Steve Austin stepped into the corridor, pleased with himself!
-- Commercial Break --
Marc Mero was shown with Jacqueline in a backstage dressing room, Jacqueline and "Marvelous" Marc enjoying RAW is WAR tonight, Mero then asked by Jacqueline what he wants to see more than anything. Mero smiled, telling Jackie that he'd love to see Sable just being beaten in the middle of that ring, chained to Jacqueline and humiliated live. Jacqueline tells Mero that if that's his fantasy, then it will be fulfilled! She told Marc that she'd make it a deal, next Monday night on RAW is WAR!
We return to the War Zone as Jim Cornette was standing by with Jeff Jarrett, Cornette mentioning the recent domination on display by the South. He states how they've been getting more aggressive, because it's a damn fact that they are a bunch of the most underrated WWF superstars in the company today! Cornette tells us that 1998 is the year of "Double J", and it continues tonight when he starts the journey to winning the King of the Ring tournament!6) King of the Ring Qualifying Match: Jeff Jarrett (w/Jim Cornette) vs Darren Drozdov (w/Skull and 8-Ball) |

This was bound to start a riot as Jeff Jarrett, the NWA North American Heavyweight Champion fought the unique Darren Drozdov in the seventh qualifying match in the King of the Ring tournament, "Double J" seemingly wanting to get this match over and done with as soon as possible, but Drozdov did not allow it, Darren Drozdov with several shoulder blocks, in control of the NWA Champion with his mix of agility and power. Drozdov soon set up for the spear, but Jarrett kneed him right in the cranium! Jarrett stomped on Drozdov as the Mid-South Connection snuck up on the Disciples of the Apocalypse, Bob Holly and Bart Gunn in a brawl with Skull and 8-Ball! This distracted the official and Cornette got into the ring, slamming Drozdov with the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship! Jarrett nailed the Stroke and that was all she wrote!

Winner: Jeff Jarrett @ 4:17 [**]

Jeff Jarrett celebrated his win before 8-Ball and Skull got into the ring, Skull trading blows with Jeff Jarrett! Darren Drozdov remained down and out of it as "Double J" bailed, Bart Gunn and Bob Holly attacking Skull and 8-Ball again! The Mid-South Connection started beating on Skull and 8-Ball, Dan the "Beast" Severn arriving and joining in on the beating by the South on the DOA before Faarooq hit the ring with a steel chair, the South choosing to bail from the ring! Faarooq attended to the DOA members as J.R. and the King hyped the main event; Undertaker and Kane in no holds barred, next!
An advertisement aired, promoting the King of the Ring; live on pay-per-view on Sunday, June 28th 1998 from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
-- Commercial Break --
We go to the parking lot where Triple H, X-Pac and Chyna were, D-Generation X with security as they headed for the DX limousine, Stone Cold Steve Austin out there as he took out three of the security guards! The WWF Champion got rid of them, as X-Pac dove at Austin, Austin shoving him off, Chyna also getting involved and it was three-on-one on the "Texas Rattlesnake"! Austin shoved Chyna out of the way and tossed X-Pac into a steel shutter, Triple H and Austin trading blows before Austin low blowed Hunter, opening the limousine door and laying Triple H out, then shoving him inside and slamming the door shut! Austin headed back to the arena, the security and DX laid out.7) King of the Ring Qualifying; No Holds Barred Match: The Undertaker vs Kane (w/Paul Bearer) |

Bound to be a barbaric main event, as the "Lord of Darkness" and the "Big Red Machine", the Brothers of Destruction mixed it up once again here on RAW is WAR. Kane and Undertaker traded blows in the center, Kane leading 'Taker to ringside where Kane attempted to put Undertaker down with a Tombstone Piledriver on the thin mat padding at ringside, Undertaker firing back and even laying Paul Bearer out! The "Phenom" wanted revenge for everything Bearer and Kane had done, without a doubt. Undertaker set up a Chokeslam on Kane but Kane grabbed 'Taker by the throat too, both men falling over the guard railing, and the match started to head into the crowd! Undertaker attempted the Tombstone onto bare concrete in the crowd, and later 'Taker nailed Old School off of a barricade in the audience, the "Deadman" soon nailing the Chokeslam onto technical equipment, Kane was down and out! Undertaker covered Kane in this anything goes battle, 'Taker lighting a match and he set Kane's arm on fire! Kane was screaming in agony as his arm was engulfed in a flame, headed to the backstage area!

Winner: No Contest @ 8:23 [**]

The Undertaker stood, satisfied with himself before Mankind suddenly appeared from the tier, applying the Mandible Claw on the "Deadman"! The man that beat Undertaker at Over the Edge before disappearing was back tonight on RAW is WAR, and Mick Foley made 'Taker pass out, Mankind standing tall in the crowd, the War Zone going off the air!

