Nice little variant that you got yourself. While it doesn't matter which version I'll find (since I collect loose), I sort of hope I find this version that way I can see if his eyes are painted well and not sloppy while being hidden by the glasses.

I am inclined to think it is a running change as I received my Ryder and his glasses had fallen off his head. I originally didn't it came with any until I noticed a loose pair dangling near one of his feet. I don't know if others have had this problem, but it could be a reason for the change. Didn't bother me because I opened it anyways, but I would have been saddened were I a MOC collector.

A variation, yes. A Variant, No. That's what a variant is... Some of you people are completely stupid.

Idiots, this is a variant. It´s not a mispackage, there is a hole for glasses there. It´s a packaging variant, which is still variant dumbarses. I have this same figure and he looks the same as this one with the glasses off. haha its not a variant.. A variant would be his face is different, or his pants are different colored, or if he had a completely different outfit.. Think what ya want its your opinion really, but its def no variant 100% for sure unless it has some huge change to his face, or outfit, or if he came with different accessories, but my figure has the same gear this one and every other one has on. Look at the Jericho Variant in blue. Now thats a variant.

A packaging variant is a variant.. By definition, the word variant means "a variation of something". It's a variation of the original. If the glasses had fallen off and were at his feet, it wouldn't be a variant. but they are in a clearly cut part of the plastic, where they are meant to be.

differences like this fall into 2 categories. a variant or an error. those are the only valid classifications in action-figure terms.
variant = intentional difference. error = unintentional mistake.
theres a hole for the glasses, whereas there wasn't on the original. a hole for the glasses and them being placed there is not a mistake, it's an intentional change, designed by mattel, therefore it is a variant.
just because the change is something small and insignificant doesn't make it not a variant...
