WCW Thunder Episode One "Rattle Snake Rules"
Filmed at WCW Studios (inside WWF Studio Headquarters)
In attendance: 3,411
The opening of the broadcast reveled an angry Steve Austin who was standing in the middle of the ring. He then addressed the WCW World Championship situation and picked the two top ranking superstars to compete for the newly instated WCW Championship! He also stated to everyone on the roster including the new world order he was putting everyone on notice! Which he went on to explain that he would let anyone go for any reason he saw fit at anytime or place! Steve Austin left the ring and allowed Scott Stanford and Randy Savage to elaborate on the subject at ringside.
Opening Contest: (Untied States Championship Match)
Kofi Kingston Vs. Tyson Kidd
Kofi Kingston attempted to shake hands with Tyson Kidd, but he slapped his hand away. Kofi shook it off and paced around before going into a collar and elbow lock up. Tyson Kidd reversed it into a hammer lock backing Kingston into the turnbuckle. The referee stepped in between the two men breaking the hold. But the mean streak in Tyson showed once more catching Kofi with a thumb to the eye. He followed it up with a monkey flip! He rushed off the ropes attempting a running senton dive but Kofi caught him with a double knee to the lower back! Kingston slowly rolled to his feet and managed to catch Tyson with his signature spin kick to the face! Tyson fell to the mat and Kofi began pandering to the fans with his boom taunt. He danced around before rushing off the ropes catching Tyson with the double leg drop to the lower abdomen! He followed through with a cover but Tyson kicked out at the count of two! Kofi couldn't believe it, he tried to follow up with another innovated move but Tyson caught him with another cheap shot to the groin area ( out of the referee's site) He then drove Kofi into the mat with a half DDT and pinned him. The referee count the one, two, and at the last second Kofi Kingston rolled his shoulder up! Tyson couldn't believe it as both men rolled to there feet! The stared one another down and began exchanging hands, about that time the bell rang! The referee signaled time had run out! The ring announcer announced the match being a draw!
Kofi Kingston was disappointed and begged the referee for five more minutes, the referee refused to allow anymore time. Tyson Kidd jerked his Untied States Championship up and quickly headed up the ramp where he was met by WCW General Manger Steve Austin! Steve Austin pointed to the ring and called for the bell! Kofi Kingston jumped out of the ring meeting Tyson Kidd on the ramp! the two men exchanged hands coming back to the ring. Kofi Kingston rolled Tyson Kidd into the ring and danced around blocking each hand he tossed at Kofi. He irish whipped him into the turnbuckles catching Tyson with the Stinger Splash! Tyson collapsed in the center of the ring. Kofi danced around him before turning him over locking him into a Mexican Surfboard and Tyson Kidd had no choice but to tap out! Winner: New Untied States Champion Kofi Kingston!
Kofi Kingston took ahold of the belt and celebrated with it before leaving the ring. Tyson Kidd slapped the mat over and over with a disgruntled look on his face. He pleaded with the referee but there was nothing he could do and Tyson finally rolled out and limped away to the backstage area.
In The Back,
NWO member's arrived at WCW Studios, all three men seemed un phased by Steve Austin's announcement. Kevin Nash, Big Show, with manger Scott Hall all walked into the arena and headed to their locker room.
Second Contest: (US Championship 1.co Match)
Chris Jericho Vs. Drew McIntyre
Chris Jericho and Drew McIntyre stared one another down in the center of the ring. Drew stepped back and caught Jericho across the side of the head with a open hand slap! Jericho turned away from him shaking it off and Drew demanded he face him, and Drew spun him around only to get a series of hard shin kicks to the abs. Jericho wasted no time and grabbed him up by the neck and sent him over with a snap suplex! Jericho followed it up with a side back breaker Jericho made sure he dropped him right over the top of the knee. Jericho then went to the top rope, he came off with a double axe handle but was met with a right hand to the upper torso by Drew!
