Although the Bulls were awesome tonight and it gives them a push going into the playoffs, it's gonna suck being a non-Miami fan in the postseason. If he hasn't already (and I think he has), LeBron is gonna go Super-Beast and crush the East with a venegence we haven't seen since the likes of Jordan. Ow. I'm pretty sure Iverson crushed the East with a vengeance... Phili almost didn't even make finals in 01. The Bucks won the season series and were on their way to beating them in the eastern conference finals before David Stern and the refs interfered (Stern was even spoted wearing an Iverson shirt during that series). Iverson didn't dominate the east, especially considering the Nets almost made the finals three years in a row (made the finals twice in a row). If anything J-Kidd dominated the east before Detroit emerged around 03/04. As for the Heat, Lebron is the best player in the league but his ego is still ridiculous. He was shown complaining to the media after the Bulls beat em that the Bulls were too physical w/ him (complained about the Hinrich and Taj plays, which were not dirty plays). Never saw Jordan, Magic, Russell, Bird, Kobe, etc... complaining about teams being too physical. Its funny to because the league is the least physical its ever been. Wade and Bosh would have never survived during the 80s and 90s, especially against the Pistons, Lakers, Bulls, Celtics, Knicks, etc... Given that Miami is the favorites this year, but only if they go into the playoffs seriously. All year they have been playing inconsistent and not taking teams seriously. If they go into the playoffs cocky like they did in 11, a better overall team will beat em like the Mavs did. The only teams I think have a shot to beat em are the Spurs, Grizzlies, and Celtics. Boston is an underdog, especially w/ them playing much better since Rondo went down. Avery Bradley is a beast. Grizzlies maybe if Gasol and Randolph can dominate like they did in the 11 playoffs. Denver possibly but they don't have anyone to guard Lebron.

I don't know, 32.9 ppg is really hard to pass up, especially when Iverson had to carry the team on his back .

I don't know, 32.9 ppg is really hard to pass up, especially when Iverson had to carry the team on his back . Not denying that he was a rare talent but he was also averaging the most shots per game of any player back then. Iverson's defense was also very suspect. J-Kidd was an all around great player and single handedly turned the historically bad Nets into title contenders over night by himself. And he didn't have much talent around him either besides for a young Richard Jefferson. Heck he had Brian Scalabrinie as a main role player. Iverson was a top talent but J-Kidd was literally one of the best ever in his prime.

Iverson was good, but didn't crush the East like Jordan, or even Dr. J/Moses did back in '83. I'm thinking LeBron and the Heat pull something equal to a complete sweep of the East (and possibly the Finals themselves) this year, if he stays determined and pissed off.

I don't think they will pull a complete sweep of the East. Boston, Indiana, and Chicago can all atleast take a game or two against Miami. Still won't matter through since the finals are going through Miami yet again this year.

the Heat, robbing fans of a quality match-up between the two best teams in each conference. There was no talk of LeBron's "hurt hamstring" before this game, and now he sits out. What a convenient day to miss. ****.

The Spurs did do it earlier this year to be fair.

The Spurs did do it earlier this year to be fair. Yep. As much I'd love to put the blame on Miami, SA did the same thing to them earlier in the year. And its not like this game matters now that Miami's streak has ended.

I fear for the Spurs right now. They're banged up and playing some of their worst basketball just before the playoffs are about to start. That second round potentially against the Grizz could send them packing.

Nice to see OKC hitting their groove right before playoff time.

I know its highly unlikely, but I'd love to see Memphis make it to the Finals.

I picked up some crazy good seats on stubhub last night for about half of what they're worth. It was about 5 rows behind the Blazers bench. I've never been that close before, everything looks so much bigger and faster. Also, the fans are inherently more attractive in the lower seats too.

I don't know about that. Whenever I go to the Sixers game for some reason there are always some attractive Asian girls sitting in my section.

One season where Kobe's stats should make him a lock for MVP, they're only 8th.... damn.

Lebron's the clear cut MVP this year, no doubt about it. Nobody can touch him, Parker and Durant were close until he went on that record streak.

While you might make a case for several guys this year (Kobe, KD, CP3, Parker, Melo), it's clear as day that this is LeBron's league and he isn't about to relinquish anything to the rest of them. Speaking of which, I'll often update my playoff predictions as the season draws to a close, and never once have I strayed in picking Miami to win it all again. No one is in their league and, though it won't be a clean sweep to the Finals, the Heat should have no problems running through the East and matching up with OKC by early June (barring any serious injuries, of course). If the Nuggets were complete and healthy, I might have considered giving them the nod over the Thunder. Only two or three series I can see "going the distance" (i.e. a full seven-game series) are Clippers/Grizzlies and Nets/Bulls (1st round) and Knicks/Pacers (Conf. Semifinals).

I can still see the league pushing for a Lakers/Heat final, and with the way Kobe played last night, it wouldn't be impossible tbh.