RAW -
Happy you did the JYD tribute. Very nice addition to the show.
Decent opener, with the right man going over. I'm predicting a Rock victory in the KOTR final. Too Much!
Very much looking forward to Edge's debut. Can't wait to see how you use him.
Don't like D'Lo as IC Champion. However, I sense some sort of Nation breakdown in the pipeline with the mention of a D'Lo/Rock encounter.
Nice Venis promo before his match with Severn. I feel more could have been done with "The Beast". This DQ encounter will add feul to the fire that is there KOTR match. Great booking there. Dislike Venis' submission approach to this match. Doesn't seem like his style. I'd expect him to be cocky, evasive and infuriating for Severn, who'd snap and try to take him out at every turn with his own no-nonsense style. Loved Jarrett's interference.
Loved the Jackyl's promo, laying the groundwork for Edge's debut. Edge vs. Gangrel, then. Perhaps, Edge/Droz vs. Gangrel, leading to the eventual debut of Christian?
I see this as the start of the downfall of Sgt. Slaughter as Commissioner. He's pretty useless at this point with the emergence of the Mr. McMahon character.
Decent title defense from Tajiri, and a nice, exciting final bout to end the first hour.
Seemed like a long-winded promo from Triple H. I'd expect it to be less serious in tone and more of a mockery of Austin. I love the fact that you've booked Austin/Triple H for the belt at KOTR. Sounds like a fantastic main event and fitting for this period.
Never liked the association with ECW. Hope you stop their exposure, tbh. Decent win for the Outlaws. Dudleyz debut? I like it, but only if it leads to them staying permanently.
Owen going over is fine with me. The ending was a little confusing. Was it a DQ finish?
I loved the little Austin appearance in the bathroom... that sounds wrong. Oh well. Good booking.
Jackie and Sable should be great development for the feud involving Marvelous Marc.
Hmmm. Jarrett going over is fine. I think it could have been helped with Val Venis returning the favour for Jarrett's attack on him earlier in the show.
I think the main event was excellent. Great brawl between 'Taker and Kane. The ending made complete sense and is fantastic for their feud. The use of fire was excellent. Mankind make an appearance is also great, though I dislike the use of the Mandible Claw to put The Undertaker out. I'd expect something a lot more brutal. It makes sense following a brutal fight between Undertaker and Kane. You don't want to let the fans down with something that doesn't quite follow up to the segment before it. Besides, Foley is much more brutal than a Mandible Claw attack.
A pretty decent episode. Keep up the good work!

THE BRIT REPORT Presented by Mike Potter on Thursday 11th June 1998
-- RAW is WAR was an alright show, although it was exposed by the packed nature of the fact we had to cram in four King of the Ring tournament matches with other storylines. The four matches were better than last week's episode of RAW anyways; Al Snow and The Rock had a good match as did Owen Hart and D-Lo Brown (although it didn't really do too much for the new WWF Intercontinental Champion they are building), The Undertaker and Kane was dramatic, but not that good and never given an actual finish (we're expecting a bye at this point, but we can never tell), Mankind returned and attacked Undertaker afterwards. Darren Drozdov and Jeff Jarrett was acceptable, but average. In other occurrences on the show, Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney completed their task of putting ECW over in their entertaining rivalry with the New Age Outlaws (the 'best tag team in the promotion' being attacked by outsider tag teams is a brilliant concept, especially from ECW) in a dire hardcore tag team match. The Dudley Boyz debuted, Buh Buh Ray, D-Von and Big Dick destroying the Outlaws quickly. At least Dudleys/Outlaws will be better than Rotten and Mahoney/Outlaws. The South attacked Drozdov and the DOA just for Faarooq to make the save in a decent spot. I'm assuming there'll be an eight man tag team situation at King of the Ring. Val Venis and Dan Severn fought in a match that will take place in a tournament bout next week; sort've pointless. But the action was surprising; both meshed quite nicely. It was still an average match though. Mr Aguila and Yoshihiro Tajiri's match was decent, but Aguila is still green, learning and sloppy in the ring. In promos, the show involved Mr McMahon with some more tension with Commissioner Slaughter, and his siding with D-Generation X against Steve Austin was expected. Austin got payback on Hunter; it was an entertaining series of skits, but a Diet Cola version of Austin vs HBK.
-- As featured on RAW is WAR, Sylvester Ritter passed away last Tuesday morning after falling asleep at the wheel of his car coming home from his daughter's high-school graduation and crashing. Ritter was better known to WWF and NWA fans as the Junkyard Dog; perhaps one of the greatest WWF superstars never to win a WWF Championship, the JYD was loved by many in the 1980s.
-- As revealed on RAW is WAR, a vignette aired promoting Sunday Night HeAT as the WWF's new Sunday night television show on USA Network. It will hopefully help out the work flow of the stacked RAW episodes in recent weeks.
- ECW's relationship with the WWF will be ending in September, as Paul Heyman feels like they have benefited a lot from the past several months with the WWF. ECW has helped build WWF superstars as well as WWF make ECW wrestlers and ECW as a promotion more recognised. The storyline with ECW invaders and the New Age Outlaws is expected to end at SummerSlam, but it is receiving rave reviews.
-- Apparently the World Wrestling Federation have ordered construction on a Hell in a Cell...we can only assume to see Mankind vs The Undertaker in Hell in a Cell, which beating 'Taker vs Shawn Michaels from last October, will be nearly impossible.
-- WWF RAW beat WCW Nitro this week with a 4.26 rating to 4.12. Very even.
-- The WWF has King of the Ring on 06/28/98. The current card involves: - Steve Austin vs Triple H for the WWF Championship - KOTR Finals - KOTR Semi-Finals - KOTR Semi-Finals
-- In results from New Japan's Budokan Hall show on 06/05/98: - Tatsumi Fujinami def. Shinya Hashimoto to retainthe IWGP title - Masahiro Chono & Hiroyoshi Tenzan def. Shiro Koshinaka & Genichiro Tenryu to win the IWGP Tag Team titles - Don Frye def. Yoshiaki Fujiwara - Jushin Liger, El Samurai, Hayato Nanjyo, Kendo Ka Shin & Yuji Yasuraoka def. Koji Kanemoto, Shinjiro Otani, Tatsuhito Takaiwa, Masakazu Fukuda & Shiryu in an elimination tag team match
-- In results from RAW is WAR on 06/08/98: - The Rock def. Al Snow in a KOTR Qualifying match - Val Venis def. Dan Severn by DQ - Yoshihiro Tajiri def. Mr Aguila to retain the WWF Light Heavyweight title - The New Age Outlaws def. Axl Rotten & Balls Mahoney - Owen Hart def. D-Lo Brown in a KOTR Qualifying match - Jeff Jarrett def. Darren Drozdov in a KOTR Qualifying match - The Undertaker vs Kane in a KOTR Qualifying No Holds Barred match.

