I watched this video and my heart honestly goes out to this kid. I know what it is like to be bullied, not at that level but i have been and it does suck sometimes. I am also glad he finally took a stand against it and we can all be lucky that is all he did. He could of brought a gun, knife, and a whole list of other things and this could be a whole other ending. This video makes me wish he woulda kicked the kid once or twice too just to leave a stronger message.

And the other kid was interviewed and said this Casey kid had bullied him.
But I do wonder why all the attention given to these two? Bullying goes on everywhere. Why make a huge deal out of this case?

I saw this video on CNN a few days ago, and its cool to see the background story to it. I heard that the bully was suing him, which is bullcrap. I was never bullied, but my friend Abe was after 9/11 ( he was Aribic) and I had to fight for him through school.
I think that Casey is a hero, he was a victim for 3 years of this, and he finally ended it. He was in the right!

I feel sorry for this kid. I've luckily never been bullied, however I have never bullied anybody.

But I do wonder why all the attention given to these two? Bullying goes on everywhere. Why make a huge deal out of this case? It was essentially a big deal only in Australia, where it happened. It became a bigger deal outside of Australia when the video of Casey kicking the guy's ass went viral. |

Good for this kid. Glad he's getting recognition.
I've been in two fights in my life.
The first one was with a person who is now a very good friend of mine when we were in 6th grade. He was picking on me (he was a LOT bigger), tackled me, but I eventually subdued him with a guillotine choke and submitted him. I think I gained his respect that day, or something, because we have been friends since that day. He has changed a lot over the years and is now a really good person.
The other fight wasn't really so much of a fight, but it was me standing up for someone else who was getting bullied.
Between classes in high school, I looked over and I saw this guy picking on this other kid named "Mark" who was in one of my other classes. Mark was really quiet and just minded his own business, wasn't very popular, etc.
At first, when I saw the one guy push Mark into a locker, I thought, "This really isn't a big deal." But then I saw the guy pull out a pen and start stabbing Mark with it while one of his friends stood by, laughing.
I said that was enough. I didn't even know who this other guy was (I was in a HUGE class and probably only knew half of them), but I walked over there, tripped him to the ground, and stomped his chest/head like 8 times.
I know that "violence isn't the answer," but I couldn't stand watching that crap.
Mark and I weren't great friends or anything, but I talked to him regularly after that day. He never spoke about being bullied again, which really made me feel like I did the right thing.

The point of my story is that I feel like OTHER people need to step up and help put an end to this crap. It pains me to watch this video and see all these people standing around and NO ONE DOES ANYTHING until Casey decides to defend himself.

Trust me, if the smaller kid is saying Casey has bullied him as well, he's making it up to try and save face because thanks to the internet the entire world thinks that little kid is a d-bag. If someone is being bullied, they do not have the mental ability to walk up to that bully so freely and "float like a butterfly and sting like a bee" while taking free shots with the other person (Casey) stands there taking them..... If Casey had been bullying the smaller boy too, the first thing that would have happened after the first punch was the smaller kid being pummeled. |

Cool to hear him interviewed, but I hate the glorified style of this video. It's painted very specifically and stupidly, but I guess what more can you expect from a news show like this? Should've just let him speak and be done with it, without the goofy inspirational music and "heroics" stuff.
Good thing he has a clear enough head to not be thinking of himself as a superhero. It would be bad for his well being to be putting him on that type of pedestal.

If you see the bully kids interview he said he was the one being bullied. He's a liar obviously, you can see the mentality behind how he punched KC in the video, taunting him and stuff.

As a person who has been bullied and picked on throughout high school, I understand why and how that kid snapped. i did the same thing early on in middle school. I got used to verbal bullying, didnt bother me, But when ppl started to physically bully me is when i snapped, A kid shoved my head after school and i turned around and choked the kid out and launched a chair at him. I didnt care if i killed that kid at that time from all the rage built up in me. That is what usually leads to school shootings.

I've been bullied before and its definitely not fun. This kid did something I could never do and stand up for himself and all I can say is good for him. That bully deserved to get the crap beaten out of him.
