He's number one contender then.Insert him into the Sting/Anderson match please. I´m not sure if you were being sarcastic, but that statement isn´t true. Just because someone beats the world champ, doesn´t make them number one contender. ESPECIALLY In a tag team match.

Gunner (or Phill Shatter if you follow him in NWA) is a heck of a blue-chip tallent. I'd love to see him pushed to the top. He's a hard working (and genuinely nice) guy.
Can't see why TNA would have the Champ lose this close to a PPV though . . . .

If you beat the champ, why shouldn't you get a shot at the title?

I'm not being sarcastic at all. If you beat the champ, why shouldn't you get a shot at the title? I completely agree, but that´s not how it´s done in wrestling. Only sometimes. However, he AND Anderson beat Sting and Eric Young, Anderson helped Gunner pin Sting. If Anderson had pinned Eric Young, I doubt he would be number one contender. If Gunner beat Sting in a one on one match, then I would completely agree with you.

I don't have a problem that Gunner has a victory over Sting as much as I have a problem with the timing of the loss. IMO having Anderson & Sting lose this close to the PPV demoralizes the whole main event.