Chris Benoit - Fit Finley def. Norman Smiley to retain the WCW World Television title - Dean Malenko def. Disco Inferno - Goldberg def. Chavo Guerrero Jr
-- The King of the Ring tournament line-up currently consists of: 06/15/98 RAW - The Rock vs The Undertaker/Kane - Owen Hart vs TAKA Michinoku 06/22/98 RAW - Dan Severn vs Val Venis - X-Pac vs Jeff Jarrett 06/28/98 King of the Ring - Rock/Taker vs Venis/Severn - X-Pac/Jarrett vs Owen/TAKA - Final

Raw is War
Sorry for slacking off with replies lately. Nice tribute for JYD here. Rock advancing in the KOTR is best. I guess you're going with Too Much vs. Al Snow/Head. That ending to the match was amusing. Dan Severn versus Val Venis is a little random, since they are just going to wrestle again next week. I hope we get some JJ/Val Venis matches out of that finish. Edge will probably join Jackyl and co., but then Christian will debut and they'll kick out Jackyl to form The Brood. Droz has never interested me, really. Looks like Vince will fire Sgt. Slaughter soon. Yoshihiro Tajiri winning in what would be a decent match is good. Hopefully you put some meaning into the division other than Michinoku. Good DX/McMahon promo. Hopefully DX or Vince turns on one another after the Stone Cold/Triple H feud. Outlaws winning was the better move, of course. Dudley Boyz, with Big Dick? Awesome. Awesome spot with the power bomb, too. Ironic how they debut at the same exact time for the both of us. Yes, Sunday Night HeAT is a great way to showcase more talent rather than that terrible Shotgun Saturday Night show. D-Lo losing by DQ in his first match as champion just hurts him. Steve Blackman versus D-Lo Brown will be decent at best. Lmao at Austin in the bathroom, beating up the guard. I could completely see him doing that. Interested in the Mero/Jackie segment. I really hope JJ wins the IC (or European) by the end of the year. Jeff Jarrett with the win is best. Tbh, I could see the D.O.A. killing The Mid-South Connection. Dan Severn is great backup for them, though. Yay, Faarooq is doing something! Like the brawl between Austin and DX. Austin fighting them off is good. Great main event with Kane/Taker III. Taker setting Kane's arm on fire is crazy. I'm guessing Rock will get a bye, only to be defeated by Owen Hart in the finals. I could see Rock winning, though. Good close to the show with Mick Foley taking out Undertaker. Exciting show, with some interesting twists.

| WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 15th June 1998 |

San Antonio, Texas - Freeman Coliseum

A replay from last week's episode of RAW is WAR aired, reviewing the dramatic battle between The Undertaker and Kane which would end in a no contest following Undertaker setting Kane on fire. Mankind then attacked 'Taker, Mankind putting the "Lord of Darkness" to sleep. The opening video package for RAW aired, as we go to the live arena in
The crowd booed as the piano theme of the maniacal Mankind hit, Mankind limping down the rampway, no TitanTron, no lights but a mere spotlight guiding him to the ring. Mankind rolled into the ring as a microphone was alright laid out in preparation as we were about to hear from the schitzophrenic man himself. Mankind talked about how he has evolved once again. We all saw this at Over the Edge three weeks ago, and it's all on the Undertaker's back! Mankind talks about how he could have been World Wrestling Federation Champion today and happy, but Undertaker had to take that away from him! Mankind talks about how 'Taker's at least had a WWF title reign, and how Mankind dies inside with the fact that he has never held the title! Mankind mentions how he could live with the fact that he is not, but all these fans care to chant is Stone Cold Steve Austin's name! The fans began to chant 'Austin' as Mankind began to rip at his hair, the spotlight still being the only lighting in the arena. Mankind talks about how he will bleed to become WWF Champion, and he will suffer everything to become WWF Champion. Just like he has since he joined this damned company two years ago! Mr McMahon interrupted as the crowd booed, the Chairman walking to the ring with Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco. McMahon got into the ring with the Stooges as he asked Mick Foley what he was doing, and to get a hold of himself! He tells Mankind that who he was three weeks ago was a good thing, and had WWF Championship material all over him! Mankind tells Vince to shut up, stating that he prefers Kane and it's so obvious. Mankind tells Vince he wanted a shot, and now he hasn't got that shot, he's lost. Vince tells Mankind that he can redeem himself to Mick, if he bares with him, promising title gold for the demented Mankind. Suddenly, the theme of The Undertaker hit as the crowd cheered, the "Deadman" stepping onto the rampway and headed for the ring quickly, Undertaker getting into the ring and talking about how he deserves a title shot at last. Mankind randomly started striking 'Taker, both men fighting back and forth! Vince was stuck trying to stay away from the two warriors as Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco got taken out by 'Taker! Mankind went for the Mandible Claw but 'Taker nailed the Chokeslam on him, Mankind bailing! 'Taker then grabbed Vince McMahon by the throat, Chokeslam connecting! The Undertaker stood over the Chairman, but will this cost 'Taker big time!?
-- Commercial Break --
We return to RAW as a replay from moments ago aired, where a brawl broke out between The Undertaker and Mankind, 'Taker clearing house of Mankind and then giving the Chairman the Chokeslam!
In the backstage area Mr McMahon was being attended to by Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco as McMahon vowed to get retribution on the Undertaker tonight! Commissioner Slaughter was then shown, as he told Vince that Kane has been taken out of the ring due to being set on fire last Monday night on the War Zone, and thus he is putting the "Deadman" through to the quarter-final round in the King of the Ring tournament! McMahon looked angry as Patterson and Brisco took him away.
1) King of the Ring Quarter-Final Match: Owen Hart vs TAKA Michinoku |

