As of this date (2-28-2010). I have 5 Mattel WWE figures, with little intention of collecting full time.
As of this date (2-28-2011). I have 180 Mattel WWE figures, the complete Elite line Series 1-7 & WM26, a near complete 1/1000 collection MOC, and am just as excited and interested in this hobby as I ever was. WTF!
Here is my Mattel collection for your viewing pleasure:
Legends:
The bread & butter of my Mattel sandwich. I am without a doubt collecting this entire line. Off to a good start with series 1-3 complete, series 5 on pre-order & almost all of series 4. Now TRU just needs to drop the peg warming shelf packs to $14.99 again so I can get the 2 I'm missing.
Elites:
Complete 1-7....and I'll be collecting the entire line. These are all just too good to pass up. I've never been more pleased with a wrestling figure line than with Mattel Elites. I just hope they do something about the ankle joints, because most of these figures I own have superglued ankles just so they can stand. The space between the WWE logos on the front of the display is reserved for an "Elite Collection" logo I'm going to cut out of the next one I buy's package.
Basics:
Honestly, I had every intention of limiting my Basic Series intake. Part of me wants to collect them all, but I don't feel the need to own 2 figures in the same attire (Basic & Elite) or just some of them don't appeal to me. I'm a bit more selective when it comes to Basics, however since most superstars make their figure debut in Basic form, I have a lot of easy decisions.
Future Endeavors:
A tribute to those that are no longer with us....and by that I mean the retired & fired former WWE superstars. My plan is to collect at least one of everyone made in Basic & Elite form. Just because I don't see these guys every week on my TV doesn't mean they don't deserve a spot on my shelves.
Entrance Greats:
I had no intentions of getting these. I like them, but the $20 price tag just wasn't appealing enough to me. Enter Target. $9.99 each? I'm sold. All I need is The Rock to complete the line. Best get was Rey Mysterio for $7.50 shipped on Ebay.
1 of 1000s:
With the belt promotion ending, I decided I'd like to try and get everyone. I only had a few myself that I found in stores (Kofi Kingston, Kane, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase) All the others were obtained on Ebay or through trades/sales on Wfigs. I'm very close to complete. I've got 3 on the way, then all I need is Hurricane & Sheamus.
and now, onto the holy grail of my wrestling figure collection (Jakks haters beware!)
CM Punk
This is something I am truly proud of. As of this point I own every single regular figure released of CM Punk. (minus 1 Jakks UK Exclusive which, hopefully, is on the way & 2 TTLs from TRU 4 packs) I've collected every Punk, re-releases and all. If it's in a different set or package, it's a different figure to me. For Mattel I just need to grab the Rumblers 2 pack & get the Rumbler from the TRU 10 pack. Then eventually get the Wrestlemania Heritage loose & 1/1000 MOC.
The loose display:
This is every figure I have loose, along with the UMFs. Every championship Punk has won in the WWE is represented by a figure belt on the UMFs. I hope to add a ton more belts to that aspect of my display.
MOC's:
1st pic is the Flex Force Series 1 w/belt (many many thanks to Kollecting King for that one, I would have NEVER found it), 1/1000 (many thanks to AdamBomb for hooking me up with that one) and a custom made by skribbel that my GF gave me for a Christmas present in 2008.
2nd pic is just the random Punks' I wanted to keep MOC.
ECW Belt & Figure, Backlash MOC, WWEShop Bobblehead:
Maximum Aggression, various other figures:
Signed promos:
That's about it. Thanks for looking.
Just for fun, while taking pictures I just messed around and took these...
