Mine got lost in the shuffle several months back, so this is good to have another.
I will be getting this game when I get some money. One of my friends got it and he said it plays like Battlefield/Medal Of Honor, and if that's the case, I am sold even more than I was before.

Good luck getting online with it. THQ are rushing to get more servers up because they weren't prepared for that many sales (375K). So hopefully they get it fixed by this evening or something.

I was going to get it until I heard about all the shortcomings of the campaign and how it's only 4-5 hours long. The multiplayer seems nice, but I am worried about how long the community is going to last before people go back to CoD

dumbest game I've seen in a long time. sick parts in it. Your opinion. K. Care to explain? Well I only played the story, so I haven't got to play multiplayer. I heard the multi is actually pretty good despite the THQ servers. story mode sucks, Example: The girls parents getting killed in-front of her, who the thinks of that and creates that? The way they did it, just shouldn't have been the way to go about that, if anything this isn't helping those type of parents who blames video games for poisoning their child's mind. Graphics - not all that great. some objects in the game looked as though they were actual real images from google and photoshopped into the game. Basically saying the game looks as it was made in 2004, and even has a Half Life graphic feel to it, such as the plants/fire/blood, etc.. Just looks like something you'd see in a PS2 game. It seems they made this to just get more money into their pockets, no character stands out that makes you remember them, terrible way to start off a brand new game. I want to play a game that I will remember, not only just remember the game, but have characters in it that I'll remember. The only thing that's probably great about this game is the artwork it comes in & maybe the online mode if the servers are decent enough. My opinion.

The only thing that's probably great about this game is the artwork it comes in & maybe the online mode if the servers are decent enough. My opinion. Fair enough. I haven't played it so I can't say for graphics, but as for the story [the part where you say the girl's parents get killed in front of her] - that was the exact kind of emotion/reaction that was intended to be drawn from this game. They weren't going for a Modern Warfare/Black Ops kind of game, they were going for one that would strike closer to the heart because of the setting and the events going on. I understand what you're saying on "poisoning a kid's mind" - but touching on that whole argument of "Oh, the game made me do it" is a BS excuse for poor parenting in my eyes. If you care enough, you'll know what your kids are doing, what games they are playing or what movies they are watching, what music they listen to, and who they hang out with. Mine did, and while I didn't understand it, or like it, when I was younger, I appreciate the hell out of it now that I'm older because I know why they were like that.

Wait people are offended by the story? Must buy. Those are the games that people want. GTA, Mortal Kombat, MW2, those figures don't lie.

The multiplayer seems nice, but I am worried about how long the community is going to last before people go back to CoD I have a feeling this will have a niche group of player like Medal of Honor or Battlefield. But so far it's fun and the battle points system is nice and actually feels like a reward when you use something special.

This has got to be one of the worst games I've played in such a long time. I have nothing but regret for purchasing this garbage. First off the campaign is hideous! There's no originality, the characters are terrible and lack any depth whatsoever. The only good thing about the campaign is the concept of the story, other than that it was terribly executed.
Homefront is like every other first person shooter campaign minus the fun and throw in some clunky gameplay and horrible AI. The game is way too linear. I literally felt like I was playing a rail shooter. I understand that most first person shooters are extremely linear but games like Half-Life, Halo, Call of Duty, etc. at least do a good job of making you feel like you're on your own path making your own decisions.
Not to mention the graphics are hideous. This game might, and I stress might, have looked good on the original XBox, but there's no excuse for a game not to be polished these days. Even the animations are stiff and nowhere near fluid enough to meet any of today's standards.
The multiplayer is the only thing this game had going for it and even that is terrible. Homefront clearly and blatantly borrowed different aspects from other top of the line shooters and attempted to vomit them into one entity. And that's exactly what happened, it's like Call of Duty, Battlefield, and possibly Medal of Honor had sex and this is their down syndrome child. There are only a handful of guns to use even when when you hit the maximum level there's only like 12 or so guns to choose from. Not to mention the countless worthless perks more than likely no one will ever use. The gun camos aren't worth going after because the graphics are so bad that you can barely tell they're on your gun.
Speaking of graphical problems. They're so bad that half the time you can't tell if someone is prone or dead. I died a few times because of this and found myself shooting at many dead bodies from then on (rule #2, double tap).
There is no bullet penetration, and it's so bad that at one point I couldn't shoot someone through a chain link fence. The aiming and the overall movement feels slow and sluggish.
The only positive idea that came out of this game is the battle points system. I thought that was pretty innovative and fun to mess around with. It also reminded me why I quit buying THQ products.
This review isn't coming from someone who is angry because they were bad at the game, no, I ended with a 2.00+ K/D ratio and a 4+ W/L ratio so I was above the majority of the current community.
Needless to say I traded my copy into Best Buy for $37.

So far im actually enjoying the game. I have only played the Multiplayer player so far and it's pretty fun, Im looking forward to jumping it the Single player to see what it's like. Some of the bad things though are, The game sometimes just freezes, It takes me around 5-10 minutes to get in a game & I tried playing with a friend earlier but it kept spliting us up. Hope they fix this soon, Ohterwise, Great game!

Considering I'm not big on online gaming, I was really sad to hear all the negativity about the campaign. When I first saw videos for the game, the prospects of the campaign were what got me so excited. To find out that it's actually quite short, and fairly shallow, makes this game an easy pass for me. I'll likely just get it down the line when the price has dropped dramatically at Amazon or Gamestop.

The thing that REALLY frustrates me on this is not being able to get into a game. It takes the piss. I'll be sitting there for 10 minutes straight just waiting for a lobby to build or anything, Never happens, Then i leave, Try and get it a different lobby and in just freezes altogether. It's really getting on my nerves.