This match would put TAKA Michinoku on the map so well if he came out victorious in this effort against a former multi-time WWF Tag Team and Intercontinental Champion, the "Black Hart". Owen Hart the veteran fought Michinoku in hope of him successfully winning his second King of the Ring tournament, the first being in 1994. But for TAKA, it was about impressin everybody and being the true underdog in the tournament. The winner of this goes to face the winner of X-Pac and Jeff Jarrett at the King of the Ring event in two weeks time, but this meant so much to the former WWF Light Heavyweight Champion, going for the lower body of the "Black Hart" whilst in the form of athletic and agile ability. Michinoku gave Owen quite a fight as he had the crowd going for him actually, Michinoku soon attempting the Michinoku Driver but Yamaguchi arrived at ringside. Michinoku went to springboard from the apron into the ring but Dick Togo dragged him back to the apron, Michinoku kicking him away. Michinoku sprung at Owen but he caught him in the Sharpshooter, Michinoku tapping!

Winner: Owen Hart @ 7:17 [**3/4]

The crowd cheered as Owen Hart celebrated his win, Mens Teioh and Shoichi Funaki trying to jump the "Black Hart", Kai En Tai trying to gang up on Owen Hart! Hart fired out however, enziguri to Funaki and a clothesline to Teioh. Hart tried the Sharpshooter on Yamaguchi but Yoshihiro Tajiri got into the ring, spraying the mist into the eyes of Owen! The WWF Light Heavyweight Champion dashed with Yamaguchi, Owen blinded by that poisonous green mist! Kai En Tai had dodged another situation tonight, Owen wiping his eyes. Jim Ross and Michael Cole talked about what was still to come in our first hour of RAW is WAR tonight, still scheduled to hear from Ken Shamrock; expecting to see the debut of the mysterious Edge, D-Lo Brown defending the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Steve Blackman, and in our next King of the Ring quarter-final match, The Rock faces The Undertaker! -- Commercial Break --Stone Cold Steve Austin is in the parking lot as Kevin Kelly catches up with the WWF Champion, the "Texas Rattlesnake" asked about if he is concerned at all knowing about how D-Generation X are going to be on his back after last week. Austin mentions how Triple H is a cocky bastard that needs shutting up, and he'll be pleased to do it in two weeks, but tonight he has to face X-Pac, whoever that is, and he's going to lay X-Pac out and stomp a mudhole in his ass, because he's Stone Cold Steve Austin and he doesn't need to hide behind guys like Triple H does! Austin finishes his can of Steveweiser before leaving. We go to the home of Ken Shamrock as earlier this week Jim Ross headed down to San Diego, California to see the former WWF Intercontinental Champion, J.R. asking the "World's Most Dangerous Man" about the condition of his hand, and his mental mind state since losing the title two weeks ago on RAW is WAR. Shamrock talks about how he's been a UFC fighter and, that could potentially be over if he ever decided to go back to that sport. But he's a man that handles things in the ring, the octagon, whatever. He will fight someone and make them suffer. But he's lost some motivation. Shamrock tells us that he'll be back when his hand is healed in a month or so, but he's really going to have to try and find who he is again, because wrestling has become a chore knowing guys like Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw are breathing down his neck. We return to RAW as Brian Christopher and Scott Taylor stood in the ring to loud boos, Too Much standing and talking about how they have taken care of business in recent weeks. Christopher claims that they are at the top of their game, and they don't need the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship! Taylor mentions how they are the next greatest tag team; their attempt at fighting the WWF Tag Team Champions two weeks ago on RAW is WAR, they were proud of! A great opportunity is here for them, and as the young lions, they will not only become the most attractive team in the World Wrestling Federation, but they will take out anybody to become bigger stars. Because they are two of the purest athletes in the WWF today! The theme of Al Snow then hit to a loud ovation, Snow coming out with Head, Snow asking Too Much if they were insane because, Al Snow and Head is the greatest team. Snow kept putting the microphone to Head's mouth as Snow then agreed with him, Snow definitely having a screw loose. Snow resumed the method, as Snow then asked if Head was thinking about a tag team match at King of the Ring! Christopher told Snow to bring it, and to bring a friend, because they don't want to make it look like two guys beating a hasbeen! The crowd booed as Snow headed for the ring with Head, Too Much escaping! -- Commercial Break --We go to the backstage area as Dok Hendrix was standing by with the leader of the Nation, The Rock as Rock asked Hendrix if that was his real name, or whether the working man had been dropped from being one of the most popular faces of the 1980s in professional wrestling! Rock talks about how he's in the quarter-finals of the King of the Ring tournament; and that means he has to get through three more jabronis to win the tournament and become 'King'. Rock states that he was fit to be royalty, because everybody else that walks around here looks like death, and he means The Undertaker! He tells 'Taker to bondage up because tonight, Rock will shove the "Deadman"'s hand where the sun don't shine, if you smell what the Rock is cooking! 2) Edge vs Darren Drozdov (w/Skull) |