Drew wasted no time and followed it up with a suplex hanging him over the top rope. He measured him and dropped him with a beautiful drop kick! This knocked Jericho on the outside against the guard rail. Drew climbed out and grabbed Jericho slamming his face into the canvas before rolling him back in and catching him with an elbow to the throat! Drew attempted a shoulder block over the top rope but Jericho caught him with a clothesline mid-air! This took the air out of McIntyre and put out him on the mat below! Jericho followed it up his signature Lion-Salt and pinned him for the, one,two,three! Winner: by Pin-Fall Chris Jericho!
Randy Savage and Scott Stanford discussed the final moments of the bout. Scott Stanford noted the in ring experience of Chris Jericho could of helped him win the match. Randy Savage agreed and followed his comment up about how Drew McIntyre might have under estimated Jericho which cost him not only the match but the number one contenders spot. Randy Savage then immediately went to the back to catch up with Jericho for his post match comments.

Randy Savage took Chris Jericho's post match comments, Chris Jericho discussed the ending of the bout until he was interrupted by WCW Legend Rick Rude! Rick stared down Jericho before only stating one phrase "talk is cheap?" Rick Rude gave him a cocky smirk before brushing by him as he walked off camera.
Third Contest: ( NWO Exhibition Match )
NWO "Rookie" John Cena Vs. Konnan
The new world order lead John Cena out to the ring, Kevin Nash introduced John Cena as the new world order rookie! Kevin Nash told the audience in attendance this would be John Cena's name from now on. John Cena sighed and removed his NWO shirt and wrist bands awaited the arrival of his opponent. Meanwhile Randy Savage informed viewers, John Cena didn't join the NWO on his own free will he was forced into it after loosing a match against Scott Hall. He also noted John Cena injured Scott in the match which is why The Big Show is Kevin Nash's tag team partner later in the evening. Scott Stanford didn't comment but asked Randy Savage "how was it being a member of the new world order in the original WCW?" Randy Savage responded with an small adjustment of his sunglasses and some mumbling.
Former Wolf Pac member Konnan finally came to the ring accompanied by Wrath. Konnan jumped in the ring and shoved John Cena as the referee rushed over in between the two men and rang the bell! John and Konnan locked up in the center of the ring. Konnan moved in into a test of strength putting John Cena on to his knees! But it wouldn't be long before John Cena over powered him and returning the favor! John Cena followed through with a hip toss sending Konnan to the mat! The fans got behind John Cena as he lifted him up and tossed Konnan over the top rope! John jumped out of the ring behind him, he caught Wrath with a right hand sending him to the floor! John Cena tossed Konnan over into the crowed and began beating him on with right hands. Konnan tried to get away but John grabbed him and tossed him back over and it appeared Cena was letting some of his frustration out on Konnan!
Finally the two men got back in the ring and John applied the STF on Konnan! He was just about to tap until Kevin Nash distracted the referee allowing Wrath to interfere and drive Cena into the mat with his signature pump handle slam! This allowed Konnan to just cover John Cena after words and the referee saw nothing due to Kevin Nash and he turned counting the three! Winner: By Pin-Fall Konnan!
After the match, all the NWO members with Konnan and Wrath attacked John Cena. Kevin Nash screamed to John Cena it's how "rookies" learn! But out of no where the lights went out! The new world order staggered in the ring looking around! The lights returned on to show Sting standing in the ring? All the member's jumped out of the ring and Sting caught Konnan and Wrath with the baseball bat knocking them out. John Cena climbed to his feet and Sting turned and cracked him across the skull with the bat knocking him out. He then rubbed his face taking some of the paint off to reveal it was none other than Matt Hardy! The NWO members laughed at ringside pointing at the fans seeing the disappointment on their faces!
