So after placing my order with Ringside just after the set went on backorder I've been waiting in anticipation for about 6 weeks for my set of Legends Series 5...well Saturday afternoon upon returning from shopping there was a priority mail box on my porch containing:
"Macho Man" Randy Savage:
OOOOOOOOOH YEAAHHHHH!
Mattel's first "official" Legends Macho Man (hopefully first of many)
Everything about this figure is excellent EXCEPT the kneepads. The overly large & impossible to maneuver kneepads are just not right for this figure.
However the shirt, attire & face are all perfect. It is so awesome to have good quality, perfectly detailed & accurate figures of Macho Man.
His shirt is accurate in color & detail and is easy to remove. While I am clamoring for a new facial expression for Randy, the existing one is well good enough to satisfy, considering the other option is no Mach Man's
The Macho Man Clan:
Which is YOUR favorite???
"The Model" Rick Martel:
Another home run from Mattel. They captured the perfect look for Martel here. With the cloth jacket, bowtie, glasses, "Yes I Am A Model" pin and "Arrogance"...I could not have asked for more.
The headscan is perfect, capturing Martel in one of his accurate "I'm better than you" expressions, and the detail even down to the boot tassles is impressive.
This is the best figure of Rick Martel that has been made.
The button actually attaches & detaches like velcro to the jacket so you can place it wherever you like!
Bam Bam Bigelow:
One of the most impressive Legends figures Mattle has made. The details on Bigelow are incredible. From the entrance jacket, to the wrist cuffs, to his attire & trademark flame tattoo on his head.
This is truly a flawless action figure. The jacket is fully removeable with 3 connectors on either side under his arms. So are the wrist cuffs. The orange flames are vivid & bright which adds so much to the overall look of this figure. The scan is a perfect capture, even including his missing tooth.
Akeem:
I applaud Mattel for not just going the easy way and giving us Akeem in blue (like the Jakks Classic figure) Adding the removeable yellow entrance shirt makes it stand out and be it's own.
I'm not a fan of his hat being made of the same plastic that the kneepads are, it doesn't take away from the figure because it at least fits on his head with no problems.
The scan is excellent with a full beard and goofy/angry expression. Perfect for Akeem.
Overall Mattel came through with another amazing set of Legends. While the greedy part of me wishes there was one more figure in the set (I like the idea of 5 per) at least it saved my wallet a few dollars.
Thanks for lookin