This was an interesting match as for the past two months we have been awaiting the debut of a mysterious character by the name 'Edge'. Edge, a man that fights in Subways and seems to be an anti-hero of sorts did battle with a member of the Disciples of the Apocalypse, Darren Drozdov. And Drozdov seemed dazed, suffering a concussion at the hands of the South last week on the War Zone. One thing that these two had in common is the fact that The Jackyl mentioned both of their names as 'oddities' last week on RAW, interesting coincidence. Edge nailed Drozdov with several high-flying moves, a spinning wheel kick and several clotheslines connecting. Edge came off the top rope with a Spear before Edge set up for the flatliner (known as the 'Downward Spiral') but Drozdov fired back with several shots. Drozdov went for the Spear but Edge tossed him out of the ring, Darren landing on his head! Drozdov was down and dazed, Edge climbing out of the ring and helping Darren back into the ring, nailing the Downward Spiral for the win!

Winner: Edge @ 4:09 [**]

The crowd cheered as Edge celebrated his win, Darren Drozdov still laid down in the ring. Skull attended to Drozdov as he seemed to be in a different timezone. Gangrel's theme then hit as Edge headed up the rampway, Gangrel and the Jackyl rising from underneath the stage on a platform surrounded by candles and fire, Edge denying the fire; impressive debut! We see D-Generation X in their limousine as X-Pac was seated, laughing about how tonight he seems to have a hard task ahead of him facing the "Texas Rattlesnake" Stone Cold Steve Austin. But it seems more to him that it will be a mere walk in the park! Triple H grins, talking about how he's two weeks from becoming WWF Champion; becoming ultimate dream World Champion; what Vince McMahon loves, what the WWF boys and girls love. It will be perfect. The New Age Outlaws join in as well, Billy Gunn talking about how last week they were 'extra hurt' with thanks to these Dudley Boyz randomers, Jesse James telling them that this is DX's night off as far as they're concerned. The night where their dominance looks over all. Chyna remains silent, still looking intimidating as we cut away. 3) WWF Intercontinental Championship: D-Lo Brown (c) vs Steve Blackman |

The "Lethal Weapon" jumped D-Lo Brown last Monday night on RAW is WAR after D-Lo Brown's match, and Brown was offering to simply give Blackman a WWF Intercontinental Championship opportunity. A back-and-forth match jam packed with technical moves, Blackman trying to go after the arm for the guillotine choke, whereas Brown tried to weaken the shoulder taking away some pressure from the guillotine choke's strength. Brown got overconfident, not such a surprise for the Nation these days, Brown obviously having been brought up with some of the most solid performers in the WWF, The Rock and former World Champion Faarooq. Brown soon found himself in danger as Blackman nailed the Martial-Arts Kick, Brown rolling onto the apron and poking Blackman in the eys, Brown with a face-first suplex from the apron, Brown going up and nailing the Frog Splash for the three!

Winner and STILL WWF Intercontinental Champion: D-Lo Brown @ 5:23 [**1/2]

The crowd booed as D-Lo Brown celebrated his win, the WWF Intercontinental Champion quickly rolling out of the ring, telling people that they should recognise D-Lo Brown. An advertisement aired, promoting the main event of RAW, The Rock going up against The Undertaker in a King of the Ring quarter-final match! -- Commercial Break --4) King of the Ring Quarter-Final Match: The Rock vs The Undertaker |

The Undertaker was definitely taken over by rage after a brawl with Mankind at the top of the program followed by even giving the Chairman of the World Wrestling Federation a Chokeslam. The Rock was also hyped up, this was potentially his biggest challenge to date going up against the mean veteran, the "Lord of Darkness" taking the leader of the Nation down several times in the opening moments of this bout, Rock soon going low and heading for the legs, getting the "Deadman" off of his feet and keeping him off of his feet. The "Phenom" soon fired back though, as Rock tried the Sharpshooter, 'Taker fired out and Rock retalliated, trying to get 'Taker down but he continuously overpowered Rock and nailed him with the Old School! The Undertaker prepared the Tombstone Piledriver but Rock was able to slip out. Rock nailed the Rock Bottom and almost had the three count but 'Taker kicked out at the last second! Undertaker fired back as he bounced off the ropes, flying at Rock with a flying clothesline but Rock put the official in the way! Rock nailed a low blow on 'Taker and nailed the Rock Bottom again, setting up the Rock Bottom but 'Taker reversed and nailed the Chokeslam! That's when Mankind suddenly came from under the ring, steel chair to the spine of the "Deadman"! Mankind nailed the Double Arm DDT onto the chair, Rock covering for a slow three count!

