Please, I am looking at it now BUT do not pawn off human irrationality on religion...thats uncalled for and quite unfair. If you want to discuss it with me then i am more then open to make my point clearly and concisely in terms that an atheist or agnostic could find understandable...so lets leave that out...

It is disgusting that people feel the need to blame their ignorance or (possibly mental instability) on the bible. I suppose those that are unstable do not directly do it but then again Manson saw messages for his ideas and crimes in the most ludicrous of places.. And I have a problem with the idea that a 70 year old man actually came onto a 28 year old regularly...it doesn't have alot of sense backing his claim. Ignorance pure and simple. (and thank you for taking that part out )

Every religion has extremists, there can even be atheist extremists if you think about it. This is terrible regardless of why it happened. Y'know, I can get him reading the OT and seeing homosexuality being described as a sin (it is described as such in THAT portion), but maybe its just me, but I think it says something about murder as well

So...I guess it was a good thing the OP was deleted before I got here?
Anyways, that's horrible. I really don't have any other words for such a thing. Things like this most certainly do not help any religion. It sucks that there are people out there who take it to extremes such as this. People(especially the media) love to play these sorts of things up.

Well, he'll be in for a shock when he arrives in the prison showers. HA! BTW, anyone else think from the main page this would be a humorous story about a 70 year old getting stoned as in high?

This can't be blamed on religion. It can, however be blamed on people taking it to the extreme.
The same can be said for Islamic extremists, and other radical groups.
