went out hunting this weekend and i couldn't believe what i saw at k mart. if you look close enough you can see that they replaced his stick with a tooth pick. how did the employee who took this back not see that this figure was missing feet?

Wow, I can see how they got the Finlay messed up. But the Shamrock with massive paint wear and play marks - they really didn't even look before accepting this return.

Shamrock's obscure TTL 90s figure....with what looks to be some sort of boot experiment gone wrong going on. I've seen it all now.

Re-packings can only get worse now that there's no picture of the figures on the boxes anymore. (Of course, that doesn't matter anyway, if the person running the returns counter is this oblivious.)
I just love that the guy took the time to shave down the toothpick, so that it would fit into the bubble.
LOL @ "The World's Most Dangerous Diabetic Amputee" Ken Shamrock!!! ;D

This is really ridiculous...
It's reasons like this that stores jack up the prices. People will buy the figure, put a completely different figure in the box - not even one that looks close to the same, as seen above - and then return it. And these dumbasses working these stores will return it with no questions asked, and the returned figures will go back out on the shelf for sale. Kids, adults, and collectors alike - hell, dare I even say scalpers - will then see this crap that these idiots returned to the store, and they won't buy the sh*t. In turn, the same crappy return will sit on the shelf for months and months on end, and the stores will see that the figures are not selling, they are losing money on figures and they have to jack the prices up to make up for the "loss".

I can't blame the employee at kmart for not catching these. If they were a wrestling fan then maybe they should but otherwise this is just a case of people doing ILLEGAL activities and karma will catch up with them soon enough. That's some nerve to return something like that. I bet its all around the store you find stuff like that cd's dvd's clothes etc. Just imagine the low life adult repackaging those figures and then bringing them back, makes for a good laugh. Would be a nice "what are you in for".... Don't drop the soap buddy.

according to a manager at my local Kmart.. a return is only put back on the shelf for sale if the packaging is still sealed. i guess this criminal also specializes in re-sealing...
and from his mouth, if a return transaction was done correctly, then the customer's driver's license was taken at the point of return.

I have seen this quite a bit as of late in bith KMarts and Walmarts.
When I speak to the Department Managers and point it out, they shake their heads and apologize. Both have told me that each retailer is cutting back hours and really limiting what they can do to make their departments better. These are good people in the stores that I frequent, but there are also deadbeats working the same stores, that display bad attitudes and whose work ethic probably affects the quality, loyal employees.
If you multiply this x 20000 to reflect the amount of both stores, I think you will find the problem is more rampant than we think it is.
While I agree that these chains should be more of aware of the deception, the true nature of the problem lies with the people that find no issue in the fact they are flat out stealing. The solution needs to really start with a moral gut check with the people that do this.