Winner: The Rock @ 7:23 [**1/4]

The Rock celebrated his win as he rolled out of the ring, the Undertaker sitting up just for Mankind to nail the "Deadman" in the face with the steel chair! Mankind stomped on 'Taker as Mr McMahon came out to the rampway, happy with the situation. He said that he was wrong about Mick Foley's behavior. And at King of the Ring, 'Taker and Mankind can fight once again! Inside Hell in a Cell! The crowd cheered as Mankind applied the Mandible Claw to loud boos, Mankind refusing to leave, RAW going off the air.

The opening video package to War Zone aired, as we cut to the live Freeman Center in San Antonio for the second hour of RAW is WAR tonight, Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler on commentary, but first they replay what happened in the closing moments of RAW, Mankind costing The Undertaker his place in the King of the Ring semi-finals and assaulting 'Taker, Mr McMahon making a Hell in a Cell match for King of the Ring in two weeks between the two.
5) Non-Title Match: Stone Cold Steve Austin (c) vs X-Pac (w/Chyna) |

An explosive start to the second hour of RAW is WAR, the "Texas Rattlesnake" hell bent on trying to gain momentum in the feud with D-Generation X, as Steve Austin showed not one bit of love for the very much smaller X-Pac, Stone Cold pounding on X-Pac without giving him a single chance at re cooperating, the match reaching ringside as Austin got in Chyna's face at one point, X-Pac wisely kicking Steve in the back of the head! X-Pac went after Austin with several kicks, soon after preparing the Bronco Buster on Austin, the embarrassing move blocked as Austin kicked X-Pac in the gut as he came at him, Austin with the Lou Thesz Press and he set up for the Stunner, Steve instead having Chyna club him in the back of the head with a big forearm!

Winner: Stone Cold Steve Austin @ 5:43 by disqualification [**1/4]

Stone Cold Steve Austin was pounded on by Chyna before the WWF Champion retaliated, shoving Chyna away and clotheslining the "Ninth Wonder of the World", the "Texas Rattlesnake" blocking the X-Factor attempt by X-Pac and X-Pac got Stunned! The crowd cheered as Austin stood tall, raising the middle fingers to the camera! We cut to the limousine as Triple H sat alone watching Stone Cold Steve Austin practically give him the middle fingers, the leader of D-Generation X mentioning that Austin would get it later tonight. --- Commercial Break --We return to the War Zone as Jim Ross and Jerry "the King" Lawler promoted what was still to come in the second hour of RAW is WAR, scheduled to view a segment with "Sexual Chocolate" and "The Godfather", Mark Henry and Kama Mustafa, plus we will see the Dudley Boyz' in ring debut officially against the Quebecers; the Mid-South Connection face the Headbangers; Sable against Jacqueline in a chain match, and Triple H will apparently call out Stone Cold Steve Austin! In the ring Jim Cornette stood with the Mid-South Connection and Jeff Jarrett, Cornette revealing that he and the South have decided that they will continue to raise hell on the World Wrestling Federation until they meet his requests, and if that means that Jeff Jarrett will give every WWF superstar a shot with the guitar twice over, so be it! 6) The Mid-South Connection vs The Headbangers |

Jeff Jarrett and Jim Cornette joined commentary for this match as "Double J" talked about how he was being mistreated very much by the WWF management, in that his NWA North American Heavyweight Championship is simply thrown out in matches with undeserving challengers. Mosh and Thrasher were quicker than Bob Holly and Bart Gunn, and that made things difficult for Bob and Bart to keep control of one of them and keep them grounded and away from the other Headbanger. Mosh was soon worked over by Holly as he nailed an athletic dropkick, Bart coming in with various heavy shots. Thrasher soon got the tag though, and he ran in with the save, an enziguri to Holly but Bart ran in illegally whilst Cornette was on the apron, Bart with a knockout shot to Thrasher! Holly got up and nailed a spinning sit-out suplex on Thrasher for the win.

Winners: The Mid-South Connection @ 4:23 [**1/4]

The crowd booed as the Mid-South Connection stood tall, Mosh climbing back into the ring just for Jeff Jarrett to grab him and give him the Stroke on the floor! The crowd booed as Dan Severn made his way through the crowd and the South were attacking again! Severn applied the Beast Choker on Mosh as Jarrett prepared an acoustic guitar to slam over Thrasher's head but Faarooq, Dustin Runnels, Skull and 8-Ball ran to the ring, scaring away the five members of the South! Runnels and Faarooq stood in union, a sudden turn of events with Runnels becoming likeable by these fans! -- Commercial Break --A pre-taped segment aired with the Dudley Boyz giving them an introduction to the World Wrestling Federation fans, Buh Buh Ray and D-Von stood side by side with Big Dick in the centre, Big Dick talking about how he was a crazy son of a bitch, Buh Buh was a maniacal son of a bitch, and D-Von was a bad son of a bitch, and they were here in the WWF to take the New Age Age Outlaws up on their challenge; they're going to put their asses through tables! Billy Gunn is a queer and Jesse James looks like a hick, and they may look like hicks but they're definitely not Road Dogg Jesse James. Buh Buh stuttered repeatedly, then yelled that he wanted tables for the Outlaws! 7) The Dudley Boyz (w/Big Dick Dudley) vs The Quebecers |

