Apparently TRU is owned by the middle east, because their WWE prices are rising as fast as oil. I'm actually disgusted by this, physically & mentally...and will be taking my business elsewhere for just about everything...pretty much the only thing I will buy from TRU is those All Stars packs (unless they aren't exclusive to them) or unless they have a sale (which is like once a year)
Basics are $11.99 Rumbler 2 packs are listed at $9.99 but are "on sale" for now... Elites are $16.99 2 Packs- $18.99 Defining Moments- $25.99
another dollar for just about everything, it's only a matter of time before Legends go to $16.99 as well, I'm actually surprised they have stayed the same price. you people overseas are pretty soon going to run out of complaining that you have it worse because we are heading towards $20 for ONE ELITE FIGURE

I also noticed some Targets raising legends to $16.98.

TRU is a joke right now, since Mattel took over I have bought the Wrestlemania exclusives and the legends 2 packs from TRU, and not 1 damn thing else besides that, this doesn't bother me because I don't shop there anyway, all this does is further justify my reasoning for buying stuff from Ringside, now if Walmart increased the prices, that'd be problematic so hopefully they don't.

Disgusting. I can hardly afford the figures now and it never helps when I buy a figure I want for it to only have a loose ankle joint or some other loose joint. Yes, Mattel puts a lot of detail into their figures but with the prices and the loose joints it just kills it. I don't see Mattel's WWE figures doing great business from this point forward. The price is just becoming too high for people to afford, including collectors.

I've already started cutting back. I'm now only going to buy figures that I absolutely want. No more "I like him, so Ill get him." I was going to get steamboats new figure, but not now. Same with taker. Only like 5 figures I can see myself buying now. Sucks that they are so damn expensive.

Its because other countries are buying them at higher prices so Mattel are thinking if there willing to pay so much for the figures in other countries where Wrestling isnt as popular they will pay more in the States.
The good thing about the States though is you dont backdown like we do in Europe. You wont buy stuff thats too highly priced were we just pay what ever.
It doesnt help when people on here say.... I'd pay anything for this or set up votes and have an answer like I'll keep collecting no matter what...
Mattel do read thses forums....

i was gonna buy defining moments 2 rock today because i've been having a terrible time finding his Legends 3 release. it looked good but i didn't want to spend nearly $28+ after tax for 1 figure - even if i did have a $10 TRU gift card... bummer because if the DM were still $24.99 like last week, i would have bought it straight up. $1 raise makes it go beyond my maximum willingness to spend (thanks microeconomics class!)

Holy ****! They're the only store around here that has a somewhat decent wrestling section. I guess I'll just stick to ordering them.

This is ridiculous! Raise our in food prices, Our gas, Our electricity now this crap. I can't afford to collect WWE figures anymore thats why i dropped out of the game in 2001. I buy here and there sometime but im officially done. TRU was the only decent place in my area to get the Legends series and that all i really bought anyway. And forget ringside i dont like places that raise price for a figure because of their popularity like a Swagger could be 12.99 but The Undertaker from the same series is $18.99 what is that crap?! These figures should be 5.99 basics 8.99 elite 12.99 two-packs 8.99 Legends i know it doesn't cost that much to make these....it cant cost that much.

This is why I love when people post their collections online. It gives me whatever it is I need and helps me from buying the things....

I have not bought any figures recently but at those prices I will have to be very selective on what I buy now. These prices are getting pretty high. It will be matter of time before other stores start increasing prices.

There's some coupons coming out and one sale starts on 3/4. It's $5 off a $25 purchase.

I only buy One definitive figure per Wrestler so I hold of if i don`t like a deco (Sarge, Snuka, LOD, Bulldog), cause quite frankly this hobby gets more and more expensive every year.
Once I have all the current Roster, getting the Legends will be all I'll be after and even then I will be chosey.
A dollar doesn't seem like much at first but it piles up.
If there were Cheaper Basic Legends I`d be inclined to buy more. Cause Honestly basic articulation is all I need. It was the Wrestlemania Heritage Austin after all, that sucked me back in.

Right now, DM2 Warrior is top priority. Once I find that, I may be taking a break.

I have 4 TRUs in my area, and none of them have much on the shelves to raise prices on. They've been pretty much bare since mid-December.

Not really sure if your serious right now dude Addressing the Ringside thing, popularity is a big thing when it comes to getting rid of figures. If you are overstocked with figures (as Swagger would be in comparison to 'Taker), you reduce the price to sell more. That's how ANY business works. Its why stores have Clearance sections Only TRU near me never has jack anyways. I'm trying to collect every Elite, so its hard on the wallet, but I'm finding Walmart to be the best place around Macon to get figures anyways.

We've had an increase in prices too... Basics are £9.99ea. and Belts are £16.99ea. (both £2 up from last year). The Elites are still £12.99ea. though which is cool. And next time you see any DM or Legends figures warming the pegs, count yourself lucky - we have to pay "speciality store" prices for them...