Randy Savage and Scott Stanford were just disgusted, Randy commented on how this was a mockery of Sting and John Cena. Scott Stanford went on to discuss how the new world order had been teasing the arrival of Sting, and he guessed this was the "Sting" they were talking about. Randy Savage told Scott Stanford he wish Sting would really show up and remove the NWO once more from WCW!
Earlier Today,
"Impact Players" arrive at the WCW studios, they were greeted by former NWO members Konnan and Wrath. The two told Credible and Storm they should watch there backs when it came to the NWO. The two seemed un phased by the duo.
Fourth Contest: ( Universal Tag Team Championship Match )
"Impact Players" Credible & Storm Vs. "The Outsiders" Kevin Nash & Big Show
These two men wasted no time, they came from the crowed attacking The Outsiders! Although their momentum was short lived. The Big Show cold clocked Justin Credible with a huge right fist knocking him out at ringside! Meanwhile Kevin Nash caught Lance Storm with a huge elbow and followed it up with a bench press slam! Lance Storm hit the mat hard and Kevin Nash just turned rubbing his boot across Lance's face and neck! Before Kevin Nash could lift Lance Storm up, The Big Show had tossed Justin Credible over the announce table into Randy Savage and Scott Stanford!
Finally the referee had enough and called for the bell disqualifying The Big Show and Kevin Nash! Nash tossed Lance aside and climbed out of the ring irate at the decision! The Big Show screamed at the referee demanding him to reverse it! Finally Randy Savage had enough, he removed his hat and glasses and stepped in front of the referee! The Big Show and Kevin Nash decided not to pick another fight with Savage instead both men left ringside turning over everything they could on their way to the back. Randy Savage helped up both Justin Credible and Lance Storm before going to the backstage to interview Shelton Benjamin!
In The Back,
Randy Savage interviews Benjamin about up coming WCW Championship match. Although Savage was directly talking to Benjamin, Flair answered all his questions. Flair reminded Savage since taking Shelton under his wing he became second in the WCW rankings which is why he was chosen to compete for the championship!
The Main Event
Fifth Contest: ( WCW World Championship Match)
Shelton Benjamin (with Ric Flair) Vs. Christopher Daniel's (with Ricky Steamboat)
These two individuals left it all in the ring, both men put on an amazing display of in ring skill and technical ability! Neither man would stay on the mat for more than a second, each time one would counter the other would follow through with one of his own. Daniels and Benjamin just kept reversing each other until both men were back to their feet standing toe to toe. They paced back and forth before locking up once more and finally Daniels was able to finally catch Benjamin off guard and take him down with a back stabber! He tried for a cover but Benjamin tossed his right arm up at the very last second. Both mangers at ringside were at wit's end as these two legends had helped them get to this point. Benjamin caught Daniels off guard with a super kick and followed it up with a pin of his own but Daniels kicked out! These two men were wore out and both men were now struggling to get their feet.
But Daniels managed to get a second wind and he applied the Angels wings out of no where on Benjamin and he dropped him in the center of the ring! The fan's jumped to there feet when Christopher Daniels went for the cover! The referee counted the one, two, and Ric Flair pulled Daniels out of the Ring! The referee jumped up to see what happened! Daniels got back to his feet and slapped Ric Flair knocking him into Steamboat! Ricky fired away on Ric with right jabs knocking him over the guard rail into the fans! Meanwhile in the ring Daniels climbed back in and Benjamin caught him off guard with his signature move ( t-bone suplex) and followed it up with a cover for the one, two, three! The referee called for the bell as Shelton just rolled off Daniels and laid in the ring next to him. The referee laid the Championship across his waist as the broadcast was coming at a close.
Randy Savage and Scott Stanford both were shocked and amazed as they discussed the ending of the match! Scott Stanford took up for Daniels stating he would of won the match if it wasn't for Flair's interference! Randy Savage disagreed and stated Shelton Benjamin had the match before Flair's interference and would of won without it. Scott Stanford then thanked everyone for watching and told everyone to tune into the next WCW Thunder!