A brawl started off the match as you had to believe that the New Age Outlaws would be watching this match with close eyes, Buh Buh Ray and D-Von Dudley doing battle with the two former WWF Tag Team Champions, the Quebecers putting up quite a fight with Buh Buh, trying to keep him away from the much more agile D-Von Dudley. Buh Buh's ribs were worked over, and Pierre and Jacques set up for the Quebecer Crash in hope that it would finish off the Dudley Boyz, but Buh Buh got the tag to D-Von, D-Von rushing into the ring and taking down both Quebecers! He nailed a powerbomb on Pierre, impressive for D-Von being smaller than Pierre, and Buh Buh Ray came in with a big sit-out full nelson bomb on Jacques! The two Dudley Boyz then came together, nailing a running Pierre with a Dudley Death Drop (a flapjack/facebuster combination move) for the win!

Winners: The Dudley Boyz @ 4:38 [**]

The crowd cheered as the Dudley Boyz celebrated their win, D-Von and Buh Buh Ray then leaving the ring and preparing a wooden table from beneath the ring! Big Dick had a microphone as he talked about how the New Age Outlaws liked sneak attacks, calling the Outlaws out to 'chat' next week on RAW is WAR! Jacques was given a massive powerbomb by Buh Buh Ray over the top rope through the table as the crowd cheered for these ECW invaders! In the backstage area Michael Cole was with Faarooq, Dustin Runnels and the Disciples of the Apocalypse as Faarooq talked about how the South had almost cost them their careers; Dan Severn wrestles like a sideshow killer, Jeff Jarrett has such a massive ego that he feels the need to throw household items at people in little tantrums. The Mid-South Connection are wannabes. And Jim Cornette is a geek! Dustin Runnels talks about how the South is a prime example of what he is against; anarchy! Runnels states that they are going to wipe them out when they next are in them. Skull and 8-Ball mention how they are concerned for Darren Drozdov as he has been lost with a concussion thanks to the South. And revenge will be taken! -- Commercial Break --8) Chain Match: Sable vs Jacqueline (w/Marc Mero) |

This was an interesting one, as Sable was put in this Chain match with the girlfriend of "Marvelous" Marc Mero. They were tied at the wrists as Jacqueline and Sable choked each other out with the chain throughout the first few moments of the bout, Jacqueline gaining momentum and cutting Sable's lip with a big haymaker at one point, being violent towards Sable, all in the name of jealousy! Sable fired back though, nailing a big Sable Bomb on Jacqueline, when Luna Vachon came out of nowhere, Luna with a big back suplex on Sable! Luna started ripping the clothes off of Sable as Jacqueline and Luna put the boots to the stripped Sable! Jacqueline hooked the leg and that was it.

Winner: Jacqueline @ 2:47 [1/2]

Jacqueline removed her chain as she and Luna Vachon raised hands, "Marvelous" Marc Mero getting into the ring and laughing at his ex-wife, stripped to her bra and panties, bleeding and unconscious on the canvas! A pre-taped segment aired, showing Kama Mustafa and Mark Henry in Chi-Town, the "Godfather" and "Sexual Chocolate" chatting up two Asian beauties at a bar, Kama then asking where the fried race was at in a racial slur. The scene panned to them sitting down, the Asian women on their laps, Mark Henry talking about how he loved Asians. The two grinned at each other, as two Japanese men that spoke little English stated that the Nation had stolen their mistresses. Kama kicked one in the ribs as Mark clotheslined the other, the two Nation members proceeding to make out with their Asian women! The limousine of DX opened from a distance outside in the Freeman Coliseum parking lot, and Triple H was calling out Steve Austin, next! -- Commercial Break --We return to the War Zone as the crowd gave Triple H a mixed reaction, the number one contender to the WWF Championship climbing into the ring and removing his shirt, talking about how there's only five minutes left of this show and he's not planning on wasting any time! Hunter called out Stone Cold Steve Austin, the "Texas Rattlesnake" being a 'pathetic son of a bitch' that calls himself a rebel! D-Generation X are rebels! Triple H states that he will be happy to show this to him tonight, next week, and at King of the Ring! The glass shattered as Stone Cold Steve Austin ran out to the ring, Austin and Hunter trading blows in the centre, Austin trying the Stunner but X-Pac darted to the ring! X-Pac fired kicks at Austin before Steve Austin took him down, Triple H and X-Pac pounding away at Austin! Then Shawn Michaels ran to the ring, a Sweet Chin Music to X-Pac! The crowd in San Antonio erupted as HBK had returned, staring Triple H in the eyes! Triple H stepped out of the ring as HBK attended to Steve Austin, his WrestleMania rival, and the War Zone went off the air.

