Yeah I think WWE would plead for him to stay if they didn't have Mistico. With Mistico coming it gives them leverage with Mysterio. He can go. He hasn't been good in nearly 5 years.this is possibly, the stupidest thing i have ever read.

Mysterio hasn't been in good shape in a long time and has a bad history of injuries in the past few years.

Add to the that the obvious aging process and Mysterio is a shadow of his former self.

Considering the fact that he's wrestled the fast paced lucha style for literally the entirety of his career, I'd say he's in AMAZING shape. Rey is still able to wow the crowds, and get around that ring better than guys half his age. I don't think it's fair or accurate at all to say that he hasn't been good in the five years.
Also, why are so many stamping Rey as expendable just because Del Rio and Sin Cara are on board? Rey and Sin Cara would tear the roof off of any event if given the time. That's why I don't want him to leave. I think a feud between the two would undoubtedly produce awesome matches.

I can't imagine watching SmackDown without him. I started watching wrestling since I was six. I still remember that 1st day. I was playing with my toys when I walked to the kitchen. My dad was watching wrestling and I saw Rey. Man, he was my favorite. 2 days later, he took me to KB Toys and bought me a Rey figure. I'd literally cry if he actually leaves.

He had excellent matches with Jericho (and don't tell me it was all due to Jericho), and had the great Elimination Chamber match at EC a few weeks ago to name a few. I mean, people ragging on Rey saying he is too old, not in shape....what? Del Rio is going to be 34 this year, and Sin Cara is gonna be 29 this year....not exactly spring chickens if you ask me. I think Sin Cara and Rey could have excellent matches together.

Del Rio and Sin Cara are relatively new characters, so fans wont necessarily see them as older guys. The Miz is 30 and looks like he has 20 more years of wrestling left in him.

Yeah, I'm going to agree here with the people saying Rey hasn't been good in 5 years. It's true, if you guys REALLY think Rey is anywhere NEAR the caliber of performer he was 10 years ago, you're lying to yourself.
He is a shell of his former self, he looks like an overweight midget nowadays. Time to hang it up.

To act as if he's some old broken down crippled wrestler is asinine. He can still go, and still put on a classic match if the situation presents itself. People get old. Bodies change. Rey can still perform very well considering his style and how long he's been wrestling.

To be honest, i haven't really cared for Rey in years. Ever since he wrecked his knees, and bloated up. He's not bad, just not the Rey I choose to remember.

Yeah, in 5 years when injuries and age take their toll, you all will be whining and bitching that Del Rio and Mistico need to "hang it up" and such like you all are carrying on about Rey. Again, my point is that Del Rio and Mistico are not all that young (as is the Miz) to begin with.....add 5 years and count in the fact that they will suffer injuries, as I am sure they have already..... Besides, when Rey or any of the older guys on the IWC "hate list" who are on the way out are ready to retire, they will let us know...and it is THEIR decision, and not the fans'.....thank God. Thank God the Fans don't have a say. I want to see these guys as long as they are able to go. When they want to leave, it is their decision. Besides, better enjoy them now while they are here....because I know I am going to come on message boards and see fans' posting "Where is so and so?.....I miss him" I am going to be like, "Well.....you all wanted them to retire, remember?" I am already seeing that with a couple of guys who the IWC love to hate: HBK, and Batista. I am seeing "Waaaaaaa. I miss HBK. I miss Batista." Well, you all wanted them gone. Which is it? Like I am saying, better enjoy Rey, and some of the other older guys you all want out while you can..... Just saying..

It seems that many think Sin Cara is going to be able to take over where Rey left off. What if Sin Cara in WWE falls on his face? What if he's not as over with the casual fans and general fanbase (not just the internet fans)? We all know Rey has lost a few steps over the last several years. However, he has been able to get over on being the "underdog" for as long as I've ever seen anyone get over in that capacity He speaks English as a first language which has to give him a distinct advantage when it comes to promos (hey, perhaps Sin Cara is able to speak adequately enough to cut a decent promo) and little kids relate to him due to his small stature and what not. Plus, it's not like he can't still go every night and tell a great story when healthy. We don't know if Sin Cara will be able to carry on this dynamic with the casual fan and general fanbase.
I hope Sin Cara gets over splendidly but WWE without Rey is far worse, merch and business wise than it is with him.

i like the point above. ultimo dragon comes to mind. they made such a big hype. then they got rid of him in a year. rey good on the mic. the crowd love him. the wwe make bucks out of him. he must have the most figures ever, and he still great to watch. even if the 619 is so boring now.

Nowadays you have guys coming into the main roster with no international experience, minimal independent experience and they pretty much start out doing WWE safe style so they can have longer careers.

STOP with the crap about "dirtsheets". No legitimate news site is reporting this, and PWInsider even refuted it as being a load of crap. One copy and past site posted this bit of made up news and it means that all other news sites are discredited as a result? Get real.

It is total BS, why do you think these reports come out as soon as they sign Sin Cara? Because its easy for the dirsheets to say Rey is upset since Sin Cara is similar to Rey and can be seen as a replacement for Rey in the future. Its also easy to report because Rey is in a match with Cody Rhodes at Mania instead of a big time feud. Its all bull crap, Rey isnt leaving.