Still owe you this week's reply.
Over The Edge: Love the push Jarrett is recieving with the NWA Strap, it's making him a really credible undercard guy that could easily move up. Love this stable of southern guys Jim Cornette's building, the addition of Dan Severn (hopefully as an enforcer, and to attract some mainstream attention but not much more) is great! Not sure if I agree with Goldust changing character on PPV, would much prefer to see him do this on RAW. The usual RAW audience who doesn't purchase the PPV is bound to be confused by the change, and you have to recap it in my mind tomorrow night. Jacqueline and Sable's feud I really don't care for, despite how well written it may have been, I just can't get into that as a feud. Sable needed to come out on top, and I'm glad she did, and the addition of Jacqueline cowering under the ring in teh buff is great! Owen Hart needed a win here, after a couple of months in my mind of looking like a bit of a lesser superstar compared to those in DX. Try and keep X-Pac strong though, he could definitely go places in my mind. The Rock beating out Faarooq was expected, would have preferred it to be clean so Rock can move on, not sure where Faarooq can go from here except down the card. It's a shame really as well, he has the potential to be great in the WWF. As well, I love the slow transistion for Kama and Henry to more 'pimp' like characters, should've mentioned that earlier, haha. Not sure if I can buy Mankind making The Undertaker (in a fashion) submit by passing out in the Mandible Claw, but then again I wasn't around for this era really, so I wouldn't know. Do like that you put him over though, as I was really expecting a Taker win. I've been enjoying Shamrock and Bradshaw's rivalry, really enjoying the push Bradshaw has been getting, and I personally hope it continues. As well, the fact that this match is match number six on the card, and I know we have at least another three matches, I don't know whether this is a little too packed. Glad the team covered was the RnR Express, would've hurt either of the other team's in my mind for them to take the loss. Don't know what else you can do with the Outlaws as champs if I'm honest, they're losing their legs in this reign challenger wise. I do like that Terry Funk's put Triple H over, it's been a great feud between them two, but I know that Funk is doing eveything but retiring, haha, just because it's Terry Funk. A DQ finish was the only realistic way this was going to finish. I'm not sure whether I would've had Taker come out after passing out in the Claw earlier, takes some cred from the finish in my eyes. Good PPV here, little packed, but hopefully it has tied up a lot of feuds and you can move on to new things now.
RAW 1/6: I liked the opening promo to this edition of RAW, especially the dig at Hart, nice touch there. Vince vs Austin is something I would've hyped in advance personally, but I see why you're doing it this way as well. X-Pac and Shamrock feud would be fun, if that's what the hint was at. X-Pac had to go over against Blackman here, could've done it clean but whatever. D-Lo Brown as IC Champ? I love you! Big fan of D-Lo, and Shamrock dropping it in a 'fighting champion' defense was the best way to go about things, since I'm sure you said he really was injured, haha. Bradshaw's post match attack builds up the feud they have going even more, can't wait for that to come to a satisfying conclusion, really is one of my favourite feuds atm just because I'm a mark for Bradshaw, haha. I liked the fact you gave Too Much a chance to shine against the champions, albeit they didn't do well, but that'll just add to their characters in my eyes since they'll wrongly brag about performance I'm sure, haha. An appearance from the Hardcore Chair Swinging Freaks? Out of all the tag teams in ECW, I don't think I would've brought them in, but whatever. Owen and JJ would've had a great match I'm sure due to their friendship, Owen vs JJ on PPV would be good, and could elevate JJ a lot. Action packed RIW here! I do like how strong Dan Severn's looking, just limit his actual match time please. Venis going over the newly renamed Runnels, good to see since Val's got a lot of potential. But wish you had recapped Runnels change of gimmicks. I enjoyed the Taker/Bearer promo, and the match with Kane next week would sure draw some viewers, look forward to seeing what happens there. Not sure whether I'm a fan of Severn in the KotR tournament if I'm honest, I'll have to wait and see. Mero, I just don't see the appeal of, and I hope he just fades off TV, just can't get into anything he does. TAKA going over is the much better move here. The aftermath, please don't extend the feud any further, it's just really draining the life out of the show in my eyes. Lol Funk retirement speech, he'll be back. Austin and McMahon's match went the expected way, and I like the introduction of Triple H's 'Game' nickname afterwards. Corporate DX (?) could be interesting. Packed and enjoyable edition of RAW here.
RAW 8/6: Classy tribute to JYD. Rock over Snow, who really seems like jobber fodder in the WWF sadly, is expected and the better move. Not sure whether I would've had Severn and Venis battle now, when they have another match to have next week. Bit confusing to me really. I like that you're setting up feuds for guys who haven't debuted yet such as Edge. Look forward to seeing what you do with him. Tajiri going over Aguila was the right move. Do like how there seems to be a title defense every week or so as well, makes the programs exciting. Liked Triple H's promo to end RAW is WAR, really excited to see how you book him (amongst others) as he moves up the card, and I'm looking forward to seeing him challenge Austin. Fingers crossed it leads to a run with the belt for him. Exciting start to the second hour of programming here, I see why you chose the HC-CSF to invade the WWF now and challenge the NAO. Glad however that the tag champs went over. THE DUDLEYZ! YES! Awesome stuff, would love to see them dethrone the Outlaws for sure. Don't know why D-Lo would shoot himself in the foot as a contender for the KotR crown by getting himself DQ'd. Blackman as an IC Contender, not sure whether I buy that. Urgh, next Monday better be the end of the saga between Sable and Mero. Just not enjoying it as a rivalry really. Jarrett advancing in the KotR tournament I'm a fan of, do like the South proving their dominance by beating down a rival stable. Glad that HHH and Austin have come to blows, makes the rivalry a little more exciting for sure. Taker and Kane's match going to a no-contest is something I'm not a fan of. Would've preferred a definitive end to the match with one going over, even if it meant Mankind interfering. A good edition of RAW here, just a little dissapointed with the end sequence.
